Ordered delivery from here for the first time the other night and was disappointed. We ordered two kani salads, edamame, sweet and sour soup and shrimp pad Thai. The kani was described as having the usual crunchy bits on top as well as avocado. The kani salads that came were a whole bunch of romaine lettuce, a scoop of dry imitation crab and just some spicy mayo on the side (not in/mixed) and nothing else on top. I love kani salads and have never had one like this. The soup was inedible. It tasted like a bowl of soy sauce with some weird oyster sauce in it. It was the saltiest most horrible tasting soup. We poured the whole thing down the drain. The pad Thai was fine, nothing special. Edamame was kind of soggy. Will definitely not order again, unfortunately. read more

Best boba in town!!! I'd come here every day if I could. Had the volcano beef as well (didn't get a picture because I ate it too quickly) and that was amazing! Customer service was great. read more

Love their food! Love eating their mala dumpings and their sushi roll naruto is great for anyone avoiding carbs.

The service was poor, the food was mediocre and/or inedible. I returned our tuna tataki as it tasted awful, was gray and iridescent, and I had to vomit within 15 minutes of eating 2 pieces. The manager, who was fielding complaints from 2 other customers at the same time, walked away after we waited 15 minutes for her to take the tuna off of our check. I feel bad for the servers, but ours didn't check on us after she brought our food, did not refill drinks, and didn't really seem to care if we waited forever for our check. Will never spend money here again, and I urge others to avoid it at all costs. read more

I came here with my friends for dinner and because we came across a good deal on Groupon. The food was super delicious and everyone was satisfied. The only reason for the 4/5 rating is because the employees there weren't very engaging. And some of the items that I wanted to order were sold out. Regardless, I would most definitely return for the deal that they have via Groupon. read more

Since this restaurant no longer delivers, We have used Uber eats for delivery. The past four orders have had issues, missing food, wrong direction for food, and price issues. We contact the restaurant and they tell us we need to contact ubereats...Uber eats tell us we need to contact the restaurant. We never receive resolution. Do not order from Asian river...they have not recovered from the pandemic. We once thought they were the best in the area...but no longer. read more

This place has gone down hill. Fast. Used to be our go to place when in Savannah. Never again. Service is horrible. Manager was rude and unprofessional. I had ordered a glass of wine. Left a tip and waited patiently. I guess when i asked about when the order would be ready since it had been twice the amount of time. He didn't like that. I guess we will have to find another place. Too bad. after waiting 45 minutes for food. He thrusted 8 bucks at me and said you no get all the pork. Buns. We had an 80.00 order for the family. Then as i was walking out. Im pretty sure he said and don't come back. read more

Outstanding delivery, with service for HAAF Very fast with steaming hot, fresh food. The flavors and quality are exactly what I look for in green bean chicken, with big enough portions for almost two people. I'll definitely be ordering from them again during my stay in Savannah. read more

This place has decent ratings and I needed delivery- wow thirty dollars down the drain The sushi and sushi rice has clearly been salted , a ridiculous amount, I couldn't even eat it and ended up tossing four rolls :( very disappointing read more

The staff is very friendly (ask for Destiny) and gives great suggestions on what sushi to try. I had the "Hot Night" and " Hard Rock" rolls. They were amazing! I also tried the Pad Thai and it was soooooo flavorful! The lunch special is great- 8.95 for two full rolls. They also have an all you can eat for $22. Great first time experience. I will definitely be back. read more

Great little Chinese spot! Everything was very fresh. We enjoyed the food and watching the fish! Can highly recommend for a quick bite.

Friendly and all you can eat Sushi, this is a winning formula. I have been here twice and both times the Sushi did not disappoint. From where I sit the Savannah scene isn't known for Sushi but it is known for a small cozy feel. This place has that small cozy feel. I will keep coming back here and I plan to bring more friends to share this place with. The Sushi comes out with friendly staff and since it isn't over crowded that means the Sushi is hot when it gets to you. read more

The flavor of the food is not consistent. Sometimes the food tastes good. Other times the same dish tastes horrible. The customer service is poor and unconcerned about making sure that customers are happy. The person who answers the phone is "attitudinal", hostile, and lacks customer service skills. Rather than apologizing and offering to make it "right", she acts like it's not her "problem ". I've been ordering for months, but will no longer spend my money there. read more

I ordered the chicken & mango lettuce wraps, the fried dumplings, and the fried salmon skin & avocado salad. Nothing disappointed... and no issues with the level of service. I wasn't sure what to expect with the salmon skin salad but it consisted of very flavorful chunks of fried salmon pieces w/ skin, some sliced fresh avocado, on top of a bed of chopped lettuce. It comes with a side of spicy sauce, which I didn't use very much of because it's kinda over powering. Tasty! The lettuce wraps were fresh, super juicy, and packed full. The chicken was pulled, not just hunks of random chicken parts. Filling and pretty darn healthy (i think??). I would order this again in a heartbeat. The dumplings were not lacking in meat, which is great. Nice flavor. Wrapping a little on the thick side, but not enough to deter me. As in, I didn't need to remove any to enjoy. Definitely worth checking this place out if you like Asian foods. read more

