I was happy when ASP announced they were going to take over the old Center Mass location and reopen it. I used to go to their original Orange Drive location and have always been impressed by their customer service. I'm glad that came along with the move. :) Most gun shops can be intimidating places to set foot in. This is not one of them. The floor space is open, well-organized and inviting. ASP carries plenty of stuff for all of your firearm-related needs. The prices on ammo are some of the best around, especially if you pick it up in bulk like I do. ASP's got a good selection (about as good as this state will allow anyway) of handguns and long guns. The consignment section is always worth browsing through. I'm still kicking myself for whiffing on a well-kept Colt Python(!). The range itself is always tidy and well-kept. The lanes are well-marked at the 5, 7 and 10 yard lines, perfect for setting up your targets. Rates are fairly inexpensive and the selection of rental firearms continues to grow, which is great because a prospective buyer can likely try out what they are set on before actually committing to a purchase. Most of the people who come to ASP are experienced with firearms, so you don't have to worry about some dimwit in the next lane over pointing a pistol in your direction while trying to impress his nonplussed girlfriend. I try to get in some practice time at least once a week and it has always been a smooth, delightful experience. I love being able to support a small, locally owned business; even better is that ASP is veteran-owned. Keep up the great work, you guys! read more

These guys were great, They helped me out with a PPT on a Sunday when other stores wouldn't... I'm not going to name names but the other store started with guns, fishing and other stuf*. I came in with a buddy and both of us were surprised with their pricing, out of four stores these guys had the best price on the Sig I was looking at (and by a good amount). Had I not already found a seller I would have definitely gone through these guys, and will go to see them in the future. read more

I have never owned a gun and I went here because of the ratings and it was the right move. I went in and they were very patient with me, they explained the guns and which suited my need. They did not try to sell me the most expensive gun. I ended up purchasing a M&P shield. Then the fun started.. I had an issue with my license and it kicked me back a few times. The team stayed patient with me and even offered me a refund for the troubles the DMV was causing me. I declined and we waited it out. I signed up for a safety course with instructor Joe and that was very useful. Finally, when I got my issue squared away and waited my 10 days, they showed me great customer service by allowing me to use their computer to pull one final form of Identification.. They never once rushed me, they were nothing short of top notch! I will continue to purchase from them and recommend people to them. read more

I decided to get back into shooting in the last 6 months after many,many years away. Heard from a friend about A.S.P. I went in a few times before I actually purchased anything. But every time I went in I was met by someone more than happy to answer my questions. At first I felt nervous being that I'm a chick and asking questions about guns felt uncomfortable! Ive got to say though not once did any of the 4 different people I encounter ever make me feel silly or out of place. In fact they took the time to answer my questions and always welcomed any more questions. They didn't want to just sell me a gun, they wanted to make sure I understood the mechanics and maintenance as well as proper use and safety. If you're new to guns, returning to guns or just looking for a great local gun shop to support A.S.P. on merchant in Vacaville is the spot! Clean lanes. Typically pretty busy. Call ahead for a guaranteed lane or gun rental or even better just buy a gun there and you won't have to worry about renting. Typically renting will run about $35-40. Their FFL transfer fee is about $100. They sometimes close at random times so either follow them on social media or of course call ahead. The staff are agreeable and knowledgeable. They are a Glock blue label dealer if you're MIL/LEO/ETC. They also do some minor gunsmithing sights installations for example but I'm unsure of the extent they go. Overall it's the best place in the surrounding area for any of your firearm needs. read more

