I had the great privilege of experiencing Atlantis Steakhouses latest wine dinner with fabulous friends! That's a 5 star moment right there, but I digress. This was a Pahlmeyer Wine dinner so I went in with great expectations, having enjoyed more Pahlmeyer wine than a girl deserves over the years! Side note... I'd heard through the grapevine and by grapevine I mean my friends that live in "Spain" that the previous wine dinner hosted by the Atlantis was, not so good, actually scathing reviews. OOF... I trusted this was a one off and I deduced it had more to do with staff shortages/service. The kind of mistake I would venture to say could only happen once. We were seated at a wonderful table and immediately service was a 10. Greeted by all the key players, sommelier, head waiter and soon after the rep from Pahlmeyer. Friends we were seated with own a Vinyard in Sicily and there was some connections being made with wine rep and numbers were exchanged. It was a very interesting and stimulating start to what ended up being a fantastic evening. The lovely atmosphere of the Atlantis Steakhouse never disappoints. Elegant steakhouse ambiance with a rich modern flair. Dinner was scrumptious from start to finish with the typical, too much to finish but, still want to taste it all experience. My girlfriend and I decided to do a couple getaway weekend. We were celebrating our August birthday month. She made reservations at the Atlantis Steakhouse. The restaurant has a nice, modern ambience. The restaurant is located on the second floor at the Atlantis Casino Hotel. Our servers, Logan and his assistant, were very nice and attentive. We ordered Caesar salads, which were served tableside. It was a nice presentation by the chef. I ordered the Mary's chicken and my husband ordered the Seabass. Our friends ordered the Brussel sprouts, ribeye and Seabass. Everything was served to perfection. We were all delighted with our entrées. At the end of the meal, Logan surprised us with two baked Alaska desserts. We never had this dessert. It was a nice treat at the end of our meal. We enjoyed it. I have been to a few in town, Atlantis location just has this special experience for me as a first timer that I can't really pin to, but all I can say is that it's such an easy-going spot to have dinner whether it's one-on-one or with the whole family/friend gang. My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary together, my husband had the steak Diane and I had the slow roasted wagyu prime rib. Wow!!!! We were not expecting such a wonderful experience at a Casino restaurant but Atlantis Steakhouse is superb. The ambience and atmosphere are definitely something to cherish. The service was excellent and our staff went out of their way to make this a memorable dining adventure. For our starter we ordered the salad and it was delicious. Delicately cooked with sweet corn Risotto was just so good ! Steak house salad came first with sherry vinaigrette , cranberries and oranges. Nice surprise was the amuse bouche watermelon with whipped goat cheese very nice. Hubby got the t bone which he finished delightfully cooked to perfect temp. Side of asparagus ( large stalks ) and a fully loaded potato. He was in steakhouse heaven. Son got the 6oz fillet, cooked perfect med rare he was very happy and a side of lobster Mac. Very delicious with large portions of lobster. Every aspect of the dinner was carefully thought out. Like a choreographed experience of service. During this visit it was quite busy so we had a much longer dining experience than usual. The food was great, steaks cooked perfectly and sides delicious. It's always a treat to visit The Atlantis steakhouse and it was the perfect way to celebrate our anniversary dinner. We opted for more of the tableside preparations this trip that always add a bit of fun and excitement to the night. We started with a Caesar salad that was prepared fresh with grated garlic, anchovies, fresh Parmesan, and was a good size portion. Next came the steak Diane, also table side - wonderful fillets of steak cut thin, browned slightly then combined with mushrooms and a rich brown creamy gravy. My husband opted for the special - a large New York steak with asparagus and mashed potatoes. We also ordered a side of scampi that really stole the show - they were one of the largest prawns I have had and would definitely have these as a main entree next time. They had a great selection of wine and cocktails also. I started with a Cosmo and we had two glasses of the Caymus wine that complemented our meals. I've been to Atlantis steakhouse many times and I'm finally getting around to making a review. Atlanta actually deserves 4.5 stars and I would rate it that way if I could. First, the service at Atlantis is generally good, but you're going to be waiting. We ate here last Sunday and we were here for 3 hours. Now we don't mind dinner service running long, but if you have a babysitter, be forewarned. The ambiance at Atlantis is always incredible. It's moody but modern. They open the door upon your arrival and always ask what you're celebrating. Each guest is given a warm towel (scented with lemongrass?) at the beginning of dinner to freshen up with. The thing I love most about Atlantis is its consistency. You know what you're getting when you come here. This visit, we ordered the steak Diane (fantastic!), shrimp scampi, 321 below ice cream (Nutella cheesecake flavor) and the gran marnier soufflé (add 30 minutes to dinner service if you order this). Chef Tony came out and cooked them (steak and shrimp) for us table side. He is so professional and he did a great job! There was a snafu with bringing the sides on time, but Tony was professional about it and spoke to the server about the misstep. The steak Diane came out a perfect medium rare, order this if you can! The soufflé and the ice cream (get this too!) were sooooo good!! And make sure you get the complementary coffee cakes they offer at the end! For drinks we split a small bottle of Duck Horn Merlot. For food, I had the house salad and my husband had the French onion soup. Sadly, the balsamic dressing was not a real dressing, but just balsamic oil, next time I will ask for Italian. We both had the petite filet mignon and he had his with their blue cheese. This experience was unbelievable, and unexpected. With a last minute pivot for a valentines celebration, we came here since the restaurant we originally made a reservation at was closed. Needless to say we were impressed. The restaurant makes you feel like you're dining under the sea with classy and tasteful decor. Our server was Allan, who is a real pro, never missing a beat and making sure we were topped off with drinks at all times. Even helped take a couples photo for us. Upon sitting we ordered cocktails and were served an amuse-bouche which