Took myself out to a fancy dinner here during a trip to Reno back in 2013. The memory just popped up on my Facebook page, so I thought I'd share a quick review. From reading recent reviews, it looks like this restaurant is still very, very good! I remember how delicious everything was, and the wait staff were very attentive without being annoying. I had the filet and diver's scallops, along with mashed potatoes and button mushrooms. It was cooked to perfection. Along with my Lemon Drop martini, it was a memorable dinner, for sure! Eight years later, and it still rates as one of the best meals I've had. I think a Reno trip may be in my near future and I'll definitely put the Atlantis Steakhouse on my list of "go-to" restaurants again! read more

I had waited to eat here because of the cost. I was told that one should try it at least once, and when I looked at the menu I just had to go for my birthday. The service entering the restaurant is excellent, but the actual table service we received was not worthy of a place of this caliber. When you're paying as much as they're charging, I expect far more. I told the server I have a gluten allergy and she seemed tuned into it, but then recommended the Mac & cheese and brought out a special birthday dessert with a glutenous crust. They had a gluten free bread option, but the appetizer was on a big bread roll and there was a huge lack of consideration and understanding a server in a place like that should have. The food was decent, well prepared and would have been much better if the service wasn't such a let down. I don't think I'll return, although I liked the decor and the food was ok. read more

We had date night since we were out of town Don't get me wrong food and service is amazing. The steak was perfection and sides are I'm still drooling over them. The table side service with Cesar salad and dessert was very entertaining. My only complaint was due to covid it sucked that we got seated in the conference room which was their overflow wish they mentioned that during reservation and when we confirmed it took away from the experience a bit , plus we had a pretty loud group next to us so that was but annoying. Like Bimini, if I could could give this Steakhouse 6 or more stars, I would. The Atlantis is the epitome of what a Steakhouse should be. The decor, ambience, service, food, drinks, everything. Absolutely everything about this place is amazing. My wife and I came here for her Birthday a few months ago. We arrived early to our set reservation and the hostess accommodated us. We sat at the bar for about 10 minutes while they prepared our table and then we were promptly seated. My first impression was one of amazement. I immediately knew that this was hands down the fanciest place I've ever been to and thus, would probably be my most expensive dinner ever. I was right, but more on that later. Our waitress came over and introduced herself and the gentlemen that would be assisting her. She then got us our drinks and confirmed my note in the reservation of my Wife's peanut allergy. She made sure to assure us that the kitchen staff would be aware and that every precaution would be made. That was really cool. I make that note in each reservation I make but usually, they need to be reminded. Not here, they made it a priority which was highly appreciated. We started with the Maple & Ponzu Glazed Pork Belly Lollipops. My mouth started watering as I typed that. Beyond delicious. Pork Belly is quickly becoming one of my favorite meats. My wife also ordered a started salad which was, a salad. Lol. Nothing out of this world but all the ingredients were fresh. Now on the main event...the steaks! I ordered the Ribeye (bone-in as always. There's really no other way) and my Wife ordered the 8oz Mignon. Both were cooked to utter perfection. The Atlantis uses Allen Brothers of Chicago meats. Which are considered to be the finest in the nation. They're wet aged, USDA prime cuts. I requested a sauce on the side with my Ribeye, but I ended up not needing any of it. I was able to slice through it with my FORK. It was super tender, juicy, and packed with simple but amazing flavor. The roasted garlic I received with it only added to the amazing flavor profile of this steak. Our sides were the White Truffle Mac (far superior to Bimini's Mac) and the Sautéed Asparagus Spears (which we're also delicious). We followed that up with the Five Layer Chocolate Cake for desert. So which is better? Atlantis or Bimini? Honestly, that's a tough one for me. While Bimini was an amazing experience, only the Atlantis has the distinction of being a recipient of the Triple A Four Diamond Award. A mere 2.6% of our country's roughly 30,000 restaurants can claim that honor. However, as much as I loved it, I have to give the VERY slight edge to Bimini. Both steaks were amazingly delicious, but that Roasted Garlic Cabernet sauce at Bimini was so good that it made the steak THAT much better. That's just personal opinion, though. Both Steakhouses are more than worth your time and money. All told, after everything was said and done, the bill for this experience came out to just above $300. Officially, my most expensive dinner ever. It beat out Bimini and Morton's by a cool $100. There was one point in my life when I couldn't even spend $300 on groceries, let alone a single dinner. That said, this place obviously isn't cheap. It isn't even moderately expensive. It's just flat out expensive. You either have to have the kind of money where it's not an object or (like me) you'll need to save a bit. Either way, it's worth every dime. I can't wait to go back. read more

