First if all the waiter we had was FANTASTIC, he was not overbearing and showed up at the most appropriate times, he just kept tabs on us psychically, amazing. I was told by my friend the special was the way to go, she wasn't wrong. The special had a filet which I asked for medium rare and it came as ordered, the veggie was green beans with a little red bell, I devoured the vegetables first because I always eat the best first. The filet which I never order was very good, I guess since I'm not a frequent orderer of dead cow, the mash was good and so was the shrimp which was accompanied with a very nice sauce. I visited Boomtown Steakhouse in Verdi, NV [2100 Boomtown Garson Rd] on Sunday, 05/10/26, around 4:30 PM. I came here during the holiday, Mother's Day, which had an influx of guests at the restaurant. The server throughout my dining experience was Tori. She was recently hired as a new server and wasn't too knowledgeable about the menu as of yet. With that being said, I desired to show patience and grace since she was still in the training stage. I proceeded to order the following items for dinner: * Oysters on the Half Shell (6) * Lobster Bisque Bowl * $29 Special - Filet Mignon & Jumbo Shrimp with Green Beans and Mashed Potatoes The entire occurrence presented as quite interesting, to say the least. I first received the oysters. It had arrived with an empty serving vessel, which was supposed to be filled with the mignonette sauce. Tori quickly fixed this mistake. The oysters met expectations in terms of freshness and quality. They were very delicious with the mignonette sauce, cocktail sauce, and lemon juice. Then, I received the Lobster Tomato Bisque. The soup was lacking in flavor and needed help in the seasoning department. I grabbed the peppercorn grinder, which was readily available at the table. Upon twisting the grinder, a lot of peppercorns fell into the soup unfortunately. I kindly requested that Tori replace the soup. A nearby table had the same situation, where an individual had a bunch of pink salt spill over the baked potato dish. Tori was also their server. I noticed that Tori pointed at me and mentioned to the party that I did the same action. When making that observation, I was quite embarrassed. I understood that Tori was trying to make the other table feel better but the finger-pointing provided a slightly unpleasant feeling to me. I finally received the Filet Mignon & Jumbo Shrimp with Green Beans and Mashed Potatoes as the entree. However, it took a total of 1.5 hours to arrive at the table. It was quite long and a little frustrating, especially since I've noticed that a couple of parties that seated after me ordered the same meal deal and their food arrived before mine. The steak and shrimp were delectable. The green beans were bland (used butter, pepper + salt) and the mashed potatoes were decent in flavor. All in all, the evening at Boomtown Steakhouse was underwhelming. From the food taking a while to come out, sitting down at a wobbly table, the soup tasting bland, and the overall hospitality from Tori, the experience left some room to be desired. At the end, I truly appreciated the complimentary chocolate mousse dessert. This offering made up slightly for everything that had transpired. I don't recommend visiting this restaurant on a holiday, including Mother's Day. When I decide to return here, it will be on a regular weekday. read more

This steakhouse is a little hidden in the back. It is close to the Baja Deli and the Gift shop. There is a wall between the Casino and the Steakhouse. It has a wonderful and quiet ambience. There were 8 of us in our party. We came to celebrate two birthdays and to try the early bird special. Our waiter, Chris, was wonderful. Thanks, Chris, for making our visit so wonderful. The early bird special is a 6 oz. Filet Mignon in a demi glace and three jumbo shrimp, mashed potatoes, and seasonal vegetables for $29 with a player's card. That is a great price. It is regularly $40.00. First, some of us started with soup. My daughter and son raved about the French onion soup. My husband and I had the Lobster bisque. The lobster had a lot of lobster in it. It was a surprise to see how much lobster was in the soup. After the soup palate cleanser, Raspberry sorbet that comes with or without Champagne. All but one had it with Champagne. The steak is seasoned well and cooked to perfection (medium rare). I savored every delectable bite. It was so tender; It could have cut it with a fork. It pairs well with mashed potatoes and the green beans that came with the meal. We all raved about our meals and said we would be back. Not to mention it was beautifully presented and styled on the plate. My sister-in-law's Halibut was superior. The flavor was divine. The size of the fillet was huge. See my photo. It was moist and tender. She said it was one of the best she had ever had. My uncle-in-law had the Shrimp linguine which he loved. He was not able to eat the huge meal. He had leftovers which he brought home. The two birthday people received a birthday cheesecake with the words Happy Birthday on it. Our party decided to get the Chocolate Toffee Mousse Cake and Tiramisu. Both were rich and decadent. The toffee mousse cake was like a fudge mousse. Definitely a go-to if you like chocolate desserts. We have eaten here a few times. 1. Food - it's a steakhouse, so get a steak. I've had the fish twice (halibut and salmon) and it's mediocre/disappointing. The steak is reasonably priced though, and you can't go wrong with a T bone or filet. For sides, creamed spinach, Mac n cheese, or potatoes. Made reservations for 7:15pm, even though they're really not necessary mid week. We've eaten a quite a few high end steakhouses all around the country, so even though this is technically fine dining, the Ribeye wasn't the best, she wasn't too fond of the salmon, but overall very fair pricing for the food selection and quality. We were greeted by 2 nice hostesses, and seated. We interacted with a LOT of the waitstaff, and they were ALL definitely 5 star. Very attentive and professional. The restaurant itself is pretty nice. Perfect lighting, nice, classy decorum, gives off a great upscale restaurant feeling. I ordered a cocktail, and a glass of isosceles cab to go with my supper. I think it was around $20 a glass, but didn't look or feel like a standard glass, volumetrically. We ordered the calamari for an appetizer. Not my favorite, and didn't even finish it, but it was ok. She ordered the beet salad. I tried it. It was REALLY good, but the beets needed to be bigger. In between