Great place to dine. The chef is a culinary artist/genius. Very good experience. Even the palate cleanser. The bread... ugh. Delicious. Your food arrives looking like it came from a magazine shoot. Amazing. Just amazing. Great ambience. Not too loud. Lovely staff.

This steakhouse is a little hidden in the back. It is close to the Baja Deli and the Gift shop. There is a wall between the Casino and the Steakhouse. It has a wonderful and quiet ambience. It has always had great food for a great price. It's a little hidden but well worth the drive. Hard to believe it's been almost ten years since we last ate here. Service has always been wonderful. There were 8 of us in our party. We came to celebrate two birthdays and to try the early bird special. Our waiter, Chris, was wonderful. Thanks, Chris, for making our visit so wonderful. The early bird special is a 6 oz. Filet Mignon in a demi glace and three jumbo shrimp, mashed potatoes, and seasonal vegetables for $29 with a player's card. That is a great price. It is regularly $40.00. First, some of us started with soup. My daughter and son raved about the French onion soup. My husband and I had the Lobster bisque. The lobster had a lot of lobster in it. It was a surprise to see how much lobster was in the soup. After the soup palate cleanser, Raspberry sorbet that comes with or without Champagne. All but one had it with Champagne. The steak is seasoned well and cooked to perfection (medium rare). I savored every delectable bite. It was so tender; It could have cut it with a fork. It pairs well with mashed potatoes and the green beans that came with the meal. We all raved about our meals and said we would be back. Not to mention it was beautifully presented and styled on the plate. My sister-in-law's Halibut was superior. The flavor was divine. The size of the fillet was huge. See my photo. It was moist and tender. She said it was one of the best she had ever had. My uncle-in-law had the Shrimp linguine which he loved. He was not able to eat the huge meal. He had leftovers which he brought home. The two birthday people received a birthday cheesecake with the words Happy Birthday on it. Our party decided to get the Chocolate Toffee Mousse Cake and Tiramisu. Both were rich and decadent. The toffee mousse cake was like a fudge mousse. Definitely a go-to if you like chocolate desserts. The Tiramisu was the hands-down favorite. The Tiramisu was so beautifully plated. See the photo. Everyone had a bite and was quite full and pleased when we left. Be sure to call for reservations for parties larger than four. Needless to say, Chris is an excellent waiter. Thank you, Chris, for making our visit so lovely.

Service was some of the best I have ever had! Our waiter John was so attentive and never seemed put out by our neediness! My husband also said he made the best old fashioned he's ever had! Service 10/10 Ambiance was actually impressive! Very clean and aesthetic looking! I loved the booth we sat in very private! Ambiance 9/10 Food over all was 8.5/10 we loved everything only reason I'm not giving it a 10 is because I have had slightly better! But I would definitely eat here again!