Holy mother of God. I cannot recommend this place enough. First of all, if you are vegan and you are wondering if you can eat here, the answer is YES. I ordered the vegan ratatouille and it was one of the most delicious meals I've EVER had. The ambiance is so relaxing and I felt so...fancy. I have never been to this nice of a restaurant before and it was SO worth it. While my vegan meal was relatively cheap (compared to the steak dinners), be prepared to spend a few hundred or so, especially if you are a wine lover like I am. I am already saving up my money so we can go again - it was worth EVERY penny! The service was also to die for and just felt so relaxed and satisfied. This steakhouse is so nice and elegant! We've been here twice and both times were amazing. This time we were seated in one of the nearby banquet halls due to covid social distancing restrictions. The atmosphere was somewhat similar to the dining area inside the steakhouse. I do prefer the inside the restaurant over the banquet hall. Definitely a nice appetizer to order when you have more than 2 people. I can't describe how amazing the crab cake is! The size of this crab cake is huge and literally every bite will contain a lot of crab meat. Most of the time crab cakes at restaurants are a lot of breading and not enough crab meat. HOWEVER, THIS crab cake was the exact opposite! This is a must order every time you go to this steakhouse! I got the the shrimp scampi, this is a table side dish, so a chef comes to your table and cooks it right there. It's a nice show. The shrimps are colossal! I thought at first I would still be hungry because it's only 5 shrimps with some rice pilaf but these shrimps are so big I couldn't finish 2, take into consideration I did have crab cake and pork belly pops prior as apps. My boyfriend got the T-bone steak Oscar styled that had crab meat on top. He got this last time and kept talking about it for months. It comes with a little side of mashed potatoes, a interesting shaped potato chip and some vegetable like mushrooms. The dessert, my favorite!! They have interesting desserts that makes choosing extremely difficult! I went with the banana fosters again. They cook the banana fosters table side and serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Other desserts they have are ice creams (depending on the season or time of the year the flavors may change, this is also made table side using liquid nitrogen) , cherries jubilee (I think is also table side), baked Alaska and a few others I forgot. Hot towels served before the table bread and amuse bouche was brought out. The bread basket contained an assortment of bread, all very good. Amuse bouche was foie gras butter on sourdough tonight. Rich. Yum. Foie gras appetizer was just just ok. It was served with pear. Kind of plain. I expected more. The lobster bisque was good. It had big chunks of lobster. It came in a shallow dish but it was decent portion since it was rich. I also tried the French onion soup. Good, but a tad more bland then some other places in town. The prime rib was ok... not particularly tender and was not that flavorful. It was cooked perfectly as requested. The diver scallops were slightly rubbery and not that seared on the outside. They were ok. The filet mignon was good and the mushrooms it came with made it even better. The crabcakes were huge and tasty! Wish it was more crusty though. Side order of creamed spinach was not that "creamed." It taste like spinach sautéed in cream quickly. Not bad but it could have used a little more stove time. It taste fresh though! The gratin potatoes were good! We also ordered the Steak Diane which is cooked at the table. A little table entertainment is always fun. I didn't try it but I was told it was good. We also had the rack of lamb. I didn't try it but I was told it was under seasoned. Another hot towel after the meal. The ambiance and service was excellent. This was a hard review to write because we were so very excited to try this restaurant after hearing all the wonderful reviews and awards. First, I understand it's COVID but the fact that we had a 5:30 reservation should have played into where we sat. We arrived and the dining room was practically empty. We were escorted by the hostess to a banquet room. She indicated that they had 2 dining rooms due to the limited capacity. The banquet room had horrible lighting and no music. We asked to be seated in the restaurant and we were taken to the over flow room. Which kind you every table was full (so much for social distancing). We started off with the seafood tower and for the most part it was great. The Cesar salad was phenomenal and they toss it right in front of you. However our steaks were simply ok. I ordered mine medium rare with bleu cheese which was good not great. My fiancé steak was over cooked despite him ordering it medium. The best part was the dessert. Go to Anthony chophouse at the nugget over this place. You won't be disappointed. read more

