It was so good we came back twice! The first time we arrived for brunch so it was our first meal of the day. There was a small crowd in line waiting and placing orders with two guys taking the orders and making the crepes. The older French gentleman is very serious about his crepes and makes them with care, he doesn't rush through it even with a crowd of people waiting. My beau always asks what the popular items are and orders it, and the French crepe maker who speaks english, recommended the eggs, ham, cheese and all the fillings (onions tomatoes and lettuce). So we order two for €5 each. I should have looked at the pictures more and read the reviews in more detail because the savory crepes are huge!!! Plus they put a lot....I mean ALOT of cheese in it and I'm not a big cheese fan, I can only tolerate a little at a time so I felt bad that I had to pull the excess cheese out of my crepe. As full as I was, I still managed to finish my savory crepe with most of the cheese taken out. He on the other hand happily scarfed his down. Our brunch for €10 total was a success! The next day, before heading to the airpprt, we decided to come back again for the sweet crepe this time. This time another friendly gentleman helped us, and again was super nice about recommending which crepes to order. While waiting in line to order, the smell of the savory crepes made me hungry so I ordered an egg, chorizo, onions, tomatoes and lettuce crepe (no cheese this time!) While he ordered the banana grand marnier sweet crepe, total was only €6! We shared our crepes and were glad we did because I couldn't have finish an entire sweet one myself and he was hungry enough to eat part of my savory crepe. The crepes here are really different from the ones in the states. It's thin but crispy. So it's really a sandwich wrap but soft enough to have a pancake like texture I'm towards the middle. This place reminds me of taquerias back home- its cheap, good, and always busy. Au P'tit Grec is definitely the place to get a crêpe in Paris. This place was recommended by my best friend's brother who studied abroad in Paris 4 years ago. He raved about the "crêpes salées" or "gallettes" which are the salty crepes which can be filled with cheese, meats, and vegetables. Now fast forward 4 years and its his sister and I raving about the exact same place. Au P'tit Grec is located in the famous rue Mouffetard which has various markets, stores, and restaurants (it is also located near Paris III- Sorbonne Nouvelle which explains why there are so many students around). Although their specialties are crêpes they also sell paninis and hot dogs. Crêpes range from 4-7€ but it all depends on how many items you want in it- every item is 1€ except "salade, tomate, et oignon" (lettuce, tomato, and onion) which are ALWAYS free. Be careful with the items written in chalk because they're actually charging you for the items that they usually put in for free with any other crêpe. I highly recommend the "crêpe d'oeuf bacon oignon et fromage" (egg, Canadian bacon, onion, and cheese) but in all honesty you can't go wrong with any of their "crêpes salées" and especially if they have egg in it. Also don't worry if you can't speak French because the guys working there know about every single language spoken in Europe. WHAT??!?! This is what a real French crepe is like? Totally not what I was expecting! I am used to the very light and thin crepes made with wheat flour, these were made with buckwheat flour giving a very different taste and texture....not in a bad way, just not at all what I am used to. So I had a little lesson in French cuisine after this: apparently savory crepes (cheese, ham, chicken, etc) are made with the buckwheat while the sweet crepes (nutella, fruit, etc) are made with the wheat flour. I had no idea! Anyway, Au p'tit Grec makes a fabulous (and Paris affordable) crepe loading it with tons of toppings. It is delicious, fresh and incredibly filling. I had two crepes in Paris. Hard to believe but then again, I stayed two days in paris. The first day hardly counts because I was lost most of the time and the rest trying to find wifi and charge my phone. I had crepes from this place on my way back to Gare du Nord (from where I would take the Eurostar back to London). My struggle of trying to explain to the crepe maker of what I wanted started again. I had not brushed up on my french before visiting Paris and was now stuck in a rut. I asked a guy what was vegetarian and good (I found meat options to be slightly misleading when you don't know the translation of meat). I ended up choosing a crepe filled with tomatoes, mozzeralla cheese (lots and lots of it) and onions along with salt/pepper. Pretty basic but pretty yummy! All in all I was happy. Tl;dr Overhyped but pretty good Not sure if worth the wait or the trek as it's kind of far from city center (louvre area) I decided to come here after visiting musee d'orsay even though it was raining and (very) out of the way, just because of the things I've heard about this place and because I was starving. This place wasn't hard to find on the street - just look for the queue. The wait was about 45 min. Similar to how long I waited for the museums. The menu was in French which I couldn't understand, so I asked for a crepe with ham, cheese, mushroom, egg and salad. The guy who made my order was super friendly. He asked if I wanted any sauce on it (which I don't remember him doing to those ahead of me) and suggested hot sauce and mayo (because I'm from the states?) Anyway, I declined the hot sauce as I have no spice tolerance and took the mayo. He was patient with me taking pics too (I had put the lens cap back because I didn't expect the sauce) The crepe was HUmongous! It's definitely worth €6 but I couldn't finish it despite that I haven't eaten for ~7 hours! I