I live 5 minutes away so going here is easy & fast. Normally I get a meal with no veggies, but this was a pick up order. When I brought this home I was highly disappointed with amount of chicken to peas. I know meat costs them more than vegetables but this is kinda much. THE BEST ASIAN FOOD EVER !!! I come all the way from San Jose to visit HMB and I always have dinner here. The food is impecable and super delicious. From beef to shrimp, veggie chowmein, pork buns everything is fantastic ! This trip I did take a surprise to find out the building is up for sale. So I hope Asian king stays open even if relocated. Unfortunately, this was the worst curry I think I've had!! I LOVE curry and I don't tend to be picky, but the chicken was super rubbery, and the curry itself had an unpleasant texture, and lacked flavor. This spot is phenomenal with the quality of their food. The veggies are always fresh and everything is cooked when you order it. I haven't had welted vegetables from here and that's a huge plus. Asian King's kitchen has always been consistent with their service for take out, delivery and dine in. The family who owns and runs this establishment are very pleasant and if you have a dietary restriction or want to replace an item in their dish they are willing to do it without a lot of hassle. However, I recommend if you're going to opt for a different ingredient in a dish always be willing to pay an additional cost. It's their time and effort they give to accommodate your needs. I highly recommend their lunch specials and their vegetarian dishes. I've tried different dishes from each of their protein categories and vegetable entrees. I had been here YEARS ago pretty much right when the opened up for lunch plates and didn't remember it being great. I had a place in Pacifica that I really liked so for years I never went back despite the fact that I live only 2 miles or less away. We were in the mood for chinese and decided to go and check it out on a take-out for dinner. Got a dinner special and it was really pretty darn good. If you want to eat healthy then you will probably need to go off the ala carte menu. But the dinner for 2 was a ton of food and we had leftovers for lunch the next day. For me this is more a lunch plate or to-go as the restuarant is pretty low key but in a pinch i would sit there. They were very nice too which was sort of against what our memory was of the place. read more

Best Chinese food between Montara and Half Moon Bay. Im vegetarian and love the vegetable chow mein, the pad thai and eggplant and tofu. The vegetables are really fresh and well cooked; they aren't too soggy. I usually order in and they deliver after 5:30pm. Highly recommend. read more

Was at Half Moon Bay and I know you're supposed to eat seafood here but was craving Chinese food so Asian King's Kitchen it is. We were seated immediately on a weekend lunch and it wasn't super crowded. We order 4 dishes for 4 people which definitely was too much - can order 3 dishes for 4 people the next time I come. - Eggplant and Tofu with Basil - I really appreciated the tofu they used for this dish as it was extremely tender and had almost like an egg tofu consistency to it. I did think the dish was a bit too oily though. - General Tso's Chicken - Usually I try to avoid this dish because it feels too fatty for me but this was actually delicious here. The fried outer breading wasn't too heavy and the chicken was extremely tender and flavorful. This is definitely 10 times better than that at Panda Express. - Beef Chow Fun - Wasn't super memorable but wasn't disappointing as well as all the flavors were spot on. - Combination Fried Rice - I really appreciated how many different ingredients they had in this fried rice and the fact that it was a bit more "wet". I feel like a lot of American-made Chinese food often are extremely dry, think Panda Express, and it becomes hard to eat but this place actually made it pretty authentically I would say. Overall, not a bad place for food at all despite its generic name. All their flavors were spot on and authentic and will definitely cure any of your Chinese food cravings. read more

