Man... It's so hard to keep up with all these new breweries in the Ville!! I love Atrium Brewing. We needed a post-rehearsal dinner hang out spot and picked this place on a whim. I was a little nervous at first that it would be too cramped for how many people we would be bringing in, but it turned out to be the perfect spot. There's a lot more seating than I expected. They have different kinds of beers - including some sours that I really enjoyed! This place is also very cute on the inside - and the perfect neon signage to get your Instagram pics with ;) I would definitely recommend this brewery to anyone! read more

Nice and clean brewery near Logan Street Market. They have a lot of fruity beers and milkshake IPAs that are just not my thing. I got the Pineapple Waves lager and it was good. You could really taste the pineapple juice in it. Service was good and the patio looked nice out back. read more

Definitely my favorite brewery in Louisville! They have some of the most unique drinks and, as a fan of sours , I'm very appreciative of their selection! The very first time I went there I got four different samples of sours and they were all delicious ( favorite one was birthday cake but then I went the next week and they didn't have it). Blueberry cake sour was DELICIOUS. Reasonably priced but worth the money to try other exciting beer. They have a food truck in the back of the brewery outside under string lights with fried southern food. It was really yummy!! I got three tenders and the deviled eggs and everything was delicious. The staff is very helpful and you can taste samples of the drinks before you buy. All-around good vibe! read more

Some of my favorite beers in the city are from Atrium. I LOVE all of the pastry sours they come out with (LOVE the Brambleberry Pie Boy and Lemon Blueberry Cake Boy)! They have an awesome little patio area in the back where they also have a food truck. The last time I went they had Brick & Mortar serving up food, but I've heard it closed and replaced with another food truck which I haven't had the pleasure of trying yet. But Brick & Mortar was SO good! Hopefully the new one is just as good. Overall, Atrium is a great place to relax with some great beers and tasty food! read more

Really cool venue, came here on a Sunday afternoon to watch football and have a few beers. Had the Fullest Sleeve which was a really strong hazy IPA (12%) and the Steep Hill. Great beers for a fair price. Food was ok, beer cheese seemed more like nacho cheese. Only reason I came to post this is because the two bartenders were as unfriendly as could be. Not that they were mean, but wildly unfriendly. Wouldn't look at you. Seemed annoyed when asking questions. Didn't offer any help. I myself have worked as a bartender and usually have a good report with other bartenders, so this was unexpected. I would go somewhere else next with better service, like West Sixth. read more

I am disappointed in Atrium. It is just not my jam at all. It reminds me of the type of place some rich person that's never been to Shelby Park except to scope out an investment property decided to throw someone money behind because he knows them millennials love their IPAs. Not saying this is *actually* what it is, but is *feels* like this. I am not really a fan of the drinking room, either. Everything is painted black. Just sort of depressing. If you don't like IPAs, then Atrium isn't for you. They have an abundance of IPAs, and they throw a bone to those of us that don't like IPAs by giving us a stout and pilsner option. Which is kind of them. The food is actually really tasty and reasonably priced. I would go to Atrium just to eat. I liked it that much. And you know what? It's the food that saves the day for me. Without the food then I really think I might rate Atrium a 2*. But they have food. So they get 3*. read more

The place was not full when we went. We didn't absolutely love any of the beers (even though I had a flight). We didn't eat here because we planned to go elsewhere for dinner after, but there are better and wildly friendlier places nearby to get beers and food. read more