2nd visit here and was even more impressed this time around. The only "negative" or disappointing aspect of the whole night was the receptionists lack of enthusiasm when we arrived. She didn't have a smile on her face, and wasn't very pleasant, which was very alarming considering the restaurant manager was standing right next to her, with the same mannerisms. Besides the first two faces you see when you walk in, everybody and everything else was absolutely awesome. Our servers were very polite, accommodating, and even went out of their way to tell my wife happy birthday numerous times. The food was absolutely perfect. My surf & turf was an 8oz filet (literally cooked to perfection) paired with a nice sized piece of swordfish, and two very large prawns. The salmon dish my wife got was just as good. Wow, after all I heard about Atlantis Steakhouse I find myself very disappointed. Super expensive steak prices at $70+++ per plate and it was just okay. The service was good, but did not blow me away, and truly, not what I would expect from what's supposed to be an "elite" steakhouse. Not sure if they were just off, as it was a Sunday night, but seriously it's not like anything else changes on a Sunday (menu pricing) so why should the quality? Ordered a top sirloin for $49 with the Oscar preparation for an additional $24. It had one and a half sprigs of asparagus and three strands of crab meat with a drizzle of Hollandaise. Seriously? I would expect so much more from the Atlantis. Also it would be nice if they enforce some sort of dress code as people were in there in ball caps and t-shirts and flannels...come on people, its not not sports bar....Not quite the Five Star Steakhouse experience one would expect. What a shame. I can't really recommend to anyone looking for a true "steakhouse" experience...just another casino cafe style restaurant with a nice remodel and a lot of lipstick. In search of a great pre-dinner glass of wine we headed over to the steakhouse at the Atlantis. We were greeted by the bartender immediately and she asked me what I was looking for. I told her a Chardonnay and she asked me a few questions and gave me a taste of two wines. One was Frank Family and I like that wine a lot so I was skeptical that I would like the one she chose for me because I am a little picky. To say she nailed it is an understatement. The wine she picked I liked a lot more than the one I had picked. She really knows her wines and instead of imposing her tastes listens to what you want. While we were there I heard her also do that with another customer about a cocktail. When visiting the Atlantis, I would definitely go back to the bar at the steakhouse to get a cocktail because this gal knows what she is doing and made our visit super enjoyable. read more

Visited 11/29/24 First the good - The service was top tier (minus one issue), the Ahi Tartare, French Onion Soup, and cheesecake were excellent. The waygu filet, creamed corn, and coffee crusted bison filet were good, but none had a wow factor. The bad - we ordered the prime rib very rare. It was served medium and rejected without a taste. This was the one service issue. The waiter brought it to the table with the other entrees even though he said he knew it was not what we wanted. Asked for a blue steak instead and finally received a rare (not blue) filet. Unfortunately the filet was so salty that it tasted like it had been brined. It was sent back after 2 bites. Also on the bison entree the broccolini was served with a rubber band still on the stalks. The manager was sincerely apologetic and did bring us a free bottle of wine and of course they did not charge us for the two uneaten entrees. Unfortunately one person in our party never did get a satisfactory meal and the timing of our experience was thrown off. I was going to give 3 stars, but ultimately the experience was bad enough that we will not return and I wanted the rating to reflect that. read more

We had dinner there on a Friday night, I had made reservations on line for 6. They seated us promptly and our fantastic waitress, Kaytlin, came by to introduce herself and get our drink order. Drinks were amazing, appetizers, escargot and oysters, amazing, salads made table side, spinach and Caesar, amazing. Now the reason I didn't give 5 stars... my husband ordered the dry aged ribeye and I ordered the local wagyu ribeye, mine was perfect, cooked medium just the way I like it, his was shoe leather. I asked him to say something, the chef needs to know they're getting bad meat, especially for those prices. But he didn't want to, so our dog will get an $80 steak. Dessert was great I had crepes Suzette and my husband had bananas foster, we both had cappuccinos. The restaurant is wonderful and I'll definitely be back. The food and presentation at the Atlantis is one of a kind. You can tell they take pride in their services. The establishment is gorgeous, the staff is friendly. The food was great. I just have had one issue. To some this might be a big issue, but to others it may night. It's my job to write the review and it's the reviewers job to determine if this would be a problem. Originally I called in to book a reservation since I was visiting from out of town. I spoke with Jacky to see if I could book a reservation for the same day. I advised her I was celebrating a Birthday and we really wanted to try this restaurant before we left Reno. Jacky advised me The Atlantis Steakhouse was all booked for the night. I asked her if there was any possibility of getting us in. She said bo no. I said what if someone canceled then would she be able to get us in. She advised me she wouldn't know if someone canceled until probably after 9:30 pm. Mind you it was 6pm when I called in. However, I will wanted to eat there so I gave her my info. 10 minutes later. My friend decided to go into the restaurant and ask if there was an opening. Guess what she was told. She was told there was no wait and they would be happy to see us right away. Jacky was standing right there when they said there was no wait. I am not sure why Jacky advised me there was no way to get us in but I'm thankful for whoever it was that told us yes. The food is a little pricey for some items but I feel this restaurant is worth a try just be prepared to spend $60 to $100 on your meal. If you try to book a reservation and your told there is no availability. Maybe call back and speak to someone else or show up and ask if they can fit you in. read more
