Eugene Windshield Repair was able to get me in the next day, and the repair itself only took about 25 minutes. All the employees I interacted with were very kind and professional. They explained that they could go through my insurance if I wanted (since it was just a chip, I opted to pay out of pocket, a very reasonable $75), and all about the lifetime warranty. They also sent me out the door with a care package that included some clear stickers in case I ever get another chip so I can keep the dirt out, plus a coupon for a free coffee at The Human Bean! Fast forward a few years, we had a loose rubber seal on our front windshield and were concerned about potential water leaks so I gave Kevin a call to see if he could take a look. He responded immediately and we set up some time for him to take a look. Turns out, there was no leak and the fix was purely cosmetic, but he still wanted to perform a full diagnostic just to make sure there wasn't any leaks somewhere else in the car. The good news is that everything was fine and no leaks were detected, which means his windshield fixes from several years ago are still going strong! MK responded with a price point that was agreeable and we set a time and day for them to come over. This was a new experience for me because I'm used to pulling into a brick and mortar building for automotive issues. Well, MK Auto Glass is more of a portable service which probably helps keep costs down. They came to my home with everything they needed in a company van. The service tech obviously knew what he was doing. He went about his business very professionally in removing various components to access the glass, specialized tools for removing and cleaning off old sealants and debris, cleaning off the framework, wiping and applying new sealants.... This was one of those situations where they are displaying total competence and quality workmanship. The job is done and all is perfect with the new glass, including realigning the rear view mirror. The damage was hidden with black vinyl tape intentionally. After contacting previous owners they were also not aware, but was able to track records of repair done previously at Speedy Glass, through a claim filed with State Farm. This was prior to new owner taking over. There is not an option for 10 stars, if there was Charles Vickery, the General Manager, is deserving of 10 stars. He went above and beyond working with the previous owners State Farm agent. Due to ownership change and difficulties finding previous records it was a process. Charles made the decision to make sure I was treated more than fair. Without being able to determine exactly what happened he felt it was the right thing to do to make it right for me. I live in Portland, and they are in Salem. Instead of making me drive to them he set up for their tech to come to my house. He was going to cover the entire cost. Due to everyone working together I was overwhelmed with gratitude I wanted to contribute. We agreed on an amount that was a fraction of the total cost. Their tech, Tanner, showed up at my house Wednesday, August 26th and did an outstanding job. I now have a new windshield and met some extraordinary people. This was someone they could have walked away from and left me to find another company. Charles never gave me the impression this was even an option. He was there to make sure I was taken care of, went above and beyond. I was fortunate to come across Jeremy here at Caliber Auto Body in Lincoln City and he told me I'm pretty sure I can do this for a lot less. He was right it was quite a bit less and he is so easy to deal with. The entire shop is all about integrity and honesty. I really feel comfortable working with Jeremy, I wish he had a car repair shop because I would only go there. If only I had somewhere good to go to get my car repaired like Jeremy's shop that would be wonderful. Everyone who works there is so kind and understanding they make you feel right at home. You feel like you are dealing with friends and not people you have to be leery of. As a woman we all know how difficult it is to bring a car in for repair and hope that you are getting what you are paying for.