courses they brought us a pallette cleanser, with sherbert and prosecco. TOTALLY unexpected, and that alone warrants 1 star itself. Like i said earlier, she wasn't too big on the salmon. I tried it and it was ok. She ate a bit and got a to-go for the rest, which the server boxed for her, another grand gesture, but the next day we only ate 1/2 of the potato and tossed the rest. My steak was cooked PERFECTLY. BUT it wasn't really seasoned, and kind of bland. The butter on it, however, was off the chain. Would've been nice to have more seasoning, but it is what it is. I took the rest home and ate it the next morning. This place definitely beats the steakhouse at Bonanza, but falls short of Anthony's chop house and Atlantis, but like i said, for the price, does the trick. OMG!!! Everything about this place is AMAZING! We came in on our 20 yr anniversary and were treated so special. We had a little place card saying happy anniversary with confetti on the table. We were also given a beautiful and very tasty dessert which also said happy anniversary! Our mail meals were both so tasty and perfect. I had the filet mignon which was melt in your mouth goodness. This steakhouse is a sleeper in the Reno area. The food was incredible. Service was great, albeit the server did admit he was wildly hungover, still did an amazing job. We did have a bottle of wine with dinner but that confession might have been off putting to some folks. Regardless, Boomtown has a gem of a steakhouse. This was our first visit to Boomtown Steakhouse and we were very pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Service was excellent by entire staff and it's decorated very nice with a peaceful atmosphere. I am sometimes concerned about eating at restaurants located in Casinos because of the cigarette smoke but the ventilation was good enough in the restaurant that I couldn't smell any smoke odor. We started with a shrimp cocktail and a Caesar salad which were both very fresh and flavorful. The complimentary bread basket which accompanied it was a nice touch. For entrees we chose the salmon and chicken Marsala. The salmon had a nice, light sauce that added to the flavor and the chicken Marsala was tender with a wonderful Marsala sauce. The pasta Alfredo that accompanied it was also very good and I like that they have a good selection of starches. The special is 6oz filet with shrimp, mashed potatoes and vegetable. I started off with a glass of Cabernet and hub got a non alcohol beer, one he has never had before and he quite enjoyed it. Food came piping hot and was really good..I personally loved the shrimp more than the steak, and hub loved the steak. Also came with a basket of hot bread. I've never experienced anything like this before. Our original server was amazing, but after appetizers he was sent home early and no one took over our table. After more than 20 minutes without service, we had to ask if anyone was taking over service for our table. Kudos to the server who jumped in and did their best to help, but by then our entrées arrived cold, clearly having sat while we were without a server. From that point on, we had to ask for everything--drink refills, condiments, steak knives, and even to have finished plates cleared. There seemed to be no management around. I would expect a manager to come to our table to address the situation but no apology, no explanation, no attempt to fix the situation. I came to enjoy dinner with family visiting from out of town and left frustrated. They serve warm bread with chunks of garlic baked in as soon as you sit down. We started with a scrumptious crab cake appetizer. My usual is fish so I tried the Halibut and my partner ordered the NY strip. Both were ever so slightly over-cooked but tasty. My side dish was garlic risotto which had great flavor but was kinda gummy. Perfect baked potato came alongside the steak. Side note, we both love beer and theirs is served ice cold. The menu had a lot to choose from, I don't eat a lot of red meat and thee was plenty for me to choose from. The macadamia crusted halibut was to die for! Our only issue was the booth we were sitting in, had a bad bench so we asked moved to a table. Everybody's food came out exactly as ordered and it was delicious. I love filet mignon and mine was done perfectly medium. It was tender and flavorful. I noticed for the first time in the menu that one of my choices is a side was fettuccine Alfredo. I asked the server if it was good and he said yes, the sauce is made. It also did not disappoint many times the desserts are disappointment, we had the crème brûlée and a peanut butter cupcake. This dish never lacks flavor it is always the same perfect seasoning and satisfaction. The restaurant provides complimentary bread and butter which is divine the bread always comes in hot and fresh. Within the previous years they have changed their traditional experience back in 2022 they would still provide you with a salad, ice cream with champagne to cleanse your palate, and then the main dish arrives. Now you have to order an appetizer to have the ice cream with champagne. Which does not make much of a difference to the traditional experience. As to the ambiance, it is nice and quiet with classical music . The restaurant also has a variety of wines: White, red, and bubbly, cocktails, beers, vodka, and tequila. Ps don't miss out on the early bird special it can save you a few books from the original price. The service has been always pleasant 10/10 the staff is welcoming and the servers come in and constantly check to let you know the process of your food or if you need extra bread. Signage for the restaurant is not posted once you enter the casino so you just have to use your navigation skills to get there which didn't pose to be a problem. The restaurant is fine dining and tastefully decorated. There are tables and booths and we were given a choice so we chose a booth, although it was quite tight. We couldn't imagine bigger/taller people squeezing in but it was ok. Our waiter was Colton. We ordered drinks and the mushroom appetizer right away. I should have asked but it would have been nice if we were told only 3 mushrooms came per order. I would have requested an extra one at an added expense. Three of us ordered the prime rib and one halibut. I had to send mine back because it was too rare but when it returned, it was perfect. We all enjoyed our meals. Colton did a quick walk-by asking if we wanted dessert. He should have just handed us menus to look at but we declined thinking maybe they're getting ready to close. It was only 7:30pm.
