I booked an appointment (do it) and Matt was the only person working. I was there to get a new phone and set it up. Total pro, showed me the various phones I was interested and showed me pros v cons of each. After I decided on which phone Matt went through the paperwork and then started setting up my phone. Throughout the process if people came in, Matt would speak with to get a feel for what they needed and he would break away from me and help them while continuing to check the progress on my phone and then back to next person. It was so smooth and effortless. The setup of course takes a while and the entire time Matt was a total pro. The time he put in and the way he presented my options- couldn't put a price on it - great value! I never thought I would yelp an AT&T store! read more

If I could give 1 star I would. Stay away from Jared. He is extremely unprofessional and does not know the business. He gives wrong information, mixes your account, wastes you time and money and extremely rude. His mistakes will cost you. He lies and when you ask for a manager he doesn't let you speak to them. He says he is leaving your number for manager but doesn't. This was the worst experience I have had. And I purchased 7 devices and switch carriers. I'm blown away how we were treated. read more

I had a major issue with my phone which required technical assistance to get it up-and running. Jesse was so helpful. He was extremely patient and kind while I spoke with AT&T customer technical support. Since my phone was non functional, Jesse was so kind to allow me to use the store phone until completion. He also replaced my SIM card. I really appreciate his kind customer service. Jesse is a wonderful asset to the customer service and sales team. Great experience. I am not really understanding the negative reviews for this store. Worked with both Jason & Oliver for an upgrade of my iPhone. Really appreciated their patience and guidance in helping me get the best phone for my needs. Very friendly and even helped me to save money on my family plan while upgrading my service. Would recommend this location- no appointment was necessary and even went back a few days later to upgrade my daughter's phone as a result of the great customer service. I arrived at 4:20 looking to upgrade my iPhone 8. Door locked, though a person inside is visible, seated i behind the counter. Note on door says "out for lunch til 6pm". ??? What retail business takes 1.5 hours for lunch at 4:30? I returned to my car and consulted Yelp. After reading an untold number of horrible reviews, citing dishonest, unprofessional staff, I feel fortunate that the guy behind the desk was taking a long lunch. I was in here last month with my wife to activate her new phone. While I was there the young man suggested I could save $60 a month by moving to a new unlimited plan, going autopay and going paperless. I received my bill this month and it was nearly double what I was paying. I have now spent over 1/2 hour on the phone with AT&T customer service to resolve this issue but I feel very much bamboozled by the young men working at that store. Be careful when upgrading plans with these two with the expectation of saving money. read more

Disaster. The last time I've seen something like this was back in developing countries. Store working hours on Saturday are 11 to 7. I stopped by at 4 just to see the handwritten message on a window "On lunch will be back 4:50", doors locked but I saw a person inside who just ignored me and disappeared through a back door when I knocked on a door. Jason helped me start my trade in today. In summary, I thought he was really nice and feel I came out better than done this online, myself. He stood up and greeted me when I entered, and answered all my questions. He looked at my current phone, gave me a good trade-in amount, helped me decide which phone to buy, kept me within the amount of memory that suited my needs (tempting as it was to get more), and placed the order. He kept everything simple, my top priority. I came home with more energy than anticipated, and with a clear understanding the terms and the transaction details. I appreciate that so much more than the dizzying 'new phone fever' I'm used to getting pulled into. This store has taken a very bad turn. I've been doing business with it for decades. A new manager, Jason Drake, replaced the long time manager and has destroyed the customer trust. I was there on his first day, he was condescending to the other employees and then ripped me off. He purposely hid details about a "deal" he offered me. I brought the deception to AT&T's attention, they said that only the store could resolve it. Jason Drake made no attempt to fix what he did and became combative when it was clear that he'd been caught. It's sad that the goodwill built by the previous manager has been ruined by this current manager. I'm sure someone higher up than Jason Drake is ultimately responsible for these dirty tricks. read more

