Carlos and Adam went above and beyond to help me get setup with replacing my IPhone 14 Pro battery replaced after the phone indicated a 79% battery capacity which is quite annoying because the phone wouldn't even make it on an 8hr charge. I went the unconventional way and decided to try a different battery not sourced from Apple instead of having another battery issue again- and to think about it, the phone isn't even 3 years old yet. I also didn't want to waste my time and visit a busy Apple Store full of nerds and stuff. I dropped off my phone and picked it up 2hrs later. No issues. It was working as I had expected it to and the capacity went back to 100%. Of course there's the nag screen that the battery is non-OEM which I don't care about- just as long as it gives me enough charge to last more longer than it previously did. Only time will tell how this new battery will perform. Their work is also back with a 6 month guarantee in which anything happens to the phone due to battery issues, they will address it. Peace of mind. Since I wasn't able to leave my phone on the original Tuesday when I brought it in, I decided to come back Saturday so I wouldn't have to leave my phone at the store overnight. I called ahead of time to see if this store carried Li-On rechargeable batteries in AA size. The guy checked and confirmed they had them in store for $11.99. The next day went there and was completely baffled by the response. The person working here said they don't carry them. Not only this, but said they were Contraband and illegal to sell in the United States. Also said they risk Exploding because they're black market only sold on foreign and sketchy websites. What the hell man, I just wanted to light up my hula hoop, not rob a bank! He sold me what he thought would be a sufficient workaround, Energizer Lithium batteries, but of course, these did not work. He said they offer no exchange or refund once the package is opened. Update: Not getting the charging parameters from Battery Plus, I spent some time researching things, and found out the batteries I purchased from Batteries and Bulbs (Battery Plus) were made by NorthStar. I contacted NorthStar and they quickly gave me the specific charging information I needed to reset my charging systems on my boat (I have 3 systems: a Blue Seas 40 amp shore charging system for when I'm plugged into shore power at a dock, a solar panel charging system (MidNite Solar MPPT) for when I'm sailing or at anchor, and the external regulator (Wakespeed 500) for the alternator on the engine) when I'm motoring). Each system has a number of specific settings to ensure proper charging, the basics being voltage settings for Bulk, Absorb, and Float charging levels. I can certainly understand Battery Plus staff not being familiar with the various settings on these three systems of mine, or not even knowing initially what the proper charge voltage should be for "Bulk", "Absorb" and "Float" on the batteries they sell. However, the manager's repeated insistence that all I needed to do was set things to AGM, and his increasing irritation, and refusal to listen or research, when I tried to explain my charging systems are more fine tuned and there's no simple AGM setting, was inexcusable for someone working in a battery store at his level, dealing with a customer who just dropped $1400 on his batteries. His unhelpful attitude then required me to do his job for him and research who actually manufactured the batteries, and call them to get the proper information. Northstar was understanding, knowledgeable, and very helpful, as would be expected from a battery company. I would also think this basic charging information would be provided on these high end batteries with some charging instructions when purchasing the batteries, or have this information on line. BTW, per NorthStar... Bulk: 14.7 Absorb: 14.7 Float: 13.6 Perhaps the Battery Plus Training Division, should one exist, could step up, find the proper settings for these high end batteries (and there's a number of settings beyond the three I mentioned and I'd be glad to help out), work with the technical staff of the companies who manufactured these batteries, and publish this information on their web page, and also advise employees of this information. That would provide good customer service. read more

