Well the day started great, heading to Austin to pick up a 2018 Audi TT for my wife. Started the process on Monday and working out all the details to pick up on Saturday morning at 9. Upon arrival I was told my salesman hasn't arrived, upon his arrival he was slightly hungover. He then stated they were sending the car over to make ready. All week I had asked for better photos of the vehicle, he sent me very poor photos with sun facing the lens. He had stated Friday afternoon all they were waiting on was me. A little bit of a lie on his part. When I asked to see the vehicle I was able to look at it in a 1 bay car wash, not having enough room or lighting to compete the inspection. 3 hours later we are ready to leave only to find multiple paint issues on the wheels. They did make restitution on the wheels. Found several items later about the car that I think they were trying to hide. I would never buy another car from the Hendricks Group. If only the color choice we wanted was available closer to home In Ft Worth. read more

Found a 2011 Acura wagon on-line here and worked with Desmond Townsend over a few days to test drive and negotiate a fair price. Desmond was terrific and he handled my trade-in with ease. I left the dealership feeling great because my old headache (check engine light, etc.) was gone and the Acura was pretty much exactly the car we wanted. I'd give five stars but I was a little put off by the extended warranty marketing I had to sit through and decline once I started signing all the paperwork. If you can choose between Audi North and Audi South, go north and AVOID the south location for your service needs. The attention to detail here is sorely lacking, both in customer service and in actual technical servicing. I brought in my 2015 Audi A3 for its prepaid scheduled maintenance. Was told the appointment should be no more than 90 minutes but I ended up waiting over 2 hours. The extra 40 minutes' wait was not a big deal, and this alone would have been excusable. When the service manager came to get me, he failed to go over the checklist of what was done to the car, so I had to ask, and he (unenthusiastically) obliged. Then I got in my car and as I drove off the lot, the same warning light on the dashboard came on, indicating that the AdBlue needed to be refilled. For a TDI, this is akin to going in for an oil change and leaving with the check engine light still on. How am I supposed to know what work was actually done? So then I make another appointment to bring in the car. Same service manager - doesn't remember me, doesn't apologize for the mistake or the inconvenience, makes me wait awkwardly without letting me know how long before he wraps up his computer work. Blames the lack of apology on the fact that the person who followed up with me on the phone was from a call center in another state. It seems to me that nobody here takes ownership over their work. I am writing this as I wait in the lounge for the second time for my car to be serviced properly. Mistakes are sometimes unavoidable, but failing to take ownership and being completely indifferent to the inconvenience your mistake caused me is inexcusable. read more

Audi service is booked until June 12th...presently 5/30 must have many failed Audi's in Austin. NO LOANER cars available for working class people.... Hope my wife can pick me up from Spicewood since 20miles is their transportation limit, Audi's service is not built around millage. read more

Warning: If you are under 25 and/or have visible tattoos, don't expect the sales department to take you seriously. My friend and I are both in our early 20s and we have tattoos on our arms. I feel that because of these attributes we were not treated like legitimate customers, which was very frustrating. The purpose of the visit was to look at the s-line cars (potential trade in for his 2001 S4). Keep in mind, we pulled up together one hour before closing time in his S4 and my 2015 VW GTI. We were greeted in the showroom and the salesman did seem very friendly, but after discussing our purpose and talking about Audi for awhile we were trying to move things along since they closed in 30 minutes. We at least wanted to test drive one or two vehicles and talk some numbers, but the salesmen must not have trusted us. He said they usually don't test drive the 2016 models which were the only s-line cars on their lot at the time because they want to keep the mileage low. Plus he used the excuse that they were closing soon. So he used two bogus reasons to turn us down; apparently 30 minutes isn't enough time to conduct a test drive and they expect customers to purchase from them without trying the car out first. All in all, it was a very unprofessional showing. We might go back sometime during the day when they cannot use the closing time excuse, oh and we'll probably wear suits... Or we'll just go to another dealer that will treat us with respect. read more

