I visited Assembly Rooftop Lounge yesterday and I must say I was impressed. It was a slow night but it gave my friend and I more of an opportunity to enjoy the scenery. The fire pits are amazing around this time of the year; the view is superb. Service was great, bartender was friendly and drinks were wonderful. Food selection is more of an appetizers menu, a little on the pricey side but tasty. Crowd was pretty mature, chill night. Overall a great vibe. read more

Big fan of Assembly for all occasions. Great date spot, business drinks or just enjoying the sunset with friends. Bartenders are great and service is fast. Drinks are obviously pricey but what do you expect? Atmosphere is fantastic anytime, even in the colder months it is enjoyable with the fire tables. read more

The service is great and it's a nice conversation piece being as though it over looks the city. I love the exclusivity of the location and the decor. It was hard to decide whether to give this place 3 or 4 stars. In the end I decided 3. I only came here to check it out and have a drink or two. I was excited about Assembly because I love places with views. When you first enter you go into a hallway that brings you to the elevator where the elevator operator takes you to the top floor where the lounge is. The best part about this place is that the view was spectacular and the atmosphere is awesome. The downfalls though is that when I went, on an early Saturday evening, it was pretty crowded and the bar was especially crowded. Another major drawback of Assembly was the prices. It cost $16 for a Margarita. They definitely put enough tequila in there, which made me feel a little better that it cost that much, but because of that I was in and out because I didn't want to pay another $16 for a drink. In the end it is a cool place to try and it wouldn't be bad to go for one drink every once in a while, but I definitely won't be consistently coming back. read more

Like most rooftop bars, drinks are pricey - but they have a good variety of cocktails. I had a Frose - which was delicious. They only had the regular frose when I came, but I think they usually have another flavor. Views of the museums are gorgeous - and it was nice to have the fire pits to stay warm on a cooler fall evening. Overall, great environment - just a little pricey to drink more than 1 or 2 cocktails. read more

The GM Troy and our waitress Lashonda took GREAT care of me and my party of 10. I arrived around 5:30 PM was greeted, escorted up the elevator, and found seating on the rooftop with no problem at all ( it's first come first serve). All the staff I interacted with were very friendly. The food was delish. My guests and I were VERY happy with the service and the ambiance is amazing! It's a great atmosphere! Of course the view is gorgeous, the staff are all exceptionally nice (& beautiful). I think the space is perfect, the decor is very nice and contempo. There are two birdcage swings that sits inside but faces the balcony which is really cute for couples. The drinks are on point, we had the Old Cuban & the margarita. The food menu is kinda limited but we enjoyed our choices. I had the flatbread and my friend ordered the tuna tartar. This will be my new spot to take any summer time visitors! read more

I have mixed feelings. The place has a cool view of the city, but it is not your average bar in the city. Expect a high class/ trendy group of people at the bar with overpriced drinks. I appreciated that they tried to take care of crowd control by limiting the amount of people that could come up, but the place was so cramped it was hard to figure out a spot to stand without being in the way of others walking. read more

Really nice views but like most rooftops, overpriced drinks. My friend was pushed by the waitress a couple of times but when my friend confronted her, she apologized. It seems like the space can be a little tight if you just want to stand and look at the view as opposed to pay for a table. Coworkers and I planned a little happy hour and decided to come at Assembly. It was a perfect spot. Very expensive drinks yet yummy, interesting menu of small bites and stunning view over the parkway. We had an amazing time despite the rain. Something that needs to be taken in consideration when it comes to places like this. Like someone else has noted, I am also glad that there's a cool place like Assembly in the city. I took off one star as customer service was a little slow. May be understandable with the amount of people that was coming after the work hours. Assembly puts up velvet ropes and makes people wait to try and seem exclusive, when it's not. We were staying in the hotel. We couldn't get a table on a Monday night because a third of the place was roped off. The hostess kindly told me I could sit in the roped area, but the manager kicked me out a moment later. He said they had an "event" there later in the week: "later," as in not that night or even the next. The hostess confirmed she said I could sit there so the manager added me to the "wait list." I counted at least four "reserved" tables with no-one at them. But I guess they need fake exclusion to justify a $19 glass of cheap wine. I waited a few minutes then gave up and left. The manager called me "impatient" as I walked out. It's real A-list customer service here. read more