Any the owner and her husband are sweeter than a peach. Hard working family oriented awesome people. And the food is always high quality. Unlike most places they care and love every dish that exists the kitchen, u can trust ur not getting six day old raw fish or food from the previous day Hahahaha it's always fresh. Always with love good quality! Not cheap people. They're amazing. I love them all. I prefer to have them wait on me than the other serves because they're so much more personable but I think it's because it's their business. Go eat there ya won't regret it! They're one of my favorites and they deliver on post! my favorites Are -shrimp tempura -mala dumplings -poke bowl -Cali roll -lobster roll -pink lady roll -crag Rangoon read more

Ok so they have an awesome sushi lunch special! It is two rolls and a soup or salad for only $10. Sounds awesome right? Well the sushi is subpar. We got the dynamite roll which was actually amazing but the other three rolls we split were honestly kind of gross. The meat was either cold or room temperature when it was supposed to be warm. Just overall great deal but you definitely get what you pay for here. Just a heads up for anyone going. read more

This is one of my favorite Chinese/Asian food restaurants in Savannah. Not only do they offer a variety of great vegetarian options, but their boba is amazing as well. Their vegetarian sushi is some of the best I've had and I highly recommend it! read more

I've ordered from Asian River quite a few times throughout the years. They are good if you can't or don't want to leave the house and have a craving for sushi, ginger salad, miso soup etc. Their sushi is incredibly mediocre. The ingredients are clearly not as fresh as other places. You can see it in the color of the fish, the color of the avocado, and you can taste it. Personally, the sushi at Kroger is fresher than this sushi. If you want amazing sushi, go to Sakura (see other review). The miso soup and ginger salad are okay. The vegetable tempura was pretty inedible. The food is mediocre at best, but for sushi/Asian delivery, they are a good option, just don't expect amazing food. It hits the spot for Asian delivery, but if you can go sit at a restaurant, there are way better places!!! Also, if you have specific requests for your sushi or order, call and make sure they know. There is a notes section on the delivery page, and they never read it. Every time I have put a note, they ignore it and mess my order up. Today the only reason they didn't mess my order up is I didn't order the fancy rolls that I usually change things about. read more

Love their sushi specials pre Coronavirus. During COVID, decided to branch out for takeout hot Chinese food from them. Note to restaurants: we want to support you, but at least get the order right. (We got meat vs veg dumplings.). My main dish was the most flavorless Asian meal I've ever had. Wow, fail. We were supposed to get text updates on our order through their service--nope. read more

Ordered fried rice. It was not fried but steamed with stuff in it. No vegetables either. It tasted okay but not what I ordered. I will fry the leftovers myself and it will be good. How does an Asian place mess up fried rice? Edamame and egg rolls good. read more

Stopped in the restaurant to inquire why our 4 most deliveries were missing items that we were charged for. Manager seemed completely indifferent to the situation. For example, when I showed her the receipt for the most recent delivery, when we were charged for noodles we did not receive, her response was "I don't know". So we're done with Asian River. If you get deliveries from this place, expect complete disappointment. read more

If I could give a negative rating I would! After a long day of moving we finally settled into our hotel and ordered delivery. The order came pretty fast but they forgot the egg rolls and the fried rice that we were up-charged to go with the General Tso's. I ordered the teriyaki chicken. Very bland. My husband got the General Tso's and it was soggy and did not taste like what we've had in the past at other restaurants. The sauce was orange and tangy, too tangy...and after one bite he threw it in the trash. Very disappointed and still hungry read more

Consistently good. Hard to find that sometimes. I almost always get the poke bowl but it is so good and such great value. I have taken many friends here and everyone loves what they get. I always wondered where the good Asian food in Savannah was, well this is where it was! read more

This place needs to get it together or they will be out of business soon. Stop passing out worn out menus. When I was there a piece of packaged tuna sat out on the counter for more than an hour with nothing on it to keep it cool. Dining here for the third time made me sad. Not because of the quality of the food (which was good) or service, but because of seeing the root cause of Savannah's being stuck with countless mediocre Chinese restaurants. During the short time we were in for lunch no less than three parties came in, and promptly left upon seeing this restaurant did not have a buffet (the previous occupant was a Chinese buffet, and not a very good one at that). This restaurant does have some menu items that sound more like what your standard Americanized Chinese restaurants offer. They also offer a *lot* of dishes on its specialties menu that range from the innocuous sounding roast pork to much stranger sounding dishes like large intestine with sour cabbage. Most of this section tends to be seafood based. On this most recent visit I had hot and sour soup and Szechuan peppercorn chicken. The soup was very good, and the chicken dish was good as well (if possibly a bit too spicy for my palate). As a warning, their spicy dishes are the real deal: if you aren't seriously a fan of spicy foods you may be better served avoiding the menu items with the pepper symbol. I think our waitress may have been somewhat new, but she was trying hard so I will give an A for effort. One further note on the quality of the food. On my second trip here I came with some co-workers, one of which is originally from Hong Kong. He tried the roast duck and was raving about how good it was. read more

