Good portion with choice of spring roll or egg roll and white or fried rice. I had the Hunan with Tofu. It's enough for lunch & dinner. Menu prices were not updated so be prepared to be charged $1.00 more for your entree, which is why I gave a four star rating. I was warned that the Hunan is spicy. It is quite spicy, but tasty. However, on Christmas Eve, I went back and ordered the Hunan with chicken. The cook omitted the spices; thus omitted the taste. read more

We ordered Kung Pao Chicken and Moo Shu Pork. Neither tasted like or had the basics of each dish. The Kung Pao had a watery brown sauce with at least five vegetables (carrots, squash, mushrooms etc.), plain slices of chicken breast, peanuts , and hot pepper flakes. The common ingredients for cooking this Sichuan dish are marinated chicken, peanuts, stir-fried with orange or orange juice, ginger, garlic, chicken broth, sugar, cooking oil, corn starch, and salt and pepper to taste. No resemblance between the two. The Moo Shu Pork consisted of extremely greasy overcooked, over salted julienned cabbage, pork with hoisin sauce on the side. The pancakes were stuck together and could not be eaten whole. The real dish has julienned pork, sliced cabbage, scrambled egg, thinly sliced carrot, and wood-eared mushrooms served with hoisin sauce with whole pancakes. Sarasota has a Chinese food problem and it certainly hasn't been solved by this place. read more

We have been in Florida for 5 years.. we have tried many places around..and I think my husband and I would both agree, this is the best Asian food we have had in a very long time. My husband ordered the Dragon Phoenix.. shrimp was cooked perfectly and the chicken was delicious. The perfect amount of breading...and the sauce..just wow!! I ordered the Shrimp Thai Curry.. I could have drank that sauce with a straw...it was AMAZING!! We also started with an order of fried dumplings..omg!!! We have plenty of food to eat..plus plenty to take home for our 16 yr old son..lol. And best of all.. the gentleman working was so polite and friendly.. we will be returning very soon!!! read more

My husband and I have lived in the Bay Area and Hawaii and are picky about Chinese food. It is hard to find food as good as you get in those places. Asian Kitchen is an exceptional exemption. Everything we have ordered here is super tasty. Their ribs are the best my husband has ever had--crispy and full of flavor. Their crab wontons are the best we have had as well. We also enjoy their fried rice, vegetable yellow curry and noodle dishes. As a vegetarian, I appreciate the fact that they use fresh vegetables. The owner, Sam, is very personable and stands by his food. all the people who work there are gracious. This atmosphere is bare bones, but the food more than makes up for it. read more

