I'm writing this review with wholesome passion just as how people here make their food. I've loved everything I've tried at various Atwater's locations: artisan coffee, bah mi sandwich, pot pie, gourmet soups, brunch, handmade ice cream, etc. Even the sides are made of high quality. If homemade heartiness and dinning worthy delicacy can coexist, this is where it is found. Atwater's is much more than my favorite coffee shop, pastry shop, sandwich place, etc. It's the best of it all so I find myself comfortable here any time of the day. One rule of thumb I can offer would be to try anything that interests you on the menu, you won't be disappointed because their consistency in delivering quality food. We love Atwater's and go a lot for breakfast, but have tried a few lunch items. Their baked goods are always great. Biscuits aren't dry, very flavorful. Their jam is on point, goes so well with the ham and cheese biscuit. Food always ready quickly and staff friendly. Their takeout throughout COVID has been great! Great spot! Terrific "Arugula Salad" with chicken salad (amazing) added, which included pomegranate seeds and tangerine slices. All the trimmings and arugula were very fresh. The dressing was a citrus vinaigrette that was excellent. A small octaganol gem on the North side of Baltimore in the parking lot of a mixed commercial strip mall setting. There is a drive thru (which seemed to be clearing cars quickly. Inside are a tightly packed cluster of seats and counter service in a very cozy setting that 'smelled' delicious. The drink cooler had a nice selection of non-standard cold teas and other drinks. Counter service was very quick. I will definitely visit again if in the area. read more

I could keep this simple and say that every meal they have served me has been a hit. It's not the technical elegance of a 5-star restaurant. The feeling of a local place focused on quality and freshness makes this a favorite. The artisan breads with fresh soups. Wonderful, friendly servers. They just do it right. Stopped in after hitting up Trader Joe's. My iced chai latte was the most disappointing overpriced cafe drink I've ever had. If you've ever finished an iced chai latte and left the ice filled cup in your car all day to melt and then after work drank the melted ice chai leftovers, that's what this tasted like. Local art on the walks, and the servers are friendly and knowledgeable. The menu is informative about vegan/vegetarian /gluten free/etc. I had mushroom, spinach and butternut squash soup that was filling and satisfying, accompanied by a spring greens salad. I was out getting some last minute teach stuff at Learning How and since I have the house to myself this weekend I thought I would try Atwater's new location out. I got a 1/2 of a B.A.L.T. ($4.95)- Nueske Bacon, Avocado, Fresh Tomato, Garlic Mayonnaise & Green Leaf Lettuce Served on Country White. All the ingredients were fresh and very tasty. The bacon was perfect and the mayo had a nice flavor. I also got a cup of Red Pepper & Peanut with Shrimp & Crab (Szechuan Beans) $4.50. It had a nice kick to it. The peanuts were a bit harder than I expected. Overall, it was good. At the end my mouth was a bit tingly with heat. The service was quick and friendly. And as always the food was good. read more

I love this place. It has been a pleasure to come to this place over the last few years. I usually get a different soup every time, and I have never had one I did not like and the chicken salad is like no other. I also enjoy the crusty bread with the olive oil. I often come at dinner time after work to unwind. The service is great.. The waitresses and waiters are all exceptional and Josh, the sexy waiter is an extra treat for the eyes. He is so accomodating, and not overbearing,always smiling and creates a good atmoshpere. My only problems is I wish they had some better desserts like fresh pumpkin pie or wonderful cookies. Not that impressed with the desserts. If there was an Atwaters in Timonium, I probably would be there every day. read more

Whenever I am up near Towson with my wife or family this nice little restaurant is my go-to place for quick lunch. Great selections of teas and coffees. The food seems fresh made and is creative in technique and selection. Friendly young staff. BE careful though, it always seems quite busy and it is a little small, but you won't likely be disappointed. (Suggestion: would love some simple sugar for your delicious iced tea) read more

