The monthly bill payment routine ritual should be easy without frustration or issues as it was this time. This AT&T location staff contains able bodied, competent who are attentive with customer service from welcoming clients to promptly responding clientele questions and cellular issues. I was properly greeted upon entering as it should be in the hospitality and service industry. The associate was helpful to assist with my issue. The AT&T Pay Station or payment kiosk actually works. This location is smaller and contains minimal seating space for clients nevertheless is accessible by 1 train at 72nd Street station between West 72nd Street and 72nd Street at Upper West Side. read more

I had to buy a replacement phone charger for a friend in the hospital so I went to this AT&T store and got the cord and plug just in case they needed both. I saw my friend in the hospital the next morning and they only needed the cord replaced so I returned to this store to return the unopened plug less than 24 hours after purchase. I went into the store and let Jordy know I needed to return the unused and unopened plug. He started out by being very chatty and I was friendly but when he asked me what my plans for the day were I really didn't feel like discussing that and I asked him to please focus on my return. He asked for my ID and I gave it to him and also the credit card I made the purchase with. When he asked for the receipt I told him I misplaced it (which I had) and he immediately went from being overly friendly to being openly hostile. He told me in an outraged voice that he could not take back the plug and used a tone that made clear he thought I had stolen the plug. He was very argumentative and I was pretty shocked. I explained that the purchase would be on the card I gave him and I explained I had come in the night before and a young woman, the only female employee, had helped me. Hector also treated me like I had stolen the plug and was pretty rude in his remarks. I was pretty shocked and kept saying all the purchase could be confirmed by checking my card which was right on the counter along with my ID. Hector then asked for my CC card in a angry tone. I pointed out that it was on the counter right in front of him and he said in a very rude tone, But you didn't put it in my hand. The card was closer to Hector than to me and I had to reach across Jordy to get the card and hand it to Hector who then checked the purchases from the evening before and easily found the transaction. No one is above suspicion and refusing to give me a refund would have been appropriate if after checking my card Hector or Jordy had been unable to find a record of the transaction but once they focused on doing their jobs and checked the transaction, after initially assuming I was a thief and being accusatory and rude, it only took a moment to confirm I was telling the truth. Hector and Jody then looked embarrassed and kind of pissed off they now had confirmation I was telling the truth and were just surly and unprofessional as they reluctantly gave me the refund. Just absolutely appalling and completely unnecessary behavior on the part of Hector and Jordy. read more

I came in the store to get help for my internet speed that has been decreasing dramatically even though I still pay the same. There was 8 staff members sitting at the table and none of them greeted me or welcomed me. Lazy people... When I asked for helped, finally one came up to me with a very rude attitude. He obviously had not a lot of experience doing his job as he had no clue about the speed test that an other at&t store did on my phone to check my internet speed. And then he was pretending that I was trying to teach him his job and that he knew better than anybody. Then he just went back to the table and I asked help to a lady, who told me the same non sense with a terrible attitude. I understand they don't hire the brightest bulbs in NYC, but theres a limit on how bad you can treat customers. I'm switching to T-Mobile. read more

Make sure you ask for Andre when you come to this store! He truly went above and beyond to understand my needs and present me with all the options that I had. He explained everything thoroughly and broke it down for me to make it crystal clear what I was purchasing. Other times at cellphone stores I have walked away confused and feeling like I got persuaded by a salesperson into getting something I did not want... That was not the case here! I really appreciate the patience he had to work with me and set me up properly. The store closed at 9pm but we didn't leave until 9:20 because of Andre's patience and dedication to help me out. Sales associate tried to convince me that 'Next' plan was less expensive monthly than 2-yr contract, but clearly it wasn't. I understand that AT&T wants them to push the Next plan because it will encourage customers to upgrade their phones more often, and thus make them more money. But showing faulty math (not including the $27/month charge that Next costs, talking about the fixed, one-time costs of the phone and upgrade charge in the same way as the service charges) is not acceptable. It would be fine to discuss the benefits of Next, but what this person did was blatantly misleading. Won't be back to this location, hope other locations will let me go for the 2-year plan if I want to instead of giving me false information. read more

