Visited today to buy some Ammo for a few pistols. Previous reviews and other people mentioned that that it is decently priced over the competition in the area. Never been here before as I am newer to town. I am ALWAYS weary about going to new Guns/Ammo shops for the same reason I am reluctant to go in to new guitar or Motorcycle shops and that reason is always the gigantic unjustified sized EGOS on guys in these types of shops. I'm talking about the type of ego that makes you want to slap someone so hard it makes them spit teeth, the type of ego that's drives you crazy when guys behind the counter try to tell you why the product you want sucks and try to sell you something else, the kind of ego that comes with a attitude like "you want what kind of product? (heh heh, smirk, smirk), I guess if you want that sort of thing I'll sell it to ya but it's junk". However, zero ego here. It has a great CHECK YOUR EGO AT THE DOOR atmosphere. Friendly staff, eager to help, answer questions and not act SNARK or COCKY at all, which is what you usually experience at gun counters. During these crazy (COVID) times there is a lot of new gun owners buying anything and everything they can. It's like the crazy "buy TP now" phase. That being said I definitely understand shortages in guns/ammunition. Glock 17's and 19's retail for $550 at any retailer. Before you said "if you can find them" as of today Sportsman's Warehouse has 30+ G17's in stock and guns/fishing in Vacaville have 10+ G17's and G22's in-stock now. Prices range from Glocks suggested retail of $549.99 up to $599.99 Yes ASP is not a big box retailer but how do you support your local business when they are charging $789 (40+%) mark-up for a Glock 17 or 19? On top of that they change a 4% debit/credit card fee of your whole purchase amount. So the guns $240 more then anywhere else, then add another $30+ dollars for your debit card transaction fee. So it will cost you an additional $270 to support your local business... I'm not naive to the fact that with the shortages they may have a slight cost increase from the manufacturer but if they do, it's not 40%. And to add a 4% fee to spend my own money on a debit card?... I'm embarrassed for them. It goes both ways.. you want us to support you, you can't/shouldn't rip us off. I've been purchasing from them for years, even back when they were at their other location and always was treated well. But don't let these crazy times keep you from doing what's right. read more

I really like this place. To say I am brand new to guns/shooting is an understatement. It has always seemed interesting to me, but just never done it. 3 Weeks ago, we came here with a group of 4 (girlfriends' 2 brothers and one of their wives) This was our first time shooting. The service was great, the guy walked us through the basics. The prices were reasonable, it was cheaper than I expected. We shot a few boxes of 9mm ammo and had a great time. My GF and I came back yesterday and shot again. A different guy helped us, but again, the service is top notch. They can pretty much tell we have no idea what we are doing but they helped us, taught us, kept us safe. We enjoyed ourselves again and we are now looking to make our first purchase so we can come here more often to practice. read more

