Unfortunately, the hard drive was not salvageable, but Nate gave me additional options for possible retrieval. I did have them install a new SSD to replace the old disc drive. Everything worked fine with new SSD. I'd recommend Mad Genius and Nate for all Apple/Mac repairs as they are friendly, knowledgeable and specialize in Macs.

Then they promised me that another fix would work, so I brought it in a second time, only to be told that they had to order the part, which would be there Saturday. I planned on coming in Saturday, but the part didn't come until Tuesday. They assured me I could come in on Friday at noon and it would be fixed in 1-2 hours. I got a call at 5:15 pm telling me it was all finished, too late for me Friday. So, I came in today, Saturday (my 6th trip to the shop) feeling assured that I had finally reached the finish line. Only to find that, in spite of the Friday evening call telling me it was all ready, that they had not fixed it at all! Very inconsiderate lack of communication. The only redeeming part of the experience is that they gave me a full refund. But, here I am at square one again with a broken computer, after 3 weeks and 6 separate trips to the shop.

I needed a new charging port and I also got the cover for the charging port. They had a reasonable price and convenient location. Their repair guy was only there part time. At first they said they had to order it. I waited a week, then the repair guy said he had the part, I came by and he said, nope it won't work. Then they said they had to order the part after all. A little confusing, but once the part came they fixed it in about 30 minutes. More recently I ended up getting my phone wet and for some reason the new charging port cover did not work as well as the original one and the phone got wet inside, but over-all I'm a happy customer.

I expected to get rushed out the door and was already expecting I'd probably be told to go to another location on the following day. He took detailed notes of my issues, he was 100% honest in telling me this is something that corporate will probably have to address, so I'd have to go to another location, he named the nearest ones. He then took time to come outside with me and show me how to plug my phone into my rather old sound system (you cannot use CarPlay with a cord) and how to make the nav system work so that it played directions over my car speakers without interfering with the blue tooth connection to my hearing aids. While there, he diagnosed a problem I was having with my laptop and showed me how to bring it back on line.. It was an operator error so no repair was needed and no charge was made. This can basically render printers permanently useless. An HP trick to get customers to buy their more expensive ink cartridges. He suggested that we return all cartridges for a full refund immediately. We had to purchase a new printer. Scott was extremely helpful, patient and kind. Never tried to sell us anything. We will definitely be doing business with him in the future should we need computer/printer issues. His advice is trustworthy and no hard-sell!!!

I returned after about 13 minutes and was then told that the phone I ordered was no longer available, but they did have the "next model up" -- conveniently with an upcharge. I was also told I'd need to call customer service myself to cancel the order. This was a complete waste of time and felt extremely dishonest. The phone was clearly available when I arrived, and it's hard not to conclude this happened because mobile pickup orders don't earn commission. We stopped in to check out their 55+ program and Avery was well informed and very respectful of our needs and concerns. She explained every detail and all of our questions were responded to in a positive manner. We had been AT&T customers for decades, but in recent times have been less than pleased with their customer service and pricing policies. We immediately saved around $250 a year by switching to the 55+ program currently being offered by T-Mobile. We took advantage of having our car set up for broadband access with t-Mobile's sync hardware. The store manager, Akash immediately set up the hardware and associated software in our car and on my iPhone. He was extremely positive and super knowledgeable, plus an all-around good chap! In addition to basic roadside assistance, one of the benefits of the sync hardware is that you immediately receive recall and service notifications about your car. One of the service notifications we received when the system went active dealt with a particular issue that we had been having with our car and had been unable to pinpoint the exact problem. Because of this feature we now have a solution! Overall, a very positive experience with the crew at this t-Mobile location. We were also fortunate to have the Portland area marketing manager present at the store when we signed up for T-Mobile service. His name is Drake and he was totally awesome!! Had a very keen and vigorous sense of humor and made our entire experience pleasurable and unique.
