The level of care and professionalism that was shown to me by the staff made me feel welcomed and comfortable. Leading up to the appt the staff reached out to ensure my insurance information was captured prior to my visit. The day of my visit not only am I greeted with a smile, every staff member I interacted with was kind and took the time to explain the procedures ahead. THIS PLACE IS A COMPLETE SCAM. I was quoted over 5,000 dollars for a problem I didn't even have!! I visited because of some toothache I was having that I was 100% sure was my wisdom tooth. They made me pay 30$ just for an "exam" where they "determined" I had 4 cavities??? So, then I was quoted the 5,000$ which included 4 fillings and a tooth cleaning. I asked how much for just the fillings and no cleaning, and the price dropped to 1,000$. Complete joke! What dental cleaning costs 4,000$?? Then they had the audacity to charge me 30$ for wasting my time and call me a few days later to see if I'd book an appointment with them. That same day I had gone somewhere else where they told me i had NO cavities, and i did have an impacted wisdom tooth. I was also quoted 600$!!! I almost received dental services at Aspen Dental, but I backed out at the last minute. Allow me to explain why. First of all, I was able to get an appointment very quickly at Aspen. Initially, that seemed to be a definite plus. I called at 9 AM and made an appointment for 10 AM the same day. Later I had second thoughts about why it's so easy to get a quick appointment at Aspen Dental. Why is their schedule so wide open? Upon arrival, I was asked to fill out a new patient questionnaire. The questionnaire asked me to acknowledge that I had received, read and understood their statement regarding billing and financial options. Since I had not received that statement I didn't check that box. When I returned the questionnaire to the receptionist, she immediately said that I had to check the box indicating that I had received, read and understood the financial statement. When I pointed out that I had not received it yet, and therefore could not check that box, she said I could not be seen unless I acknowledged that I had received, read, and understood the statement. I steadfastly refused to acknowledge that I had received, read and understood a financial statement that I had never seen, but said I would happily do so after I received, read and understood it. Upon realizing that I would not be easily stampeded, they relented and sent me back to begin my examination. Eventually they said they had "found" some printed forms of their financial policy statements. It made me wonder what they were giving to the other patients if they had to hunt for copies of their financial policies. I had been told that the outset, that the x-rays would be done for free. That was true, but I realized that if they're not charging me separately for the x-rays, that means the cost of those services would be embedded in the other costs for which they hoped to eventually charge me. After the examinations were completed, they identified three different treatments that they "recommended" and gave me a total price for all 3. Because the three treatments could each be independently administered, I asked for a breakdown of the costs for each of the three treatments. They were initially reluctant to provide me that breakdown, emphasizing that they recommended I receive all three. I pointed out that it was my choice, whether to have 1, 2, 3 treatments or no treatments at all, and insisted that I receive a breakdown of the cost for each treatment individually. Again, after failing to stampede me, they finally relented and gave me a breakdown for each of the three treatments. The treatment costs struck me as rather high in comparison with the dentist I used previously. I left with the printed estimates of the charges, went home and immediately went online to investigate Aspen Dental and their reputation. Marissa scheduled my appointment for a dental evaluation and cleaning. She has great phone skills. I told her I would not get 15-20 x rays as I just had them done and a cleaning 9 months ago. That's a lot of radiation. She said no it wouldn't be that many x rays. She was awesome in collecting the information with an iPad when I arrived. She came to my car to get me 45 minutes later saying the assistant was ready for me. However, I feel they need to train her better. The process was very deceptive. The assistant might or might not give me a cleaning only if the hygienist could fit me into her schedule? What? I made an appointment! They take an hour of my time to do the eval, 17 XRAYS and I have to schedule my cleaning for a later date! They got all my medical information and I got no service. I will report them to my insurance company to stop using them. There is a dentist on every corner. Why can't they do a simple cleaning after a few basic X-rays? I have great teeth no issues. BEWARE OF PRICE GOUGING AND HAVING TO PREPAY IN ORDER TO GET AN APPOINTMENT! I've had 2 office visits with them so far. Everything seemed normal at first. They referred me to an endodontist to get a root canal of a tooth that already had a crown and root canal. That process went fine. The second visit started a little weird. I needed to have two filling done. They wouldn't make the appointment unless I paid for my procedure upfront. Never had to do that before! The actual visit went okay. But, now to the troubling part. At my first visit to Aspen dental in Conroe I was told I needed a deep cleaning, which I am sure I do. The problem was the pricing! They quoted me $4,002, and after insurance discount the cost to me would be $2,135! The cost seemed very high. So after my first visit I researched deep cleaning prices online. The prices varied between $1,600 to $2,400 total without insurance. I also checked Aspen Dental website and it said "the average cost is $315 per quadrant". Which would be $1,260 total without insurance discount. I even went to a local Dentist in Conroe that my wife goes to. Their price for deep cleaning was $1,500, and after insurance discount it would only cost me $330 to have all 4 quadrants deep cleaned. There is a huge difference in pricing between what Aspen is trying to charge me and what the prices are everywhere else. I felt like your company was trying to take advantage of me! So, after my second visit to Aspen Dental