We decided to come by your dealership after corresponding through emails. We decided to come by to look at this preowned Acura RDX and left a message for the salesperson. When we reached the dealership, he was with a customer. We waited for a long time. There were several sales people there, but the receptionist advised that only the particular salesperson can show us the vehicle. Fair enough, we waited. Finally he came by saying that he will bring the car to the front in 3 mts. He disappears and again we don't see him for the next 20 mins. After that he came by and advised that the ACURA had some issues with the battery and wasn't starting. He had to get it started and hence the delay happened. I was ok with that too. He came with us for a test drive. While getting off the car, I saw some scratches outside the vehicle and I was asking whether that was something that could be fixed. He said he will take a look at it and then immediately asked me whether we would buy the vehicle if that is fixed before even we went inside the office to discuss other details like price, which I thought was being really inconsiderate and pushy. We went in. He started printing out some paper work for us to fill in. In a minute, he got a phone call in his cell and he started talking on the phone while we are sitting in front of his desk. He then walked away with our car key since we were asking about trade in. He goes inside a room, still being on the phone. I waited for another 20 mts not knowing what is going on. Finally, I had enough and decided to leave the dealership. The customer service was pathetic. It took forever for someone to assist us, vehicle not even ready with a battery, talking on cell phone while a customer is waiting in front of his desk, then walking away without telling us what is going on. And yes, I did buy an Acura in the next week from another dealer who provided great customer service ! read more

This is for their service dept (or lack thereof). Called to have a brake job and oil change. Was told the work would tale 3 hours if the rotors were OK or 4 if they needed to be replaced. Took the car in at 7:30am expecting to be done by lunch. Was told they would call with an estimate of the brake work. I called more than 2 hours later and complained that they were unlikely to get the car finished in 4 hours if they took more than 2 hours to get back to me. They called soon after and told me I needed the 4 hour job. Called at 2:00pm since I did not hear about progress. They called back at 2:30pm and said the car was getting washed and would be ready by the time I got there. I arrived at 3:30pm to find a dirty car. And the oil change that cost me $160 at the Audi dealer in Boston costs $230 here. Here's my summary experience: Was told the service would take 4 hours. It took 7 hours. I picked up the car after 8 hours there - the car was not washed as promised. My travel coffee mug which was in the cup holder when I left the car was rolling on the passenger floor. The old "time for an oil change" sticker was still on my windshield from Boston. They did not provide a new reminder. The car that I was told was being washed at 2:30pm was still dirty at 3:30pm and delivered to me that way. And it only cost me $2,000 for such great service. I am never going back to that dealership for service. read more

He made me a deal that we both felt good about. He was professional, friendly and personable. The wait was longer than normal but to be expected at 7:00PM on quarter-end. Both John and the Sales Mgr were apologetic about the long wait and thanked me for my patience. I would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for my sub-par experience with Chris Ray in finance. I booked online, rescheduled due to the Memorial Day flooding and rebooked for the following week. I chose the 7am slot and they had a nice loaner ready. I was checked in by Michelle, and she was fantastic and efficient. They had me on my way in minutes. When I returned to pick up my car, it was washed and ready to go. Sandy met me to review the work and again, I was on my way in minutes. They are so efficient, and everyone is very friendly. I was pleasantly surprised by a handwash and vacuum too. I was in the market for a new car and visited this dealership with my brother and sister in law. We spent quite a bit of time looking in the cars, sitting in them, etc.. in the showroom. We noticed several sales people chatting with each other and kept expecting them to come over and offer to help. Nope. They just kept chatting. After awhile, we decided they must not like to sell cars, so we left. As we left we saw they did begin to assist a customer...but not us. We were still in the market for a car, so we went to the Lexus dealer, were helped immediately and bought a new Lexus that week. Too bad for those salespeople. I just had my 35,000 mile scheduled service done at Audi South Austin. Mike Laughlin was my service advisor and just like the other reviewer stated, I felt like I walked in to a meeting with friends...both Mike and Michelle greeted me warmly and had a loaner car ready and waiting. Mike made arrangements to have the considerably extensive service done within a day and also tried to take care of a small bumper issue though they are not a body shop. Service price was reasonable although not the cheapest in town. I wouldn't want my Audi to be serviced in the cheapest place in town either since quality, service and expertise matters. I found the other staff also to be warm and friendly with a smile on their faces. I will definitely recommend this dealership for service. I have no experience with the sales department yet since I bought mine at Fort Worth Audi. read more

