We had a great experience so far! Hector and Enrique came and packed all of our things in about half a day. This will be our 5th cross country move and I'd say it was our best packing experience yet. Everything was packed efficiently but carefully, even individual heels were wrapped so they don't get damaged. Lamps got their own special boxes, as did mirrors. Both gentlemen were polite and cheerful, truly a pleasure to have over. I feel very confident all our things will arrive at our new home unscathed. read more

Got a bunch of quotes and then remembered that I'd known Atlas for quite a while and so decided on getting one more. Long story short...Ashley was awesome to deal with and Juan was probably one of the best drivers I've ever worked with. Most of the other quotes were done with me describing what we were moving, in this case Ashley came to our house and was very thorough with what was going, not going, etc. The result was a super smooth move from CA to Idaho, and a very happy customer. I purposely waited to write my review until all our things came out of our storage here in GA. I wanted to see how many things may have broken moving from our home in Buena Park, CA on August 14, 2024 to Alpharetta, GA. I AM SO PLEASED TO SAY ONLY 1 cheap bowl. Trevor Smith was our representative who came to our home to look over what we would be moving, giving us our quote and really walked us through the process. He was fabulous!! Always available to talk to me when I had questions about how to pack our boxes and even came back out because I thought I had way more boxes then he had quoted us. He was pleasant, friendly and extremely knowledgeable on the process and what we needed to know. The day of our move, Allied arrived. Our driver, Jason Sterling, came before the moving team to apply sticky tags on every single item to be loaded into his truck along with inputting everything into his computer. We loved Jason as well. He was kind, efficient, knowledgeable giving us complete assurance he'd be with his truck the entire drive to Alpharetta. Yes, there would be other people's belongings with ours but each persons items would have walls to not be mixed up. We packed pretty much everything ourselves; however, there were a few cabinets with glass inlay, as well as other precious items needing to be wrapped professionally which Jason did perfectly (nothing broke!!). Such a blessing to us. The "dream team" (aka the moving team) arrived. Apparently, this team is the BEST in the business and I can vouch for them. They were!! Watching them work was so fascinating as they fit all our things into the truck like a Tetris game. Awesome!! They unassembled things and made sure to either tape it to the piece of furniture/item and/or put in a box marked "parts". It were definitely impressed and they worked a full day and very hard for us. We did buy them lunch and of course gave them all a tip. Dinner hour the truck was loaded and off on the journey to GA. We drove and Jason gave us an estimate of when he would arrive at our storage unit. He actually was a day earlier than scheduled so good thing we didn't stay at any one destination but one night as we were pulling our trailer to GA. He gave us his phone number in case anything came up. As for the Trevor's assistant Traci, she too was friendly, helpful, kind and knowledgeable with the process. Always willing to answer any questions we had with what we should do regarding payment, moving, packing and if she didn't know, she'd leave a message for Trevor to call us. Now on the GA end and the crew helping to unload our belongings into our storage unit, we weren't as pleased with them. I really wanted to direct them to make sure fragile things stayed together and nothing was placed on top of fragile boxes, but I felt like they had such an attitude towards any suggestions so I just watched. Thankfully once again nothing was broken. All-in-all, we were extremely pleased with using Allied. Just fyi, I did get a price quote from Northern and they were $2,000+ more than Allied. I believe they may have offered a few more services or something but we had already paid a lot of money for moving boxes, paper, etcetera and really didn't want to spend an extra $2000+. WOW! Our experience with Allied has been incredible. We received white glove treatment from our initial contact with Alex Hunter, and Wendy Davidson (both of whom patiently answered all my questions) to our pack and load (all round incredible) lead, Hector Ortiz. Our home was packed with such care and professionalism. The entire team, Enrique, Ronaldo, and Mark, with Hector worked together like a finely choreographed dance - strong and seemingly effortless . Our carpet was covered to protect it from traffic, sticky mats were left at the doors to remove dirt from shoes - so many value adds!! It took an entire day, with everything meticulously recorded for customs compliance. We just had our household goods moved by Atlas Transfer and Storage in Poway; they are affiliated with Allied Van Lines. I selected Atlas largely because of a very favorable experience I had a couple of years ago when I needed to get a rented minivan weighed to assure it was not overweight moving boxes of books (our nemesis). I went to Atlas on a Sunday; they were closed, but the owner opened up for me and let me use the scale, gave me a weight ticket, and was very friendly. I've since heard only good things about this business. Stefan was our estimator; he came out for a second look after we got a markedly different estimate from another mover. Our experience with the actual move (so far we've just done the loading process) was extremely satisfactory. Hector and his crew were courteous, careful, efficient, and responsive to any questions or requests we made. Hector was flexible about scheduling the unloading. The weight of our goods exceeded the estimate. That didn't surprise me because...well, lots of heavy books and papers. The overage charge was reasonable. This was my first time using a moving company. Atlas came highly recommended by a family member but I was still very nervous. We were only moving 30 minutes away, so they were able to do our move in 1 day. Everything went better than I could have imagined. I received an in person quote from an Atlas Transfer & Storage representative named Nick. He sent me a binding estimate that was unsigned by email. I replied to him with my signature on the document. I was ready to choose this company but he refused to sign the binding estimate, which is standard practice, and it is not valid/enforceable if unsigned. He just left the signature line for the mover blank. All of the other companies I have obtained quotes from have sent me signed binding estimates. He said that he had "no way of signing it" and if it's my "deciding factor" to "go with another company." He also claimed that he has "been doing this for 7 years and (has) never signed a quote." Huge red flag and I'm considering submitting complaints to the BBB and the FMCSA. read more

