This location was pretty good! Service was good and the food was fresh, fast and our order was correct. I will be back to visit but I will try more menu options to see how their food is outside of the sushi.

Update 2020: My husband and I went there today and ordered two specials: 1) stir fried beef and potato; 2) beef and turnip stew. "Beef and potato" has been my all time favorite--consistently good, very authentic Chinese flavor. "Beef and turnip stew" is a bit disappointing for two reasons: 1) not enough turnip; 2) the beef is too tough and salty. But I'm glad that they've come up with more specials. (BTW, you'll need to be able to read Chinese--all specials except for daily special are writing in Chinese at the entrance, which probably because they are truly Chinese dishes, not Americanized Chinese food.) What distinguishes this place from other Chinese restaurants in town is that they do over some authentic specials. My favorite is Volcano Beef. I give four instead of five stars because I find about one time out of five, the same food can taste slightly different and less perfect. Updates: We go there frequently. Yet I'm getting frustrated at the fluctuation of the food quality and quantity. It's still one of my favorite restaurants but they really need to implement some quality control.

Scales are 1 to 5 with 5 =Best Decor: 3- nothing fancy about this place. Well dining area wise. It could use a little so over and the time of writing this they actually got new menus because I could barely read the old ones!. The fish tanks in the middle are nice. The art on the wall seems to be random pieces but whatever I mean I didn't come here for the art lol. On the flip side my child said the bathroom look. Like something that belongs in the the emperor's Palace lol. Service: 5 - service is always impeccable here. I have never had a problem with my food ordering or getting the correct food that I ordered. They are quick to serve you and get your drinks as soon as you sit down. Food: 4- So seeing as how there is not that many sushi restaurants around Savannah anymore or even open for that matter this place seems to be doing pretty dang good. The sushi is really delish and presented nicely. I can't speak on the quality of any other food because I only order sushi when I go here. however I can comment on the appetizers of the fried pork dumplings. Do yourself a favor don't order them. I mean maybe I made a mistake I didn't come here for pork dumplings only for sushi so I guess the sushi is where I need to stick to huh. If you were in the area of Oglethorpe Mall looking for some decent sushi give this place a try I promise it won't let you down

Ingredients are fresh, perfect spot for lunch! We come here often. They have a great build your own poke bowl.

Mermaid roll, King Crab roll, Philadelphia roll, Dynomite roll I can't remember the others.

Enjoyed a nice meal here. Food was good and service was excellent. We ordered the pork buns as appetizers and then 6 different rolls. The lo mein was the best I have ever had. I ordered honey walnut shrimp & chicken plate. The shrimp were huge. Then we ordered bubble tea which was great.

    Dynamite Roll (half eaten...oops)

Took it to go - a last minute decision. Very clean, nice and friendly. I didn't have to wait long & the rolls were delicious I ate before I remembered to snap photos

One of the better authentic Chinese restaurants. Dishes tend to be on the oily side, but in China I was told it was a sign of wealth to be liberal with it (back in the day)so you can eat like royalty here! I often order the Hunan Chicken with, you guessed it, chili oil and a nice assortment of veggies. The string beans are nice and crisp with a sate sauce that might not appeal to everyone. The flash fried calamari is a banquet staple and probably the best in the area, but I am not crazy about their batter. I also wasn't a fan of the lamb because it was drenched in sauce. The waitress highly recommended the fish hot pot that is for larger parties. I used to avoid this place when it was a buffet, but now it has a regular menu. It recently added an all you can eat sushi option, which I have never tried.

Love the variety of food here! And the lunch specials that start at $10 are hard to beat. You can make your own poke bowl!

Craving Sushi, decided to pop into this spot. Typically on a Monday sushi spots close early or are either closed. I'm glad my friend and I decided to give this place a try. Lord and behold I was disappointed. Everything from the starters to the rolls were amazing. I came in with a big appetite and my stomach was fulfilled. My friend and so enjoyed every bit. That Yummy Roll (OMG) was bomb. The restaurant is small but cute. Service was great. I will return.

The food at this restaurant was very good. I ordered take out. There was an array of selections to choose including Japanese cuisine with a full range of appetizers, and sushi including sashimi, hand rolls, etc. They also had a substantial selection of authentic Chinese dishes to choose from. I ordered Hot & Spicy Chicken which is a stir fry with Green peppers, Scallions, Jalapeños in a Hot chili sauce. It was spicy & the chicken & veggies were perfectly cooked. I also ordered the Chow Fun (wide flat noodles) with Chicken. It is a stir fry with egg, garlic & bean sprouts. It almost has a very slight roasted flavor to it). Both portions were generous. You could easily share both entrees among 3 adults & everyone would have enough. I ordered take out so I can't vouch for the wait service. But my take out order was ready 15 mins after calling it in & it was piping hot when I arrived home. They included plastic dinnerware, duck & soy sauce & napkins in the takeout order. Asian River is a full service restaurant. The interior is decorated nicely with lacquer tables, Chairs, & Chinese wall art & plants. When I picked up the order, the staff was very nice & pleasant. It was also very clean. It had a very relaxing, quiet, easy going, professional vibe. I did not notice any music piped overhead. The restaurant is situated in the Kroger Shopping complex. It is in a mini strip mall in front of Dick's Sporting Goods & next to Jason's Deli. I thoroughly enjoyed both entrees. I would absolutely patronize this restaurant again. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED! ENJOY!

