They kept dodging us when we asked for proof of the $700 before paying, and only after we REFUSED to hand over money without seeing it in writing did the employee finally check and admit it was $350. That is not a simple mistake. They were trying to get us financially committed to the new phone first, knowing we'd be far less likely to back out once we had already paid and received it. Then the manager, Ana Melendez, somehow made it even worse. Zero apology. Zero remorse. She acted annoyed that we were even confronting them, said things like "What do you want me to do?" and "Do you want the phone or not?", and then threatened to call the police on us. Yes, $780 a year more to me. They did this surreptitiously without my knowledge and I normally don't look at my bill but this one time I did and spotted the fraud. AT&T added TWO extra phone numbers to my account--numbers I never asked for, never approved, and never even knew existed--yet they've been charging me for them every single month. When I went into the store to confront them, expecting accountability and a clear fix, I was told that I should have known about the fraudulent lines they added. The audacity is unbelievable. On top of that, AT&T has been charging me for an Apple Watch line I never activated, and despite clear evidence that I never used or requested it, they refuse to issue a credit. No responsibility. No remedy. Nothing but finger-pointing and nonsense. After 25 years of loyalty, this is how they treat their customers: * Fraudulent lines added without consent * Monthly charges for devices never activated * No ownership of their mistakes * Blaming the customer instead of fixing the problem AT&T has made it crystal clear that loyalty means nothing to them, and their business practices are shady at best.
