Well Joe's Seafood checks every box and some others I didn't mention. The entire staff is professional, in a warm welcoming way. They ensure that your experience is a delightful one, filled with superb pampering service. And then there's the food !!! This is when I was totally floored... for starters the assorted bread basket for the table is absolutely delicious ( I literally had to force myself to stop alternating between the muffins and mini biscuits ) Since I was eating light today I ordered the seafood salad ( chilled lobster & shrimp on top ) and the salad was so fresh and had that crisp salad crunch that mesmerized my taste buds with every bite !!! DC hands down is one of the top restaurant city's in the country and Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab is a big reason I can make that statement with absolute confidence !!!

They could have fit in a thimble. The stone crabs were tasteless. The best was the coleslaw. It took forever to get a glass of wine and ice tea. I will not recommned it to anyone. Ambiance was OK, the place was packed. People were very casual, which surprised me for such an expensive restaurant.

We were seated immediately and the dining room is adequate. Sufficiently decorated to make it okay. It is furnished for maximum occupancy which is fine. Think casual place, almost bar with food, not fancy at all. I do not mean for this to be a negative comment. Hank's presents itself as more of a beachside joint, not a high end seafood restaurant. Each of these sorts of restaurants has a place in the spectrum. Our waiter - Keith or Kevin - I'm so sorry but I cannot remember his name - was GREAT! Funny, good at his job, great personality and helpful. He started out with a corny, but cute, joke and he kept getting better all night. The manager too was quite good, professional and friendly. What a great staff! The food is good. I could talk about the lobster bisque (a bit on the strong side) or the flounder (a bit on the salty side). But, honestly, the food was good and I enjoyed it a lot. I did not complain about any of it nor do I think a complaint was necessary. So, as I said before, it had been years since I had last eaten at Hank's. But it won't be that long anymore. I recommend Hank's for a casual seafood meal.

I sat at the bar to access happy hour (bar-only, but oysters are available everywhere). Ordered a dozen oysters, bacon-topped deviled eggs, Old Bay fries, a salmon slider, and a tequila pineapple drink. Everything was solid-- the oysters were fresh, the deviled eggs were flavorful, and the Old Bay fries were perfectly seasoned. The standout for me was the salmon slider-- the sauce was so good I wish I ordered more. Great vibe for a casual happy hour. I'd definitely come back, especially for the $1 oysters.

Restaurant is a nice ambiance and Evon was the best server we have had dining out in a while who didn't mind us lingering longer to catch up with our friends. Our friends had been for dinner and loved their food, so we came back to try brunch. The jumbo lump crab gratin in particular stood out - perfectly grilled bread and creamy, decadent crab spread. We're able to share it for four people. The avocado crab toast was also good. Highly recommend the shrimp and grits. The fennel seed and Aleppo oil calamari sauce was so yummy. The apple and celery salad with cheddar, dates, pistachio and hot honey vinaigrette came together so well and was really refreshing. Good Bloody Mary. Everything we tried was on point. Maybe could have skipped the cinnamon bun, but that's just because everything else was so good.

Six locals who take food seriously and fellowship even more so. Having a well known hospitality insider in our group set the tone early when the restaurant manager recognized him immediately. We pretty much ordered most of the appetizers from the brunch menu. Crudo, calamari, cinnamon buns, two types of coal roasted oysters, oysters on the half shell, and a smoked trout caviar bump. Most were so good, we ran it back for seconds. The coal roasted oysters stood out most. We had a slight pause before ordering entrees because we knew someone at the bar, and ended up talking and including those around them. The atmosphere was so inviting that we all shared food and drink recommendations and ordered another round. The sangria was especially good. When dinner arrived it looked so good we had to try each other's dishes. Lamb chops, burger, grilled branzino, steak frites, and linguini frutti di mare. The branzino was one of the best I have ever tried, cooked with a crust on the outside that felt like a flavor party on the first bite. The service and atmosphere left us ready for the next phase. A short walk to bread pudding and ice cream at a nearby spot. Union Market is a vibe and a community experience and Cordelia is right in the heart of the action. A table worth coming back to again and again.

It's a lovely thing to wander through before heading in to eat just a few feet away. The setting itself doesn't feel like Washington at all. With the charming little patio and relaxed vibe, you could imagine you're in another country, and it strikes a wonderful balance between easygoing and sophisticated. Little touches go a long way for me, and they nailed them here: silverware with the lovely illusion of polished silver and elevated stemware that added an extra bit of vibe to the whole experience. The staff were wonderfully accommodating from the start: everything was still soaked from the heavy rain the night before, but they went out of their way to set us up in a lovely shaded spot so we'd stay cool and comfortable. That same care showed up in a much bigger way later, when one of our party passed out from a health issue unrelated to the meal, and the team handled it with calm, attentiveness, and real heart. Now, the food. The brunch menu hits all the classics, chicken and waffles, eggs Benedict with fun variations featuring crab and smoked fish, all the good stuff. I settled on the lobster roll, which was incredibly good, served with Old Bay fries that came out perfectly hot and crisp, exactly the way fries should always arrive, with ketchup on the side. We also tried the tuna tartare and the buffalo oysters, which were a blast: fried oysters with a blue cheese dressing and hot sauce, served in the cutest presentation in shells on smooth lake pebbles. On the drinks side, I had a "Bloody Margaret," a gin-based riff on a Bloody Mary, and it was wonderfully spicy, just the way I like it. The cocktail list overall is playful and worth exploring. Oysters are clearly one of their fortes. They focus on Virginia oysters, so it's a single variety, but they do a lot with it across a range of preparations. There's also a fun Virginia peanut-centric theme running through the menu.

It is pricey, lucky for me it was my birthday and I could simply enjoy myself. My cocktail was exquisite, forgot what it was called but reminded me of a pina colada, but not as thick. The flavor and the freshness of the Whole fried fish, with fragrant herbs, tamarind and lime dressing was good. The Parker House Rolls were fluffy, but nothing I would put on the highly recommended list. Our waiter was very kind and personable. Other than that, I'm not sure if I would come back. Most people enjoy Caribbean style restaurants that master various fish for a fraction of the price and more food. While the "more food part" may be considered low- brow, I'm sure I am saying what many are thinking.