Won't shop here, won't shoot here. I've been in a couple of times. The first time I was gun shopping and the owner told me he couldn't get me the gun I wanted so tried to sell me something else - really the hard sale push. I wanted to test shoot to see if I was willing to compromise and then was told it would cost me $40 to test shoot. ????? So I left and purchased exactly what I wanted elsewhere. The second time, I did my CCW training there (didn't realize when I signed up that the training company used that range). While we were taking a break, I was just cruising through the shop looking at ammo and stuff, and the owner was following me around like he thought I was gonna try to rip him off. Are you kidding me? These guys wanted to charge an additional $5 on top of the purchase and DROS to store a gun for the ten day waiting period. Just another sleezy company trying to squeeze out more money from the already overpriced California gun market. And to put that cost on the California gun buyers is just trashy. I've been a patron of ASP since before they had their FFL. After my experience in the store today, I feel as if I've stepped into that place for the last time. It's pretty nice. I will go there again. They could probably use better airflow. Maybe it was just a hot day, but the air was thick with chemicals (powder) - if you have some respiratory issues you might want to take that into consideration. Try not to get the booths at the far right. You have the guy on the left's shells ejecting at you all the time and sometimes they are pretty hot going down the back of your collar. read more

It's a small shooting range with about 8 lanes (I believe). It was kinda of crowded when I went on a saturday around 1pm, the wait was about a hour. I was in here today, and I just have to say how downright disrespectful the staff was. The guy who actually helped me was great, besides that at 4:35 they already had all the guns packed up and said it was too late to shoot (they are open til 6). But the rest of the staff was just sitting on their butts not doing anything. A man walked in a bit before 5pm and wanted to use the range. They told him that it was too late. And he walked out. But, when he walked out, the staff started making jokes about how "he can go somewhere else and commit suicide" -- "I know, right? Just dont do it here! Haha!" ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? SUICIDE IS NOT A JOKE. And this place is owned by a veteran, who should be aware of how many veterans commit suicide every day. Plus, the man was perfectly kind. Nothing to warrant those kinds of comments. (Not that ANYTHING would warrant that) Unbelievable. read more

They participate in the blue label program or did last time I was there so that was nice not having to drive all the way to Sacramento just for "LE" weapon. I'll start by saying that I've purchased five weapons from ASP and I shoot on their range regularly. When my daughter is in town it is on her "Must Do" list. My sons, both veterans of the 75th Ranger Regiment, and I use the range when they are in town and they always have a good time. I've introduced friends to shooting on the range and they've always had a pleasant experience. The prices are the best you'll find in the area and the staff has always gone out of there way to be helpful from shipping a rifle out of state for me to assisting in private party transfers and of course multiple purchases. I happened to mention to my wife that I'd seen a vintage pistol I was interested in that ASP had on consignment after stopping by one day. My wife stopped by on her own, not an easy feat for a retired nurse with little experience with gun shops. She was so excited about her experience with the staff at ASP that she drove me back to the store to buy the gun. I expect she'll be a regular window shopper. That's a great thing for me and a bad thing for my wallet. My point being, how often do you find a gun shop that can turn a wife that tolerates a husbands hobby into an enthusiastic supporter. It takes a special staff to accomplish a feat of that magnitude. One last point. If you want to shoot a long gun, go to an outdoor range. Don't blame a quality indoor range for your lack of research and leave a bad review because the best you can do is look at a logo. read more

Every time my wife and I go in to shoot, purchase a firearm, browse the endless inventory, or ask for product advice the incredibly knowledgeable staff always comes through with A+ and FIVE STAR service. My wife and I have been going there since they opened and we will continue to give them our business. They are Veteran owned and operated, strong 2nd Amendment supporters, and are super knowledgeable. They always treat my wife and I with great respect. When my wife asks the simple/first time shooter questions they answer and explain without the "you're an idiot" stare....the team is a class act. Cheers to them, the range, and the inventory! We try to visit once a week to shoot. The range is always clean and we feel safe there. They are huge on cleanliness and FIREARM SAFETY! Nice pistol range, Nice gun shop. Moderate selection with a decently knowledgeable staff. The prices are middle of the road and nothing to write home about. Staff aren't snobby, as with many gunshops. I came in to make a purchase on a Glock but was steered towards not just settling on a baseline handgun and got something I've always wanted (CZ75b). There are some gunstores you need to steer clear of but this isn't one of them. read more

