If I could give 0 stars I would. Incredible how incompetent and lazy workers are these days. I went in here with problems with my cell phone service. No one could help me and no one really seemed to care because I wasn't a new sale. I was an existing customer. They referred me to use a friends phone to call customer support since mine was inactive. You're kidding right? My phone doesn't work and it was in the middle of the work day. They let me use the store land line, I was on hold for an hour and then the operator hung up. By this time it was closing, so no one could help me and I went home for yet another day without cell service. I should just switch to visible or one of the Mvno cell operators since I can't get help in a store! Unbelievable, will not be returning here and will be leaving att soon. read more

Staff was super clutch for an international friend visiting - I was scared they'd be super annoying for someone just looking for a temporary sim card vs looking for a full contract, but they were able to hook us up with the Sim Card opening as well as options for a temporary data plan. Because it was a holiday, I checked the store hours online, which said the store was open until 6 PM. Just to be safe, I called ahead and spoke with someone at the store. They told me that if I arrived before closing, they would help me. I immediately took an Uber and arrived before the posted closing time (5pm) only to find the doors already locked. One of the rudest employees I've ever met stood behind the glass and repeatedly said, "We're closed. We're closed. We're closed," with a snarky attitude and look on her face. I explained that I had just spoken to someone on the phone who told me to come, but she ignored me, repeated "we're closed" again, and walked away. She could clearly hear me and did not address my issue or concern at all. When other employees came out, one admitted he was standing next to the person who had taken my call. I asked why they would tell me to come if they weren't going to help. Instead of answering, he rudely repeated, "We closed at five." I pointed out that this made no sense, since they told me on the phone to come in. His response was to take an aggressive stance and say I was not allowed in the store anymore and would be refused service if I returned on Monday. I have no idea if he has that authority or not but will be following up to find out. This was an extreme overreaction. My frustration was reasonableand the whole situation could have been avoided by simply telling me to come back tomorrow or by handling the situation with basic professionalism and empathy. I will be speaking to a store manager because this was beyond unprofessional and outright rude. The manager should know how the employees treat customers. I'm a business owner and I would never tolerate this if I found out. How you treat customers matters as much as what you can do for them. I had planned to purchase high-level business internet and eventually upgrade to fiber, but now I'll not only be moving my business services to Verizon, I'll also be canceling my personal AT&T service at my apartment. This keeps all your points but trims repetition, strengthens flow, and emphasizes the contrast between your reasonable expectations and their unprofessional behavior. read more

This store has a great staff downtown and I honestly don't understand why they only have 2 stars. That's the total opposite of my experience. Kei was the associate that helped me out and made everything seamless and painless in trading in my old iPhone 11 Pro Max and upgrading me into a 15 pro max. He also took the time to explain the different features between the phones to better help me decide what phone to pick since it has been so long between me upgrading. Beth (the manager) offered me her personal case for my new phone because they were out of stock of the one I wanted in store. So sweet! The rest of the staff working was also super friendly and welcoming to us during our time in the store. I will happily return to this location in the future for any future phone needs! read more

Second time I've been to this store. There was only 1 employee helping another customer. A lady and I walked in back to back and were not acknowledged or greeted. We stood around for about 20 minutes and not one word to us to at least say "hi, I'll be right with you". Very very poor customer service. ATT is a big spider web. I had the package, internet wireless phones and direct tv. What a mess I had three different bills. I was always given wrong numbers and wrong connection. One entity could do nothing with any other entity as fas as billing or customer service it was a frustrating experience. This whole experience has left me with a bad taste for ATT. And getting a real human is almost impossible. I'm a pretty patient person but, how in the hell does it take over 30 minutes for me to get out of here when I knew the exact accessory that I needed to purchase? I was in a hurry and parked illegally across the street thinking I was going to be able to run in, grab the headphones I needed, and hit the road. Boy was I wrong. Regardless of the reason for your visit here you have to wait in a line. Even though there were only two or three people in front of me they all had detailed service questions that resulted in me standing with my thumb up my ass for about 40 minutes. Maybe I'm a little more conscious of customer needs, but doesn't it make sense to have a line for customers who come in to make a quick purchase? I appreciate that they enforced COVID restrictions however I noticed many issues at this location. I had an appointment and still waited 45 minutes in line. I don't see the point of scheduling an appointment if the timeframe isn't respected by the store. Another customer in front of me was struggling with an issue. The employee just insisted he couldn't help him and kept getting mad at him instead of directing him on how to solve the problem. Even if you can't help a customer you can explain that in an empathetic way instead of "dude I already told you!" I had to walk up to the counter twice to be assisted. Each time I got one question answered and was dismissed to go figure it out. I get that customers can be frustrating but I couldn't help but notice the attitude of "that's not my freaking job" from both employees I worked with. read more