in Conroe I asked to speak again to someone about the price of deep cleaning to see if my quote they gave me was a mistake. But, again I was quoted the crazy price of $4,002 and after insurance discount it would cost me $2,135. I told the person quoting me the price that all my research showed that deep cleaning is way cheaper than that! Even Aspen's own website! He still insisted he was quoting me the right price. He said they used "special antibiotics" in their procedure that costs more. If this is what your company is really trying to charge me for a deep cleaning, then I will never set foot at Aspen Dental again, and I will be sure and warn others of your deceptive practices and price gouging! Pros: friendly staff, clean, modern Cons: TERRIBLE business practice. This is my second time going here and I did not appreciate my time wasted here today. I WONT be going back. my main reason for visit today was to get my teeth cleaned and i didn't get to have that done. 1) they wanted to charge me $30 to scan my gums w an LeD light to check for oral cancer. i said no and had to sign a form declining that. I do not use tobacco products either. 2) they "measured" my gum recession, however the hygienist didn't even use a tool to measure for half of it. She just called out numbers. Then she proceeded to tell me the cause for my gum recession is my bite - not the pressure of brushing my teeth. In 30+ years, I have NEVER been given this reason. I was always told it's from brushing too hard. Then she proceeds to tell me to get invisalign and a retainer. 2) The dentist comes in and tells me there are no issues w my teeth or gums. they are all healthy. I tell him one area bothering me and he says it looks fine but that i could fix my smile with invisalign. I said I like my smile. So he said I was free to go. 3) I never got to see anyone to clean my teeth. They first said they would try to get me in my a cleaning alter today. I told them I can't leave and come back, I have other appointments. They passed me on to some billing lady who said they don't have any Healthy Cleaning appointments avail. and that they can't tell me how much it costs to clean my teeth other than that I would be charged $50 for fluoride. I said no to paying $50 for the fluoride.and her response was that she would have to see if I can get my teeth cleaned without charging for fluoride because that's something routine the dentists use. I have ALWAYS been ASKED if I wanted fluoride after my cleaning. It's not mandatory. After refusing to pay $50 for my cleaning that is covered by my insurance she said "well the system has a glitch so I can't actually show you how much your insurance is going to cover for your cleaning. it's showing $0 but that's not right". How would she know? "But we can schedule it for october - earliest appointment. " WHAT??! I have never been to a dentist a) that won't clean your teeth during your annual x-ray exam and b) is BOOKED with teeth cleanings. There was only one patient there at all while I was there. Never again will I go here. I wasted time off work for this and still don't have my teeth cleaned. They did offer me an oral b spin toothbrush for $150. No thanks. I got one from Kroger for $23. Now I am looking for a new dentist to forward my fresh x-rays to so I can get my beautiful teeth cleaned. read more

Needed a broken tooth repaired or replaced. Presumed a crown would be the only option given. Tried to obtain cost estimates online--silly me! Aspen Dental was the only estimate I saw, and since I had received a flyer from them, I booked an appointment online. Arrived for first visit. Went through the usual x-rays and digital scanning. Dr. Anthony confirmed a crown was in order. Sent to checkout to get total care estimate, schedule appointment, and PAY... Meghan provided the checkout info with a smile and was extremely cordial (she was collecting the money, of course). Overall, customer service was lacking. None of the medical assistants gave their name, and with their face masks, I couldn't understand them. After receiving temporary crown, scheduled follow-up for permanent crown. Needed to reschedule, so I called main number and left a message after I couldn't reach anyone. Nobody returned call until they were confirming original follow-up. Crown was finally completed. Noticed I was double billed for Aspen Dental Discount Program. Spent 3/4 hour on phone without results. All phones are third party call centers which suggest they will call Conroe directly, but Conroe only offers you to leave a message. I will visit the office to try to resolve this issue, but at this point, who knows. Bottom line; poor customer service, not user friendly, and inadequate billing practices. My first couple of appointments were great, then they weren't. I had a Dr who pressured me into getting a root canal/crown which was needed, however I told him multiple times I had to do one at a time due to cost. He kept saying it's ok, well done it now since we are doing one already. I reiterated I could not afford it and he still insisted so we did it, temp crown fell off within an hour of me getting home. Placed the second temp and again it came off within minutes. Went to have my 1 permanent placed and he said ok we'll place the 2nd. I told him I couldn't afford it and had told him multiple times. His response was well we can't leave it just sitting here. Now it's on my credit, they pressure to have whatever they want to get done but this Dr wasn't even trying to listen. They charged me for a toothbrush that is around $130 and a procedure that I did not want done in the future. I have been waiting on a refund from them and it's been over 2 months. My spouse and I decided to go for a first visit we waited so long that we left for coming back the next day like most of the "patients". The next day we had X rays and an estimate from "the financial specialist for fix the problems in our mouth (no implants) we can't afford the skyrocket prices that they want to charge for both. I broke my bottom denture so I was looking for a dentist with a lab and Aspin did. I was in the waiting room about 15-20 minutes. The doctor came in soon after I got in an exam room. Come to find out the denture was fixable. You could't tell where it was broken. It fits perfect and 138.00 later I'm happy. PS the oral cancer exam is optional.I highly recommend Aspin Dental. read more