*Late Edit* Apparently we've eaten here before a few years back from a picture of a bottle of wine I bought, so I don't know why I don't have a review from that visit, but that being said, it was obviously good enough for us to return! We used to come to Boomtown pretty often... We live in the next town over, and it's been a while so we had a night out. Made reservations for 7:15pm, even though they're really not necessary mid week. We've eaten a quite a few high end steakhouses all around the country, so even though this is technically fine dining, the Ribeye wasn't the best, she wasn't too fond of the salmon, but overall very fair pricing for the food selection and quality. We were greeted by 2 nice hostesses, and seated. We interacted with a LOT of the waitstaff, and they were ALL definitely 5 star. Very attentive and professional. The restaurant itself is pretty nice. Perfect lighting, nice, classy decorum, gives off a great upscale restaurant feeling. I ordered a cocktail, and a glass of isosceles cab to go with my supper. I think it was around $20 a glass, but didn't look or feel like a standard glass, volumetrically. We ordered the calamari for an appetizer. Not my favorite, and didn't even finish it, but it was ok. She ordered the beet salad. I tried it. It was REALLY good, but the beets needed to be bigger. In between courses they brought us a pallette cleanser, with sherbert and prosecco. TOTALLY unexpected, and that alone warrants 1 star itself. Like i said earlier, she wasn't too big on the salmon. I tried it and it was ok. She ate a bit and got a to-go for the rest, which the server boxed for her, another grand gesture, but the next day we only ate 1/2 of the potato and tossed the rest. My steak was cooked PERFECTLY. BUT it wasn't really seasoned, and kind of bland. The butter on it, however, was off the chain. Would've been nice to have more seasoning, but it is what it is. I took the rest home and ate it the next morning. This place definitely beats the steakhouse at Bonanza, but falls short of Anthony's chop house and Atlantis, but like i said, for the price, does the trick. It wasn't GREAT, but good enough to go back to next time we're at Boomtown. ***DISCLAIMER*** This pure, uncut, honest review is federally protected under Federal Law by way of Bill #EO14149. This steakhouse is a sleeper in the Reno area. The food was incredible. Service was great, albeit the server did admit he was wildly hungover, still did an amazing job. We did have a bottle of wine with dinner but that confession might have been off putting to some folks. Regardless, Boomtown has a gem of a steakhouse. Another thing to note is the steakhouse is closed off from the casino which is great to keep the smoke out!

Warm, damp towels for after dinner hand cleaning-nice touch!

This was our first visit to Boomtown Steakhouse and we were very pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Service was excellent by entire staff and it's decorated very nice with a peaceful atmosphere. I am sometimes concerned about eating at restaurants located in Casinos because of the cigarette smoke but the ventilation was good enough in the restaurant that I couldn't smell any smoke odor. We started with a shrimp cocktail and a Caesar salad which were both very fresh and flavorful. The complimentary bread basket which accompanied it was a nice touch. For entrees we chose the salmon and chicken Marsala. The salmon had a nice, light sauce that added to the flavor and the chicken Marsala was tender with a wonderful Marsala sauce. The pasta Alfredo that accompanied it was also very good and I like that they have a good selection of starches. The sherbet/champagne palette cleanser was delightful and loved the little dessert tasters of what I believe was lemon cake. Very enjoyable experience!

Tried their early bird special. Great value, great service. When you come early, it's not too busy either - was seated right away without a reservation.

Ok buddy recommend this place. It didn't start off good. The waitress who was bringing us water dumped a whole glass of water on me. We had to move tables it was everywhere my pants were soaked. Our waiter was awesome. The food was good and the service was good. Cheers

Saw a sign when checking out Boomtown that they had a 29 dollar early bird special if you have a players card...so we signed up and went. Very pretty little steakhouse with good service. The special is 6oz filet with shrimp, mashed potatoes and vegetable. I started off with a glass of Cabernet and hub got a non alcohol beer, one he has never had before and he quite enjoyed it. Food came piping hot and was really good..I personally loved the shrimp more than the steak, and hub loved the steak. Also came with a basket of hot bread. Will definitely be back..what a steal!!!

First time dining here, and we had a pretty good experience! Ambiance was okay - I didn't feel like I was in an actual steakhouse, it was fairly casual and pretty loud inside. Ordered the boomtown mixed grille, it was okay, my favorite part was the sauce they put on the meats. The filet was definitely overcooked for me and was very dry. The lamb was cooked fantastically, and that was the best meat on the plate. Palate cleansers are always yummy, which was sorbet topped with champagne. The complimentary bread was delicious, it was warm and the butter was soft. No issues with service, nothing special to note.

Stopped in for dinner because a friend recommended it to us. We ordered the dinner special, fillet and shrimp. Dinner was fabulous. Filet was cooked to Perfection with a beef glaze and the extra large shrimp scampi were buttery and creamy. Served with green beans with mini onions and mashed potatoes. I also sampled a raspberry lemon drop that was refreshing. The champagne sorbet palate cleanser was a nice touch, as were the warm towels for cleanup after the meal. Service was also attentive and polite, appearing as needed and not intrusive. An excellent experience for an excellent price of under $30. We will be back for sure!

