If you had told me a day would come when I would find Charm City Chinese food that outdid my beloved China House, I would call you a liar, sirs and madams. However, that day has come. This past Sunday, some friends and I were taken by an overwhelming urge for Kung Pao while watching the Big Lebowski. The debate that ensued will go down in infamy as the most ruthless battle over Chinese delivery this side of the Mississippi. Alas, my darlings, I was defeated, and grudgingly placed my order with Asian Harbor. An egg roll and plateful of Kung Pao later, and I sat in shock on the couch, a changed woman. I must, with absolute sincerity, pass on the Most Bangin' Chinese Food torch to Asian Harbor. FRESH was the resounding theme of night, from the most tender, white meat chicken, to the perfectly steam-fried rice and crispy veggies, and finally, the light but flavor-popping sauce. The egg roll was about half as greasy as any I've tried before, without sacrificing an ounce of flavor. After my meal, I was left satisfied and relaxed, without the massive food coma that ensues from other Chinese I've tried, where the high sodium soupy sauces, copious preservatives, low quality chicken gristle and sugar-soaked veggies slowly seep through your veins until you yourself become one big fried dumpling. Asian Harbor obviously puts time and effort in their execution, and uses fresher, more high quality ingredients to start. Pair that with fast delivery and reasonable prices, and you've found your new go-to spot for Chinese delivery. Consider me converted. read more

This place is barely average and that is kind of a push. Delivery was prompt. The delivery person was nice and my food was hot even during rush hour. The food was average. It didn't taste fantastic but it didn't taste terrible either. The chicken was heavily breaded and lacked real flavor. The problem came when I opened my bag of promptly delivered piping hot average food and found no utensils no napkins and no fortune cookie. When I called my driver back and asked for a utensil he said I would have to call the store and he would come back and drop it off for me. When I called the store to ask about it she stated "we never give utensils or napkins with dinner orders unless you ask for it." This was complete news to me. I never saw it on the website or menu. So I requested utensils and napkins. She informed me that it would take 45 minutes to come. I have no idea why they don't have the driver carry extra utensils to avoid this kind of issue. It doesn't make sense. In a sea of bad chinese food places average isn't bad but I don't think I will be coming back anyway. read more

I recently moved to Baltimore from Brooklyn, and I had some major takeout adjustment issues when I first got here (until I discovered Eat24 a few weeks ago! Yes!). At first, I was dismayed to see that aside from Little Italy, the only takeout option near me was a dingy-looking restaurant named Asian Harbor, and because of its exterior, I assumed it was a meh Chinese takeout place that flirted in subpar sushi. How wrong I was! I got my haircut at Tenpachi in Fells Point, and my stylist Candace (who is fantastic) recommended I go to Asian Harbor when she found out I lived near Little Italy; she used to cut hair in that neighborhood and said it was a reliable takeout joint with good quality sushi. I was suspicious at first, but after she gave me a great haircut, I figured it couldn't hurt to trust her. I've ordered sushi rolls (usually California, Eel [sub out cucumber for avocado, which they're happy to do], and Tuna) and they've been surprisingly good quality for how cheap it is. Their American-style Chinese fare is delish, particularly the crab rangoon and General Tsos. Also, bonus, they sell an obscene amount of Chinese donuts for $3.50. Ungh. The people who work there are congenial and clearly communicate with you about what you've ordered, how much it costs, and when it will be ready. Despite its dingy awning, the restaurant is clean and even has some tables. As others have mentioned, you can order online or pay in cash and get discounts. Lesson learned-- never judge book by its cover, or in this case, a pan-Asian takeout place by its awning. Definitely support this local business-- they really care about customer satisfaction, and the food happens to be fresh and delicious. read more