I finally made it!! I've been wanting to try Atrium for the longest and I'm pleased to report: it was worth the wait. Entering Atrium you are welcomed with a sleek interior. How do you say....almost industrial and I loved it. There's the obligatory greenery wall for all your selfie needs. There's a beer list and I being not a real connoisseur of the beverage, needed help. Which they patiently obliged. I ventured out to the patio, where there was ample seating and an upper deck that I can guarantee has a beautiful view for a sunset. They do have food at the location in the form of a food truck, Daryk's, with items ranging from fried green tomatoes to fried potatoes. Sorry y'all, no pictures of the food as I devoured it. Order at the bar not the food truck! Cody, our chef for the evening answered any and all questions about the menu. I was excited to hear about a brewery opening up in my neighborhood. Like...I can walk there in under 10 minutes. And hearing that one of the brewers from Akasha had left to start Atrium....color me exceptionally intrigued. Then....Covid happened. And I wondered if that would hamper their opening. But I don't think it did.... I gave it a few weeks before paying my first visit, because...again....pandemic-times. But I paid my first visit when they dropped their first Louisville Beer Week offering, a collaboration with Against the Grain. I grabbed a four-pack of each and hoofed it back home to enjoy my beachy sour beers! It was a spectacular introduction to the new brewery and their offerings. Knowing a brewer from Akasha was coming here, I was hopeful for a steady string of sour beers. And Atrium has NOT disappointed! They are super consistent with keeping their social media updated and making sure their new releases are publicized and known! And what fabulous and interesting offerings they have had!! That 10% BCPF Fluph Boy has been my favorite so far, but their flagship Kolsch is super drinkable, and their stouts are thick and interesting. I have only stayed on site for a flight once, in the middle of a work day when the weather was mild, and I sat outside for my visit. The outdoor space is just as inviting as the indoor space! Staff has been friendly and ready with a recommendation when asked. I can't wait until the next new sour release, and I can't wait until the spring and summer when I can go and enjoy some beer on site on the cool deck and patio! I'm lucky enough to live across the street from Atrium Brewing, and damn am I glad that I do! I absolutely love this brewery! It's fairly standard on the inside. It's an open floor plan, with plenty of seating, and lots of televisions. There's a nice large bar, and a small area in the front where you can shop items like t-shirts and carry-out 4-packs. The real star of the interior is the photo wall in the back of the space. It's an awesome wall of greenery with a color-rotating neon Atrium Brewing sign. It's beautiful to look at, and absolutely awesome for photos! There's also a great patio space in the back, where their permanent food truck (Brick + Mortar) is parked. The food truck is awesome, and so is the patio seating. There's a huge television in the patio area, and you get a view into the brewery, which is one of my favorite parts of the space. Enough about the location, let's talk about the real reason to visit this spot, the menu! I'm not a huge beer drinker, I admit it. But, I have loved every single beverage I've tried from Atrium's menu! They have lots of stouts, sours, and goses, and those are my favorites, so I've loved everything! Of course they also have lots of other options to check out, like lagers and IPA's, so if you're not into the sweet or funky stuff, don't worry, they still have something for you. if you're a beer drinker, you definitely need to check out Atrium! But, even if you're not, they have some other options, including a few cocktails, plus the food truck and awesome space, so it's definitely still worth a visit! read more

First visit to Atrium. My wife and I had lunch and a couple beers. I started with a flight of four 4 ounce tasters, the Kolsch, Czech Pilsner, an IPA and a Pale Ale. I liked all four with the Kolsch being my definite favorite. We both had a full sized (12 oz) Kolsch to go along with our meals. For our meals, we started with the Pork Belly appetizer. I loved it, my wife did not. They are chunks of pork belly battered with a tempura type batter and deep fried. The only reason my wife didn't like it is the pork belly itself is not well done and the fat is still gelatinous. Great for me, I ate her portion! She had the Pork Pastrami Sandwich and added the Brussel sprouts as a side. The sprouts were delicious, but we both felt they were a bit too salty. She liked the sandwich, but once again some of the fat on the Pastrami was gelatinous and she deconstructed her sandwich at times to remove some of the fat. And yes, once again I was happy to eat the parts she couldn't! I had the Hot Pork Sandwich which comes with a side of Doritos type chips. The sandwich consists of a breaded pork Patty deep fried in spicy oil. The Patty is topped with Cole Slaw and pickles. I loved it. The Patty is just the right thickness, not so thin it tastes like cardboard, but not too thick either. For me personally, the spice was just right. It's more of a back of the throat heat rather than up-front heat. The heat (spice) also lingers between bites. I wasn't real crazy about the corn chips as the side. I'd rather had potato chips. Overall, we enjoyed our time there and the beer selection. Beers are reasonably priced. BUT, I would really like a choice of pour size. My favorite, Kolsch is only served in a 12 ounce glass for $4. I would like to see a pint pour or maybe larger. There is no table service on the patio. I wore myself out running back and forth ordering more beer. Yes, I had more than one. I will say, maybe I burned off some of the calories I consumed, just inconvenient when your in the middle of eating! I also want to add, the bartender was great and took time to describe most every beer on the menu board. Additionally, Atrium's hours are to our liking. They're open everyday at 11 am and we're lunch (old) people. No growlers!!!! What's up with that? Had my stainless growler in the car and definitely would have had it filled! Neat brewery that has popped up on Logan St. Was perfect for an small out door gathering with some friends, even on a chilly night. The seating is spaced out and COVID precautions are in place. Only bummer was that you have to go inside to order. I had a Kolsch style beer and the brussel sprouts. Beer was alright, nothing special. I hear they have some tasty Sours available soon, I'll need to try those. The brussel sprouts are delicious; crispy, bacony, and tangy cheese. A couple of my friends enjoyed the corn dog and said they'd recommend it. All in all, a fun experience and safe outing. read more