I would never go here again nor recommend. The staff and our original waiter was so rude to us (I had to ask for another person to serve us). I honestly couldn't believe it, I've never been treated like that. I expected different here since it's all overpriced and fancy. They rush you out since there's a time limit, but take an hour to get you one drink. Food took forever too and wasn't worth it, and then they overcharged us on the bill with things we didn't order. DRINKS: They have very good drinks and a great selection if spirits. I recommend their Old Fashion. ATMOSPHERE: The place can get quite busy at night. Prepare to be in a tight space. It's nice that they have seating outside which gives you a view of Logan Square. The fire and heaters help with the cold, but I'd recommend staying bundled up as it gets quite cold on the rooftop. Inside has a nice large bar and some high boy tables. I would definitely recommend this place for a nice drinking spot at night with the great view and mixed cocktails. read more

Overpriced drinks and terrible service! Our waitress clearly did not value us as customers as she looked at us and continuously walked by our table without refreshing our drinks. When she finally came by, she asked for our orders and walked off while we were placing our order. After that she never returned, and we had to ask a different server to close our tab. The view at the rooftop is amazing. But, I work right next door, and I have a few complaints about The Assembly. First, if you go when it's nice out and super sunny, you basically get baked on the rooftop (so be prepared and maybe bring sunscreen). The actual rooftop space is also pretty small, especially if you want a table or something to stand/sit around because there just aren't a lot of tables. In the winter, they have fire pits, but nowhere to put your drinks down near the fire pits. Finally, the drinks are super pricey here (probably look forward to spending at least $15 to $20 on a cocktail). read more

We were hotel guests, sat at a table - the host didn't mention she had to sit us she just said "go ahead" I found and empty table that hadn't been bused yet and thought someone would come to clean it up. No one came. I asked someone who worked there and she grabbed the dirty dishes and said she's get a server. Giving this place 2 stars for the view. I drove 45 mins to get there & when I arrived I asked the hostess to point me to the nearest restroom. While me & my sister are in the restroom she proceeds to tell my boyfriend we are "antsy & could have waited till we got on the second floor". That was an unnecessary comment but only the beginning of the bad service. The food menu is light and so is the wine list for a lounge that charges a $10 cover. I ordered a red Pinot Meunier for $17 a glass. The waitress brings me a cold sour glass of wine & tells me it's cold because they are preserving it. This isn't my first glass of red wine, after the "preserving"spill she ask would I like a glass from a fresh bottle, duh!.I've owned a bar before my advice to the owner is have your staff date the wine & take the red wine out the fridge prior to opening so it's warm, most red wine drinkers want their red wine room temperature not chilled and sour. The first time I came to assembly it was in the evening with a group of friends just to have some small bites and drinks while enjoying the music. I enjoyed the audience as it attracted a lot of young professionals and a variety of people from diverse backgrounds. Decent views of the city. Assembly is located on the 9th floor. Space wise - this place is big enough for groups if you reserve in time and looking for a trendy place. Definitely a fun and hip spot to hang out. They have large firepits surrounded by plush seating outside, all overlooking Logan Square (it's actually located on the roof of the Logan Hotel). The problem was, it was very windy when I was there so we only stayed outside for a little while. Very cool ambiance. Pretty standard price for drinks. There was no cover when I was there. I'm not sure if that is typical or not. There is an option to sit inside too, so you don't have to worry if the weather is bad. I'd like to return when it's warmer! Great views of the city! One of my favorite rooftop bars in philly sans a cover charge. I also appreciate that they "allow" men to wear shorts here unlike Stratus which I think is somewhat a similar crowd and energy. I didn't have an opportunity to try the food here but the frozen rose was on point and pineapple beer delicious! What a nice ambiance! The view is incredible, you can see up Benjamin Franklin Parkway to the art museum to the left, and down it to City Hall to your right. There are white couches with gas powered fire places in front of them. Plenty of outdoor seating and a long bar full of unique drinks. I came here to try their frosé, and it was the best one out of the three I sampled that day. I'll definitely be back! read more

Lovely place to go ... if you have the moolah. Had two long islands which were delicious but were a hefty $37ish bucks for both. Were surrounded by people in suits and ties and heels and blazers, but we felt well fitted yet dressed as Bey and Jay on the downlow lol. Did not try any food but drinks were some of the best we've ever had (no idea what is put in there but it isn't your typical cheap corner bar LI's) and view is awesome great. We felt very special with escorts to the main bar area. Felt like royalty when I was back in Asia! Def enjoyed it here but isn't your place to get sh**faced. If you like expensive salty food pulled out of a freezer bag and served on tiny plates this is the place for you! Server could not say what would be on charcuterie plate or cheese plate. It was "chef's choice" which by the quality of the other salty bits (dried out mostly breaded sardines, unpalatable salmon cakes) could have included "American" cheese or spam. I love rooftop bars and my baseline is the many many I visit in NYC. So, yeah, Assembly is up against quite a standard. And yet, the service was excellent. Which is *not* the norm of rooftop bars anywhere. I'm use to service being terrible unless you're at the bar. The drinks were good, and the food was great. If I had to complain, I'd say the tuna tartar could use more chips, but holy crap, is that a petty complaint. I recommend Assembly. It's a great spot. read more