Update: Food here is SO GOOD and so fresh. We ordered the salmon poke bowl and it was still the best. Ingredients were so fresh and delicious. Salmon was amazing and they didn't skimp out on any ingredients I definitely got my money worth. We also got the mala pork dumplings and OMG they were so great. The skin was thin with lots of meat inside and lots of flavor. PERFECT. The only complaint I have is that I ordered the extra hot version and it wasn't very spicy for me but hey, we are in the south so it's alright i know people down here don't like food too spicy lol. Anyways, the sauce was delicious on the dumplings and poke bowl was spot on. I would definitely order these two items again and again. Ordered online for pickup and had my order ready for me right on time. Perfect for these times so I can run in and out. Totally worth it and the best in Savannah.

First thing, it's not advertised but they do offer AYCE sushi! I'm only ever interested in the speciality rolls, which are unlimited, but there are limits on the Sashimi. I tried the following rolls, all of which earned positive results from my taste buds: Dragon Roll Savannah Roll Diamond Roll Hot Night Roll - Roll with cream cheese our waitress recommended. Hard Rock Roll - one of their most popular rolls. Asian River Roll - this one comes with a kick I wasn't prepared for. I'm not picky about what I need to have in my sushi rolls. If you are, they have a good selection of different rolls, probably about 2 dozen, and they also have what I consider to be the "plain" rolls. I also ordered the Steam Pork Buns, which is not included in the AYCE price, but it is a must try. Very warm, fluffy, and meaty. To end my meal, I had a lychee boba drink to-go. They have a decent selection of flavors, to include honeydew, coconut, and earl grey. The boba itself was not at all chewy and was hard in the center. The drink was a milky lychee which I had never tasted before. This boba drink did not blow my mind, but considering how good the meal was and that it satisfied my craving, it worked for me. I hope I can fine more AYCE sushi places in town, otherwise I'm coming back for more.

It doesn't exist! It's closed down. Don't waste your time trying to find it! We dive around the Kroger parking lot and called but no answer.

We had their crispy spicy tuna appetizer with crispy square rice on the bottom and they were so good. For the main entree I ordered their butabara kimchi ramen and it was what I needed, the broth was rich, savory, and the kimchi really brings the broth flavor more dimensional. The ramen noodle texture was cooked to perfection and the pork belly paired so well in this ramen. My husband ordered the A5 wagyu rib eye and the steak melt in your mouth. We sprinkle the sea salt and dipped it in the quail yolk dashi juice and it was perfection! It is definitely a gem restaurant for Savannah! Truly amazing food experience!

There's a great selections of Japanese Whiskey, Sake and cocktails. We had a reservation and when we entered it was a bit confusing with people all over the place in the entrance not sure whether waiting to speak to the hostess or just casually waiting to be called for their table. After getting sorted we spoke to the hostess and then were shortly seated. The waiter came and took our drink orders right away. We got 2 cokes and a Whiskey Sour with Japanese Whiskey. After waiting about 15 min the waiter came back to take our food order, however we still had not gotten our drinks. We asked and said they were coming swiftly. Finally after 10 minutes later our drink orders came in. The cokes were flat but the Whiskey Sour was really good. I can't remember the waiters name but honestly she came by maybe 4 times the whole night and did not have the best attitude. The best thing about Ukiyo hands down was the food. Everything from the Ramen to the wagyu bao buns, just Wow. The wagyu was so crispy and just melted in your mouth. The ramen had amazing flavor profiles and was perfectly spiced. We also ordered the Chicken Karaage and this was so tender with the citrus mayo. This was also pretty big so were easily filled with all these dishes. The food and cocktails were amazing but the service really did disappoint from the delays and infrequent interactions.

We tried their PHO and PAD THAI dishes --- both excellent --- as were the Shrimp Spring Rolls. The offerings via the menu present a more diverse and broader range of foods --- more South East Asian overall. The good news is we find the offerings here, in our limited experience, to be excellent. Highly recommended.

I find it nice and comforting when it is clear that many other patrons to a small restaurant are obviously regulars. There wouldn't be regulars if a place wasn't good! That said, my meal was mostly kind of meh. I got the Vietnamese crepe, which is more like an omelet, and I think I just ordered something that didn't hit my palate right. My guy was happy with his meal (pho), but I found mine a little bland and wanting. I am sure other things would have been better, I just chose the wrong thing to order. Service was pretty good and I can see this as being a solid, every day lunch spot for folks in the area.