We contracted Allied/Atlas to move our home goods and furniture from San Diego to Folsom. The move had an additional request as we needed half of our furniture to be put into storage and the rest of it shipped to our temporary place while we wait for our new home to be built. The team pf Tyler, Marcus, Joey, and Ernie showed the utmost care and respect for our home and goods. They moved heavy furniture from the second story of our home and took the necessary precautions to ensure that no damage was inflicted on the home or to any of our goods/furniture. My wife and I were so impressed with how organized they were with inventory and monitoring what items were going to storage and what was to be delivered to our temporary place. When Tyler and Ernie delivered our goods to our temporary place, nothing was missing or damaged. The bottom line is it is worth paying professional movers when you need to relocate. Best decision we made was to higher movers for our out of state move! Allied/Atlas transfer and storage was great from the Beginning starting with Nick, he answered all our questions and helped with packing suggestions. I entered into an agreement with Atlas Transfer & Storage Co. that stated they would come to my home, pack up most of my belongings in preparation for an out-of-state move, and store those belongings in their warehouse until I purchased a new home and was ready to ship my things there. John is the salesperson who came to my condo to estimate how much this project would cost me. The estimate I signed covered the packing and transport of my things to Atlas' warehouse for storage. The amount on this estimate was $6,570.66. When the packing team came to my condo to begin the work the packing team lead was visibly frustrated and told me this wasn't the job he was expecting to walk into. The lead went back to the truck and called John. The lead then told me that John admitted that he had made a mistake and provided me with incomplete paperwork and a partial estimate. I also spoke to John on the phone that morning and he said the same thing to me, that he had provided me with a partial estimate. Over the next few days, I asked John multiple times for an updated estimate but never received one. My final invoice was for $10,821. The original price quote was intended to help me choose a mover within my budget. $6,570 was a reasonable cost for me, so I chose Atlas. However, I am not comfortable with the final charge for $10,821. No matter how many times I reached out to John to ask if there was something we could do about such a large increase in cost, and no matter how reasonable I was, he would not respond. He still has not provided an explanation of the dramatic increase in cost. Because I feel I've been taken advantage of by John and Atlas, I've now had my belongings moved to a storage unit rented for this purpose and incurred additional costs. Additionally, one of my antique, handmade tabes was broken in transit from Atlas' warehouse to my storage unit. The moving team lead that day acknowledged this when he removed the table from the moving truck; he also noted it in the moving paperwork. When I tried to file a claim for my broken table, I was informed that because the damage did not surpass the $500 deductible, Atlas would not reimburse me. When I asked about the deductible, which I did not have the option to choose when I signed the second set of moving forms, I was informed that $500 is Atlas' default threshold for local moves. I did not have the option to choose the $0 or $250 deductible. I've asked my project coordinator two separate times for the name and contact info for Atlas' arbitration provider. I have not received that information. I also asked John and the project coordinator to have the business owner, Linda, reach out to me at her earliest convenience so that I could discuss this with her, but neither of them acknowledged my request and I have not heard from Linda. read more

No problems with the staff that actually packs/moves you. They are good. It's the back office estimators and other staff that bait and switch you. Telling you you're getting a slight refund and then they come back with "additional charges" a few days later and just charge it to your credit card. Not to mention the estimate included things they didn't perform, but we were charged anyway. So, I'm disputing it with Mastercard. Same old bait and switch tactics that gives this industry a bad reputation. Sorry to say. Altas lives up to the reputation. read more

Selecting an interstate moving company has become a bit of a mine field these days. There's so many companies, or brokers, competing for your move business, and the reviews can be really scary! That's why we're so happy we went with Atlas Van Lines. They were professional from start to finish. Nick was our Point man/ manager. He personally came out and surveyed our property, and informed us of the process we'd be looking at. During the month or so we were packing and getting ready, if we had any questions or concerns, he was available. Karen in the office took care of all the scheduling, which we had to change a couple of times. She was awesome! Hector Ortiz was our supervisor for pickup of our things, and we're so glad we got him! He was super helpful and just awesome. The crew was great as well - Enrique, Angel, Juan, Benito, and Chris. They we're careful and worked like clockwork. It was a very stressful time for us, and they performed magnificently! On the other end when we got our things delivered, Eddie Tenorio was our driver. We moved half our house from California to New York in May and did a lot of research on moving companies. Traci McCormick, our relocation consultant, was the only person we talked to who gave us concrete answers to the MANY questions we had and was able get things set up so they worked like clockwork. Our driver, Dolono, and his crew did a great job unloading all our stuff to the right locations in the house and getting some of the furniture put back together, like the bed. OK well I had previously given this place 5 stars because I thought the did a great job and deserved it. However I have since discovered that a bookcase was damaged at some point during the move and a fix was attempted (badly) in order to cover it up and I was not told that it had been damaged. Below are pictures showing the wood screws that were used to "fix" the bookcase. I have now nicknamed it Frankenstein . Joking aside... I am disappointed in the lack of honesty shown by trying to fix it and not being forthcoming with an explanation of what happened. And Since I trusted this company with my goods , honesty plays a big part in how I now feel about how my move went. Other than that it was a good experience. And maybe downgrading them to 3 stars is a little harsh , But I woke this morning thinking about it so it must be really bugging me. read more

Ward Moving and Storage) started the process with excellence and clarity. This crew made it happen. Great care was taken with all my possessions; they went the extra mile to make sure everything was safe. Josh set up very clear communication throughout the process. What could have been obstacles were simply treated as challenges to be addressed and overcome. His arrival in Goleta, CA and his planning of the process of moving in was excellent. I had hoped to post this earlier but when you move cross country at the age of 80, your response rate is a bit slower.