Super cute, cozy, laid back spot to get breakfast or lunch or go meet a friend for coffee and dessert. The cafe also sells in house bread, jam, and other delicacies! I've been to the Beveldere location many times and never had a complaint. We ordered food to go, my husband ordered half a chicken salad sandwich and I had the grilled chicken with bacon and avocado. Both sandwiches lacked flavor but the size of my husband' half sandwich was preposterous! Both our jaws dropped when we pulled his sandwich out the bag. For the size and price (6.00) , it should've at least came with a bag of chips. Again, BOTH sandwiches lacked flavor. NEVER AGAIN! read more

New favorite place! Everything is fresh and fame to table. So far I have tried several items and have thoroughly enjoyed each one. This is my second time here and the food is pretty good. As soon as you walk in it kind of reminds you of Panera or a similar bakery/cafe style but they do wait on you if you sit down. The people there were not the most friendly but they weren't rude either. They're just blah. Both times I went they didn't seem happy to be there or eager to help. I ordered the Minestrone soup which was tasty and the chicken salad sandwich. The sandwich was definitely my favorite! I also ordered the refreshing iced green mint tea. My total was over $15 which is definitely on the pricy side. Because of the service and the food I gave it 3 stars. Food was good, but so is Panera's. Went to Atwater's based on the reviews for their chicken salad. I wanted something good, easy, and fast for lunch, but not too fattening. Other reviewers commented on how tiny and crowded the restaurant is during peak hours, and they were not lying! I didn't even bother to get out of my car, so I opted for the drive through. The drive through had only one car in front of me. Although convenient, the drive through is extremely narrow and tight, so be cautious of you have a large vehicle. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich and rosemary chips. No drink. Those items alone came up to over $12! Definitely wasn't expecting to pay that much. However, the sandwich was indeed amazing. The chicken, the golden raisins, the cranberries, the bread- even the chips were delicious! I'll probably try to make the recipe myself to save money, but if I happened to be in the area & wanted to treat myself, I'd go again. =) read more

I love atwaters and this location is so cute. The food is great and they have lots of things to buy and bring home. Fresh baked breads, local jams, honey and caramels. The chicken salad sandwich is so good and their soups are flavorful. For the health conscious and allergy prone, they have labels of vegan and gluten free on their menu. It's normally pretty busy for lunch so it's best to come at an offline. This location has some sort of drive through, I'm afraid to use it but it's a great option for people who don't want to get out of the car. read more

I have noticed their service can be spotty at times but certain key customer service representatives who take a leadership role jump in to fill the service gaps and to sooth the customers discomfort and disappointment I will address the chicken pot pie that I dined on I'll say this directly this is not a chicken pot pie this is a knish baked in a very hard thing dance pastry shell The insides of the chicken pot pie knish Has a few strip pieces of white meat chicken and a few vegetables and a lot of potato and starch this type of filling Is more representative of a knish A knish Is a type of ethnic food from the azkenazi Jewish Central European tradition and is represents Baltimore's Jewish communities food tradition however as a chicken pot pie it is not and is a poor representation and at $11 a plate served and seven dollars carry out for a single knish I would rated poor as a chicken pot pie On top of the very well-prepared thick crust the pastry shell with some kind of seasoning that to my taste buds was MSG this particular food and taste enhancer is a poor substitute for real quality food stuffs in preparation and there's a distractor to the low-quality internals of this baked pastry chicken pot pie read more

Bacon! First time visitor and had breakfast on a saturday afternoon. The Atwater eggs were good with outstanding 5 star bacon and an incredible collection of fresh fruit (apple, pear, grapefruit, orange, berries). The toast was a great whole wheat. A regular tipped me off that it came with one slice and I ought to order a second. Stopped by and sat on the patio. Surprisingly nice ambiance for a parking lot. Got a cup but it was so filling I have some left over. B.A.L.T. (A for Avocado) - fantastic minus the hair :( Service, small little place that was jam packed, but the server and host were very attentive, friendly and great at their jobs. Such a great little place for lunch or breakfast! But the wait can be long if you want to eat at one of their tables for lunch. It's a convenient place to meet someone for lunch, which is probably why it's so busy. The food is always thoughtful with unique touches and the menu changes daily. I've enjoyed their chicken salad before, but this time went basic with a three-cheese and bacon grilled cheese sandwich. Couldn't have been more delicious! And it came with slices of local apple, which just complement it perfectly. The soups are always yummy and the desserts are hard to resist. My only complaints are the wait for a table at lunch (especially bad when the weather's too cold for the outdoor seating) and not having soda. I know, no soda can be a good thing, but sometimes I want a Coke with my lunch. Although it "forced" meto get apple cider, so it's really not that big of a complaint. And though the sandwiches are less than $10, I wouldn't consider it a cheap place to eat. When I spend $13 for a grilled cheese sandwich with juice, it's not cheap. read more

