I was in the valley and I decided to try given the amazing yelp reviews. It was not that busy when I walked in so the cashier was able to answer my questions and guide me with the menu. I got a whole chicken with the sides and I decided to try the Peruvian ceviche. The chicken was good, seasoning was there. It was already precut for me so that's was kind. I was really looking forward to the ceviche and it was not good. The lime juice or the leche de Tigre was very bitter, and it just didn't taste good... Something was off about the ceviche, perhaps it spoiled quickly as my drive back home was an hour, i unfortunately had to throw it away because it did not taste edible. Service is quite friendly, and quick. I'd come give it a second try for the ceviche, maybe it was not the freshest batch or my commute was too long but I don't think food spoils that rapidly. We got a whole chicken with two sides and the side of fries was such a huge portion but were not seasoned well. We also ordered the Peruvian chow mein, and that tasted much better than the chicken. So just to let some of you Pablito's Tacos followers they are the same restaurant chain in Burbank except that this includes a Peruvian twist on the menu. The owner is Peruvian and his wife is Mexican so he wanted to include his cuisine. If you sit on the dining area you may get lucky and watch a video where he is cooking his dishes. It's a Peruvian restaurant but new owner and different name, and when I called to order they didn't care to mention it, I thought I heard Pablitos Tacos and asked if I was calling the correct place and they said yes. This place sells Mexican and Peruvian food- when you try to do different cuisines the flavor is never authentic. I've been to so many Peruvian restaurants and being friends with multiple Peruvian families, I've had restaurant and home made Peruvian food. The pollo rostisado was the worst I've ever had! The aji didn't even taste like aji at all!! The cherry on top was the overpriced $7 chicha that didn't taste like chicha! I thought I was drinking sangria!!! As someone who used to come here when it used to be Pollo Sherman I was sad to hear they went out of business. I say this very confidently that their chicken is very similar! The chicken is very flavorful and juicy as well. Pollo Sherman's was a bit dryer but what sold it to me was the crispy skin which pollo Sherman did so well. They must have the same chief in the back because the flavor of the chicken is pretty spot on. The fries were the cherry on top! You can tell they make the fries by hand because they aren't your generic French fry. The platanitos were great too, but felt a bit dry for my taste. Now where I feel they are lacking is their salsas. The green sauce is okay but wish it had a better spicy kick. They have this weird orange sauce that I personally feel like it would go good with Sushi. Other than that the food was really good and worth the price!