I purchased an unlocked phone while in Guam to switch back over to AT&T upon my return. Just when it looked like I wasted about $1,100 on the phone, Christian figured out how to get it working with my old stateside number. Amazing service! I needed to add a wireless plan to our corporate account. David and Glacy treated me with the utmost respect, are super personal, explained everything that was taking place. I think it was a learning experience for all of us but they were both eager to learn. I would recommend anyone coming here for their business needs. 1. To start this is the best AT&T store I've been to....anywhere. I've lived in a dozen states and even used to work for AT&T years ago. 2. They are usually well staffed. I've never waited longer than a reasonable amount of time (lots of people more time, less people no time). 3. I've dealt with 4 different sales reps over the past couple of years and none of them were afraid to say, "I don't know" if they couldn't answer a question. In the sales world that is rare to come by but it solidifies my confidence that what they DO say is true or reasonable. 4. Every once and awhile they'd mention a product or upgrade but no one was pushy to sell. For me, personally, it means I'm far more comfortable making a purchase with them in the future. 5. Every problem that I've had they fix it, they do it efficiently, and with efficacy. They just get the job done. No fluff, no extras, no incessant fake courtesy. And finally: 6. They're professional and nice, but not overly needy for approval. I've maybe written two or three reviews on here EVER. Today was a good enough experience for me to add one more and type this whole thing out. Just though someone should know since I couldn't find a corporate survey to fill out on the website (it's only a website satisfaction survey and with a company this big no one but the web team would see it). My iPhone 11 froze up and I was of course lost with out. I mean literally lost. Not from San Diego so google Maps is how I get around. I was super frazzled and frustrated at my phone! I started to walk into the store but as I did I realized I didn't have my mask on. I didn't want to walk in so I under pitched it to an employee right at the door and asked if he could hold on to it while I run to my car for a mask. It was thoughtless and unintentional of anything harmful. I was frustrated confused and thought he could look at it while I was grabbing my mask . As soon as I did he took huge offensive as IF I was trying to assault him by under pitching my phone to him. However, I got it wasn't appreciated and immediately apologized a bunch of times. The manager that was standing right there acted as if I did it maliciously and said "you can't just throw a phone at my employee, don't come back". Again, I was apologizing profusely. In that moment I really needed an act of kindness. It was obvious it wasn't meant to harm anyone and I was totally flustered. No kindness or compassion was shown so I was forced to go a couple blocks down Broadway to the t-mobile store. T-mobile people were AWESOME!!!They resolved my frozen phone in less than 60 sec and I couldn't have been more appreciative. Thank you T MOBILE for being there when I really needed it!!! Disappointed that the manager and employee at AT&T wouldn't accept a genuine apology on under tossing my phone that wasn't out of anger or malice. Here is how you disconnect an AT&T phone. When you get the operator tell them you all are moving to Bangladesh. Then they will know that there is no need to try any funny stuff. No one will be here to pay the bill. If you are so ingenious to tell them you just want to switch providers or you just want to turn it off they will try many of their fine honed strategies to dissuade you from doing so. They will send your call to various department. I think I got our local pet shop at one point. Then they will offer a better price. But if all fails they will leave you on hold forever. The truth is that they can't afford to lose you as a customer. you see, they forgot how to install a landline so you are among the last customer they will ever have. I know, they are AT&T! I couldn't believe it either. Just try to set up a landline. Really, this is just about the only thing harder than disconnecting a line with AT&T. read more