felt full before I was even halfway through the crepe! The taste: it was good alright, the mayo really complemented well with everything. But not sure if it was worth the trek or the wait (in the rain). My bf wanted crepes so we came here after seeing great reviews of the pal e. We went around 11am and there was already a long line. We had to wait about 20-30min for our turn. They have both savory and sweet crepes. We ordered one of each. I had the Nutella with banana and my bf had the savory crepe. (Don't remember which one. I wish I knew more french as I would have a greater appreciation as my taste buds were quite fond of the crepes. It was so delicious. The staff speaks limited English, but is very friendly. Most American crepes are very thin, but the crepes here can be huge. The crepes are well made and the execution is spot on. You will notice that there are many crepe shop down the road, but all the locals and foodies know that this is the spot. Your average looking crepes from Au P'tit Grec is more like a meal. We stopped by Au P'tit Grec to grab a late lunch while walking to the Pantheon and were luckily met with a very short line. For only 5-6 Euros a piece, we were quickly on our way with some huge crepes! Service was decent enough and it was fun to watch the crepes being made. The crepe itself was awesome with just the right amount of crispiness/chewiness, but man do they load it up with cheese. This might be a plus for some, but it was a bit too much for me. We tried a couple of different crepe places during our visit and this was definitely one of the better ones. Totally worth a stop if you find yourself in the Latin Quarter! read more

My favorite crepe shop in all of Paris. (Believe me, I've tried quite a few while I was studying abroad: another day, another crepe). The savory crepes here are amazing. Seriously. Mouthwatering delicious. It's a small shop: you order on the outside and you can watch them make your crepe. There's usually a line, but don't let that scare you. It goes quickly and it's so worth it. I can't remember if the menus were entirely in French or if there was English as well, but the people are extremely friendly and helpful. You could ask someone next to you in line or an employee. I would recommend any crepe with ham and cheese! (Jambon et fromage). Classic combination. So French. AND it's cheap! It's around 5 euros for a crepe bigger than my face. Moreover, after you finish your crepe you can walk around Rue Mouffetard and hit up some bars or get another sweet crepe for dessert. I walked by this little hole in the wall twice on my first day in Paris and there was a line up at any time of day. We decided to try it based on the reviews and the line up. We were expecting Greek dishes (lamb, feta, rice etc). Nope. The owner has a choice between two crepes (sweet or salty) and your choice of filling. And you can choose anything you want. I had egg, cheese,smoked chicken and grilled eggplant. My partner had egg cheese and chicken. We stood in line behind a very friendly regular. He gave us instructions how to order and all kinds of local history. For three people is was only 23 E. drinks included. None of us could finish our food. Great for an uncomplicated night out. The only down side was the owners made your food and worked the cash without washing their hands. A big no no in Canada. The only seating is a shelf along one wall. It is a humble little space that whips up amazing crêpes & galettes. I got the most expensive galette, I don't remember what it was called but it was soooo good! I watched the man craft the beauty right in front of me so it was hot, fresh and delectable. The aromas in that place was enough to get the waterworks going in my mouth! My favorite spot to get a savory crepe (or galette) and for cheap. They have a wide selection to choose from with different cheeses, meats, veggies, and the additional egg. Imagine all the yummy sandwich ingredients wrapped into a crepe and then warmed to melted perfection. And these crepes are BIG, I'm always left fully satisfied. Oh, and you can get sweet crepes as well. All for 5€ at the most expensive crepe. As for the place itself--it's small, with very little seating--more of a grab and go spot. This was a great little spot in Rue Mouffetard. The service isn't so great as they guys don't seem to be in a rush to deliver the food quickly, and keep it moving. However, the crepes and paninis they have are exceptional and at a great price. They have so many variations and you can also let them know what ingredients you'd like on your crepe. The combinations are amazing: I had an onion, cheese, potato, jam, lettuce, and tomato crepe that was unreal. I also had an egg, cheese, bacon as well as chocolate, banana, honey crepe. Really do not see what the fuss is about. Very long wait, crepes were pre made so not as fresh as they should be. To top it all off you are looking at 5-7 euros per crepe. All the ingredients were mass produced - supermarket in a bag cheese and cured meats. To make matters worse, they overcharged us. OOH LA LA! (French expression which means: "OOH, great food and at killer prices too!") I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars. It's probably near the 8 1/2 mark and I really can't oversell it either. It's a little bit of a hike if you aren't staying on the Left Bank but it's worth every step and bypassing every tourist crepe stand along the way. You can pick from several crepe combinations they post on the blackboard or just tell them what you want (e.g. lettuce, tomatoes, turkey, etc.). Expect them to come loaded w/ melted fromage dripping out of the seams (fromage is French and it means gooey awesomeness). Or, if you have a sweet tooth get one with bananas and Nutella (Nutella is Italian, but also means gooey awesomeness).
