Worst. Move. Of. My. Life. It started with one of the movers dropping the truck ramp on his leg, ripping all of the flesh off of his shin and exposing his shin bone! Honestly, it got worse from there. The two movers were very slow and you pay by the hour. I started loading and unloading stuff myself. I even unwrapped and moved furniture myself (ending up cracking my Apple Watch screen in the process). They movers left behind a ton of stuff at my old place. It has taken me at least 15 trips in my Honda Civic to get it all. They took my desk but left behind my desk chair, so I had to beast that myself. They left behind my big, heavy bike rack and I had to move it in my car, cracking the center console in the process (the car is brand new). I've called multiple times to try and get some money back but I paid in cash. They got my money so I'm SOL. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM! Very shady practices, too. They are definitely not insured. I feel so bad for the guy who ended up in the ER. He will definitely be covering that himself (the other movers confirmed this). They didn't have me sign any paperwork beforehand. They didn't check the time or anything. Just a Docusign at the end. They should call themselves D- Movers. It's way more accurate. I was lied to about my 175 plus year old marble statue. They where to crate and put into front seat of cab. They put it in a box in the back of the truck. Shattered !!!!! This was by far the worst moving experience I have ever had. We will never ever trust a moving company again. Our original moving window was from 12 PM to 3 PM, and we paid a $100 deposit specifically to secure that time slot. A few hours before, we received a call saying the movers would be late and would arrive around 4 PM -5PM. That then changed to 6 PM, and they ultimately did not show up until 9 PM!!!! What made the situation even more frustrating was the complete lack of communication. We were never proactively updated and had to call the company ourselves every SINGLE time to find out where the movers were. We spent the entire day waiting around for them to arrive. When the movers finally showed up at 9 PM, there were only two men and they were already exhausted from the move they had completed earlier that day. Because of this, my friend and I ended up helping pack, carry, and move many of our own belongings just to get the job done. WHAT IS THE POINT OF HIRING MOVERS?!! By the time we finished, it was nearly 2 AM and everyone was physically exhausted and mentally drained. We were lost for words and shaking out of pain running up and down hallways and elevators. To make matters worse, the company attempted to overcharge us despite the fact that we did all of the moving ourselves. When we tried to discuss the pricing and negotiate something more reasonable, the manager was incredibly rude and unprofessional over the phone. At one point, while I was speaking with him using one of the employee's phones, he didn't realized I had the phone in my hand and texted "I shouldn't have picked up because they are complaining," apparently not realizing I see the text. On top of all of this, our stuff was damaged during the move, and one of our computer monitors was broken badly enough that we had to throw it away. What moving company schedules a customer for 12 PM to 3 PM and doesn't arrive until 9 PM without proper communication or updates? I was beyond disappointed with my recent moving experience with this company. I had called around looking for quotes to pack and move my 3 bedroom apartment. I specifically told him that we wanted the entire place packed and moved and asked how much it would be and roughly how many hours. He quoted me 3-5 hours at $220 per hour. I thought that sounded pretty fast but I figured maybe they send a bunch of guys and get it done fast. He asked zero questions about how much stuff we had to pack/etc or any other questions. Based on that quote we booked the service. When they arrived the guys said they were told they were moving a one bedroom and only 3 men showed up. They started the work and hours passed and more hours passed and before we knew it we were over 13 hours in and they still were not finished. I asked them to go ahead and end it early and we would finish putting the things in their places. They charged me over $3,000 for this after I was quoted a max of $1100. I paid it and called the manager who was at a wedding when he answered. I told him that I was extremely unhappy with the poor communication and for the insanely underquoted price. I had just had a baby 5 weeks earlier and was in no place to pay $3000 when I was quoted thousands less. Had I known that from the beginning I would have made different decisions for my family. I am a senior with several bone diseases in my hands and spine. I could barely walk at the end of the day, due to all the moving. One of the movers who was wearing a "Scarface" T-shirt, told me the food he packed needed to go in the refrigerator at the new place. I asked him if he would do that because they had placed six boxes in front of the refrigerator. I was tired and unable to physically do it. I thought he did it. Later, I found the food still in the box, and all the food had gone bad. I had to throw out all the food. I called the office and asked to speak with a supervisor. I was told that someone would call me back. Well, I never got a callback. That is why I am writing this review. Other moving issues: The movers stopped at the gas station. When I saw them driving in a different direction, I called on my cellphone and asked them what was going on. They had to get air in a tire. I told them to "call me back as soon as they got to the new place, and I would have the manager run out and give them the house key so they could start unloading boxes right away". I told the manager about this because I was being charged $160.00 per hour. The manager complied. However, the movers waited half an hour before calling me back. During this time, I was filling out paperwork at the apartment complex. Another issue, the bed frame was not assembled properly. One of the bed legs caved in. I had to have a friend tighten all the connections to the metal bed frame. Also, my TV stand was not in the middle, but on the left side on the back of the TV. I had to have the mover redo it properly. This added more time to the bill. This company is NOT 5 star at all!! Based on the issues described--spoiled food due to negligence, broken furniture due to improper assembly, unapproved delays, and poor customer service--this company did not provide professional services. read more

