The staff was very friendly and made me feel comfortable! I had a top tooth extracted and of course the shots were very painful, the staff was so caring and the dentist gave me the shots as quick as possible. He was knowledgeable and helped me to understand all of the issues I had and answered all of my questions. The manager Sabrina was awesome. The dental hygienist was great as well. And of course the Dentist was so kind, professional and caring. They were not rude at all, even though I was nervous. I will always recommend this particular Aspen Dental to anyone! read more

Quite the catfish of dental offices, because they're Google reviews have them highly rated. I was scheduling an appointment for my husband, and had a fine experience, it wasn't until they called back with the insurance verification to tell us that they would be charging him without insurance for their exam, when his exam is 100% covered. When we pushed back and said we would like to use our benefits that wepay for, That's when we spoke with someone with a bad attitude problem in the front office who tried to tell us that they do not have someone in network after all, and were going to charge us their own fees anyway. Do not go here, they will tell you they take your insurance when they do not and you will end up having to foot the entire bill with no benefits. I recommend whoever works here should get another job bc they are clearly unhappy there. read more

The support staff used to be friendly and courteous as well as the actual dentists. I had used them for years. That has changed and they are rude, impatient and the dentist is an incompetent fool. He does not know how to manage his staff or his time and is not in network with any insurance providers. The staff was more interested in trying to sell dental services rather than relieve pain and fix an emergency problem. I visited this office to get my new set of dentures and everyone was extremely nice, caring and professional. The Dentist was truly patient with me and really thoughtful and concerned about all the concerns I had. She answered my questions and I am glad I can continue to see them for my future care. read more

Extraction to full dentures On Thursday September 6 while receiving treatment from the only Dr located at Babcock Rd San Antonio Texas I shared with her how painful it was having my head jerked harshly. And I used the word shit " that shit hurt" it was at that time the Dr refused to continue with any treatment. She band me from future dental appointment care. Other staff assistant completed relining temporary dentures. After that was completed office manager met me in the waiting area. Said that the area manger will be contacting me. The status of the financial loan. Was not discuss. The office manager asked me when will be a good time for a call back I provided after 4 pm. I have additional dental work and need to move forward with obtaining permanent dentures. And need to have access to my dental records. I have not heard from this unknown area manager nor the office manager. Your prompt assistant is appreciated.I feel the Dr is over bearing insensitive and disregards patient rights. She dismisses patient rights to speak openly . This Dr understood along with other staff I have a reflex issue and continued to push those boundaries insensitively. I take responsibility. I went in for an emergency for a swollen jaw and gums. I was taken such good care of! I ended up getting a wisdom tooth pulled and was walked through the entire process before. Oscar and Cortney were so kind and patient. I had a great experience with them and look forward to going back. read more

Getting basic pre-appointment information like "what time is my appointment because you confirmed 9 AM through text but 10:15 over the phone" and "is my insurance accepted by your practice" is apparently impossible. 12 days, 5 phone calls with voicemails left and day-of I don't have answers to either of these questions while pending an emergent extraction, running out the days on my insurance coverage for the year when I could have gone somewhere else and maybe gotten some help by now. I'd love to tell you how the care is but apparently these people don't want patients. Just grateful the cracks showed early before I let anyone affiliated with this organization anywhere near my mouth. Avoid. Drive to Austin or New Braunfels or something. Everything that's wrong with modern dental/medical care in this country personified behind a shiny new website. Maybe try offering animal sacrifices to a long-forgotten god, that might get more results than leaving messages for Aspen. God help you if you're in pain because Aspen won't. I made an appointment for a regular check up. Staff was friendly, technology was the most advanced that I have been to compared to previous dental places in my past relating to x-rays (this does take time, but is thorough). It is a little strange that they took payment prior to the cleaning, but shouldn't be a problem if you are financially stable. People who worked on me: Oscar, Amber, Deborah. Very knowledgeable. I read the previous reviews and that sucks if people had those experiences. Perhaps there is new staff, and they upgraded equipment. read more

