Just had breakfast there this morning. I had huevos rancheros. It had very little green chili. Part of my breakfast was luke warm and part was cold. The coffee was luke warm. No check back by the waitress so I just ate it. Had to ask for everything....salt, pepper, ketchup, honey and wait quite a while to receive some of what was asked for even though there was hardly anyone at the cafe. Never received the honey packet. Quite pricey for what you get. Not recommended. read more

I've given this place a few tries. Our food is always cold. The food seems like a lot it is premade and reheated. Staff are professional but not very friendly. We have almost always had to have something on our check corrected. We left this time and decided we won't be back and sorry we wasted our time and money. read more

This is the worst breakfast I have ever had. My potatoes where the equivalent of them just microwaving it for 25 seconds and the seasoning made me sick. The burrito was horrible. This place is terrible and the only reason it gets any business is because of tourists and that it's the only place to eat unless if you want to go into Safeway and find something to buy. Every time we stop in we are never disappointed. All the staff are friendly, courteous, and relaxed. The food is always delicious and it's as comfortable as your own home cookin'! They have some delicious coffee options to start your morning and the food will absolutely satisfy. I liked this place a lot better when they were in their old place. It felt like a local "hole in the wall" type resturant where the food was good and the service was friendly. Not so today. For $12 dollar breakfast the food and service were less than mediocre. Their chicken fried steak and potatoes needed lots of salt for lack of flavor, the gravy too was bland but best part was my husbands pancakes were cold and hard and couldn't melt butter. I wish this resturant would perfect their cooking because Aspen Park/Conifer needs them to be successful. read more

We eat here regularly, meeting family members b/c it's half way for all of us. It's nice & clean, a great patio, and nice selection on menu. The food is above average, and the drinks are too. I have never written a nasty Yelp review before. But here goes. I just left the Aspen perk in Conifer Colorado. The girl let me sit for 15 minutes before taking my order. When she finally brought me my iced tea which I ordered unsweetened it was sweet. The reason I know I didn't order it improperly if I'm diabetic. She don't get snotty and said well I wrote it down as sweet and walked away. It's unbelievable the level of service. Normally that has been a nice restaurant. The short girl with blonde hair needs to go! Hope the owners know that she lost some business today and possibly a future customer. read more

This is the new location for Aspen Perk Coffee House in the old Heidi's Deli, in the Safeway shopping center, in Conifer. This location is on a corner with outdoor seating, which we can't wait for the warmer climates. They have great names for the sandwhich's, and burritos, a welcome variety from other sandwhich shops. Over the weekend we had the 4 cheese grilled cheese sandwhich with green chili's, and was nice and mouth watering. My wife had the soup special, a tomatoe bisque, with added chicken, hot and tasted homemade. They also have a breakfast menu, that we are looking forward to trying on our next visit. This is a good local spot, and the newer location should serve it well. read more

Since the move I have given this place a few tries and it is seriously horrible. The first time I asked for my eggs over easy one sandwich and instead of telling me they won't do it. They bring me out something I didn't ask for. Then I come in to give it another go and my eggs were way over cooked. My French toast was dead cold . The service was beyond crappy and I just paid 11 bucks for cold food and eggs that weren't what I wanted. This place is horrible. So bummed that the only breakfast place up here has gotten so crappy. Wow, so disappointing! I wanted to like it but it was terrible! Got it to go and the portions were tiny!!! Itty bitty cup of fruit served as "a side" literally two triangles of cantaloupe, that's it! It was their garnish I'm sure! Burrito was decent size but full of tomatoes and don't have peppers like I asked for. Coffee tasted like it was from a gas station (the $6 lattes mind you!) would have been better off going to Starbucks in the same shopping center. 1. I really didn't need to write this review regarding the service or food specifically. Quick note: chicken on a salad cost $5.00 extra. 2. Man playing guitar was great. I enjoyed atmosphere. Even left a tip as he was the best part of the experience. 3. Down to why I gave this 1 star. A young man in the restaurant I overheard was a former employee. Now serving drinks to a party when not employed or on shift. Walking behind the bar Wearing a cut off shit. I watched him touch his armpits several times and hand customers drinks with fruit garnishes he handled. Prior to his need to help he sat at a table with his feet up and shoes on the table while we dined. Never cleaning table from whatever grossness lives on the bottom of his shoes. My concern comes with if this is happening right in front of customers I have no faith on the standards through the rest of the restaurant. First, the local tap water tastes terrible and makes the soda and coffee taste terrible. 2 sodas, nachos with steak, side of green chili and fried green tomatoes = $40.00. The green chili was super bland. And the nachos were: chips, shredded cheese, cilantro and itsy bitsy pieces of steak. Also, the owner watches over every single thing that goes on there. Had read a few negative reviews here, so I've been reluctant to stop. But, the other morning I decided a wanted a "real" breakfast instead of the Starbucks stuff I usually get nearby. I figured what-the-heck...let's give Aspen Perk a try. I waited a few minutes to get seated in the nearly full patio. The patio itself was very pleasant, quiet (no street noise), roomy and tables were not squashed together so closely that you become a part of neighboring table's conversations whether you want to or not. Once seated, I got a coffee very quickly and ordered an omelette just a few minutes after that. Throughout my time there the waiter was very attentive to anything I might have needed. The food arrived in a very reasonable amount of time. The large 3 egg veggie omelette w/potatoes and toast was hot when received and everything was actually quite tasty. In fact, the omelette was large enough it could be split between 2 with smaller appetites than mine. I think it's a little difficult to differentiate one veggie omelette from another - so I'll just say it was very good and I ate every last bite. My overall experience was quite good and I have no qualms about eating there again. In fact, I'm a little annoyed I had bypassed this place so many times in the past because of a few negative reviews. I'm so glad I stopped and was able to experience this place by myself. I rated 4stars instead of 5 due to price. Just a bit shy of $14 for the omelette plate and coffee (w/o tip). Certainly more expensive than a Denny's or Village Inn. read more