Worst customer service I've experienced in awhile. I came in to activate a new company phone and they swapped in my old SIM card and shredded my new SIM card. The old SIM turned out to be not compatible with the new phone and I returned to fix the issue. They then said they needed my company to give me authorization to get a new SIM card and fix the issue even though they had shredded my perfectly good new SIM card that came with the new phone. I initially walked into the store in the hopes of easing the process and didn't think it was possible to actually make things more difficult on me. We did a curbside pick up. When I checked in online, I made eye contact with the customer service rep. He finished up the customer he was helping. Looked up at the screen pointed to my name that was next on the screen and said something to the other employee. Two more people walked into the store and he began to help them. I came inside let him know I was parked in the loading zone (it's downtown and there's literally no parking by the courthouse). He continued to help the other person that came in after I checked in. About 10 minutes passed and I went back inside told him once again I'm parked in the loading zone waiting for my curbside. The agent requested to see my fiancé ID to process the order. I called him to come to the door from the car , the security guard came over there being rude stating he needed a mask to be at the door. I when I stated that the security guard should've offered him one he walked off to go get one and when I stated there should be some out for customers to use the security guard told us he was no longer getting us a mask and that we needed to get out the store. I told the security guard I already paid for my order and to call the police because he was being ridiculous and I just wanted to sign for my order. The customer service rep told us don't worry let's step outside and finish up the order and the security guard continued to antagonize us being an aggressor. We told him to leave us alone and just go inside because he was just going to turn into another situation. At that point he stepped outside and pulled out his baton as if he was going to strike us and told us he was doing it to protect his self. But how when you were the aggressor. Then, when we asked him for his name or the company that he works for he refused to give it to us. The customer service rep never requested the security guard's assistance at all and the guard was literally trying to bully us. We've been with ATT for 5 years and I've never felt so disrespected in my life. The security guard stated I had an attitude that's why he intervened yet I never yelled or anything at the customer service rep; I'm allowed to be frustrated with lousy customer service especially when I'm parked in the loading zone in a high police traffic area. I was treated like a criminal when I was literally the consumer. AVOID THIS STORE AT ALL COST I CONTACT ATT AND THE REP AT THE STORE REFUSED TO ANSWER THE SUPERVISORS' CALL FROM THE CALL CENTER. I wouldn't be surprised if the rep shared my address with the security guard; I'm terrified for my children's safety that security guard was looking for trouble and just wanted someone to beat on. AT&T- I use them for my business and mobile service- this means I pay them more 500 a month for various and sundry services. I've had my share of disputes over the phone with them over the last decade, but today was the first day I actually went to one of their retail outlets. I went to buy the Torch. Walked in, said I wanted the Torch, did the blah blah blah and then waited for 20 minutes or so while god only knows what went on. Eventually, the clerk was able to pull the store manager away from her task of picking something off her touch screen to get my phone. I lost my phone and decided to come into a physical store to get same day service. This location is walking distance from my condo. Before I went I decided to check my upgrade options with my ATT login. $200 for an iPhone w 2 year agreement. Not bad. I went into the ATT store and there was about a 15 minute wait. That's OK, expected it. I was assisted by this woman who had no idea what she was doing. She said a new iPhone would be $600. Her reasoning was to cancel my existing plan (surrender charge) AND make me pay for the price of a new iPhone. Are you serious? I told her my uprade options on the website said $200. She checked with her boss who confirmed it was going to cost $600. ABSURD! I left ATT immediately because I could smell a rat. On my way home I called ATT 800 customer service line, confirmed that it was $200 for the upgrade, bought the phone right then and there, received it next day. This ATT store is full of crooks who try to swindle customers. NEVER going back nor am I ever recommending this store to anyone. BUYER BEWARE. read more

Let me preface this with the fact that everyone we dealt with in the store was great but what followed has been a nightmare of an ordeal- On January 4th, 2018 I purchased a new iPhone X thru the AT&T store at 252 Broadway in San Diego. AT&T was offering a "buy one get one free" deal for an iPhone 8 which I took them up on and gave that iPhone to my wife. But she decided that she would prefer the larger iPhone 8 Plus so we returned to the AT&T store a few days later and was told that we would only have to pay a $200 upgrade fee to which we agreed. But AT&T began charging me monthly installments of $31.67 for the full price ($949.99) of the "free" iPhone 8. I contacted AT&T and explained what was happening and they said I had to take it up with the store manager which I did. I had to go back down to the store to talk with him but he promised that he would get it handled and a credit would soon appear on my account - but it never did. I contacted AT&T several more times - including the store manager, AT&T's corporate billing department and a several other departments, each time getting an assurance that it would be handled on the next billing cycle but it still has not been resolved. AT&T has now just charged me for my 10th monthly installment payment! At this point I have no faith or patience remaining in AT&T getting this resolved and have just filed a complaint with the BBB to try to get intervention and resolution... read more