we had our iphone batteres replaced here, 80 bucks. only downside is we weren't warned apple would nag us about 3rd party batteries. but i've said this a thousand times I would rather get one of those chemistry devices for crushing rocks into fine powders to synthesize mercury and literally crush and grind my iphone into dust than pay apple to fix it even if they'd do the same for 50. loiis rossman subscriber here.. iphone was inherited and prescribed for me by my tech illiterate mother. my next phone will be a librem. This isn't the first time we've used them either. Staff was very able to chat tech too as I described running a Gentoo Linux box and how much of a pain opening a Ipod was to do and how I accidentally cut my hands doingit before realizing you needed gloves. But on previous trips they've been the only one carrying certain types of rarer batteries. IT took 2 hours. They asked for Iphone password but while mine is personal its rarely ever actually used so.. had no trouble. We come down there pretty often, So we're repeat customers. Place has a very sketch feel to it. The employees are very pushy as well. Watch the price tags VERY carefully as some are labeled per battery, NOT per package which you would assume. The small round button batteries are a total rip off costing 4 times more than places like Ace Hardware to which I should have gone to first. At Batteries Plus 1 small round battery was $4+ for a generic brand where at Ace it was $4.29 for 4 batteries and a name brand. Do your research or it'll cost you like me. **To reply to the employee who replied to my above Review: Your off-brand $4 battery lasted half the time of the name brand that cost $1.00 at Ace. Amazon and Ebay are even cheaper I just discovered. read more

I have used this location for batteries and bulbs numerous times and generally receive prompt and friendly service. The reason for the 2 stars is I recently had my iPhone battery replaced and the employee insisted I give him my password so he could verify the battery was installed correctly. Why would anyone give out their phone password to a complete stranger!? Especially a stranger that's going to have your phone for 30 minutes, out of your sight and control. This is a terrible policy! After I refused, he asked again, at this point a couple standing behind me asked him the same question....why do you need his password? He gave the same answer as before and at this point I told him to do the install and I would verify the phone worked once I picked it up, which he agreed to. Huge improvement on my phones performance once the install was completed. This review is not a ding on their ability to install a new battery...but on a horrible policy. read more

I had a very good experience s at this location. I went in for a back up battery for my internet at home. The sales rep noted that it had not been that long since I was in last. As it turns out, the batteries should last 1-5 years. This battery lasted approx 13 months. They looked my up in the system to confirm. After which, they gave me the $37 battery for no charge, something they did not have to do because it passed the one year warranty. They also gave me advice on what could be going on in my home that is causing the battery to drain prematurely. I very much appreciate their kindness and effort. Will always go back! It is nice to have a place like this around. When you need light bulbs or batteries, you walk right in, someone will immediately greet you and offer to help, and I don't think I've ever gone there looking for something there and come away empty. All that is great. What's not so great are their prices. Quite frankly, their prices suck. One would expect a company with such a narrow focus, to be able to offer products at, at least a competitive price, seeing as they are probably a huge buyer of these and can get pretty big volume discounts... but apparently not. Expect to pay about double what you would at many other places. Even their "big sales" turn out to often be more expensive than other retails. We will never trust this place again. Salesman sold us four expensive lithium "10 year" batteries a year ago. After only one year three out of four batteries died. When we took them back a new clerk (there always seems to be a new clerk--that may tell you something) refused a refund or replacement batteries. She had a new and incredible contention that when the package says it's a "10 year" battery, that means that from the date of manufacture it could sit on a shelf for 10 years--she claimed that a 10 year battery doesn't mean it will last longer than one year in its intended use, just that it has a 10-year "shelf life." That's completely contrary to what the salesman said a year ago. I'll never trust Batteries Plus Bulbs in Tualatin again. Update: in June 2014 this business paid to settle a claim under the Oregon Unlawful Trade Practices Act, the consumer protection law that protects Oregonians from such practices as misrepresentations, by paying $200 which the consumer immediately donated to Oregon Special Olympics. The consumer didn't profit at all from the bad conduct of this business but this time the business didn't profit from its conduct either. Oregon consumers who get ripped off should exercise their rights under consumer protection laws. read more

