I came to Asian Momo House because of Dinning Rewards for airline miles. I would never know about this place because it's a food truck. Thank goodness I didn't bring my family to have a meal. This restaurant looks like a joke. There is a semi-covered area for "dining". I ordered my food and waited at the tent area. The place is quite open, including flying insects. Of course, I have to take my food back to my hotel room. I was busy waving flies. I used to come by this strip mall pretty often when I lived in Sunnyvale. Across street was 24 hour Fitness. Not sure what it is now. Parking lot and the building looked very different. I think it's a good idea to use the empty parking lot for food truck park. I had momo before and I know what I told cashier that I specifically want Jhol Momo. Because I want something soupy. Then, I ordered a ginger tea. When I got my order took to my hotel room to find out... where is the soup? I got just momo no soup. Ginger tea tasted like plain chai. I was not particularly happy. Woo, some amazing indo Chinese food. The spiciest I have had in a while in the Bay Area. Each and everything made me appreciate the flavors and the spices a lot. Except this truck was the only one that was operating on a Saturday! They have outdoor seating with tents overhead. The only downside is that the tables were quite dirty and it just didn't feel sanitary. Their hand sanitizer dispenser was also empty. |FOOD & ORDERING| Ordering was straightforward and the food was fair for the amount. I paid for two boxes of dumplings and samosas which came out to be around $32. We waited about 10-15 min after ordering before we got our food. Included were two sauce containers with our dumplings. The brown sauce was milder than the red sauce, for those with a lower spice tolerance. The amount of dumplings were incredibly filling and substantial! Flavor, filling, and texture-check! The food here at this nepalese food truck place is absolutely on mark. I always enjoy the nepalese cooking style with some Indian flavors to it. This was recommended by one of my friend and coming back again for sure. The chicken jhol momo with the sauce in it is super good as you can taste the sauce and momo in every bite. The sauce is also not too saucy, it got exact texture for the momo. The other items we ordered were egg fried rice, chicken chow mein and gobi manchurian. Every dish hit the spot - the momos were very spicy (be warned), the chow mein was better than many Chinese restaurants I've tried, and the Gobi Manchurian is crispy and crumbles apart in your mouth. Portion sizes are great - these 3 dishes + rice was enough for 3 people with plenty of leftovers. I really appreciated how they gave us rice on the side for free instead of charging us since we said we just wanted a little. :) The Sweet Lime soda is made fresh on the spot and tastes like the Masala Soda you get commonly in India/Indian Restaurants. So, I went to this place because I got a BOGO free offer from them on FB. I asked for the deal based on the FB app etc. Both the guys operating the food truck seemed FoBs and could not converse in English- so I switched to Hindi and told them I wanted Chicken Fried Rice BOGO offer and made the payment. I waited a short while and got my order. Since it was a ToGo order I made sure there were 2 food containers and off I went home. Upon arrival my wife got the containers out and looked at me and asked if I ate some while driving!! It looked like one container was not filled fully. This food created a "explosion of flavors" in my mouth (in a good way!). Ordered the Chili Paneer, the Gobi Manchurian (cauliflower), and the Chili Chicken Momo. Food was ready in ~5 minutes and decent portions. The orange sauce in the to-go bag helped to add even more flavor complexity. For next time, I will order one dish of carbs such as white rice, fried rice, or noodles to balance some of the chili flavor. I will definitely be going back! Yummy!! read more

This was some of the best momos (chicken and veggie) and chowmein I've had in the Bay Area! That chowmein took me right back to my years spent devouring street food in Delhi (hard to get that kind of greasy and salty magnificence!) Craving some Momo the other day and saw this food truck just opened up. Normally I never attempt to just go to a food truck for fear they are never open but this place clearly said they were open mid day on a Sunday so came to check it out. Gentleman greeted me and explained the menu to me. They basically have two types of momo one veggie and one chicken. They also have a chili momu which is their chicken one and they add chili sauce on top with Sereno peppers onions and bell pepper. Asked to get the veggie one that way and he said no problem. Other veg menu items they have are chow mein noodles with veggies and a fried rice with veggies. All the dishes run about $7-9. The guy said it would take 15 minutes to make up and offered a free milk tea which I passed on but it was a nice gesture. Food came out much quicker more like 5 minutes. They had 2 big plastic hot sauce bottles one spicy one mild. Spicy one tasted like Mexican chili sauce and had good heat. Momos were not bad. They had what looked like onions and ground veggies inside. The dough on the outside was slightly thick and chewy and the sauce was a little overpowering and a bit too salty for my taste. Inside veggies were a bit lacking of something.. Overall a nice little truck to check out. The momos were good but if I had to compare them with Urban Momo I'd say there were not as flavorful.