EDDIE DELETED ALL OF MY CONTACTS!!! Bought a new phone on 4/13 and Eddie was unable to move my contacts over to my new phone due to my contacts being on a former work exchange. Bummer, but worst case scenario I'd have to manually input contacts into new phone. Or so I thought. When I got home I realized not only were there no contacts in my new phone but there were no contacts in my old phone!! EDDIE DELETED ALL OF MY CONTACTS!!! First thing the next morning I go to the AT&T store telling my situation (Eddie wasn't there). They suggested I go home and "sync" my phone. So I did but there were still no contacts. I lug the laptop to the AT&T store thinking maybe I was doing something wrong and they could help me. Nope. They aren't "allowed to touch a customer's computer". I can kind of understand that but EDDIE DELETED ALL OF MY CONTACTS!!! During the two hours of back and forth with the AT&T store I returned my new phone. I wasn't about to buy a product from an incompetent store. I just about died when Kathy told me there would be a $35 restocking fee. Hey Kathy, do I need to remind you, EDDIE DELETED ALL OF MY CONTACTS!!! I don't know if they took the $35 out of Eddie's paycheck but they certainly didn't take it from me. Without a solution, AT&T was at least kind enough to schedule an appointment for me at the Apple store in Fashion Valley. At the Apple Store, 2 hours 20 minutes later they were finally able to restore my contacts. On a side note, Apple doesn't have a restocking fee. All in all, I spent 5 hours on a Monday trying to fix a problem because EDDIE DELETED ALL OF MY CONTACTS!!! The AT&T store is unwilling to make any kind of amends but I'm not too surprised. This is, after all, the store that wanted to charge me a restocking fee after EDDIE DELETED ALL OF MY CONTACTS!!! read more

I hate doing this but I received very poor service here. I believe the managers name was Ernesto. I am a military veteran, trying to add a FAN discount. I showed them my DD-214 (official proof of military service an honorable discharge) and he refused it stating he needs a pay stub (does not show discharge status, and also what?!) or a "veteran" ID card (those aren't a real thing). Upon constant explaining to him what a DD-214 is and how this is what AT&T wants for proof, he refused saying that corporate wouldn't allow it because it's not a pay stub. He offered no official proof of what he was saying and even after asking him to show me in writing what they needed as proof, he refused. As a former AT&T wireless store manager, and a veteran, I am frustrated and embarrassed. It shouldn't be this hard, but they made it so. I have been an AT&T wireless customer for almost 20 years and it just makes me sad that I received such piss poor service from those who should know how to do their job. Once going back and talking to AT&T once again online, they showed me proof that indeed a DD-214 is acceptable as form of military service. I just got a new Samsung Galaxy S6 active and it is awesome. Jimmy helped me and provided excellent customer service. First he helped me by laying out the best options for a plan that would fit my usage and be comparable to what I was paying. Then he helped me pick out the phone that fits me and what I want to use it for. And to top it all off, he told me about a great promotion where I could get a Samsung Tablet FREE since I got a Galaxy s6. All it cost was $10/mo to add the device to my plan and just the tax for the regular price. So, for 82 bucks out the door, I got a new, kick-ass phone, a free tablet and I'm paying almost exactly what I was before with a crappy old phone. I definitely recommend you come to this location, since everyone there is awesome! read more

Rudy obviously has no experienced with customer service. His response ... with an aggressive tone was "Come back Im the only employee working". So we came back two hours later while still waiting 45 mins for service unlucky me gets this same unprofessional person who obviously should not be working for AT&T. So as I tried to exchange the I pencil 3rd generation for the 1st generation since it wasn't compatible with my daughters older I pad.