This is one of my top 2 favorite breweries in Louisville (sorry to all the others that don't make the elite list). I mean, let's face it...Louisville has LOTS of local beer options but Atrium is doing all the right things IMO. I don't even like sours, I swear, but the ones that Atrium offers do something to me. I mean they are completely delicious and really trick me into loving them. But I won't stop there. They have some really tasty IPAs too. Plus, like all worthy breweries, you can take your pups too (on the patio, of course). They also have a stationery food truck in the back in case you're hungry. You know how it goes once you start drinking that 7% and higher stuff. Go try these beers for yourself; you'll be glad you did! read more

After recently telling someone I am Yelp Elite, they quipped back "Are you also Hinge Elite?" It's true, most of my reviews are from places I went on first dates. But you know what, l'm ok with that. Atrium is an easy new favorite for me. Moody lighting, cozy ambiance, knowledgeable bartenders, clean and social distancing focused. What more can you want for a date spot or night out? I wish I remembered the name of the beer I had, but alas, here I am, being a poor reviewer unable to tell you what I had there that was so pleasant. I will definitely be going back to try their patio and food trucks if everything stays open a while longer and it doesn't get too cold. That said, they had everything quite spaced out and I felt comfortable inside. Over the past two months, I have visited this brewery a couple of times. This is in a great up and coming location on the edge of Smoketown and just bordering Germantown. It is easily accessible and close to downtown with plenty of street parking. Upon entering, my group was greeted and offered libations. Looking over the menu, there didn't seem to be many of their beers on draft, but it did just open. The beer they had was delicious, and it was nice that they had other drinks for non-beer folks. I look forward to seeing what else they create in the future. Leaving the bar, I really liked the decor with all the dark painted walls and clean lines. There was plenty of seating at long tables and booths. Moving outside, there were a few tables and bench seating for plenty. They also had a good truck onsite that one could easily order and pay for at the bar. They bring your order to you, which is especially nice right now. Even better was the fact that they have a large deck upstairs with plenty of bench seating a few small tables. Overall, they adhere to COVID rules. Customer service is great. Beer is delicious, and the decor makes for a great time hanging out with friends. read more

Two friends and I came here on a Wednesday evening. The only beer I'd had from this brewery was one offered at the Coalition for the Homeless' fundraiser earlier in the year (Atrium won 1st place!) and I was curious what the place looked like. It is small, but just a fantastic place to enjoy a few beers. There is an option to order food and the taco fries were delicious. My friends had the chicken tenders and they also raved about the food. I tried Whom the Gods Would Destroy, Blueberry Lemon Cake Parfait, Czech Pils, and Steep Hill in Las Vegas. All outstanding. Bartenders are helpful at making recommendations, too. There was a gathering of some folks celebrating Halloween so it was a great night to stop in! read more

BeerSauce Road Trip - LOUISVILLE Our last stop was easily one of the most standout spots in the young Louisville craft beer scene, 3-month old Atrium Brewing.  This cutting edge craft brewery / food truck hybrid is setting the bar high for local flavor.  We walked in the sharply decorated tasting room, saw the beer menu and knew right away we had found our new favorite spot in Louisville.  From several Pastry Sours to an ultra Hazy NEIPA to a truly Robust Vanilla Porter to an 11% Chocolate Coconut Imperial Stout in a 19oz can, Atrium was hitting all the right notes!   We walked up to Brick & Morter, the on-site food truck, under a massive 140" outdoor TV on the side of the building.  We ordered what became the best fried brussel sprouts either Christina or I had ever had.  The Hot Pork was a play on Nashville Hot Chicken without the excess oil, definitely had the desired heat and was smothered with excellent vinegar slaw.   Atrium Brewing has turned up the dial so far on the Louisville craft scene that this Sauce Guy predicts it'll make waves across KY for years to come.  We'll definitely be back soon! read more