Great experience from beginning to end. Conveniently located near the Peets Coffee entrance of the casino and the restaurant is behind closed doors to keep the smoke and noise out. They serve warm bread with chunks of garlic baked in as soon as you sit down. We started with a scrumptious crab cake appetizer. My usual is fish so I tried the Halibut and my partner ordered the NY strip. Both were ever so slightly over-cooked but tasty. My side dish was garlic risotto which had great flavor but was kinda gummy. Perfect baked potato came alongside the steak. Side note, we both love beer and theirs is served ice cold. Nice and attentive service with the best steak house prices in town should make this place an option the next time you want an upscale dinner.

Wow what a surprise! This was such an amazing meal! The ambience is very nice, very clean and. The menu had a lot to choose from, I don't eat a lot of red meat and thee was plenty for me to choose from. The macadamia crusted halibut was to die for! My husbands t-bone was a little fatty but very flavorful, and they even bring you a pallet, clean cleanser of raspberry sorbet with champagne between courses! Dessert was great too. The lemon cream cake was good but the banana foster dessert drink was absolutely incredible! Can't wait to come back!

The servers are extremely friendly and helpful. One guy noticed my New York Knicks sweater so we had a nice small convo about the upcoming NBA Finals. Compared to other steakhouse like Ruth's Chris or Morton's, you will get good value as everything is very reasonable priced. Our ribeyes were cooked perfect and seasoned well. The red wine braised mushrooms were a nice addition and I highly recommend their Cowboy Crispy Potatoes which are amazing. Their poblano sauce is great on them. This is a good place to go if you're looking for a nice steak at a fair price that won't suck your wallet dry.

This is a tale of a potato. Yes, I get it, this is a steakhouse. But, I haven't had a steak here…read moreyet. I work next-door and I've only had a couple of things to eat here on the fly. I will be posting a future review on the steak but I felt it necessary to review what I have had. The first day I ate here was the onion rings. Albeit a little pricey, they are the best onion rings you will ever have. They are awesome. Large, crispy, side of ranch or ketchup, I had both. A wow. But then last week I forgot lunch, but I didn't want steak. So I checked the menu and saw they had the fully loaded potato. If you know my reviews you know my wife is the steak eater, I usually get chicken at a steakhouse. Yeah I know. But, always my favorite part of the meal is a loaded potato. Well let me tell you, this place has the best loaded potato I've ever had in my life. And that is saying a lot. My former favorite loaded potato was at a steakhouse in California that is no longer in business. But fear not, as they have been replaced. This was the potato to beat all potatoes. Oh my God it was so good and so loaded with bacon, cheese, and green onions. It is a meal in itself, and I had a second one on Saturday. Yes, I will take the Wife there so she can get a steak and I'll review that, but I am telling you this was freaking awesome. But it doesn't end there. The wait staff is extremely nice and efficient. And to top it off they give you a cookie. And man is that cookie good. Seeing I work next-door I'll be back many times and try many of their things, probably even a steak at some point. But I'm telling you, if you love a baked potato like I do, go no further. I see people eating outdoors here all the time and they're all happy, so come and check it out. You won't be sorry. And don't forget to order that baked potato! OK part two. I took my wife there tonight. She had the ribeye and I had the ribs. The ribs were incredible. They have a really great rub and they are obviously slow roasted to perfection. Fall off the bone perfection. Comes with a little side of barbecue sauce which is really good, but truthfully I don't need it, they were so tasty on their own. I will definitely try them again down the road. But the ribeye steak. Wow wow wow. My wife got the chimichurri with it, and I am telling you this is one of the best steaks you will ever have. It is so flavorful and so soft. It is truly amazing. Although I am not a steak guy per se, this is one of the places I will definitely order a steak and enjoy it. I was truly amazed. Great service, great ambience, great experience all around.

