After my wife bemoaned the fact we couldn't eat some banana bread that a kind neighbor gave us as a Christmas gift, I searched for a nearby bakery that had a GF version. I was so pleased to discover Aspasia and its dedicated gluten free bakery and menu! Lots more to like about Aspasia -- easy to order menu, easy pick up option, great location, decent parking and kind staff. Oh and the banana bread? Overall very good. I was excited to try this spot. I tried a specialty Latte. A Spiced Maple Latte and GF Lemon pound cake and a apple cinnamon muffin. Let's start with the latte the coffee tasted over roasted to me, also the flavors of maple and spice non existent. Both baked goods I tried were very dry and seemed to maybe be older than advertised. I've stopped in one or two times a week for a while based on location convenience. I enjoy the coffee cake but their coffee and lattes are sub par and expensive. However, on my last visit, I witnessed the owner harass a customer to tears. Something about the integrity of a gluten-free store which doesn't make sense since gluten isn't airborne. The good: very friendly place. The workers were very nice. The atmosphere of the shop was really nice. Not quite my style of decor but loved the seating options and the couches. I liked that they had small drink stands to put your drink on near the couch so you don't have to constantly bend and reach to get your drink. Noise level was average. The food was not bad for gluten free. Had the coffee cake and while a little dry it had decent flavor. The bad: been to over 60 coffee shops in the past two years, something my wife and I do most weekends. This unfortunately was probably the second worst Mocha I've had in all our shop stops. Loved that they use real mugs but the Mocha tasted like warm milk. Zero foam on top, no art which is fine but zero flavor. Tasted like it had no espresso in it and a dusting of chocolate. This is a lovely upscale coffee and bake shop featuring gluten-free only pastries and other baked goods. I was struck by how welcoming and cozy the dining area is. They offer muffins, scones, cookies, bars, cakes and an extensive coffee selection. I had a freshly made scone that was delicious, light with great cranberry flavor and not overly sweet. You couldn't tell it was gluten free. There is a work area upstairs where you can enjoy your coffee and work on your computer. There is a patio outside where you could sip coffee with your pooch and enjoy the fire pit. They have a drive up window if you want to just pick-up your order. They also have a private room that can be reserved for special events. They serve soups after 10:30. Coffee all day. Ok! What a cute cute find in Zionsville! I have been meaning to try Aspasia since I heard about locally owned and in house gluten free flour plus the gluten free only coffee shop! I am not on a gluten free diet but do like to try new varieties and the coffee + salted Carmel brownie didn't disappoint. The combo was truly good and I loved seeing the cozy ambience, cushioned chairs, and a second floor with even cozier seating. I will be honest, the layout is very cute and hip - love the upstairs fireplace and lounge area but the actual food and service needs a bit more tuning. We stopped in for lunch, their was maybe two other tables occupied and our order was slightly messed up. The food was alright and they were out of two of three hummus options and only had one soup available. We went with the soup of the day and plain hummus but neither were praise worthy. The size of drinks compared to price is not really worth it. And the cheesecake was hard to breakthrough so I ended up eating some of the cheesecake and throwing out the crust - I felt like I was going to break my fork or something trying to dig in! read more

My first try here (months ago) I tried a chai latte. It was cold and very watery. But I thought it was my fault for ordering it with almond milk. Our Indy Coffee Club Meetup group met up at Aspasia for coffee and conversation in Zionsville. Aspasia is a very beautiful upscale coffee and bake shop in Zionsville that has an upper level seating space for its patrons. The lounge area on the lower level is very nice as well , and they do have a drive thru lane if you are looking for something on the go. The staff are in their Christmas decor with Santa hats and Christmas sweaters ,some ugly some not, but they looked nice and festive. The coffee bar area and menu are very attractive looking and the display case with baked goods looked amazing and incredible. One of the staff greeted me with a cheery smile and took my order. I looked at the winter wonder specials and the peppermint Mocha caught my interest, so I ordered that for my beverage and a cranberry orange muffin. The staff member told me someone would be bringing me my beverage when it was ready and I gave her my name. A few minutes later, another staff member called my name and brought me my peppermint Mocha with a smile at my table. The peppermint Mocha was amazing and tasted terrific! The cranberry orange muffin was very fresh and tasted delicious. The combination of cranberry and orange flavors were just right and the texture of the muffin was just perfect. While having a conversation with one of my group members, he accidentally hit the table and was wobbly caught my peppermint Mocha to spill. He was kind enough to buy me another peppermint Mocha, but the staff needs to fix their tables because they are wobbly and not steady. This could cause a lot of other spillage of beverages in the future. Other than that, this is a wonderful coffee shop to hang out at with friends and have great conversations. The staff are very friendly and professional, and demonstrate excellent customer service. Aspasia is a beautiful luxury coffee and bake shop in Zionsville, and the drive thru is a huge advantage for those who are on the go. You definitely should come here for coffee and baked goods. This restaurant/coffee and bake shop is AMAZING!!! Everything here is gluten-free. No outside food or beverages are allowed. The owner wants it to be a safe place for people with food allergies to eat. We had potato soup, one of the gluten-free bars, and my wife had a latte. Everything we had was absolutely delicious. Nothing from a box here. It's all freshly made and delicious! If you hadn't told me that the raspberry bar was gluten-free, I would have never believed you. I would have never believed you if you hadn't told me that the raspberry bar was gluten-free. It was so delicious. Every bite was a masterpiece. The soup was full of flavor and tasted freshly made. I can't wait till the next time we visit. I know my wife will be there often, but I'll be a little jealous every single time I'm not. It really is that good. So thankful to have a local option with SO MANY gluten free and even dairy free goodies! Aspasia is certainly unique. It's a gluten and dairy free coffee shop/cafe in a newer strip mall in Zionsville with a drive-thru. Not something you see every day! The inside is two stories, with tables and a fireplace upstairs - plus a nice size patio out front. I'd heard from a friend that Aspasia often alters its hour without notice, and my friend and I showed up at 2:15 p.m. to see a sign on the door that they would be closing that day at 3 p.m. for an event. While I can eat gluten, I did enjoy the blondie brownie and iced tea I got. I'm eager to try more sweets on their menu, especially since I have a few GF friends. read more