Worst Pad Thai I've ever had. No flavor, no spice. Tofu wasn't prepared properly and my husbands chicken was rubbery. Over cooked spring rolls. Not my favorite. read more

I feel that some of these positive reviews must be from people paid to write good reviews. We made a large order last night. I was excited to find a place to deliver to HAAF, I should have been more careful. This is the most over priced food I have ever had! I can't believe how much they charge for sub par food. Not only was the food over priced, it was awful! All the sauces had a sour after taste. The only thing that had tasted even slightly good were the dumplings. And those came fried even though I ordered steamed. The sweet and sour sauce was off. It was spicy. The egg rolls were fine, but I would be seriously upset for someone to really mess up an egg roll. We were also charged for extra sweet and sour sauce that we did not receive. The fact that they charge for extra anything is laughable considering their ridiculous prices to begin with. Be wary of this place! I am not the only one who hated this place, just seems I am the only one writing about it. read more

When I used to live in Savannah I was shocked when I actually found authentic Chinese food, and this place definitely delivered in that department. The spicy large intestines and the double pork are amazing, and I still crave those from time to time even though I live in NYC now and have an overwhelming amount of choices when it comes to authentic Chinese food. I wish I could find a restaurant here that serves those dishes using the same exact recipe because its delish. Definitely will come here again if I visit Savannah read more

Easy delivery option! On my super lazy days, I have ordered delivery from Asian River. While their sushi isn't anything extraordinary, it is so easy to use their website to order sushi straight to my door. Their spicy rolls are not very spicy, and I always have to add wasabi for a little extra flavor. While I would probably go elsewhere for better sushi, I always find myself going back to Asian River's website on night's in due to convenience. read more

Best Chinese food Savannah has to offer (which is not saying much but coming from Philadelphia, this place is excellent comparing it to the many other places I have been) seriously. I have tried 2 other places in Savannah, and they do not even come close - I wouldn't waste my time trying anything else. The menu is very eclectic but it also has many basics that may be disguised by a fancy name or lost somewhere in the menu between other items but it is there - i.e. broccoli with brown sauce; add a meat "beef" - there is your tradition beef and broccoli. My personal favorite is their schezwan chicken and spring roles... everything is always fresh there and although it is a bit on the more pricey side, it is def worth it. I get so full on one order but bc it is soooo good have to keep eating! I love it here, a lot to pick from and very very good - never a disappointment. read more

Maybe I'm just a snob, but whoever said this place is authentic is sadly mistaken. The fried calamari was soggy, the "spicy" chicken eggplant had no spice at all, the fried rice was literally white, my sushi came out 10 minutes after my boyfriends food, and both of my sushi rolls had more cream cheese than anything else in them (including the rice). I've never been to a sushi place in savannah since I'm from Atlanta, but if this is a 4 star restaurant, I'll never try one again. read more

Asian River - So much cream cheese - Asian Fusion Near Me - Savannah, Georgia

Hands down the most authentic asian restaurant in Savannah, GA. Given you don't have many choices, but the food here is definitely worth eating. A number of asian restaurants in Savannah are mostly catered to the american palate and is generally asian-american food, so if you are craving for something more authentic this place knows how to do it. Pros: - AMAZING volcano beef. I've eaten in so many restaurants in HK and New York looking for this dish and it's still not as good as this place. It's absolutely spicy and they aren't afraid to make it spicy for Americans. I'm a little tired of eating supposedly spicy food that is 'sweetened' for American tastes okay. It isn't right. - Mapo Tofu is legit here. - fried rice is flavorful and uses the right rice for it. - a huge selection of different types of asian food including (yup) asian american food. It isnt bad, actually. - sushi is great. Cons: - It is on the pricier side for asian food. - The heat might be too much for some. Ask them to town down the heat for some dishes or have the spices on the side. - I would skip the dim sum because it isn't hand made and the wrappers are too thick. read more

I was in Savannah visiting family. When we decided to have our Sunday dinner here. Not too busy, a few people sitting and ordering sushi. I ordered the Lychee Bubble Tea. I never had one. It was interesting, I am not too sure about the bubble, a bit doughy. The vegetable lo mein was a bit over boiled and greasy. The spicy sizzling beef was good, the orange chicken and the fire dragon sushi was awesome. Good choice of my brother's. I think I am missing another appetizer-- Ah! The infamous spring rolls. Crunchy and fresh.. Overall, I enjoyed the company, the food and the city!! Thank you everyone!! read more

This used to be my favorite Asian in Savannah but the last two times I ordered take out it was terrible. The amount of edible beef that they sent was 10% and 90 % fat and gristle. I used to order delivery from here very often. Several times a month. Recently the quality has been absolutely awful.