Quick review: A long wait, uninformed front staff, and whatever nonsense reason for not being allowed in (which could have been told the first two times we went to the front staff to ask about the reservation) My friend got an email for us to come see this place for its soft opening on Saturday, and boy was it a terrible experience. We were told to get there around 8 (which we did) only to be told that they were at full capacity. The front staff said it would be a 15 min wait and they would give us a call when ready. 40 mins go by and still no call so we went back for an update. They said it may take 30 more mins now. We decided we'd just go to a bar while waiting. We get a call 45 mins later and we head over, only to be told by front staff that we couldn't enter due to our attire. We asked what the dress code was and they couldn't even explain. Of course, we saw people get in with the same sort of attire, but at that point we had enough. read more

I came here for a sponsored event. With good weather and great company, the event was a lot of fun, the views were amazing and the drinks and food were fine. It did not, however, make up for the fact that I would never come here on my own dime or time. Upon entering the Logan Hotel, you're directed towards the elevator. Once you get there, you realize there is a queue to go upstairs. A hostess defaults to saying the space is full and she needs to take down your name. I told her that I was joining a reserved party for an event, and she decided to let me into the queue after momentarily thinking about it. When I got out of the elevator upstairs, the lounge did not seem to be thaaaat crowded for a happy-hour time frame. Our waitress throughout the night, while friendly was busy; it seemed that they were a bit understaffed. I stuck to rosé for the night, and I'm not sure which one she poured for me but it was delicious. My friend's Price of Wales pineapple cocktail was very sweet, but good if you prefer sugary drinks. The cocktails were also decently strong. For food, we got a lot of small bites to share while we were there (and they were quite unfilling... we got meatball subs after the party lol). The garden mezze had great presentation and the fresh root vegetables were delicious, especially the sweet mini cooked carrots. The cherry jam that came with the baked brie really elevated the dish, though there's not nearly enough toast for the dish to be enjoyed or shared. While I didn't have the tuna tartare or flatbread, I heard they were delicious. FINALLY, a decent place in Philadelphia! Let me start by saying that this place reminds me of the fabulous lounge bars in Miami or NYC. The decor is perfect; but the ambiance is really made by the people. People have complained about the wait in line. Well, If you attempt to go in flip flops, wearing an Eagles jersey, and looking like you just rolled out of bed, the wait to get in will mysteriously get long... Drinks are pricey, yes, but this because this bar is catering more to professionals and not to a young crowd of students on a budget. At $25 a pop, this is the place you go for a date, pre-dinner drinks, or just chill with friends while listening to the amazing Ibiza tunes in the background, and not to get wasted. And PLEASE, dress up. Philadelphia is getting known for having zero fashion sense. read more

Went here on a Friday night for a friends birthday. We tried to reserve a table in advance but they require a $1,000 food and drink minimum which is a bit much for 8 people. There are a nice amount of drink options but very limited food options. I would highly recommend eating before you come as food options are limited, and overpriced. The views are amazing, and ultimately you pay for the views with the high prices. I thought it was strange that the kitchen closed before midnight and the place serves drinks until 1am or 2am. Don't think it's the best choice to close the kitchen so early while still pouring up drinks. The staff were ok - weren't overly friendly or overly rude. This city doesn't have enough rooftops downtown. Assembly used to be one of the only options with a view but it does rooftops very well. 9 stories above the Logan hotel (formerly the 4 Seasons) looking down on the Parkway is an oasis of craft cocktails, open air seating, and amazing views. Assembly is actually great year-round. Summer= sunlight and rosé. Winter= Fire pits! Even a snow day doesn't close Assembly down. They actually have snow day specials if you can brave the weather. On a popping day, expect a line and a discerning door man. On a slower day, it's a free for all. There's ONE THING that Assembly is missing: good music. All of the above, sans the views, can be found at any respectable spot on the city but how many spots offer a danceable soundtrack to go along with all of that?