should have tipped us off to what we were in store for. It was a crostini with avocado crème and a spicy shrimp, and we wanted to order a plate of them. We also ordered a super fresh ahi tartare which was balanced with a wasabi aioli, creamy avocado and crisp cucumber served with wonton chips. We are foodies so of course we ordered a second appetizer. The pork belly lollipops were irresistible. Plated with a maple ponzu glaze, these little crispy yet melt in your mouth pieces of succulent pork were a solid choice. Paired with our entree was a crisp and delicious house salad and a savory lobster bisque with chunks of delicious lobster with a heavy cream float. Every layer of bisque from the lobster broth to the sherry could be tasted. When our entrees came we had little room for them, however every bite was an enjoyment of culinary expertise. My wife ordered the Chilean sea bass which was flaky and moist with red pepper risotto tenderly layered with complex flavors and sautéed spinach with a delectable champagne burr blanc sauce. I ordered the special of the night which was a huge Australian waygu New York strip Oscar style packed high crab, tasty bernaise and delicious asparagus coupled with a perfectly seared and tender scallop, and 2 prawns that were so perfectly cooked and flavorful. I've been coming here for years. It's always been a very pleasant experience. This last time was after a few years after my last visit, the cuisine was slightly different and the cost was nearly doubled. The servers were Logan and Nancy, and they were okay. Not like the old joker Alex who used to be our "go-to" server. These two were so serious and I felt a little rushed into my order. This place had a fun vibe, and being a customer here normally meant you'd be in for a sweet treat and wonderful ride. The bread that came out was dry and slightly stale. That used to be my favorite part. I gotta admit this last visit felt more like a used car dealership. No offense to my servers but you need to bee a little more cool when providing service here. Table spacing, presentation, when to remove silverware all felt unnatural and clumsy. We ordered a crab cake appetizer. A lot going on in there didn't taste like crab, but I think it's okay. Steak Diane is prepared in front of your table with a nice little fire show. I got the filet mignon and I added the Alaskan King crab. $110 for two short and bland legs. Seriously, that really sucked. I felt horribly ripped off. It was definitely not worth it. Some seafood places don't charge you over a hundred bucks for a full meal, and those crab legs are bursting with flavor. We also got the bourbon creamed corn and the garlic mashed potatoes. The bourbon neutralizes and cancels out the sweetness of the corn. I wasn't a fan. The garlic mashed potatoes were a very large helping, but I didn't think we needed it because the plates already came with small amounts of it. It was our friend's birthday and they did bring us a small dessert which was free but the bill still over $360, with tip making it around 420. Overall this place is still an experience. Maybe one day it will be like it use to be and perhaps will be worth it. But if you do come in, expecting what this place use to be like, you will not find what you are looking and you should be a slightly prepared to be upset. read more

Most comfortable luxurious booth of any restaurant out there! BUT... the food is a different story. Steak was way over salted. Escargot were terrible... nobody at the table was interested. The taste is all tarragon. There's no garlic. Nobody is taking bread to dip in the rest of the garlic butter. We just had them take it away. Crème brûlée tasted like tapioca pudding from summer camp. I loved everything about this place and I wanted to love it for the second time but something has changed. It's either the quality, the chef, or both. It's not that we had a high expectations. I would have preferred it just a little rarer. I also finished my asparagus but gave away my mashed potatoes. King Salmon - Nice enough to split plates, and with no extra charge. And we gave our young guest most of the whip cream. Flourless Cake - Two orders. Sorry, I was too busy watching our table side service to notice our guests finished eating their cakes, lol. Thank you for the coffee cake for our next morning's breakfast. It was pretty good and not sweet at all. Atmosphere - Beautiful decor. See pictures. A bar in the front and in the rear of the place. Not sure if the rear bar is just for employees servicing the dining area? Private (and semi private) dining available. Plenty of casino parking, even with a convention today. Open 5 days a week from 5pm to 10pm; closed on Monday and Tuesdays. Oh, you have to leave the restaurant to use the casino restrooms. Service - The waiter struggled a little here. I think he had a hard time hearing...? And he did not really know his menu. He struggled with my first glass of wine. And I even showed him the picture on his iPad for the wines I wanted. Had a reservation for 6:30 on a Sunday night. Took a while to get seated first table the waitress took us too were already sat totally fine we waited then we ordered our drinks from maybe three different servers that asked us if we had ordered our drinks non alcoholic cocktails. Yet it took a good 30 min to receive or drink and yet another server came up and told us the chef specials and the soup and salad I ordered the chef special it sounded ok a fish and filet and mashed potato's and asparagus my boyfriend ordered shrimp scampi. We got soup and salad and I got oysters. I always love oysters. These came with three sauces the vinaigrette was not to my liking but to each their own we also got a bread basket took another good 20 mins to get our soups and salads and yet another 20 for our man courses my boyfriends was made in front of us very impressive and by the assistant manager. My steak was cooked nicely the soup was good I tried my boyfriends. My salad a little bland but hey it's a salad. Didn't like the fish but I tried it. We got crème brûlée for dessert it was very good and they gave us complimentary coffee cake when we left. Probably would go to western village next time. read more

My favorite steak house in Reno. Everytime we've come here for birthdays or anniversary's we've had great experiences. Waiters are always prompt and checking in on us, don't tend to go too long without getting checked in on. Steak quality is top notch, ranged from the American wagyu to dry aged steaks. we had an excellent meal. The service was perfect. Our waiter was Joseph C. The steak, Diane is to die for. Also, the New York steak was cooked to perfection. But the best part of the dining experience was the staff and the excellent service in which they did provide. Joseph and his assistant did a great job.