From the moment we walked through the door, we were treated as if we were inconveniencing them by asking for a table. We were totally agreeable and ok with a table or the bar. After about 10 minutes, we were directed to the bar where there was one seat for two of us and the gal with the green shirt that was from somewhere in South Carolina promised to get us another stool. We went to where we were shown to go. Another couple at the bar mentioned someone had taken the stool that belonged where we were. We ordered two drinks, Jameson on the rocks and a Grey Goose or Tito's Lemondrop. $14 for the lemondrop that couldn't have had a shot of vodka in it. I'm not sure it had any in it because it tasted like lemon juice and Cointreau. The single shot of Jameson on the rocks was $12.25. There were 3 local guys who appeared to be finishing up on the other side of the couple next to us that were standing and leaning on empty stools. I asked them if we could have one of the stools and one of the guys jokingly told me not to yell at him. We laughed and he said he was leaving anyway, but the bartender told him not to give us the stool. The bartender brought us our drinks and we patiently waited for a stool, but decided if we finished our drinks and hadn't received menus or a stool that we'd find a different spot. The food smelled good and the few people eating seemed to be enjoying it. After a bit longer we were asked if we wanted to move to a table when one came open. We should have said yes, but we were trying to be easy and agreeable as they seemed overwhelmed, even though there were two empty dirty tables and the three spots at the bar where the local guys were bullshitting and leaning on the back of the empty stools, so we said we would stay at the bar. We still had not been offered menus or the 2nd stool we were told was coming. After another short while, a couple at the end of the bar left and the bartender asked us if we wanted to move into those spots. We moved and ordered another Jameson on the rocks. We found a menu that another patron had left and decided we would order if asked before we finished our cocktails. The bartender gave us the 2nd Jameson on the rocks, but never asked us if we wanted to order even though she knew we came for dinner. We finished our drinks and asked the lady in the green shirt with South Carolina on it if we could have our bill because we had already been there more than 50 minutes while feeling like we may have never been asked what we wanted to eat. We finally got our bill of $38.50 for a terrible lemondrop and two shots of Jameson on the rocks. We left hangry and irritated that we never got to taste the food we were smelling. I've heard good things and had a nice Mother's Day there last year, but I won't go back unless I'm with a recognized local as they seemed to be the only patrons receiving food. Obviously, by the length of this review, that I'm very disappointed and hope the staff will take into account how they made good paying patrons feel. I wouldn't recommend wasting your time. If management cares enough to check the receipts, we were there 4/17/26 and left between 6:30 and 7pm.

The reason that I didn't give it a five star is because it was extremely pricey four dollars for a drink and $15 for a breakfast like this is quite high. If you're hungry and headed out of town, this is a place to stop or there's a couple other ones over by Boomtown Casino.

All staff working Thursday evening were very attentive and brought back more Medium well/well cooked meats for my daughter which I appreciated. She's picky as it is. All kids ate very well and glad they ate more protein than carbs. I was glad hubby wanted to have his birthday dinner here. I was in picanha and perfectly cooked sirloin heaven. I stayed away from the bar and only ate the grilled meats. Christine brought us garlic mashed potatoes, polenta and the plantains. Our kids didn't even want to touch the bread, but they managed to save room for dessert. No shock there, but I told them they're missing out. I was bummed the kids shared with me on the way home that they found a long dark hair in their garlic mashed potato plate and that's why they didn't eat it. This had been the only mishap here. Overall, it was still a nice birthday dinner celebration. Thanks to everyone serving us meats and to Christine; You were all great.

