I went in to pick up an order for a customer, i went in and the main doors were closed. I had to go around and find a dood, once i found it i went in, waited a while and rang the bell to get helped. A guy comes out clearly upset asks me to close the door, i tell him im ubering and refuses to give me the food unless i close the door i close the door and he proceeds to give me the food. The lomo saltado steak was lean and well marinated with loads of flavor. The rice was an excellent texture, probably the best I've had, and the fries weren't too soggy. It was an almost perfect dish. I thought there was slightly too much onion, but it didn't interfere with the overall meal. Initially, the service, although friendly, was a bit slow. Once the order was taken, things moved along quickly. The restaurant is located on the busy street corner of Balboa and Chatsworth, but parking isn't hard to find. Sometimes you just have to take a chance on a restaurant that's not a 4-5 stars because there's a chance they can aspire to that, and El Incomparable Peruvian certainly fits that. We ordered the Platano Frito (fried plantain bananas), lomo saltado, and Pollo saltado. These are my usual barometer when trying new Peruvian restaurants. To start, the aji sauce is creamy and delicious, although lacking a little bit of that heat. Delicious nonetheless, and works well with their bread and our entrée. My picky mom usually doesn't venture out of her comfort zone of Asian cuisine, but she loves the food here. The Platano Frito were perfectly well done, with their golden brown outer layer that adds just a hint of crust around the soft, delicious sweet plantain. They're just heavenly. My dish is the classic Lomo Saltado and it is beautifully presented on its unique plate. It looks so good just by looking at it and tastes just as well! The cuts of beef are grilled nicely with flavor and texture, while the onions and tomato balance things out with their sweetness. Finally fries and rice help to soak up the very delicious lonito, the mouth watering broth and soy sauce that makes the dish work so well and is the signature taste of a good Lomo Saltado. The Pollo Saltado also works very well in this regard, although given the choice, I'll always choose lomo over Pollo saltado because of the the way the beef works better with the Lonito. I came back to this restaurant after three years to give them a chance. Breakfast Desayuno Criollo #1 Chicharron, Tamal y Camote. The pork looks like it was from couple weeks ago so grease overfried. First time try this place and it is near the Main Kitchen restaurant! I order Lomo Salto and mango drink. It was so good combination! They provide their complementary bread with their Peruvian sauce! So good, I love their green sauce, it had a kick of spicy. They do have bathroom. Their services are pretty fast and cleaned. I like how their restaurant had beautiful painting wall. If there is -0 I'll give this place... the taste is so bad. My lomo maltado is so bland.. and my husband chicken with potato is so salty. It's like a cup of salt was pour in his food. So we told the server. And they change it but the chicken is still salty.. I think the chicken is marinated prior cooking and they put tons of salt so when you sautéed it with the veggies it's still in the meat.. my beef is so bad,potatoes is soggy,egg is not fresh and the ceviche is not even that fresh. Love the food here!!! So much flavor and the plating looks amazing! I've been eating here since it opened but I feel like the last month or two the food has gone up a notch and it was already incredible. I don't know what the change is but I'm definitely satisfied. The causa de tuna is always a must! The tacu tacu and lomo saltado are my fave dishes but everything I've had here is great! I think my only complaint is that I wish the bread was toasted or warm when they give it to you as you wait for your food. I had forgotten about El Incomparable. Then tonight a certain Armenian chicken chain refused our Grubhub order so I checked Yelp for another chicken place and rediscovered El Incomparable. I ordered the whole chicken which came with 2 sides. We chose a house salad and fried plantains for the sides. The food was delivered 20 minutes earlier than promised so we were off to a good start. The large chicken was cut into quarters. It was juicy and the marinade added a subtle sweet flavor. The salad was Romaine lettuce topped with cucumber, beets, and tomatoes. I was introduced to this amazing Peruvian Restaurant on my birthday in July 2016 by a co-worker. I've been hooked ever since!!! The shrimp fried rice in the pic is sooo goood. The Peruvian seasoning and with the shrimp is mouth-watering and if I wasn't on my healthy portion control plan I'd eat the whole pan. And the chicken. In the pic says it all! Solid 4 stars for this place!! Nice to have a good Peruvian restaurant open up in the neighborhood. Not the best I've had but definitely on the good side. We really enjoyed the food and looking forward to coming back. Their causa was really delicious, they had a nice presentation and the potatoes were super soft. We wanted to get the tuna causa but they didn't have it. :( Hopefully next time they will. The chicken chaufa was good however I wasn't too crazy for the chicken but the rice was very flavorful and good. The lucma cheesecake was definitely one of a kind. I really loved it, it beats cheesecake factory cheesecake I will say that!! Service was good, the people helping us were attentive and talkative. They could definitely improve on their bread I really didn't like it too much and also just decorating the interior of the restaurant. I know they just opened but they could definitely add some colors to their wall. Also, they get super busy we came here Friday night and it was a 35min wait we ended up coming the following day for lunch and thankfully no wait. The parking situation could be difficult good luck finding a spot either find one on the street or park across the street at Wallgreens and walk.