I had a terrible experience at this store today and was shocked how dishonest and misleading the staff is. Let me explain the entire story. I went to the store and requested for an iPhone upgrade for my teenage daughter. I had an old phone and the sales guy gave me a trade-in value of $350 after properly inspecting it. Based on the trade-in value, I gave a go ahead to proceed with the upgrade. He gave me the new monthly installment based on the trade-in value and I gave my okay based on the numbers he showed. In the middle of the process he tells me that you'll only get the trade-in value if you upgrade your calling plan to 'unlimited'. Although I wasn't pleased with the change, I agreed to the plan upgrade. After the payment was processed and my plan was upgraded, he tells me that he doesn't have time to process the trade-in today and I'll have to come some other time. I pushed back and told him clearly that I need everything completed the same day, as thats what he promised to start with. Few minutes later ,this sals guy leaves the store without saying anything. I asked the lady, who might be his manager to complete the rest of the process. She looks at the phone and tells me that she can only provide me a trade-in value of 80 cents. CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS? I said if you can't give me the trade-in value, you promised, I want everything to be canceled. I don't need the new phone either. She told me that I'll have to pay the restocking fee to take the phone back. When I reminded her about the value promised by other guy, she said you'll have to deal with him directly, when he is back next day. This store is full of dishonest people, who'll lie in you face shamelessly to get their commission for plan upgrades. Find another place for your phone upgrades. I had a surreal experience there...and eventually left the store super pissed. The salesperson there was so full of himself and absolutely the rudest person I have met in a long time. He was pushing me to upgrade to a certain phone since my trade-in was "only" good through today...how convenient and BS. When I asked to give me the monthly payment vs all that "wow" discount amounts he was blasting me with, so I could compare apples to apples, he literally gave me the "Time Out " sign in front of me (since he became irate I dared to ask him a pertinent question that required him to do a little work). Super inappropriate to do that to a customer in their face. See, he was ticked off that I was ** not ** buying his professional "recommendation" and huge savings BS story face value. So I walked out. After completing the port process, the AT&T associates told us that the initial associate that helped add me to my partner's account and sold me my new phone made a large mistake. The associates at this store decided they "can't" help me. They told us to go over to a corporate AT&T instead. I asked if she could call over to explain to them what's happening so that the solution can be expedited. She refused saying they won't listen to her anyway. It's wild to me that they wouldn't do even the bare minimum. You might be thinking that they were busy. No. The two of them were watching Finding Nemo. There weren't any other customers in the store. The woman that was seemingly "training" the other employee was basically in sweats and mentioned something about otter rape. To say they need customer service and training is an understatement. UPDATE: went to the other, corporate store. Turns out the first store ported my number incorrectly and it has now caused us to have to call the 611 number to hopefully fix this issue. For now, they caused us tons of time and potentially an extra $20 a month because we have a third line on our account that they added because they did a standard port instead of a port to replace. This "authorized dealer" should no longer be authorized. According to the corporate store, the terrible and incorrect service by this store is very common. read more

Employees at this AT&T location are dishonest. I went in to refill my prepay account. When salesperson Jared unable to clarify discrepancies with the remaining minutes in my account I decided not to proceed with the transaction at this store. Jared retuned my credit card and told me no transaction had taken place. I went to the AT&T store at San Leandro later in the day. The helpful salesperson Yosalin at San Leandro clarified my questions and I refilled my account at that location. A few weeks later, I noticed both San Leandro and Los Gatos stores have charged me. I initiated the dispute process against the Los Gatos location. The store produced an unsigned invoice as an evidence to the credit card company and lied that they were trying to chase after me as I forgot to sign. I'm flabbergasted by the total lack of integrity demonstrated by this store. I will continue to dispute this charge not because of money but because I'm unwilling to be victimized by dishonesty. I also want potentially customers to be aware so you can take steps to protect yourself. read more

I recently visited this store to migrate my phone plan to another phone. Not only were they unaware of how to properly execute the process (I was advised that the plan I had might not transfer properly to the newer phone), but they failed to let me know that there was also chance I would never be able to restore the plan to my original phone if the process failed. I lost my grandfathered plan, the function of the iPhone I walked in with, and was expected to pay for SIM cards for each swap (old phone, new phone, old phone) even though now I couldn't use either of the phones. They only let me know afterwards that I might have gotten SIM cards from Apple for free and brought them in to eschew the cost involved in the process. At ten dollars a pop, I would have paid $30 extra dollars for the privilege of being forced to get a more expensive plan with less features. All of which pales in comparison to the fact that despite being completely calm, polite, and full of smiles I was YELLED at by a sales associate (edit: It seems as though it may have been the manager) for asking (not demanding) him to make an exception for the cost of the SIM card when I gave up (since they had no means or intention of fixing the problem that had arisen trying to simply go back to what I had brought into the store) and agreed to get a new, more expensive plan. This store is, in a word, awful. I have never had to deal with more incompetent people. Not only does it take forever for the staff here to figure out what needs to be done to resolve your issue--I had to wait 10 minutes for them to produce a form that was located under the counter the whole time--but they fail at solving the issue. I'm not talking about simply picking up a new phone or paying or any of the standard things. They can barely handle that, for sure, but as far as helping you when you need to replace a phone or set up a new phone number, they are incompetent and unapologetic for making multiple egregious errors. My dad got a new phone here and it took them FIVE days to set it up when they told him as he left the store that all he needed to do was turn it on. They told him at least twice that they had messed up and that the issue was now resolved. Was it? Nope. He was at a conference without a cellphone and unable to connect with his family thanks to the staff here's ridiculousness. When he called them (once his phone started working) about his complaints, the manager went on a tirade about how hard working the staff was here and how courteous and professional they are. My dad hadn't even told him what the problem was and the manager failed to ask. Courteous customer service? I think not. Personally, I was told by the staff here that to replace a faulty phone all I needed to do was take a form and trade it in to the replacement center, located in San Jose, 20-25 minutes from where I live. After driving out there, I was informed that I needed particular account information that I was never, ever told I would need by the representatives at the store itself. I wasted an hour driving to and fro this place and sitting around the store trying to figure out how to get this account information. And I never got my replacement phone. ATT, you are a huge company. You should be able to figure out how to staff your stores with people who actually know what they are doing and who don't treat their job like a frat house. This is the impression I get from this location. Needless to say, I'm going to find another store to interface with and, once my contract expires, probably a new phone company. read more