I'm sure this company has good movers, but we didn't get them. It took 8 hours for 2 guys to move a two bedroom apartment that wasn't even fully furnished because we sold most of our furniture before the move. We had everything packed in boxes ready for them and there was no disassembly or reassembly of any furniture. The movers didn't work as a team. One of the guys was constantly on his phone changing his music or taking personal phone calls. They were also pretty careless with how they moved our stuff into our new home--banging up and scuffing walls. The guy that was on his phone most of the day broke one of our lamps, scuffed up a nightstand and broke several of our clothing moving bags because he was dragging them by one handle and throwing them up the stairs. They sent 2 individuals to assemble my furniture and utilize the space in my new apartment. These individuals had no idea what to do they argued with me that my queen bed I've been sleeping in for 4 years was a bunk bed, tried to convince me that it was, and then asked me step by step how to assemble the bed and what to do and where to put stuff. 1 individual told me this wasn't his job and he takes stuff apart he doesn't assemble. They were an hour late and couldn't figure out how to get in to the apartment calling me a ridiculous amount of times. They were extremely unaware, clueless, and made me feel unsafe. I emphasized over and over again when booking exactly what I needed to have done. I called A+ movers and said I needed a bed assembled and the room organized and what they needed to do in specific detail. The guy assured me they that they can do that and will get it done 100%. I was expected to instruct an individual on how to put a bed together. They couldn't do anything on their own without me giving them instructions. They were clueless and completely dependent on me. they wasted my time, scammed me out of $200 plus a cancellation fee. The front desk refused to give a refund and said it is my job to give them step by step instructions and denied hearing me say I needed my bed assembled. The individuals who showed up made me feel extremely unsafe. This company does not care about right from wrong, they have no integrity, and just want to take your money. Where do I begin?! PLEASE PLEASE if you need to move DO NOT use A+ Movers unless you want your house destroyed, items not moved in their entirety, and enjoy going to court! My husband and I chose them to help us move based on their reviews and the fact that we have a newborn. It's hard for us to believe the previous reviews are credible after what we experienced... The morning of the move one of the workers called us at 7:45 in the morning to ask us how big our house was, how many floors, and how many rooms--everything that was already previously documented several times with the company when we submitted our hundred-dollar deposit. The worker then proceeded to ask my husband if he had any tools to disassemble furniture. At that point, I saw red flags and knew it wasn't going to be a good day. How is a MOVING COMPANY asking me if I have tools, when we were told during our initial booking that disassembly and tools would all be provided by the company?! Three workers showed up, one of which only had been working for three months-- later, we would discover this worker was a main contributor to the damages created in our house. The first incident occurred when they were taking the refrigerator out of the house. I told them to remove the doors of the fridge because that was the manner it was installed initially to ensure there were no damages to my refrigerator or walls. The movers ignored my request and removed the handles from the doors only instead. The newest worker disconnected the refrigerator and water went everywhere. We had to supply the blankets to absorb the water and the lead mover, Youseff said that he fixed the problem and all was good. So naturally we took him at his word. As they were taking the refrigerator down the stairs they DROPPED it, landing into the wall causing structural damage (see attached photos). Immediately, Youseff told my husband that he would have a contractor come out the next day (being Sunday) to fix the wall and even facetimed a contractor showing the damages and asking if they could be fixed. The move took a total of ELEVEN hours in ONE trip and items still remained at the original residence, not moved. To make a long story short Sunday morning my husband contacted Youseff to see what time the "contractor" would be coming to fix the wall. He replied it wasn't going to happen and to contact the office for any further requests in regards to damages. We then immediately called A+ movers, and it took multiple calls but we finally spoke to a manger by the name of Josh. We told him about our experience and what Youseff tried to promise and Josh said he wasn't authorized to say anything. Josh then told us the best he could do for my structural DAMAGE was refund me one hundred dollars. We told him that was insulting and unacceptable. We then explained how the workers also damaged our refrigerator, scraped our bedframe and other personal items. Again, Josh said there was nothing he could do in regards to a full refund or covering damages, and after talking to whomever, stated the best he could do was refund 410 DOLLARS. Again, insulting!! Josh then told my husband and I to file a claim with evidence and copies of invoices for repair--we did, and never heard back from anyone with A+ Movers. Then I was stuck in traffic because of a bad accident on the I5. Ruben then started to laugh at me on the phone. He then asked me if I had other family members at my Fresno house to open the door. I told him no. He then asked me another 3 to 4 times and even suggested I call my real estate agent, even though they don't keep keys especially for a home purchased 40 years ago. Once he talked to his employees he told that I was never given a firm arrival time and the times I were given were much later, he apologized and stated that because his employees screwed up he was unable to charge me. Then he stated in anger "NOW I HAVE TO PAY MY EMPLOYEES FOR THEIR TIME !" An apology does not make up for the blatant unprofessionalism and outright disrespect that I experienced from this manager. Just called me while I was in transit on the freeway and started yelling at me accusing me of abusing my employees and claimed that he was unwilling to explain himself or allow me to tell him of my experience. Overall the actual movers did a fine job packing all my belongings and were professional when it comes to their interactions with me, but their office and their management team are completely unorganized and are hostile and down right predatory how they treat their employees and their customers. The movers onsite should not be held responsible for this negative review. I feel bad that their company made these workers work a full day drive all night in a rain storm and expected them to unload a truck and drive all the way back to San Diego without sleep. Then blame the customer for the situation and pressure the customer that they are directly responsible for the employees compensation. I recommend never to use A+ Movers.