Rowan a lovely server came right away and got our drinks started. She was so darn friendly and at all overwhelmed by the business. Our food came fairly quickly, I had the chicken fried chicken and hubby ordered a steak salad. This was our first visit and as with most chain restaurants we didnt have super high expectations. Although I must say, gravy was divine, chicken cooked thoroughly and melted in your mouth. I picked mashed potatoes and green beans as my sides. Each was uniquely flavorful. Richards steak was supreme as well!!! The little touches went well noticed like the creamed butter with honey and cinnamon for warmed soft rolls. All in all, best customer service, hats off to the cooks and obviously management for making our experience one of a kind. Thank you for making good with "love" WELL DONE

The man has his service game completely dialed in, and not just for us, but for everyone he introduced himself to and served along the bar. He had us smiling the whole time with his smooth, on-point style. That's really the theme every time we sit at the bar here: the staff we interact with never look like they're having a bad day. They're always ready and willing to have a good time, and it makes the whole experience better. Food was solid too, the mushroom chicken sandwich hit the mark, and so did the burger. Great work hiring people with this kind of energy and attitude, it makes a real difference.

We came in for Saturday Brunch around 10am, early, I know, however we were greeted and given a table right away. The restaurant wasn't busy for a Saturday, we did receive really attentive and thoughtful service from our server, Kylie. While they still had their Holiday drink specials menu, the server did confirm they have 2 for 1 mimosas and $6 bloody marys. The special was a Prime Rib breakfast burrito which both of the people I came in with ordered while I ordered the breakfast BLT. The Prime Rib burrito was so tender and juicy with a fried egg in the middle, definitely a special item for sure. I had the BLT on an everything bagel with a side of fruit and it hit the spot of a lighter, less hearty breakfast. For good service and cheap drinks, I will definitely be back!

Hey there Party People…read more In Reno doing the Gambling thing as well as the SPA. Decided to branch out and try a locals favorite the Bighorn Tavern. The atmosphere is everything you would want from a local bar joint. Pool table, Dart boards nice outside patio with heaters. Appetizers were Onions Rings and Cheesy Garlic Bread. The Onion Rings were tempura style fresh made in house...no frozen bag crap here. For my husband they were a hair on the doughy side but they weren't greasy at all which a totally appreciate. The Garlic bread was tasty having a hard Toasted cheese top with the gooey cheese underneath and the flavor was spot on. I'm a dark beer drinker so I went for the MOOSE DROOL if you had to many the moose wouldn't be the only thing drooling . You can't go to a tavern and not try one of the drafts...that would just be wrong. Hubby had the Prime Rib sandwich thought it was tasty with the chimiruri sauce and provolone cheese. I had the Meatloaf melt. It was the bomb. Tons of grilled onions a total mess to eat but so worth it...just make sure to ask for extra napkins. It's a place worth driving to...hang with the locals and have a pint. Be kind to one another

This is such a cozy and unique restaurant. Everything we ordered was something I had never tried before. We started with cocktails. They have a big variety of margaritas, beer, and other signature drinks. For our appetizers we ordered the blue corn bread which is served on a mini cast iron skillet. This corn bread is sweet, but also has some spicy chili flavor. We shared the fish ceviche with tuna. It was so fresh and the flavors were out of this world. Tangy, sour, a little spicy. For my main I went with the special for that weekend which was the Sea Bass. So flaky and buttery. It was served on top of a kind of fried rice. Overall great experience here. I would prepare for a 2hr experience so that you can enjoy all meals equally!

The numerous booths were cute, but really too small for four people. there were quite a few larger tables for eight or 10 people. Four four , It's a lot of cozy togetherness, which is probably fine for a family, but not for other circumstances. The halibut entrée was very good. The short ribs were kind of average. The other two guests were mixed in their review of the entrées as well. Our our server was super nice , attentive and knowledgeable - while he was with us - but would disappear for long periods of time such that we had to get up to get their attention several times to get additional items. The restaurant was not particularly crowded, but there was something going on at another nearby table - perhaps a VIP, family friends or owner (?) that attracted a gathering of several servers for long periods of time, so it was hard to get our servers attention. I'd be surprised if that was a common scenario, but it happened while we were there. Ambient noise was fine . Prices were on the higher side for my expectation, but the presentation was very nice. It was pretty good, would probably do 3 1/2 stars if I could, but it definitely isn't equal to the various four stars I've rated locally.