Just experienced the worst customer experience at this store. Spoke to a clueless account rep who is supervised by an equally clueless and rude supervisor called Voltaire. I was trying to to resolve a discrepancy in my billing and the supervisor came in and started lecturing me on how I should be storing all my old bills, since ATT's billing system doesn't seem to carry all the past records! He didn't just stop at that, he also suggested that he prefers to see a real paper bill over his own electronic records. You are better off going to any other AT&T store or better still switch carriers if you are truly looking for good customer service. Went here to do a return/exchange. Two employees working with customers (on phone with other AT&T employees) so... 4 AT&T employees helping 2 customers. One guy waiting for a customer to update software--- just waiting. A third employee straightening phone cases on the shelf... asked him to help he recommended I go to another AT&T store down the street. So I guess straightening a rack of items is more important than a customer waiting over 45 minutes. What a bummer and waste of time. The Apple store would probably help me right away, so I will likely just go there next time. And the guy just took care of a lady who just walked in (not on the list)-- said it was a quick thing... now he's helping her for 20 minutes. read more

Slow, long waits, generally shoddy. I ordered an iPad online and made the mistake of trying to pick out up at this location. (AT&T said it was in stock.) The order was completed and I got an email confirming the order and pickup location. That email also said to wait for an email telling me it was ready for pickup. Having a life, I forgot about it and waited for the email. After a week, I called the store to ask WTF. I also saw that my original confirmation email had a link to check order status. I saw that the order had been cancelled (presumably because I hadn't picked it up within three days of the email that I never received.) The store hdd one in stock and I could come in and get it. However they didn't mention that I'd have to wait 20 minutes to get someone to help me. read more

I happened to walk into this store as I was having trouble understanding my bill as I was not sure what some of these charges were coming from. Derek was very helpful and patient as I had a lot of questions pertaining to my bill and some tech issues I was having. Good to know AT&T has some good reps left as I have not had the best experience at other locations. If you are ever at this store definitely ask for Derek as he is the definition of great customer service I am surprised he's not the manager. read more

Good for AT&T that they have so many customers. And good for this store where they are always so busy and there's always a wait to get anything done. And I'm so happy for the employees there who have secured civil servant jobs from which they can not be fired. Why should AT&T spend more money to hire more people when their customers will just stand around for 15 minutes. Horrible service, I called because my iPhone that I just got brand new last week was not working and the manager tells me that the alarm is not an important feature as long as my phone is receiving calls and text that's all it matters. Had a great experience at this location. Just went in to see my options for an upgrade. Hadn't had an upgrade in quite sometime. Was helped by Rizoly. Provided excellent customer service. I'm not tech savvy and still had the iPhone 6 so she took the time to go over all my options and thoroughly. She helped me back up my phone since one of my worries was loosing all the things on my phone. As we waited for that she introduced me to her manager Kevaughn. He also provided amazing customer service skills. Together they explained my options of ditching my very expensive cable bill for Direct TV Now. I tried this in the past and couldn't get it to work. They took the time to find out what I was doing wrong. Then they hooked it up to their TV to show me how it all works. It's been bothering me a lot lately how much I pay for cable. I didn't really plan on getting a new phone or anything, just wanted to know my options, but their customer service was just really above and beyond! I had an appointment at 6:30pm at this store. I came few minutes before time. One person took my name and said there was 2 people ahead of me, so I asked why if I had an appointment at certain time, can't I be talked to at that time; what's the point of making an appointment. I waited until 6:50pm before I was called. It was ridicules. Also since I was not happy with my plan with AT&T I wanted to convert my phone from AT&T Next to GoPhone which is cheaper than the plan I had, and give me an option to move to different cell phone provider faster if I decide to do so. One associate try very hard to convince me to stay with AT&T Next not listening that I don't want to. Next thing is that before I came to the store I actually contact AT&T via Live Chat to ask some questions. After my conversation with a customer representative I printed out the transcript of my chat. When I went to the store and explained what I want and what I was assured I'm able to do, I was told that the other person I talked to didn't know what she was talking about and I was lied to. I've been in this location a lot this past month as I recently upgraded my phone, hated it, needed to return it, etc. Anyway, I had a whole emergency one Sunday afternoon after 5 pm and needed to come in to the store. I called beforehand and explained my issue to the manager and he told me to pop in. When I tell you it was an emergency, it was a 911! When I got there, I was helped right away. They were closing at 6 but something had gone wrong with my order and their iPads. They stayed I'd say 15 minutes past 6 to get everything sorted out for me. I was super apologetic and they were really cool about it. Leon is great, very personable and super accomadating. I also dealt with Dayne who helped upgrade me and he was thorough in explaining everything and giving me all the paperwork I needed. Luke checked me out on another one of my visits and was great as well. Like I said, I've been in here quite a few times. Everyone I've interacted with has been very friendly and professional. This is not the closest AT&T corporate store to me but I continue to come in because of their customer service. read more