Have fun, the owner's a solid 0 of 5 stars who will insult you, curse you, and be happy when you leave without spending a single penny. I walked into Ammo Supply Point recently, in the market for a handgun, saw that they had the brand and model I was after in the case. I bought my second handgun at this location, albeit a long time ago, when it was under different ownership. I asked to see it, the individual helping me out cleared the weapon, handed it over, and we chatted for a bit about the pistol. When I asked if they could get a particular variant, another individual behind the counter asked if I was law enforcement, and when I said no, he informed me that they weren't on the California approved list of firearms. I asked why. I was then told "Are you a California resident?" I answered "Yes". He responded "Well you look older than me so you probably voted for the law." Uh...what? I responded that no, I took our right to bear very seriously and wouldn't vote for laws restricting handgun variants in California. "If you're not LE you can't get a one." "I saw one on the internet for sale in Cali...." "They're breaking the law" "Okay, why aren't they on the list?" Here's where it gets interesting - he starts cursing at me, telling me that I'm talking about all these laws, "how the F*** " do I not know why? I responded "I asked a question - why aren't they on the California list?? I've spent X years downrange, came back home fairly recently, am former military, and just want to know why this particular weapon isn't "legal"." (I'm well aware that there are unique restrictions here in California. It's been a while and I'm obviously not up to date. I just wanted to know WHY this particular model wasn't.) He tells me "I'm former military too, I was downrange too" and then more cursing. I asked if he was interested in having my business, I get more cursing. I thanked him for his time, bid him a good day, and walked out. I did a little research in the hopes my new friend at ASP had a manager to engage to share my thoughts on verbal abuse and customer satisfaction - only to find that my customer service professional IS THE OWNER. Not an employee having a bad day, no sir, this is the guy that owns and runs the joint. Instead of having an avenue by which to lodge a complaint, I'm left with this - and I hope folks read it. I'm CERTAINLY not going to try to reason with you, as you've already revealed your disdain for customers. That said, I think that others should know what a stellar customer service experience you have to offer. If you're a masochist. I'm puzzled by your modus operandi - refusing to answer questions (stemming from a lack of knowledge) won't get you many new customers or make many new friends. Nor will dropping F bombs on folks who walk in looking to purchase. Not kick tires, buy. That day. In cash. Multiple items. You watched $1000 bucks of purchasing power walk right out your door. The reviews I read before I visited are now revealed as obvious shills - "friendly knowledgeable staff", "helpful people", "they treat vets great here!!!" was the diametric opposite of what I got. Maybe those folks weren't helped by this gent. I didn't learn that sort of behavior in the military I served in. I learned to respect others, to treat every question as a potential training event, to treat others with dignity. I've been out of circulation for years - it was an honest ask because I didn't know. Tell yah what, I shoulda googled it, it'd have saved me a wasted trip and the gas $$$. I ended up paying a premium elsewhere, still in town, at that "other" place because they weren't complete a-holes to me. So, prospective gun owners looking to own a firearm, if you want someone who'll take the time to explain things, answer your questions, treat you with the respect for others that all veterans were taught to have for citizens, do yourself a favor and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Not all 2A supporters or gun people are like the "gent" I dealt with. I promise. My husband wanted a gun for his birthday so I decided to take him here. I was nervous because we have no knowledge at all of guns and this would be his first time purchasing so I wanted someone that would take the time to educate and walk us through the process. We walked in and a gentlemen met us and really took the time to walk us through and hold our hand through the process. My husband took the test, chose and purchased his gun and we went back today after the 10 day wait period and picked it up. But once I found out he wasn't even the owner and the woman that works there is the actual owner, I decided to give it another try. My backwards department refers to our head honcho as a Sheriff; I never knew that an elected official in the fourth-largest county in the state was a "backwards department" but hey, to each their own. Nowhere in my review did I state that I was looking for a discount. I wasn't. I was looking for good customer service which I did not receive during the latter part of the first visit, during my brief conversation on the telephone, or during my second visit. As I cited, the girl that I dealt with during the first part was helpful and knowledgeable. The one plus of dealing with them so they definitely shouldn't get rid of her. I also didn't state that I was looking to have the 10-day waiting period waived. I'm well aware of state law (and didn't have a department letter). That's also why I let the guy know I would be back in 14 days later; normally you don't tell someone that when you're looking to have the wait waived. However, it does provide exemptions: check out Title 11, Division 5, Chapter 4 to start. Before trying to correct a review please read it thoroughly. I cited what I do simply because people like to discredit bad reviews (exactly like J.M. did). Sorry that he didn't like it. Fortunately these reviews are about the store and not about me, or my qualifications or lack thereof, so getting back to them: their customer service was horrible. There's no two ways about that. I'm thrilled that other customers have received great customer service. I did not. I don't think that a badge entitles me to discounts or better customer service, but I do think that I'm entitled to good customer service because I was a paying customer. And good customer service I did not receive. Take my review for what it's worth; if you've received great service from these people then I'm absolutely happy for you and they've earned a customer in you. It's very ridiculous when someone let's their job/status/position go to their head. I have dealt with ASP since they where on Orange Drive and have only ever had the most professional and amazing experience. ASP is a very community friendly and caring business; they do their very best to assist their customers in every way afforded them by law. I am a cop, and I don't see how that makes me any better than the amazing people I serve... so when I read the review by Adam B. I was very annoyed and upset. First, he is wrong about his departmental ID providing exemptions from the 10 day waiting period... The law (see section 26950 of the California Penal Code) basically relates such: California law enforcement officers who have a letter signed by the head of the agency stating they are full time paid peace officers authorized to carry a firearm in the performance of their duties and authorizing the purchase. The dealer must retain the original letter and attach it to the DROS record. So, without a letter from his Chief/Commisioner (or whatever title his backwards department uses for the head honcho), his ID is good for nothing. Also, that guy was attempting to bully his way into a discount... that itself should show you how credible his review is. read more