My new phone works, which is the only positive thing I can say about my experience at this store. The sales rep who helped me yesterday, I believe her name was Colleen, added insurance to my plan and flat out lied about it. She actually pointed out the charge on the paperwork I signed and said, almost verbatim, "I didn't add this, just wanted to note that you have insurance on this phone." I commented that I did not recall having insurance, but since I share my plan with my mom and my sister, I thought perhaps one of them had added it to my line by mistake. She proceeded to try and convince me that I should pay $30 a month to get insurance on all three devices on my account (I definitely don't need that, but she tried hard to change my mind). Feeling a little suspicious and generally put-off by the entire experience, I called AT&T today and sure enough, the insurance was added yesterday while I was getting my new phone. Shocker! Avoid this place, as they will not only secretly add services you did not ask for, but they will also try to upsell you on the same crap they just illegally added without your consent. read more

Went to the Los Gato CA store today and bought a new cell phone. I got home and realized I had no receipt. I called the store and the guy who answered the phone wouldn't help me. He said legally they don't have to give me a receipt and kept saying I have to drive back to the store. He then hung up on me. Very rude. I still can't believe this. I called AT&T customer service and spoke to Wendy who helped me set up an online account (something the girl at the store should have done) and then she mentioned a $30 one time activation fee. That was never explained to me in the store. I don't understand why the girl who sold me the phone didn't go over the $30 access charge, setting up the online account or the "how to pay" instructions. I walked in August of last year to buy a new phone for my son ....when my transaction was complete I was showered with free ear pods cases fir my new phone , screen protector. Then I find out that he rolled all these "promotional" free items into a 12 month pay plan added to my bill. Spent several months trying to get this resolved. He finally reasoned this bill issue 6 months later only to check my auto pay bill that monthly payment charge resurfaced. AVOID THIS ATT STORE. I'm done being their customer. read more

Purchased a phone at this store. The sales guy told me that the charger, case and screen protector came free with the phone. Comes to find out, I was charged in full for it. He also shared there was also a promo on the phone, called customer service because after the 60 day period I was told to wait I still wasn't being credited for it. My experience at this retailer was really disappointing. Hopefully others might benefit from hearing about my experience. My family recently switched from Verizon to AT&T. Despite a very long wait we initially found the staff very friendly. We were told we would get "up to" $650 for the Verizon phones traded in depending on condition, version etc. It was framed as though we would save significantly by switching and, we'd all have new phones as a bonus. We asked about international coverage and were told AT&T has great coverage and we would need to activate international coverage online. All seemed pretty reasonable to us so we agreed to switch. We were told we could keep our Verizon phones for a short time to ensure we didn't lose any data in the transition. We were SUPER happy. When we brought the Verizon phones in I was told the store would give me partial credit for each phone and I had to submit an application for the remainder of the phone credit. Along with the application I needed a copy of the final Verizon bill to show the buyout fees. This was new news. I returned with a copy of the final Verizon bill. I was then told that the Verizon bill I submitted didn't contain information showing the phones I returned matched the phones on the bill. The AT&T team would submit the application but they couldn't guarantee we would get full credit for the phones. Again, more new news. The service rep had no suggestions for alternative paperwork we could submit to ensure maximum reimbursement for the phones. Finally, my husband took his new phone on a business trip to the UK. He emailed me shortly after arriving and said his new AT&T phone did not work, could I help. I contacted AT&T immediately and after speaking with several people learned that my husbands phone needed a different SIM card in order for the phone to work in the UK. More new news that would have been extremely helpful to have known at time of purchase. Hard to tell if the issue is one of incompetence or deceptive practice in an effort to boost sales. I went to this branch because it was close to place i stayed as a gust..i was out of country for more than 6 month and i went there to get sim card to use my phone...the young gut (who hided his name tag, so i couldn't read his name) very rude took my phone and i gave my s.s.n and my account pw..but he was asking he need to get verification code from other memeber of family plan for security reason...the way he asked was loud with no patient... i was nice asking him how i'm gonna get the text from my brother when i have no phone...and he almost was shouting and told me come behind the counter and use store phone...i used but my brother didnt picked up. Real time review. Started off a one star as I asked if I could buy an iPad. They said no iPad in stock. I'm like what the heck. So I walked out. Within 15 seconds they called me back in as they had one iPad left. Now we are at 4 star. I'm doing this real time. I notice no music or sound from the tv. Typically the stores are more vibrant. The rep is very nice. And very knowledgeable. They don't an have iPad pen. This means I have to go to office max to purchase a pen. I'm hoping they have an iPad protective case. Out of stock. Been here for 10 minutes so far. I hope I'm out of here in 10 minutes. The only reason I'm leaving a 4 & not 5 star review is because of the inventory. Not because of the rep.