When I arrived for my appointment the Receptionist had cancelled my appointment without my knowledge. I told her I didn't cancel and needed to keep it. I was told in a rude and demeaning attitude, that she would fit me in and I'd have to wait for an hour and a half. I told her that I'm handicapped and can't sit that long. She said she'd reschedule me for another day. I told her I've had a broken tooth for 3 days and needed help immediately. So I waited and low and behold, I only had to wait 30 minutes. She didn't need to treat a handicapped senior citizen with disrespect and nasty tone of voice. The x-ray guy was fabulous as well as the dentist. read more

O stars. Save your time go else where, or definitely don't allow Joshua Burns to be your dentist. He lacks compassion and acts more like a car sales man than a dentist. I went in with swelling/infection of wisdom tooth= extraction. JOSHUA BURNS was more concerned with trying to get me to get implants, then the issue I was there for, when I continued to stay on topic of why I was there he seemed annoyed. The day of extraction JOSHUA BURNS did not explain to me prior to shoving a needle into the hole of my wisDom that I would feel any pain. When he did that I immediately reacted and body jerked up. Not on purpose of course anyone with a brain would know that. JOSHUA BURNS yelled," you need to leave now! I attempted to explain to him I didn't flintch on purpose, he continued to yell at me about how I should remember the rules the assistant told me. Really can't see how JOSHUA BURNS even became a dentist! Well my boyfriend did not appreciate JOSHUA BURNS talking to me that way. I was really generous in giving 3 stars previously. I switched to a different location for my follow up appointment as I moved to Austin. The one in Round Rock runs wayyyy smoother. I never had to reschedule, and there was little to no wait time. ALSO when I paid my bill before being seen, I was immediately given a receipt. I took a look at it while waiting for the dentist to see me, and it said I had a $5 previous balance that needed to be handled. Um?! Excuse me?! All the money I paid, the repeated sitting me down to handle payments only to be told I'm cleared, AND now out of nowhere with no previous contact I'm being told I have a balance? I'm changing dentists after this because that's absolutely ridiculous. read more

They claimed I needed a deep cleaning that cost $559.00 and 3 crowns that were in the thousands! I did not believe this. It hadn't been that long since I had been to a dentist. Do yourself a favor and schedule with Ideal Dental - Even if you have to travel further. The technology far surpasses the technology available at Aspen - making the dental visit faster, more efficient, and FAR more comfortable. Aspen requires 17+ x-ray photos using an x-ray machine from the stone ages. The mouthpiece for the X-ray was entirely too large to be shoved around in my mouth and it was so uncomfortable. I finally couldn't take it anymore and left without an exam. My experience with Ideal Dental was 1,000 times more comfortable and pleasant and they were able to get me in same day. read more

The facility was clean, the dentist was friendly and the hygienist was great. However, the billing tactics are why I give this place a 1-star review. I have dental insurance that covers 100% of prophylactic cleaning costs for in-network dentists. I verified that the location and the dentists listed on the website were in-network with my insurance. At the appointment I reconfirmed this again and they told me my copay was $0 and asked if I wanted to add fluoride which my insurance would not cover, I said sure. It was to my surprise that I received a bill for $140 in the mail after my insurance had paid them $174 for basic teeth cleaning. It turns out the dentist who said hello to me at my appointment with the dental hygienist was a dentist not listed on their website and not in my plan's network. Of course had I known they have dentists at this location not listed on their website who were also out of network I never would have visited. So be forewarned, you may be assigned an out of network dentist and unfortunately will not know ahead of time as the dentist's name is not listed on the appointment. I called to rectify this which unfortunately was a futile effort. read more

It takes so much to impress me because I've worked in halthcare and customer service all my life. The office staff and dentist at Aspen Dental on Babcock Rd in San Antonio, TX, has done just that. I have had a wonderful experience here. Not just for a single appointment, either. Aspen's philosophy of providing a non-judgmental zone is true and real at this office. I was welcomed warmly, the wait was brief, Dr. Ryan Evans and staff are completely professional and the work has far exceeded my expectations. Well done! read more