We were passing through and stopped in for breakfast/lunch. The staff was friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was nice and cozy with lots of natural light. I ordered the aspen omelet and devoured the whole thing. It was massive and delicious!! My boyfriend ordered the pesto chicken wrap, also massive and equally delicious! I definitely would stop in here again if we were ever passing through again! Service was prompt and friendly. I ordered the pesto puff pastry breakfast dish and although it was tasty enough it didn't have any pesto or basil. We were in a hurry so I wasn't able to ask if they had run out or what. I would also order with extra hollandaise next time as I love it and theirs is tasty and really adds to it. Had a delicious brunch here this morning. The breakfast sandwich was just the right size and the sausage was crispy and juicy. The egg was cooked to perfection. My son's cinnamon french toast was a huge portion and not soggy. Will definitely return. The service was warm and very attentive from the moment we walk in the door- good job! read more

Should have listened to our intuition. When a restaurant is empty on a Saturday night, that's saying something. We stopped here because our friends needed a gluten free option. When the owner came to the table and stated that everything is made in house we really thought the food would be great. What a disappointment. Breakfast served all day was intriguing but I decided on the chicken nachos since I'd ordered a margarita already. Margarita tasted terrible. Nachos were piled high in a bowl. By the time I started eating them everything was soggy! I had some of my husbands French toast which the owner said was amazing. Uh. No. it was mediocre at best. Service was poor. Asked for sour cream that never came. Had to ask for water. Not provided when we sat down. Our friend had to flag down the server several times for another beer. All said and done it was $100 for four people. $15 nachos? That were soggy from the minute they reached the table? Don't waste your money. read more

I think this might be the worst restaurant I have ever been to. We waited 40 minutes after ordering our appetizers, only to receive 2 plates full of uncooked potatoes (1 order of loaded tots and 1 order of potato skins). Then our meal came out, all the French fries were burnt on the outside and uncooked on the inside. The hamburgers were literally pouring out grease. I asked for raw onions instead of grilled onions, but received grilled onions with the promise of raw onions later, which never arrived. Every time our waitress refilled our sodas, she mixed up the diet and regular sodas so we had to play musical chairs with our sodas, to figure out who got what. One of us ordered a salad that was basically iceberg with a few pieces of fruit that still had pits in it. Overall, there were 5 of us ordering food and everything was inedible. Don't even try going here, unless you want to sit there for 2 hours unable to eat anything. read more

We went to Starbucks for some hang out time. It was packed. literally no where to park. So, we decided to get breakfast at Aspen Perk Cafe. Well, their full breakfast menu was no longer available. Which was a bummer. The Habanero bacon burger sounded just about right. The waiter warned that it was "hot." (LOL). You all know me. The waiter. Oh my. Nice kid. Just not very good waiter skills. Barely said a word and never ever talked about anything else they offered on the menu. There were yummy flavors on a board, but we had not idea what they were for. Where they desserts? Shakes? If I had known I may have ordered something else. In fact, when we were done, he just brought us over the check. *Sigh The owner came by and raved about her food. Of course she did. I was having high hopes. The very first BAD sign was we weren't asked how we wanted our hamburger cooked. Our guess, is it was going to be well done. Yup. Not the way we like it, but at least it wasn't raw. The presentation was pretty. I didn't like that they used American Cheese (probably the cheapest). I'm not a huge fan. The bun seemed old. They did toast it, but it didn't hide that it was dry and crunchy (like old, not toasted). The hamburger "sauce" was about as spicy as my two-day old salsa (you know spice mellows out after time). So, it was spicy and I can see how for some it would be VERY hot. It was tasty (probably because of the spice, because the meat wasn't juicy or anything special), but nothing fabulous. I ordered another Habanero and the chef in all his wisdom just put three whole peppers in a bowl. Really? Frustrating. I did chop one up and put it on my hamburger. Now, that was HOT! Yum. The few fries we got were way overcooked and thin. Zero spices, yup not even salt. It was like eating small pieces of cardboard. I want to give it another shot just because the owner told us about the Bloody Marys. I'm looking at the picture below of one, and it doesn't look anything like she described it. ???? One morning I came in with a business partner planning to have breakfast and do some computer work. Sidebar: I'm well aware that there's a Starbucks next door, but I like to show patronage for small/local business. There was a younger gal who sat us and she was somewhat friendly. She gave us the wi-fi password. We pulled out our laptops. All of a sudden we could feel that were getting the evil eye from some of the employees. We ordered coffees and my colleague ordered green chili (it was gross but that's besides the point). Uh-oh, the juice on my laptop was reaching 0%. I pulled out my laptop charger and did what any normal person would do... dare I say... I plugged it into an outlet in the wall. Before we could even order the rest of our food--and we were definitely planning on ordering a meal--we were approached by an older waitress who said something to the effect of, "Excuse me, but the owner said that we can't allow you to do that..." Love this place!! One of our favorites. Stumbled upon the Perk one day when I needed a coffee and saw the Starbucks sign on the highway. Didn't see the Sbux right away, but saw Aspen Perk, went in and ordered one of their (delicious) holiday lattes...been hooked ever since!! Becca is wonderful and we enjoy seeing her every time we come in! The food is great, and we love the holiday specialty coffee menu.