Had 3 different guys in 5 min showing me a couple guns I like to see to decide what I want to buy. Not one of them explained anything about the guns. I recently purchased my first handgun here (not my first firearm). Staff were all friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I was able to test out the pistol before I made the purchase too (They didn't charge for the lane). I have been too many gun stores and you often run into people who don't want to help or give judgemental looks because your not a expert in the field. This was not the case at ASP. My first time back at this location since being reopened under the ownership of Ammunition Supply Point Solano (or A.S.P. according to their business card) was an absolute delight! I've been coming to this location since 1999 when it was known as The Shooting Gallery. And after that closed down I continued to go under the management of Center Mass Shooting Range. And both had great management, staff, customer service, and facilities. And it seems A.S.P. is set to carry on the tradition! I received very polite service from the staff who were very cordial and didn't make me feel pressured or uncomfortable. And although the layout of the store itself has changed from the previous ownerships, it's still a much more open and inviting layout than Guns, Fishing, & Other Stuff which seems more cramped in comparison. And to top it off, the price for shooting here is even cheaper than it was under Center Mass. Don't know if they'll be able to handle FFL transfers as of yet, but I'll definitely be continuing to come here for my range time! read more

I used to go to this place when it was called Center Mass. And when they closed it really bummed me out because I'm not too big of a fan of Vacaville's other indoor shooting range. And quite frankly Yolo Sportsmen is awesome but a hell of a drive for a quick pew pew session. I'm a fan of the ASP retail location, and have purchased my last two firearms from them and have had superb service each time. So when I heard they had purchased the CM location I was pretty juiced. I love how modernized and clean the place is. Fair rates on range time, targets, ammo, and friendly staff. I'd highly suggest this place to all my pew pew friends and family. read more

The only place I give my gun business to. George, Chelsea and their staff are extremely knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Being ex-military it also is a plus that they are veteran owned! If you're new to guns or a seasoned pro, they will help you out without the condescending attitude, arrogance, or pressure you will find at other shops. An unfortunate experience..... so recently I decided to go check out the range at A.S.P. I came in on a Sunday at about noon. When I arrived I found a 40 min to and hour wait for the range. While I was waiting I sat at the waiting area which has a window that over looks the range stalls. It was then that I noticed none of the staff on duty were paying the least bit of attention to anyone on the range. In the time I sat there I saw some of the most unsafe practices I have ever seen, not to mention a guy point his gun at himself, his kid and the window I was sitting behind. Now spending time at enough ranges and stuff like this really doesn't phase you but the young kids who are working in the shop have no clue what's going on. Then a young man came in from off the range, he had been shooting on lane #5. The young man who had obviously smoked himself completely stupid and could barely annunciate a sentence stated that lane #5 was having issues. One of the employees told another employee to go check it out. When he returned low and behold my name was called and I was given lane #5. I set all my stuff up on lane #5 and pushed my target out to the 5 yard mark. I shot one mag then moved to the 10 yard mark and shot another mag. The target then stuck and would not move forward or backwards. I finally got the attention of one of the employees through the window who tried to have me fix it through hand signals. Finally he came in and fiddled with it, while I patiently waited. He then told me it's broke go to lane #8. So I packed up all my stuff and moved to lane #8. I pushed the target out to the 15 yard mark and shot one mag. I then moved the target out to the end of the range and shot one mag. The target then would not respond again and would not move forward or backwards. At this point I am extremely frustrated and am no longer interested in being in this place any longer. I pack up all my stuff and walk out of the range. I tell them after waiting for 45 min they put me on two broken shooting lanes. The employee responded with well they tend to get stuck when you move them all the way to the back. I paid for my range time and my ammo and left. Needless to say I will never return to this place I will go back to guns fishing and other stuff. read more