This review is specifically for the service department at Audi South Austin. My wife purchased a new Audi Q5 and within a month of driving it, she had a tire blow out on her with no external damage like a nail or shard in the tire. Now I understand that such accidents are common, even with brand new tires. What made me mad was not that I had to shell out $300 for a new tire, but the response I got from the dealership. Their position was defensive to the point of being aggressive. The manager was so focused on dismissing the dealership's liability that the conversation soon turned daunting for me. I mean the least you can do is be compassionate and calm down a customer. Never did they express regret that we had to go through this experience. This lack of people management skills has definitely soured my view of Audi and this dealership in particular. I've had better service at Discount Tire to be honest. At least they stand behind what they sell and treat their customers with care. At this point, I am tempted to ask them to prove to me that the tire had indeed blown out through factors other than the quality of the tire itself. But I'm wondering if that is a lost cause. What depresses me is that I will likely have to deal with them for future services in the years to come. read more

A little over two months ago, I purchased a used 2009 Audi S5. Since then, it has been in Audi South Austin service department for about 30 days. As it turned out, the issues were two fairly minor problems - a high pressure fuel pump, and a voltage regulator. It took 30 days, however, due to repeated misdiagnoses and unnecessary repairs. In fact, before the faulty voltage regulator was discovered, a diagnosis was made that required an almost $2k repair. The repair was made, the bill was paid, and the same exact symptom existed the day I drove home. Long story short, they tried to convince me that even though the symptom was identical, it was a new problem, and the previous repair actually fixed the problem. (I have no clue how having the same symptom could ever constitute being repaired) After discussions with management, they finally agreed to refund the amount of the ineffective repair. Today, when a catalytic converter code returned that the South Austin shop assured me was due to the voltage regulator, I dropped off my car with Audi North Austin. So far, completely different experience. They actually gave me a loaner that was comparable to my vehicle, instead of the absolute bottom of the line A3 that South gave me. Slow work, poor service, and bad communication. Highly recommend that you avoid this establishment. read more

Bought a brand new Audi SQ5 2018 from this dealer. Assumed it was fully manufactured and assembled in Germany, but final assembly actually was performed in Mexico. Do not buy this model! I can only assume they are having teething problems, as I've been back with this car 6 times with defects ! Within a month both real wheel moldings fell off. Took the dealer 3 tries to fix it. Both front windows have broken down, motors had to be replaced . The drivers seat heater is not working, they told me Audi are not sure how to fix the problem, so that will mean a re call and another trip back to the Dealer.The Dealer has told me if I want to have the car replaced I have to deal with Audi Head Office in Michigan. They have refused to replace the car, stating that there is nothing wrong with it, so I have now retained an Attorney to see if I can get it replaced. Luckily it's still under Warranty, but Audi USA have told me after the Warranty runs out I'm sweet out of luck. This model is a Lemon,so don't buy it ! Tom H read more

