As of this date (2/8/22), I have received zero communication from them. I've left voice messages, emails, and tried through Yelp. Nothing. No response. Additionally, I've had another HVAC company come out, only to find out many aspects of Comfort Pros installation was not to code and a safety hazard. This was a $5K expense, and we feel absolutely gutted and scammed. AVOID THIS COMPANY!

We were new homeowners and had only moved in for less than a month when our AC unit went out. It…read morewas an ancient unit that certainly needed replacement, but when we called The Right Choice, they arrived with the pushiest, sleaziest salesman you could imagine. He immediately insisted (more like demanded) that we needed new ducts as well as a new system. When I told him that we wanted a unit with a higher SEER rating for energy efficiency and lower electric bills, he dismissed my suggestion as if I was stupid for even asking about it. My guess is that they have some sort of deal with Goodman, because that is the brand that they forced on us. What was the grand total you ask? Over $20,000. And that was 8 years ago! Not only did they NOT replace all of the ducts (like they said they would) their installation was the most Mickey Mouse-looking trash I have ever seen. They must have put at least 5 pounds of mastic tape around the unit to try and seal it up and it still leaked cold air after a week of use. These are scam artists masquerading as professionals. Even after that ordeal was over, they would call us constantly, year after year, telling us we needed to pay for a tech to come out and service our system. Besides hosing off our compressor unit with our own garden hose, the only thing their tech ever did was aggressively try to sell us on more services. They never once opened up the unit to clean the coils. They never once topped off the coolant. They never even cleaned out the condensate pipe. 8 years later and I am paying the price with outrageous cooling bills, a leaky unit that is more mastic than air conditioner, and a clogged condensate line that I had to clean out myself (it took about 5 minutes once I had the right tool). Do not let these people into your home. There is a reason that you see so many one-star reviews among the four and five-star ones. Do not disregard those reviews (they are real people). This company will take advantage of anybody who is not particularly knowledgeable about HVAC. They are pushy and rude; they will try to sell you products and services that you do not need. They will continue to harass you with phone calls for years afterwards. Stay away. Stay far, far away.

From the beginning, I was required to pay the full amount upfront before any work started, which I later found concerning. One major issue was related to asbestos. Every other contractor I received quotes from had already included asbestos removal costs in their total estimate, which is common for older homes in the Burbank area. Although this company had already visited the property and inspected it beforehand to provide an estimate--just like other contractors--they suddenly raised asbestos concerns in the middle of the project and stopped the work. The project was then delayed for over a week, and despite multiple attempts to contact them, I received little to no response. Later, they even requested additional charges. The scheduling and communication were extremely frustrating throughout the entire process. I repeatedly adjusted my personal schedule to accommodate their work. In particular, on Friday, the project manager directly told me that they would come on Saturday to complete the remaining work. Based on that, I stayed home and waited. However, no one showed up, no one contacted me, and later I was simply told that they do not work on Saturdays and that I should call the office myself to reschedule. There was not even a proper apology. It is also unreasonable to expect the customer to coordinate scheduling, as it is the contractor's responsibility to manage the schedule and complete the project once the work has started. From my experience, it felt like the company schedules work based on their own convenience and profit, rather than respecting the customer's time and commitments. While the technicians on site were polite and hardworking, the overall project management, scheduling, and communication were very disappointing. I also wonder whether requiring full payment upfront before the work even began aligns with standard practices or regulations in California. I chose this company specifically because of Costco, and I expected a much higher level of professionalism and accountability.

When the work was done, and the technician, Zack, told me that, if I wrote a good review on Yelp, they would pay me $25.00----in the form of a gift certificate to eBay, Amazon or an online company of my choice---I got a different idea about all those great reviews. The heater stopped working 6 months later. Fishing out the invoice, I saw there was no written proof of a guarantee. I took the tech at his word and hadn't checked. Again, I was cold! When, after many calls and an email, David dispatched a second tech from Express to assess the problem, he told me that water was dripping on the new part and that the water had ruined it. He charged me $80.00 for coming out, saying the failure was my fault. None of this was written down. The technician said he could get me another part for $3,700 or install a different heating system for $15,000. Either way, he said, the $80 would be applied. Now the nickel drops. The dawn breaks, and I hire an inspector to tell me whether there is a leaking pipe that I need to repair. The inspector told me there was nothing leaking on the new part, in fact there were no water pipes anywhere near the furnace, only gas pipes. He also said that the technician had installed a red bypass wire, a temporary fix at best. So this review. To alert others. 1. Ask for a written guarantee. 2. Use a credit card so you have recourse. 3. Read the invoice before you sign. 4. Ask to see a photo of the area. 5. Do the opposite of what I did. I'm still cold.