You know how people say Norm Macdonald was a "comic's comic," since his peers in the comedy world had such a particularly deep appreciation of him and his craft? Well, Atrium Brewing is definitely a "brewer's brewery." Despite opening during one of the bleakest parts of the COVID-19 pandemic, Atrium attracted immense hype and acclaim right out of the gate and has remained a community favorite. If you were to ask the local craft beer aficionados which Louisville brewery you should try first, many would point you in this direction. Atrium has two primary claims to fame: its IPAs and its "Boy" sour series. If you're an IPA drinker, you really will feel like a kid in a candy store here: Atrium has a masterful grasp of super-light session IPAs ("Microdose," which has fabulous can art as well), triple IPAs that will bop you into next week if you're not careful ("Three Nights Only") and everything in between. As for the sours, there are usually at least two or three different "Boy" beers on tap, with examples including "PB&J Boy" and "Berry Berry Boy." These are always crowd-pleasers, and at their best, they give the sours at nearby Akasha a run for their money. While those beers perhaps grab the most attention, Atrium excels in other categories as well. My favorite beer of theirs is a recent collaboration with Lexington-based Mirror Twin Brewing: "No You Hang Up...," a dry-hopped pilsner. I'm not ordinarily a pilsner fan, but this one is remarkably delicious and a true original. They also make a fine hefeweizen, and while dark beers are definitely outnumbered on the tap list, I've enjoyed the ones I've tried here. The taproom itself is cute and laid-back, with just enough neon to set the mood without feeling like selfie fodder. Out back, there's a great dog-friendly patio area, as well as an on-site food truck that slings burgers, tacos and nachos. The food truck is pretty average and not a must-try by any means, but it works in a pinch. Atrium also hosts some boilerplate bar events such as trivia and bingo; they're good fun and anchored by a likeable host, but they also draw quite a crowd, so plan accordingly! Atrium deserves to be a staple of your brewery rotation - especially during the warmer months, when its decadent sours and IPAs get to shine brightest. read more

I had two of their ipas 'Where'd Rubo Go' and a 10% that is no longer on the menu and it was by far my favorite ipa I've had. It was maybe called three nights only?? I've been to Atrium a couple of times now and it doesn't disappoint. To me Atrium is the best beer brewery in Louisville. They have about 20 beers ranging from sours, to IPAs. I hate IPAs and found one there I love and offer Pastry Sours which I've never seen anywhere else. They also have a really nice outdoor space and a permanent food truck. My favorite part about Atrium are the incredible sours! The flavors are so creative and unique, from chocolate covered cherry to pineapple upside down cake sours, you can get your dessert and craft beer fix all in one sip. The ABV on their sours is 6.5% and up, which is crazy high for sours! Best bang for your buzz. Do yourself a favor and order a flight to try them all. The beers are constantly rotating so you're never bored, and the staff is so helpful. They also have a delicious in house food truck called Daryk's out on the patio. Atrium Brewery (henceforth AB) is located across from the former Smoketown USA (man, I miss that place!) building on Logan St. It's within walking distance of other Germantown favorites, like Eiderdown, Nachbar and just down the road from Logan St. market. When you walk in, orders for food and drink are taken at the bar, worked by two bartenders on a fairly steady Tuesday evening. The inside is pretty simple; the walls are lined with four to six person booths, and has tall tables in the middle section. There are a few TVs near the back section of the main room, and a stage that may feature some small-scale performances in the future (comedy, or small musical acts). Out back, there's an extensive patio/deck area; there's a variety of seating options, such as the upper deck with adirondack-style chairs. The "food truck" is located back here, but as said previously, orders are taken at the bar. Onto the beer and food... I tried their Kölsch, "Neuer Köln", a style which usually shows the capability of a brewer, and I was not disappointed. It's perhaps the best American Kölsch I've tried. Even though I'm typically not a Session IPA fan, "Microdose" was totally crushable and truly worthy of a drinking session. The highlight of the night was their strong Porter "Lord, Yes!" At 8%, this packs a strong punch, but is a satisfying, complex porter featuring notes of butterscotch rum, chocolate covered cherries and bitter roasted coffee. Every beer I tried I would have again, a feat for a new brewery. Food-wise, my IPA Corndog (served with brown mustard) was tasty and certainly better than your average fairground corndog. With all that positive, there are some areas that could use some growth: @ $6, the corndog without a side is maybe a dollar or two more than I'd prefer to spend. Beers were either served in their appropriate glassware, or in 4 oz. sample glasses. A "half pour" option would be appreciated; for those looking to try a variety, but to have more than the 4 oz. offers. There were some smokers on the top deck, which doesn't personally bother me at all, but ash from a cigarette very nearly went into my friend's beer down below. So, maybe something that needs consideration in terms of how to address the issue. Overall, if you're a Louisville beer lover, you need to plan a visit soon. If you are coming from out of town, I'd place this in the top four breweries in town already, along with Gravely, Mile Wide and Against the Grain. There's plenty of free street parking in the area. read more