He said that the battery replacement takes 45 minutes and they close at 8pm and that this will take until at least 805pm, so to come back another time. Just the worst! Don't go here for iPhone battery replacements or screen repairs!! If I could give zero stars I would. We had them repair the screen on our daughter's iPhone and had them replace the battery while the phone was open. The screen cracked within a week after falling less than 20 inches to the ground on carpet in an Otter Box. Thinking the repair wasn't done well and not wanting to have to argue with them to get the screen replaced, we brought the phone to the Fix Hut instead, which we have used on several past occasions and with whom we have always had a great experience (didn't go here originally because we thought they were closed due to Covid). The Fix Hut replaced the screen to only have it crack again a few days later. When we brought it back they discovered that the screen was bowing outward and determined that the Ray-O-Vac battery from the first repair was defective and had expanded, putting pressure on the back of the screen and causing the crack in the second replacement screen and probably also the first. They said they don't use Ray-O-Vac batteries because they have a high rate of failure (Batteries Plus, by contrast, is the exclusive dealer in the U.S. of these batteries). Contacted Batteries Plus, explained the situation and they refused to refund the cost of the screen repair they had done or even the cost of the defective battery on the grounds that we had brought it elsewhere to get repaired. Don't go here! Go to the Fix Hut for screen repairs and batteries. They stand behind their work and go out of their way to make it right when something goes wrong - unlike Batteries Plus. The Fix Hut even deducted $50.00 off of the cost of the final screen repair and battery replacement even though they weren't the ones who installed the defective battery in the first place. If my review or whatever B.S. they might post in response to it isn't enough to dissuade you from having your phone repairs or battery replacements done here, you might want to consider that 13 of their 28 Yelp reviews are 1 or 2 stars - mostly 1 star. I don't know about you, but if almost 50% of a business' Yelp reviews are 1 or 2 stars, I look elsewhere . . . Update: I went into the store to get a copy of my receipt because I was going to submit it to Ray-O-Vac to see if I could get a refund on the battery. While I was there another customer came in to get their iPhone battery replaced. After the salesperson printed out a copy of the receipt I reiterated to him how absurd I thought it was that they were refusing to even refund the cost of the battery. I then turned to the other customer and said he might want to think twice about getting his battery replaced by them. At which point, the salesperson became extremely aggressive, started shouting at me, ordered me to leave the store, pointing his finger in my face and threatened to call the police. I can certainly understand why the salesperson wouldn't want other customers to know that the replacement batteries they sell for iPhones are junk and have a high failure rate, but seriously not okay behavior. read more

This place... just WOW. If what I experienced at the Tualatin, OR store was indicative of the tactics used in the entirety of the company, they should be shut down. I know that's harsh, and I very rarely ever write a bad review, but I need to warn people. I consider this store's tactics to be synonymous with a shady used car sales lot's tactics. I go in to hopefully find a replacement charger for my Canon camera. The clerk was checking another customer out, so I located and made my way to the section I needed. As I was standing there browsing for what I need, I overhear the clerk trying to up-sell virtually anything he could to the poor guy trying to check out. Right away, I knew I was going to have a bad time. Next red flag: The chargers I saw on the rack were seriously 4x the price of the chargers I saw online. $40 for a crappy, fake gold-painted replacement charger that looked nothing like the original. For a similar charger, $8 on Amazon. When the clerk finally turned his attention to me, I said "Please tell me you have a charger under $40 for my camera." He takes a look at my camera/battery, and asks me a few questions about it. "How long have you had this battery? How long since you charged it?" I replied that it was the original battery and that I hadn't charged it for at least 6 months. He immediately jumps to the conclusion that I MIGHT need a new battery... in addition to a $40 charger. He grabs a slightly smaller (even crappier-looking) charger with a charge display on it, and slips my battery into it, to "see if it would register". He quickly directs the display away from me and says "Nope! It's not registering. Yeah, these batteries don't last very long if you don't keep them charged." He then grabs a comparable battery off the wall, and attempts to sell me the $40 battery PLUS the $40 replacement charger. If I had been a sucker, or hadn't done my research first, I woulda left that place light $80. In shock, my mouth hanging agape, I told the clerk that I could get a charger and battery online for under $10 and walked out of the store. I went home, ordered a replacement charger and battery combo for $7.99 with free shipping on eBay. 3 days later, the charger and battery arrived. Because I was curious, I put my old Canon battery in the new charger to see if it would "register". Not only did it register, but it works JUST FINE. AVOID Batteries Plus Bulbs! Not only are they WAY overpriced for garbage products, but they will outright lie to you in order to make a sale. read more