While in Half Moon Bay, Asian King's Kitchen is a must. It's probably some of the best Chinese food I've ever had. Out of the six days I was in in the city l ate here five times. On two of the visits I seen other people that were also there the day before and came back like myself to experience more goodness...lol. A short ten minute drive from The Ritz Carlton resort (post soon to come) it's centrally located in the city. I decided on takeout each time, but the inside was well lit, clean, and several people were inside dining. I'm ashamed that I only took pictures of one the meals I had. But by the time I got back to the resort, I dug in quickly. The best thing I ordered had to be the Fish in Black Bean Sauce (pictured) and the General Tso's Chicken (not pictured). This place is sooo good! We just moved here and I'm so lucky to have such a delicious Chinese food restaurant so close. The food is always fresh, hot, and full of flavor. The staff is super friendly and attentive, the food comes out quickly and the servings are soooo worth the price. The chili sauce they serve on the table is the perfect heat and flavor. Delicious Chinese food can be found at Asian King's Kitchen! This restaurant is such a local gem! The restaurant is located right of highway 1, in the Roosevelt Beach area of Half Moon Bay. I like to dine here and report to you that this restaurant deserves my 5 Yelp stars from me. Here are my report: 1- Ample parking spaces 2- Not have to wait for a table 3- The restaurant is clean and the space between tables are perfect for Covid precautions. 4- This restaurant is dingy, like a mom and pop one of the kind with a hole in the wall place. 5- No MSG in the Chinese cuisine! 6- Food plates are served super hot, super fresh, clean and great portions, tasty, and delicious! 7- Fried dishes are not greasy! 8- The menu is quite extensive. You will find a your favorite dish! 9- Casual, laid-back, comfortable, family-friendly ambiance and an affordable menu! 10- Great services! I confess that I really like "American-friendly" Chinese food rather than lots of the authentic "just like in China" offerings in the Bay Area, and I think Asian King's Kitchen hits the nail on the head. I ordered a very pedestrian meal of egg rolls, hot-and-sour soup, General's Chicken, Veg Fried Rice and Szechuan Broccoli on my way home from a long drive. My food was waiting from me when I arrived 15minutes later and the delicious smell made the 1/4 mile drive home pretty hard since I was starving by this time. Not many other options after 8:30pm in HMB and glad they are open until 9pm during the week! This is the 2nd review for this restaurant that I have done, and the only 2nd review I have ever done for any place. Not only is food great, the service and delivery are fast and very courteous. So courteous in fact, I was asked how I was doing as soon as I entered the restaurant only to realize I lost my wallet after already calling my order in. I was told not to worry, to take the food and call him with a credit card when I can. I love the honey walnut prawns so it's a good day. Half Moon Bay Chinese restaurant, seems to focus on mainstream take out for "American" palates, i.e., vaguely recognizable as traditional Chinese (fried rice, chow mein, hideous sweet and sour, honey walnut shrimp, etc.). Nothing wrong with that, it's a business strategy, but prepare your expectations accordingly. Chefs come and go, I've been here before and it was decent for a Hwy stop of hot and sour soup on a cold day. I made the mistake of ordering Sichuan eggplant based on a generous memory; big mistake. What arrived was, clumsy, inept, shockingly drenched in sauce, very sweet, very salty, slightly spicy with very few eggplant and celery tucked underneath. I should have sent it back! but soldiered on, drained the sauce as best I could. I showed the server (owner?) the plate full of sauce- he did not comment or extend an apology and just took the money. Hi ho- took hours to get that taste out of my mouth. I'm often in SF, will stick to what mostly Chinese people are eating there in town- they would not tolerate this sub-standard cuisine. I've seen this place about a hundred times in my life driving down the highway and I've finally decided to stop in and try it. The staff here was so friendly and the restaurant was cozy. I ordered my food to go so I could enjoy it on the beach. Surprisingly, it traveled really well. I had the salt and pepper fish and the orange chicken. Even though I had driven by it several hundreds of times I had never been so it was the perfect opportunity! We ordered the chicken chow mein, honey walnut shrimp, and deep fried potstickers and were not disappointed! The chicken chow mein was perfection, loved the onions in it as well. Honey walnut shrimp got rave reviews from my boyfriend (and he loves honey walnut shrimp)! The deep fried potstickers were SO GOOD. Highly highly recommend!!