I've been coming here for a couple years with my dad, ever since he started collecting guns. This place is awesome it's not too big but everyone here is really friendly and knowledgeable. You can rent the guns they have or just bring your own. It's not to expensive to get an hour of shooting in. The last time we went their was a man who teaches classes for shooting. He was nice enough to give me some tips after his class with a student. Basically on his own time showing me other ways to aim at my target since I was having a hard time hitting the Bulls eye. So that was really nice of him, my dad and him were testing out eachothers guns too lol. But it's close to my parents house so whenever I go by to visit we come shooting. It does get pretty packed on the weekends so come early or a little later in the evening so you don't have to wait so long. This is an indoor shooting range. read more

We took my cousin here before he got shipped off to the Army basic training, and was helped out with amazing service, kindness and helpfulness. I was surprised to find out that my 14 year old daughter was technically old enough to shoot, but I didn't allow her to, so her and I watched as my Husband and cousin had fun firing off some guns. There is a counter and window where you can watch the first room, but we also went inside the shooting room and was able to watch closely, take videos and photos of the boys in action. This is my preferred shooting range and they're closing their Orange Dr location so now everything is going to be here! I used to stop by the retail location first then head here but now there's no need. First of all, I am all about supporting local business. It's just a bonus that the owner is a veteran (thank you for your service). Additionally, all the staff is professional, friendly and down-to-earth. I've been to plenty of places with staff that is too up tight even when you're LE. I haven't purchased a firearm from them yet but I've purchases plenty of ammo, accessories, etc. Their prices are fair and usually below other shops and even online. They never jacked up the ammo prices at the range vs the retail shop. They charge you the same which I really appreciated. Don't you love when businesses aren't trying to nickel and dime you?! The range is super clean and well ventilated. I usually wear a hoody when I go because it can get a little drafty. Their rental selection is growing and the price is only like $10. The only requirement (normal) is that you have to use new ammo, not reloads. Of course they have some for sale. Brian is their shooting instructor and he's always helpful. He's helped me out a few times and given me advice. Definitely going to take one of his classes someday. They've also got another guy (sorry I forget your name) that just got Glock certified. I'm looking forward to having him do some work on my Glocks. They're supposed to offer Glock blue label soon. I haven't been shooting in a few weeks but I usually go a couple times a month. This is the only place that will get my business and I live about 45 minutes away. It's worth the drive and every time I'm taken care of. I took my handgun safety test here, and have been here many times to shoot in the shooting range. The service is great. The people that work here are always up to have a little conversation with you and will answer any questions you may have. Sometimes, gun stores/shooting ranges can be an intimidating place to be, but not here. The people make you feel welcome. The prices are also very reasonable and they give you a card that you can fill out so you don't have to fill out all the forms each and every time you come here to shoot. I do believe they may offer discounts to certain military and/or law enforcement but I'm not sure. They also sell eye and ear protection and all the little things you may need. I highly recommend this place to come shooting when you're in Vacaville. read more

I read some reviews and thought I'd go by and purchase a Glock 30sf from here as I was close by. I had my paperwork in hand to move forward. Upon entering, I was the invisible man. I patiently waited to be helped. Nothing. Granted the staff did have customers and I get it. However the turning point is when another guy walked in and was promptly greeted as I stood by the gun display case. I turned around and left immediately. I will continue to do business at Cordelia Gun Exchange. Jesse is about as friendly as you can get. The customer service there is second to none. C'mon guys, it's guns your selling.