This review is only for Audi South Austin's service department, which I've only used once ever (and it was this week). Summary: The car's brake light stopped working -- it wouldn't turn on when the brakes were pressed -- so I returned to the dealership to get it fixed. Long story short: I had no appointment, but they fixed the brake light and washed the car on the spot, charged me nothing (the warranty covered it), and only kept me there for 2 hours before I drove the clean fixed car home. The only parts that sucked were at the beginning: I didn't get anyone to talk to on the phone before I headed over, and it was unclear how to start the process (they kept me waiting in my car indefinitely). But I definitely left with a smile. Details: I had called in to the number on the service card that was given with the car manual, but was redirected a few times before reaching a voicemail box, where I left a message and my number, but was never called back. (It turns out that guy no longer worked there, which wasn't unusual since we got the car a few years ago.) So I had no appointment, but I drove to the dealership, pulled into the drive-through service station, and stayed in the driver's seat with the car on (with the air conditioning running), awaiting instructions. There were at least 4 Audi staff people working inside who looked up and saw me through the windows, but none of them came out to greet me (and it was a sunny day). Not knowing how long I'd have to wait, I turned off the engine, but stayed in the car. After a while, I got the feeling nobody was going to come out to help me, so I left the car there -- parked and blocking the way -- and went inside. Several of them immediately greeted me and asked what I was looking for. I said I wanted the car repaired today, but I was unclear on how to start the process, and I couldn't tell if they were going to leave me waiting outside indefinitely if I didn't come in. I could tell it was unintentional. They were friendly, professional, and knowledgeable, but everyone was busy pitching in to cover everything, in a decentralized, slightly chaotic way that wasn't stressful. They hurriedly assigned someone to put aside what they were working on to help me. She quickly pulled up the car's lease agreement to log this issue for inspection and repair. She offered a complimentary hand wash and vacuum of the car. I asked how long it would take, since I'd like to leave in 2 hours. She said that would be plenty of time, so I quickly signed paperwork allowing it and handed over the car keys. She showed me to the waiting area, which was full of magazines. I occupied myself with my smartphone. She updated me when the brake light was fixed, then returned to tell me the car was done cleaning. She had me quickly sign more paperwork acknowledging receipt of services, then gave me a copy of the receipt detailing the problem found, repair work done, and the car cleaning. The bill came out to be $0 because it was all covered by the warranty, which was awesome. She returned the car keys and walked me to the car (which was clean and shiny). Audi South Austin's service department was a pretty good customer service experience. I liked that it was convenient, hassle-free, and quick (on the spot, and under 2 hours as projected). read more

After a massive mistake made by the manager on not one, but 2 car quotes that they approved and had already taken a down payment on, they came back and said they had messed up on the numbers and would have to go back on the entire deal for both cars. They not only didn't help make that mistake right or offer any further incentives, they tried to lie to me even more and rip me off once again by giving me another quote on a nicer car that was even more expensive than the first quote they gave on the same car. Never would I come back to this location. If you're going to do math for a living, please learn how to do math. They lost two sales to the North Austin location now because of un-professionalism. read more

I bought a used A6 in 2015 from Carmax. Took it here to have the first service done. Everyone says "Don't go to the dealership - They'll overcharge you!" Guess what? Despite the fact that the first owner prepaid for it and I had no idea, Audi South Austin told me "you're prepaid for 30k miles!" Think about that. They could have played it cool and said nothing and just pocketed the money, knowing I bought it from a 3rd party (who definitely had no idea about the prepaid service). Recently took it in, no unnecessary service required or recommended. Sandy Ramirez in the Service Department took care of me this time around. Super friendly, polite, and once again no BS or unnecessary services/repairs. Only charged for inspection. Highly, highly trustworthy and highly, highly recommended, especially Sandy Ramirez. I tried to buy a vehicle from them recently over the phone and I kept getting the "I will call you back in 10 minutes" line. Phone call never came. I had to contact them 5 times just to finally speak to someone that would take the time to discuss my interest. But, once I got that person, I got the " i will have to call you back tomorrow" line. I drive a G37 Infiniti and after experiencing 10 minutes behind the wheel of the Audi, and then getting back into my car, it is like going from 4K color TV back to black and white TV. My wife still raves about the car and its handling. But what makes me happiest is knowing my family is safe. Just days after buying the Q7, my wife was backing out of a parking lot with our kids and a reckless driver was speeding through the parking lot towards my wife, and while my wife was backing up she could not see the speeding car, but before she realized it, the Q7's pre sense feature had immediately applied the brakes to avoid the collision. I could have purchased any SUV, but investing the extra money into the Q7 and its safety features is one of the best decisions I have ever made.