I don't care how badly you're craving sushi, if everything else is closed...still don't do this. I learned the hard way. We both had a crazy hankering for sushi and it was late on a Sunday night. We spent almost $65 and threw 85% of it away. The only tolerable roll was one that was heavily tempura-ed. So basically, you couldn't taste the awful fish. I try to be open minded and understanding, but there is no excuse or explanation for the terrible,old fish which was used to construct our rolls. My daughter told me about this restaurant so I walked over to place the order and bring it back to her apartment. I ordered the Thai basil shrimp, my wife had the Hawaii chicken and my daughter had the sesame crusted salmon. The Hawaii chicken was a total ripoff. You get large pieces of puffed batter fried chicken in a lovely sweet and sour sauce with pineapple and vegetables. But there was no chicken! All those pieces of batter, each one at least the size of my thumb, contained microscopic pieces of chicken. The chicken inside was the size of my index fingernail. This for $17.00, all batter and vegetables. The salmon dish had a tiny food service portion piece of salmon. You know those pieces of fish, each one exactly the same. Six or ten to the box, five inches long, maybe 2 or 2.5 inches wide and 1/2 inch thick. Each individually wrapped in plastic. For $19.00, I expected to see a real piece of fish. Farmed salmon at wholesale prices is dirt cheap. The Thai basil shrimp was excellent. It was delicious and plenty of shrimp in it. So, two dishes out of three were not good values at all. Very little of the protein you expected to get. But, all the dishes tasted good. Small consolation when a takeout dinner for three cost of $63.00. read more

Good Chinese in Baltimore is a rarity and Asian Harbor is definitely better than most in the area. I can't say I've gone to the physical location, but had positive carry out experience. Delivery was very prompt, and the food was tasty and reasonably priced. The orange skin pieces in the orange chicken weren't really my thing, but it was otherwise fine, as were our other entrees. The food is on the spicy side, so maybe specify otherwise if you're not into that. Other than that, I'd order from here again. read more

One of the two chinese carry out/delivery places that I frequently use when im hungry, its late, and I need food delivered to my school. I always go with the safe stuff: General Tso's, orange chicken, sesame chicken, or kung pao chicken. I've tried their green curry and pad thai. Its an epic fail. Don't get it!!! If you order from their website, you get a 10% discount which is good since they charge a $1 delivery fee, so u basically negate it. Minimum is $10 for delivery. Make sure you tell them to add utensils because they often forget. Their crab rangoon is pretty good when hot, but when it gets to room temperature, its mad chewy. Hot and sour soup is blah...below average. But they do give you a side salad with ginger dressing. All their dinner specials come with entree, choice of white or fried rice, soup,and salad for $7.95 i believe. So pretty good deal for a hungry grad student like me. Never open on Mondays, though. And they don't open past 11pm which kinda sucks cuz thats when I get hungry most often while studying for tests. read more

I would say that this was the worst Thai food I've ever had, but the two dishes I ordered -- Drunken Noodle and Thai Basil Chicken -- didn't even taste remotely like Thai food. It was just really bad food. Noodles over-cooked, relatively flavorless, hardly any basil in the Thai Basil. The fried gyoza where squishy and gross. I give it two stars because the Singapore style fried rice is actually really tasty. As are the edamame. The "homemade" half-and-half is also truly awful. read more

Chinese food isn't bad but the sushi I had was disappointing. I got the two roll special. The eel roll was basically a cucumber roll with eel sauce. I really don't think there was eel in most of it. The shrimp roll was literally just a piece of shrimp with rice and tasted like nothing. I ordered (and paid for) a side of spicy mayo which didn't come with the food. I have ordered food here quite a few times and it usually is decent (not great-not awful) but today is the last straw for me. We ordered shrimp with yellow curry, its basically a curry onion dish with 4 tiny shrimp. Steamed veggie dumplings (WAY overcooked, bland)- steam flavored!!! yuck!!! and the beef and scallop w/oyster sauce. they actually sent the wrong dish. I called to inform them about the mistake they told me I received scallop in black bean sauce, but they would make me the proper order and bring it right over! great! how is that for customer service??? Not so fast! When the delivery guy showed up, In order to get my "New" order i had to turn over my original "mistake" dish. Really??? You want the dish you sent me by mistake back? Are they gonna resell it? I don't know, I hope not!!! I just find that move to be incredibly poor taste! I don't think I'll go back. Too many other options. read more

