I've been coming here for a couple of years to get my oil changed for my Jeep Grand Cherokee. I always receive fast & excellent service. They never try to upsell me anything and are very honest. I recently brought my car in for a tune-up and received great service. Alex inspected my truck and found the water pump leaking. He replaced it with custom parts and finished in a timely manner. Found this place on yelp through my boyfriend. I have since taken my car in twice since. The first was to replace a starter and the second was for a 90K Tune up. Each time I dropped my car for service I was able to get it back either the same day or the following. Alex the owner is really nice and ha really good communication. While my car was in service he would message us letting us know if there was additional work that needs to be done and transparent about the prices as well. When I first moved to the neighborhood in 2017, I chose ATech because it was the best-reviewed shop I could walk from/to for dropoff/pickup. I took my 2007 Honda Fit there many times-- mostly for oil changes and tire repairs/replacements-- and was always happy with the courteous, affordable and quick service. One time there was an unusual warning light, so I took it to a Honda dealer, who quoted us $1500 for replacing the ignition coils. We asked Alex for a second opinion-- he said if we bought the parts ourselves he would install them for the cost of labor. I don't recall the exact cost but the grand total between the parts and labor ended up being less than $300. We ended up getting a new car in 2020 that came with a dealership maintenance deal precluding us from using other shops, but when we hit the mileage expiration on that we're coming back! read more

Went to Alex for two visits within a week for different service. First requested a quote for service on my Accord (because of the Maintenance Minder), and Alex was very quick to respond. Upon reading other people's reviews, it seems Alex's name proceeds itself. Received the estimate, which was very reasonable, and decided to go ahead with Alex and his team. When I got there the next day, I was greeted with one of his newer staff members, who happens to a former Honda tech, so they understood what I needed. Oil change, power steering and brake fluid flush, all done within a few hours. Alex noted a couple of things to be aware of during his inspection, which prompted the second visit. The glaring issue for the second visit was for the front brake pads. I requested another estimate from Alex, and received a reasonable price for the complete change. Asked Alex if he would change the brake pads and rotors if I brought my own in, and he said he would only charge me for labor. Absolutely floored. Ordered the parts and brought them in the next day, which was again completed within a couple hours. Quality work here again. Really can't thank Alex enough. He is a straight-shooter, thorough, reasonable, honest and understanding - qualities that are hard to find these days. Definitely will recommend his shop to friends and family alike. I had originally went to the dealer (Fiat) who was charging me $800 and an appointment 2 weeks away because the pet was back-ordered , followed by another Fiat specialist who was charging upwards of $400 and a week earlier appointment. Was recommended this shop by a family friend for electrical work and they delivered! I'd previously gone for an oil change and was happy, so I was more than willing to give it a shot. The tech was super honest with me - let me know the part was only $200 and that he'd charge for 2 hours labor. I was in and out the SAME day for $380. Alex was really helpful on the phone when I first spoke to him about looking at my car over the last 2 years. My 2009 Scion wasn't running, the check engine came on and my car had to be towed to his shop a couple times. His team needed a few days but they were able to restore my car and get it back on the road each time. And they charged a really reasonable price to fix it. When I had to bring my car back in last December due to some damage from the rain and Alex was able to once again get my car running quickly at a reasonable rate. Their labor rate is lower than any shop in the area and they only charge you what you need. A week ago they took in my friend's mom's 2008 Toyota Sienna and were able to fix the issue and allow her to drive back home to San Diego. Honestly, they've been a god send to me and now a friend's mom. They're nice and let you know what to expect in terms of turn around time and cost and do their best to help you during times where you're in a tough situation with your car. My car's alternator just decided to die on me last Wednesday and I kid you not, I was incredibly worried about who to get to for a mechanic. I've heard a lot of stories of people, especially women, being taken advantage of because they don't know much about cars so I definitely had some concerns picking a mechanic. I chatted with Alex the night before and he was able to inform me of the quote for the job needed and let me know that I can get my car towed to Atech the next day. I was able to get my car in Thursday morning and Alex was so kind, took a look at my car, gave me the quote we had chatted about the night before. I felt comfortable enough to mention some other issues with the car that I had (like my bumper needed fixing and some tire pressure meters were dead) and HE TOOK CARE OF ALL OF IT. I have never felt more comfortable leaving somewhere knowing my car was in good hands. I was able to pick it up mid day Friday and not only was my alternator fixed, he replaced the drive belt, the tire pressure meters, changed my oil, and fixed my bumper. The price was reasonable and there weren't any hidden fees. I will say that I am a fan of Atech. Would highly recommend coming here for your car needs.
