I needed a new SIM card for my flip phone and this Irving location had the best Yelp! reviews of the stores in SF. There was only one associate on duty, possibly because it was Sunday, so I had to wait maybe 15 minutes until being helped. Tito, the lone associate, had to overcome many hurdles because my prepaid account was deactivated and the prepaid call center was closed. He persevered with the AI voice replacing the call center staff, and worked with texts to the back office and to his absent manager to approve my passport as a valid form of ID and to reactivate the account so that a new SIM card could be installed. After about 30 minutes all problems were resolved and my phone is now in perfect working order. Thanks again, Tito! read more

From everything we had read online, it sounded like our request was going to be complicated, if it was possible at all. We wanted to transfer an Apple Watch plan to a new phone, while keeping the phone number, but still get a new plan discount. We put off the visit for multiple days, dreading the process. But when we walked in today, Josh made the whole process so incredibly pain-free and fast, that we remain in disbelief. He was fantastic: knowledgeable, helpful, friendly. I recently went to this AT&T location with my mother . I was helped by Rick. Before even getting to the store I went on an hour drive to pick up 3 brand new IPhone 16 Pros. I called the store after I received them from Best Buy and Rick answered. Rick was so kind and receptive. I told him that I needed help setting 3 new phones and transferring all of our old data from our IPhone 6S, 7, and XR. Without hesitation, he said we could come in and he would help. When we got to AT&T store he greeted us and we sat down at a table together. Rick was patient throughout the whole process. He helped us get a better plan for our family account and transferred over all data without any issue. Rick is the type of employee that we all hope to encounter when we go to an AT&T store with an issue. I am so grateful that we had Rick to help us. I hope that he stays at this location because he is great at what he does. He also has a ton of experience which makes sense as to why he made everything effortless. I would be remiss not to mention Josh who assisted when needed but was inventorying the entire store the entire time we were there. Both gentleman were excellent. I am changing carriers and I thought I just needed someone to switch my SIM card. Silly me. There was a whole production activating the new account, saving messages, swapping the card. Josh helped me through the whole process and I am so grateful. He wouldn't let me leave until he was sure I understood how to retrieve my messages. 3 cheers for ATT on Irving street. I dont understand how this store could be a 4.8-stars store. We went there to buy an Iphone 15 pro max for our son on Sunday 9/22/24 to replace the old iphone 11. The store person by the name of Rick could not get the data transfer done for the phones at the store and asked my son to go home to do it. My son could not get it done at home either. The next morning my son went to the store and needed help again to get the data transfer done so he could use the phone asap. Again the person here told my son that it would take long to do it at the store and then my son had to leave the store for work. On the same day, after work, my son went to another ATT store at 2025 Irving Street for help to get the data transfer from his phone to the new phone. Surprisingly, it only took about an hour for the person here at this store to get the data transfer to the new phone for my son. I was wondering why the people at the ATT store at 827 Irving Street could not get a job done for the customer like those good reviews that they got on the web or was it because we were Asians so we didn't get the same service like everyone else? if this is true then I would say they were racists and would never come to this store again. I recently went to this location on Irving street with my Mom. I had just picked up 3 new IPhone 16s from another store. I called ahead of time and spoke with Rick who ensured he would be able to assist my mom and I with our new phone. When I got to the store Rick immediately made us feel at ease. We sat down and he began listening to what we needed. Rick went above and beyond to help us transfer all our new phones to a new account and get all our data transferred from our old phones. He helped us for approximately 2-3 hours and stayed patient and professional the entire time. Rick was incredible and made our transition seamless. I can't thank Rick enough for how easy he made our day. I should also mention that the poor guy had to skip lunch to help us but made no complaints at all. Please keep Rick around he is a great representative for AT&T and should have his own store. I would be remiss not to mention Josh who was working his tail off inventorying the entire store and also helping out at certain points in our transition. The battery on my iPhone 8 (5 yrs old) was not holding its charge. I went into the AT&T store on Irving, between 9th & 10th Aves. There I met Josh who was very helpful in explaining their trade-in policies & suggesting the best phone for my needs. I ended up purchasing the iPhone 14 Pro. Josh set-up the transfer of data from my old phone to my new phone while I went for an hour walk around the neighborhood. Josh provided great service & the process was smoother than I anticipated. The customer service was fantastic. I was well taken care of and the staff was very attentive! Don't let the dark storefront fool you, it is very warm and friendly inside. Thanks to a lot of extra work and effort by one of the great employees at this store Crystal Guàn, AT&T still has me as a valued customer! Recently I went to this store thinking I was going end my service with AT&T. I was angry because I had just upgraded to a new iPhone11 Pro Max I bought from the Apple store the day before and when I got home, I received what I though was an email from AT&T telling me how much my next bill was going to be....$60 more just to upgrade the phone, not the plan. I WAS PISSED !!!!! So I marched on down to this store thinking I was going to end my service but first complain LOUDLY about the increased bill. First of all Crystal was great ! She let me 'air out ' my grievances without telling me I was wrong or making any excuses for the company (which always just pisses customers off more when you do that). Instead after listening to what I had to say she looked at my email and informed me that what I received was not the bill but rather an estimate, and that they were always more expensive than the actual bills because AT&T doesn't know how much the extra taxes will be. I showed her my regular phone bill and explained to her what I was expecting to pay. She then explained to me that I was paying too much with the new phone AND that I should have gotten a $300 discount because AT&T was offering this as a special promotion for upgrading to the iPhone 11. But because I had bought the phone from the Apple store I hadn't gotten the discount. She then suggested I return the phone because I had just bought the phone the day before and then purchase the phone from their AT&T store. When I returned to their store to buy the iPhone 11 Pro Max, Crystal also showed me that I was eligible for some more small discounts and then proceeded to tell me about the new AT&T TV programs they were offering as well. She made me aware that I was paying way too much for my Internet and TV service. So instead of having to start all over and waste time shopping for a new phone service, Crystal's 'extra effort' instead kept me as a happy customer with AT&T as well as making a great sale for the store. I was really, really happy with my experience at this store and highly recommend to anyone wanting to buy or upgrade to a new phone that they checkout this store. I want to add that I am very obsessed with good customer service and I noticed that the other two employees in the store, a man and another Asian lady, seem to be just as attentive to their respective customers. I went into this store and was helped by a younger male (early 20's). I have existing prepaid service and wanted to purchase an iPhone XR outright. I was told that I would have to get a new phone number and put the device on installments on a postpaid service. I told them that I wanted to keep my phone number and just buy the phone outright. They told me this is against policy. I checked with AT&T and they told me that the people in the store were lying. All I want is a new phone and to keep my phone number. This place is ridiculous. Verizon will let me buy the phone AND keep my phone number. read more

Kris was super-helpful and really knowledgeable. She set us up with new phones and a new plan but also looked for good ways we could save money. She knew all the complicated ins-and-outs of the pricing, plans, and equipment and, probably more importantly, she was able to explain it to us in plain language. Never use AT&T, the customer service is really slow and you can't get the job done. Previously, couple of days ago I went to the AT&T store in Marina district, I thought only that store was really awful. Apparently, this Sunset store is also worse then that. Here is what happened: first I wanted to buy 4 new phones with AT&T and they didn't approve it in Marina store (even though I had a really good credit score 762). Now, in Sunset store only wanted to open family plan (without buying new phones). We ported over my current number and my current SIM card is already not operating and they didn't approve my account again. I left with unopened AT&T account and my previous SIM card is also not working. I'm writing this post with the help of my friends hotspot. They didn't even reactivate my previous SIM card.