Chicken salad incredible. Bean burger with salsa is amazing, only Atwaters with it. Bread is great, huge selection and raisin options on the weekends. Lattes spot on. Pies are fabulous. Sit-in fabulous, but never again will I do the drive-thru. Sat in the car line with no way to pull out of the line for literally 25 minutes before we could even order. They made every order from scratch, taking their time, while the cars just sit there in line and wait and wait and wait. The restaurant has clearly no idea how to do a drive-through. It would have taken an eighth of the time if we had parked and sat down at a table. Then we would have waited for them to make our order and not every car's order that was in front of us! We also would have gotten back to our appt on time, which was the whole point of choosing the drive-thru in the first place. Worse, when we finally got our food, it was missing a drink because 'she didn't hear it' even though she had repeated it to me. There were barely any napkins. The one drink we got was so overfilled it spilled out when we put the straw into it. For a great restaurant, they need to understand that a drive-thru is a different beast with different requirements than table service. read more

Food was eh. I went based on a friend's recommendation. Nothing was really seasoned or salted well. The rating is for the food only because if I was to rate service it wouldn't even be a single star. My "server" forgot about me and then I caught him sitting at the bar texting. When I went up to physically close my tab myself after being ignored for greater than 30 min, his answer was "well I'm not really on the clock I'm just helping out." So, my experience here was a little disappointing. This location has a drive-thru and I'm guessing for time sake they have a limited menu...which I found out after I was at the window to order. In my opinion, if you have a limited menu so that people aren't waiting too long, then my thought and expectation is that the line should move....quickly. Well that was not the case. I order a half of chicken salad sandwich and a peach iced tea. I could see 2 cars ahead but I wasn't stressing that. When I finally got to the window, my food was ready sitting on the counter. I have the lady my card in which she returns to me a clipboard with my receipt and pen for signature. The catcher is this: SHE CLOSED THE WINDOW!! So, now I'm sitting there with my hand dangling out the window to give her back this clipboard so I can get my food and drink and roll out. It took her about 2 minutes to acknowledge me and that was because I started waving the clipboard and the coworker's she was having a co versatile with pointed to the window. I was a little irritated by that. The tea was unsweetened and I was not offered any sugar...and I felt for the money I paid it should've been offered. I pop in to Atwater's very frequently and I am always delighted with the quality of food I get. The staff there is so friendly and welcoming and they have a great dynamic of working together. I enjoy going in with friends but it is also a nice place to go alone and just enjoy the atmosphere of the restaurant. Some of my favorites include the avocado toast, chicken scottish pie, and basically all of the soups. You can try the soups before getting one and I always fall in love with at least one of the soups on the menu that day. An all around great place for any occasion! read more

I actually think this Atwater's is even better than the Canton one sometimes. They seem to have additional soup offerings here that I haven't seen before. I also love how cozy it is, but it can be hard to get a table during peak times because it is so small. read more

I went on a Saturday afternoon and the place was packed! I ordered food to go because there was a wait for a table but the host and the guy who took my order were both friendly, helpful, and attentive. The food and the coffee were great as well. I'm from out of town and was just in Baltimore visiting a friend so I've only been in the one time, but the service was so great that I felt compelled to write a review anyway. Even though it was super busy the host followed up to make sure I had been able to place an order already and the guy who took my order checked in to let me know it would be just a few more minutes before my food came out.
