Both introduce themselves by name and it was almost like being invited into church on Sunday morning. I honestly said "Dang, y'all are too kind!" Working retail can really take the nice out of people but this was not the case. In May, the battery died on my year-old…read morei-phone and since I didn't have it insured, I was sold a new i-phone 14 for $875. plus a new insurance contract, which with taxes & fees came to about $1,000. I thought that I was upgrading my cell phone, but actually I was starting a slow torture. The young girl who had handled the transaction, did not bother to enter any correct information into the computer and since nothing was correct, the service was suspended on the next billing cycle and the new phone was locked. She said that she had entered the information from my old phone. Actually, she had entered my birth date as Sept. 1915, my address as Upper Saddle River, NJ, some unknown email address, an unknown passcode and some unknown credit card. So Cricket, the cell phone carrier suspended service and locked the cell phone when the next month's payment did not go through. I went back to the store a few times and waited and waited. They said that they had emailed messages to me, but that was not my email address. I was told that the young lady had been fired, but they could do nothing about correcting the billing records. They insisted on fees and penalties to reinstate the service and now I could not keep my old phone number. I was not going to give them another dollar, instead I went to two other carriers and tried to reestablish the phone service. They told me that I had to go back to the initial provider and have them remove the lock. After a month without a cell phone, I gave up on trying to correct the problem. I had to start from scratch with a new cheap phone on a new carrier with nothing transferred.. Now I have a new Samsung Galaxy A14 on the Spectrum Mobile network and at least this phone number works. (New Phone #336-590-0291), I would appreciate any suggestions that any of you may have for the reinstatement of my old Cricket phone number and /or the return of the locked i-phone 14.