Stopped in to this coffee shop that is gluten free with many dairy free and vegan items on their menu. First off, the beautifully designed space lends to such a pleasant atmosphere that you want to dine in. Next the immediate greeting by Carrie was certainly noted and she helped me with questions since this was my first visit. I opted for the GF cinnamon roll with buttercream icing (DF). It's a large portion to satisfy your cravings. In regard to flavor, I do think it could be improved upon as it seemed a bit lacking but for a gluten free option, it's great to have. I also chose a GF lemon poppy seed muffin for a later treat but I could t wait to sample it. The burst of fresh lemon is delish and it's good! I had to have a latte as I enjoy visiting different coffee shops to see what's out there. I tried the Irish crème latte w/oat milk. Although it would not be rated as my fave I've had at any coffee shop, it was quite acceptable. If you like a strong latte, this is your place. (I'm not a coffee drinker so I like my lattes a bit heavier on the milk side more than coffee although the coffee is what brings it altogether to perfection. It was not too sweet and I'm sure you could customize your preferences-I didn't ask as I wanted to experience the idea of an Aspasia latte. Everyone working there extended courteous assistance. I included photos from their loft and ladies facilities. Various seating includes comfy sofas, tables for workspace/eating, counter seating and booths tables and sofas in the loft. It's definitely well thought out to accommodate many customers as well as an event space for reservation. This place has quite the cool design from Parallel Design Group-gorgeous! When I heard a totally gluten free bakery was opening locally I knew I had to check it out! As someone who has celiac disease finding somewhere that's 100% safe is very few and far between. Before the retail shop opened up I placed an order for pick up through the production kitchen (what is pictured). The production kitchen is right down the road from the retail shop! My favorite item from that order is the cinnamon rolls! So delicious! The double chocolate chip cookies are very good as well. Everything I got was great! I went on opening day to the retail shop and the store is SO nice! They have baked goods and a coffee bar! I picked up a couple muffins and chocolate chip cookies. The blueberry muffins were GREAT! *they will have biscuits and gravy soon too! I LOVE this place and will continue to support it! I had heard of this bake shop so when we were driving by I had to stop of course. The bakery is all gluten free. First the ambiance of the place is wonderful. It has comfortable sofas and chairs and has a second floor too. A nice place to sip a cup of coffee and chill. When we walked in the owner pointed us to the samples so we tried two different kinds of brownies, a blondie,a raspberry bar and a vegan brownie. All were good and if I hadn't known they were gluten free I would not have guessed that. In fact I loved the vegan brownie as it was so soft and chocolaty. They have coffee and tea and surprisingly wine and beer so it would be a great place after dinner to come and have dessert and coffee or a glass of wine. That's my plan at least. I ordered a brown sugar chai which was piping hot. I could taste the brown sugar but not the chai so much. My husbands cafe au lait was hot and good. We held a bridal shower in the upstairs space for around 25 people. The space was just perfect and the food amazing!! The staff was so attentive and helpful. They checked on us several times to see if there was anything we needed. They had the area set up for us when we arrived and insisted on doing all the cleanup! Yesterday, May 30/25, was our wedding. Major HUGE disappointment in our wedding cake from Aspasia. Cake was dry. Even a guest commented The icing was to be the herringbone design of our wedding rings, with a band around each layer. A photo of the rings was provide, and we were told there was no problem. There were NO bands and the herring bone pattern was simple lines, NO subtle indentations, as the ring photo indicated. As a former art teacher, I relate the skill level to that of a 3rd grader. WE WERE MAJORLY EMBARRASSED. I can never recommend this bakery. read more

Spent a rainy Saturday morning hanging out here and enjoyed a blueberry lemon muffin along with an iced SF vanilla latte. The muffin was super moist and the latte hit the spot. The space is incredible. It has tons of seating! The parking lot was full but everyone seemed to have a place to sit and enjoy their drinks and treats. They have a drive-thru, which I'm sure is appreciated by those who live in the area when they're on their way to work. They have a seasonal drink menu and daily soup options so be sure to check those out. The signs with the specials are next to the registers. While the couches and chairs are nice to look at and very comfortable, it was a bold choice to have so much furniture with fabric. Our chairs already had a couple stains. Extra special to see a dedicated gluten free menu! I'm hesitant to give any health stars given gluten free is often assumed to be better but typically is very high sugar; can let it pass for the moment since Aspasia shows off well, easy drive thru, great location, long hours, plenty of parking, large food and beverage menus, and top notch staff. Wish I had more time to enjoy the modern and inviting study and couch area, there is a new and improved Starbucks touch to everything. My sister also had good things to say which adds to the broad appeal. The autumn menu listed the usual pumpkin stuff. Looked over to the previous drinks of a few weeks ago as I was about to go for the white pumpkin and noticed the Irish latte, I had to. Irish cream and coffee is an A List match for me. Did almond milk which with soy and coconut is my first pick to balance the setup sweetness, didn't wait hardly much at all, got a nice size for cheaper than most and was on my way, they use the usual cups. On my way home was constantly sipping and can easily recommend Aspasia, this isn't the smug high class coffee experience, uses the diabetes inducing syrups, lacks the skills of Indy's ace java juicers like Rabble and Provider, however it is still entirely better than the popular chains! read more
