Our GFCI receptacles stopped working in our upstairs master bath. I could not identify the specific cause, so I placed a call to ASL. They were able to fit me in the following morning. We had a few ceiling fans that needed to be installed. ASL was fairly priced and able to send someone out within days of our initial request. The technician was polite, listened to my concerns, and very clean. One of the fans he installed is above my bed, and hput a tarp down so as to not leave shoe prints on my bedspread, then he picked up all the remains of the box, and left the little plate that covered the wires hole up. When I mentioned that the fan seemed to tilt when at full speed, he took a second look, made adjustments and made sure I was happy before leaving. Unfortunately the problem re-occurred after ASL came by - there was still a bug in the system somewhere. I called ASL again so that they can send a technician again. The customer service (Karen) never followed up with me until I called again several times (this is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5); finally a different person, Monique. She followed up with me and was able to send a troubleshooting pro Cory. Very simply, I got an "electrical detective". Cory left no stone unturned, and found the problem. Unlike most technicians, Cory does not gloss things over so that he can hop to the next job asap. He really wanted to make sure that the problem is solved once and for all. Walter and The ASL team are great! Got a text, when on the way and was on time. My place will be a multi appointment project as we have several things to get upgraded and I knew that going in. But our first appointment today was excellent, we are extremely happy with Walters work, he made a few item suggestions for my shopping list for future appointments and gave great advice especially in kitchen for high priority safety item that need to be upgraded. He checked to see if everything was grounded, replaced our master bath lights and ballast, also some switches and outlets that were in poor shape. The recessed lights in our dining room were flickering and strobing for the last several months. After trying unsuccessfully to fix the issue ourselves, we called ASL Electric to come take a look. Jerry arrived on a Friday afternoon in the pouring rain and quickly diagnosed the problem as an issue with our dimmer switch. The wall control panel for my garage door opener wasn't getting power consistently. I found ASL on Yelp after my usual electrician (Armes) was going straight to voicemail. I called, and the scheduler (Rebecca?) got me setup with a same-day appointment since they had a cancellation. Booking was super smooth and they send email and text notifications for everything - confirmation, arrival, invoice, etc. Brennan was the electrician, and he was amazing. Not only did he discover and fix the issue (some taped together wires in my garage ceiling which should have had wire nuts holding them together), he also fixed my botched attempt to install a drywall anchor for the control panel and lengthened the wires going into the door opener itself since the opener's original installer left a bunch of wires hanging out, preventing the plastic door from closing. Brennan got everything done within an hour, was really fun to talk to, and the price was extremely affordable. Highly recommend ASL and plan to use them as my go-to electrician from now on! read more

Contacted ASL last weekend to schedule an appointment to figure electrical issues with our gfci resetting constantly at our exterior outlets that would send our security system into melt down mode. Long story short their service electrician David came out and was nice enough guy. After spending about an hour to an hour an a half he determined that it was simply a reset and a loose ground wire at on receptacle. The outlets worked for about another 7/8 hours and tripped the breaker and shut down the receptacles again. We called ASL and they mentioned they'd have an employee back out in the morning to look into the cause :) the next morning arrived and unfortunately a device they needed to likely replace wasn't in stock at any supply houses so they unfortunately had to reschedule last minute. I was quite frustrated at the miscommunication and last minute reschedule, and explained that to their Office Admin. Within 30/40 minutes of me explaining my frustration, their owner Johnny called to apologize and go over the reasons for the reschedule and to go over the fixes they'd need to make to solve the problem. As a service contractor myself it's quite astonishing how quickly they respond to your needs, it's definitely admirable :) We will absolutely be using ASL from here on! read more

Had an issue with my NEMA 14-50. Car said charge rate reduced, wall plug temperature high, wall outlet and wiring inspection recommended. ASL did not install the outlet, but I asked them to help fix the issue. The electrician (not Walter) that came out said that the breaker should be downgraded from a 2 pole 50A breaker to a 2 pole 30A breaker. That doesn't make any sense... I have a NEMA 14-50 for which Tesla recommends a 50A breaker. Furthermore, downgrading to a 30A breaker would charge my car slower, so why would I choose to do that? When I told him that, his response was that it's not much slower and that he's been an electrician since 1984 as if that would convince me of his credibility. He also never inspected the actual outlet. Needless to say I didn't let him change it. Had another company come out to fix the issue (the outlet). That other company also confirmed that switching to a 30A breaker would not be helpful and would only trip the breaker as the outlet would try to pull 32A. Again, to be clear, it wasn't Walter. I had Walter come out several months ago to fix some GFCI outlets. He was great. read more

This is the third time we have used the service of ASL. Cruz Parada came for the second job and we were so happy with the work that he did in troubleshooting and correcting faulty wiring in garage, attic and kitchen. When we needed installation of 4 can lights and dimmer switch in the master bedroom plus other things, we requested specifically for this young man. Cruz is respectful and showed CONFIDENCE in the work that he does. He installed 4 can lights and dimmer switch in master bedroom and also installed an LED mirror in the guest bathroom. He even suggested a better way of installing light and quiet exhaust fan (both in one) in shower area. Cruz also fixed a Ring security wiring issue. I plan to schedule Cruz to install more can lights in the remaining two bedrooms and replace the old bathroom exhaust fan. I would highly recommend Cruz to do any type of electrical work.