I hadn't planned on going in anywhere (I didn't have a mask with me), it was raining, and I had the back of my car filled with groceries. I got the idea to call the Batteries Plus store across the street to see if by some chance, they could give me a jump. Well, I was in luck. Peter, a most pleasant staff member said he had cables but didn't know if there was enough staff to enable someone to leave the store but that he'd check with his manager, Matt. Went into this place for the first time after our laptop crashed and would not turn on again. We were thinking it might have been the battery but not sure. We were told they would test our laptop battery and laptop charger for free which was great to hear. I walked in and was amazed at the friendly and efficient service I was provided by Brian. He tested my battery which we determined was low so before just selling me a laptop battery over $100, he put one in to make sure that was the problem. Took iPad in to replace cracked screen. Picked it up and took it home, and discovered the new screen wasn't glued in properly and the home button was raised leaving a sharp edge. Took it back a couple weeks ago on warranty to fix both issues, but when I picked up today, button issue was not fixed. Clerk said they all go out that way and they couldn't fix that unless they used authentic Apple parts. I said "not my problem, I want it done right." After 5 minutes of arguing... he basically saying "what you want me to do about it?", I asked to talk to the manager (who happened to be standing right there). She was very gracious and asked me what I wanted them to do, and I said fix it right. She said okay, and I said I would be back in a couple weeks to pick it up. Very poor service by clerk, good response by manager. Anxious to right another review in two weeks... Positive or negative... It's up to them. As for now, no more Batteries + Bulbs for me. THEY FIXED IT RIGHT! Quality of work is now what I expected in the first place! Karey, the manager, was very polite and respectful. Very positive attitude! Horrible service!!! Had an appointment for 10 am (got there a little early) to get my iPhone 6s plus fixed, it cracked a few days earlier. First, the price was way more than the online quoted price, after some talking the agreed to honor the online price but wouldn't give me the $10 off coupon. They told me I was second in line when i got there for my phone to get fixed and that it would be a fast screen change, he said iPhone's are the easiest to replace. I went back at 12:30, my phone was still not fixed. I asked how much longer, the guy said he didn't know. I asked for a ball park time, he said ti would be done by 2pm. He said they had been very busy with clients waling in. So I asked what is the point of making a appointment if it doesn't seem to matter. He said in the fine print that no one reads it says they can stop work to help others. I said you know online it gives an estimate of 45 min to 1 hour repair time... blank stare back at me. So i said OK, well how far along are they with my phone and how much longer.... he said I don't know. So I said OK, can i have my phone back then, he said no cause they where working on it. So I asked again OK can you ballpark how much longer.. Nope I don't know. I said you know online it gives an estimate of 45 min to 1 hour repair time. At this point I'm a little more then frustrated. So I said fine I'll stand here and wait. While I was waiting another customer came in for a phone fix for a iPhone battery replacement, they gave him the run down and said the phone would be done by 2 pm (its currently around 12:30).. so in my head I'm like what?!? they have had my phone since 10 am and its still not ready. 20 min later my phone was ready.. seriously it took over 2.5 hours for a screen replacement. Better than Freddy's... I tried to take my daughters watch to Fred Meyer for a new battery. Two problems: you have to have cash and you have to pick a day when the jeweler is there, and that varies from store to store. So, I gave up and thought I'd try Batteries Plus. They'd been running ads claiming they could handle watch batteries but I had my doubts. Good surprise, they had the tool required to open my girl's watch, and the right battery in stock. The staff was attentive, and very helpful, and they were so nice. I opted for the Lifetime Replacement--or whatever they call it. It costs nearly twice as much as a single replacement but they'll replace it for free as long as she owns it. Much better than the hit-and-miss approach I'd been facing at Freddy's. read more