Ordered from this place a few nights ago. I did a delivery order for General Tso and a California Roll (always try the California Roll before I try any other sushi). Good: The fried rice was good, and was the thing I enjoyed the most. Broccoli was cooked well. Also the delivery guy was nice. Bad: The sushi was edible, but not good; It had no flavor at all. The General Tso chicken I ordered was not spicy at all, was dry, and they only gave me two pieces of broccoli...TWO PIECES. Ugly: If you're looking for Chinese food I would not go here. Maybe only for the fried rice since that was good, but any Chinese place that messes up General Tso is bad is my book. In addition to this, don't go here for sushi. Only place I ever order delivery Chinese from in the city! Always arrives quickly and taste great. I love the menu item "two kinds of shrimp". The blend of sweet and salty does the trick when I am looking to indulge. They also do a great job of swapping out ingredients if you don't like something that comes with the entrée. read more

This is my go-to place when I want sushi, but don't feel like leaving the house for it. This is, as far as I know, the only place that will deliver sushi to my door (other than Wok 'n Roll in Federal Hill, which is atrocious - I stopped ordering from there ages ago). It's not Minato level - it's not even close - but it does well in a pinch when I'm feeling a little lazy. I ordered their 8.75 special (two rolls of choice) - selected the California roll and the spicy tuna. Rolls were very large and filling. The California was particularly good today - the avocado was ripe, very green and tasted nicely with a bit of wasabi. Spicy tuna was delicious - the outer skin had sesame seeds, which was a really nice touch. Plenty of pickled ginger (a plus), though they were a bit low on the soy sauce - not enough to lose points, though. I can always just add my own. Nothing greasy here - just very fresh and filling. I enjoyed it. I had to add some wonton soup to the order (minimum is 10.00 for delivery), but it's really hard to screw up wonton soup, so I'm confident that it'll taste right when I want it later on. I've only had one really bad experience here, and when I called, they made it right with no issue, so I'm satisfied with it. The Singapore style noodle dishes are really good, too - that used to be my go-to dish here, but I've been in more of a sushi mood as of late. If you don't set your expectations too high, you'll probably enjoy the food here. It's not fancy or pretentious, nor does it pretend to be. (01/17/2014) Got delivery to the office, they're one of the few places that will deliver sushi. Took a little while, a little over an hour, but food was hot. Got a few additions to an Eel Roll (avocado, cream cheese); was sufficient, just about as good as any of the random sushi places around town. General Tso's was average, good portion, mostly sugar, not too distinct in flavor, very orange-colored; side of fried rice was dark with soy. Steamed Pork Dumplings looked like the Chinese kind, possibly housemade, large, thick, chewy skin, plump with ground pork. Overall unremarkable, but not bad. These guys are always fast and friendly for delivery, and never mess up orders. I've probably ordered from here about 40 times over the last couple of years. General Tso's and Orange Chicken are always good. Stick with the Chinese menu, unless you're a vegetarian. The meat used in some of the dishes is what you'd expect of extremely inexpensive takeout. The curries and Thai noodle dishes are much better without meat. If you want really high quality Thai or Japanese, go to Thai Restaurant or Ra - it's completely unreasonable to expect from a place at this price point. read more

This is the only place that does delivery to where I live so when my husband and I want sushi this is where we order online from. They're not fantastic but it's a good fix for a craving, we haven't ordered much outside of sushi but when my sisters visit they order their chinese and have always enjoyed it. They messed up an order once so I called and they happily and speedily corrected it. I have allergies and sometimes like a roll to be made a certain way and they've been great with accommodating/altering any substitutions. Its usually the same driver who delivers to us and if he isn't rushing out to another house we chat for a few minutes, they're very friendly and personable there. The tuna rolls used to be fantastic but now they're just o-k. I do, however, LOVE their sweet potato rolls, tastes exactly like the ones I used to get near my place in NYC. If you arent setting your expectations to the moon you can easily be surprised when they knock a meal up from good to really great, overall the food is fresh and enjoyable. read more