Besides me ordering orange chicken instead of sweet and sour chicken for my wife, this food was fantastic. Luckily she isn't pregnant, so no tears were involved. Egg rolls are big, two of those bad boys with your meal will certainly fill you up. The large chicken fried rice certainly is large as well. The orange chicken was great, not over breaded which I REALLY appreciate. Mongolian beef also did not disappoint. This is one of the most bland Chinese restaurants I've been to. I ordered pork fried rice, general tsao's chicken and beef and broccoli with an egg roll. The pork fried rice was literally just white rice, some soy sauce and a little bit of pork - I haven't seen a restaurant phone it in with their fried rice with no effort like this. The general tsao's chicken was average an nothing to write home about. The egg roll had too much dough and felt too chewy. The beef and broccoli was very disappointing. The beef here is supposed to be soft and velvety but not here. This is just slice cheap beef that's hard as old flip flops. Why are people going to this place? Was fairly skeptical having lived in Sarasota for the past 6 years w/o a go to Chinese spot...that search is over, I finally found it here! Wife and I shared an order of fried wontons...massive a hunk of port, well seasoned, we'd order them again. We also shard a small bowl of hot n sour soup which was very chunky w meat and vegs, we'd order it again and finally our main course...we shared...Kung Pao Chicken extra spicy at it was the bomb. I gave this place a 3 only because we are all dealing with COVID 19 and restaurants deserve a pass right now. They are dealing with a lot. If not for that I would've given it a 1 star. Orange chicken was over cooked, hard and rubbery. Fried rice was dry. How can FRIED rice be dry? Don't think they used any oil. Meat in rice was almost nonexistent. I ordered pork but not sure what I received. Egg rolls should be crunchy not hard. My whole meal was disappointing. My wife and I arrived in Siesta Key a couple of days ago. We both unfortunately are suffering with colds and sore throats (not covid). We decided that soup would be our best option for dinner. We found the Asian Kitchen on Yelp and the reviews were excellent. We now wholeheartedly agree with the positive reviews. We had the Hong Kong Wonton soup and and it was just what the Dr. ordered.The wontons were perfect and the broth with scallions, black mushrooms and bok choy really tasty . We also split Pork with String beans with a little spice and brown rice. The waitress and Chef both were extremely nice and welcoming . Will not order again. The beef lo mein, chicken veggie stir fry, and fried pork rice were not good. Would say they're right there with the worst we've ever had. Would give zero stars if I could. Decided to try somewhere new and found this place on Yelp. Closing time was posted on Yelp, google and their own sign in the window as being 9:30. We arrived at 8:50 and were told they were closing and given attitude when I pointed out the inconsistency in closing time. Then the menu we were handed didn't have the same options as shown on their website and when I inquired about a certain dish I was again was met with attitude. As someone who works in the restaurant industry the whole experience was an absolute turn off and there is zero chance I will return or recommend this place. Consistency and customer service are two of the most important things to get and keep business and I can say they certainly failed at both. read more

Picked this place based on Yelp reviews. The food was awesome. The shrimp had that steamed firmness where it cooked just right. So many times Shrimp is overcooked in Chinese. The calamari was also perfect, not rubbery. The tofu I like a bit more browned but it also wasn't falling apart with the vegetables. The veggies were fresh steamed I think not fried. Al in all the food was excellent and better than the appearance of the storefront or interior- a pleasant surprise. On the menu the price was $13.99 though and when I received my bill, it said over $16 with tax. The only thing I had was the food, so why I asked? The waitress or owner said the price was $14.99 not $13.99. I said, no the menu says $13.99. Well things have increased in price with supplies I am told. Hmm, maybe they should put a sign up that says that! Nothing I hate more than questioning the bill after my meal. Don't leave people upset. Her answer should have been oh, so sorry, you're right, let me fix. It's a dollar to me but it is more than $1 issue because I start thinking every customer you rip for a $1 or so extra adds up and is greedy. read more

This is the gold mine of Chinese takeout. From the crispy egg rolls to wonton soup to the Singapore noodles, and salt & pepper chicken ... I'm highly impressed with their food. I was craving all the above and it delivered more than anticipated. Food is delicious, the lady on the phone is very nice and attentive, food arrived quickly and kept hot during delivery. Looks are deceiving. Food is excellent. Friendly owners. I had mild cashew chicken with lots of white meat chicken and a good variety of veggies with a delicious, tasty sauce. The combo came with egg roll and rice. My husband had chicken egg foo yung. Nice and crispy with good gravy on the side. We definitely recommend this place. I am very sad to write this review. My boys and I have been loyal customers for over 5 years. We don't have a lot of surplus income, when we do, we place an order every 3-4 months. I am no longer able to eat rice. Therefore, I placed a delivery order for Mu Shu Chicken. It was horrible. It tasted like lighter fluid smells. I called immediately and was told they couldn't refund me the purchase. Sam, the owner said he'd give me a credit on my next order, within a 2 week period. I explained that wouldn't be possible as we aren't able to order again so soon. His reply was he'd leave my i information for the next time I called. I tried calling in January but no one answered. Therefore, I called today. Our income tax has come in which meant we could afford to place an order, Today, I called and was remembered yet denied the credit. I could hear the owner in the background repeatedly saying, he gave me two weeks. Maybe some families can order every other week. Maybe some families don't mind paying for something inedible. We aren't one of them. Being treated with in a manner of disdain and indifference is not a business I will any longer support. read more