The 3 rolls for $12 was great value for money and would definitely order again! Delivery was prompt and on time and were kind enough to call me upon arrival. The Mongolian beef tasted good but had very little beef and was mainly onions and mushrooms. Luckily I like onions and mushrooms otherwise I would probably score them less. Will definitely be my go to sushi place. EDIT: I always order from Grubhub and pay by card but in this one instance the delivery driver insisted I hadn't paid and wouldn't give me the delivery until I pay by cash. I reluctantly paid and checked the order which I had paid by cash. I called the restaurant and they sorted it very quickly and had a very angry delivery driver return the cash. First, I'm reviewing 5 stars for their delivery service -- They're always on time, and their food is consistent and tasty. Plus, they actually *call* and make sure I ordered correctly! This is my go-to Chinese/Japanese delivery place. See, on their menu they have 3 sushi rolls for $13 -- which is a great deal. But I normally like handrolls (the ice cream cone shaped sushi, not the maki type of sushi which is cut into pieces). They actually have a note next to my Eat24 account that I like hand rolls, and make sure they deliver handrolls. But tonight, I'm sharing sushi, which means the maki pieces. They actually called me to confirm that I wanted maki, not handrolls. How considerate! (Psst -- I really recommend the hand rolls, especially the california and the salmon/avocado. They give a huge chunk of salmon and avocado, and the california is brimming with fake krab meat. Mmmm.) Plus, their food has been consistently decent -- and they handle raw fish, which means they need to be on top of their dishes. I've ordered here over 8 times and have never gotten sick. Other than the 3 sushi rolls deal, I've enjoyed their thai beef salad (the beef isn't great quality but you're getting a lot of greens and a delicious lemongrass dressing for less than $6). I also would recommend their Singapore fried noodles (oily, but a fair amount of vegetables and lots of flavor, especially if you ask for it extra spicy). Pretty good option for food delivery to your hotel. The sushi and appetizers I ordered were great. Delivered earlier than expected.

When i placed my order i forgot to specify what type of drink i wanted, less than a minute later the cashier (possibly the owner) called to verify my order. He was very polite and patient. I ordered the General Tso chicken with veg fried rice . The food was okay, but the chicken was very chewing . There's nothing more tiring than chewing your food for too long lol. I had my food delivered, the delivery man was nice and arrived much sooner than i anticipated. The thing i liked most about Asian Harbor is the customer service, the people i interacted with were very polite. I ordered take-out late on a Saturday night and picked it up. This was my first experience and after reading the other reviews avoided the Thai food, instead opting to get a dinner combo of Mongolian Chicken along with a Spring Roll to bring my bill just over $10 so I could get 10% off (when ordering online). The egg drop soup was ok, nothing special. The veggie spring rolls were nice and crispy, also nothing special, and needed some duck sauce to provide flavor. The Mongolian Chicken arrived with the chicken and onions on one side and the white rice on the other. Unfortunately the Mongolian Chicken had very little taste or sauce. It was pretty bland and could really have used a kick or some flavor. I added soy sauce. Ugh. I'm hoping some of their other dishes are better. read more

I've only ordered Chinese and pan-Asian style food from this location since I discovered it. They deliver usually earlier than the predicted time. Even if they didn't, though, people should know that that time prediction is only an estimation and judging based on that is slightly ridiculous. Their cheesesteak rolls and vegetable rolls are to die for. I am obsessed with them. The seaweed salad is perfect; large in size and I like that they add some cucumber at the bottom (kind of cleanses the palate). All the entree dishes can have tofu, which is cooked well. Their sauces are generally well made with good taste and they don't drown the rest of the contents. They also have great combo deals that you can't beat elsewhere. And notably, the delivery people are always extremely friendly and one of them remembers me and that makes a difference to me. It's sweet. LOVE THIS PLACE! read more

I like that they have smaller sizes of dishes so that you can get more variety. I have only had delivery orders, so I've never seen what the actual restaurant looks like. They also are a combination style Asian. Which sometimes is good, so if you feel indecisive you can order Thai, sushi and Chinese all at once. Which lets me honest, sometimes you want a mini buffet. Well, this is a good place to really satisfy all those cravings at once. The drawback of course, is that as with many combination Asian restaurants they only perform mediocre at each cuisine. However, I'll be back next time I crave pad Thai, shu mai and a dragon roll all at once. read more

We ordered tonight from Asian Harbor for the first time. After ordering we got a message that they were busy and it would be a little longer than normal, still got here faster than most who we have ordered from. Driver was really nice and friendly. When we unpacked everything we were impressed by the quantity of food that we got. The quality was impressive also from our soups to the egg roll to the main course and of course the desert too. We will definitely order from them again but not too soon as we have lots of leftovers from tonight to enjoy again. Most definitely would recommend them to everyone who likes Chinese food. read more

They called about the soda they didn't have as cold which I appreciate. The food and drinks came in a timely manner. The dumplings were amazing.
