I just moved to the Island a few months ago and have dreaded trying to find a mechanic. I have grown up around garages, and have always done most of my own maintenance on my cars and even most of the repairs as long as specialty tools are not required or too extensive that I need to have it done by someone more experienced, and even at that I always go to an old family friend who owns his own shop. All in All This is a great shop and I will use Audie's again and would recommend him to anyone who asks, unless he sees this and bans me LOL. Read the full review below for the details Last week driving home in rush hour traffic my car started making some noises that had me concerned that my car not only needed some work but a priest as well for its last rights or exorcism. Finally I get it home and after initially thinking the water pump pulley was shot but figured out it was the harmonic balancer had separated and was not very happy about it. My father was visiting so while I was at work he went and spoke to the guys at Napa they recommended Audie's and I found some reviews about him as well and thought we would give him a try. I dropped the car off first thing Monday morning before anyone was there. They have a nice drop box for after hours with envelopes to explain the service you need. put your keys in the envelope, seal it and drop it in the box. Granted I saved him some time already having the problem diagnosed but I was impressed by how quickly they had the repairs done. They were finished early afternoon same day, and on top of that they only charged me for about an hour of labor, which is all it probably took them having the right tools and such it saved me from buying more tools, and fighting with it for 3-4 hours. Ok so here are the reasons for not giving a 5 star rating for this shop. Before I decided to take the shop anywhere I called around to check prices on the parts. NAPA had the part in stock for $154.00 on the invoice and when we spoke to Audie he said the part was $250.00. Now I understand all shops charge a little extra markup on parts for either delivery charges and just because they do but I think that this was a pretty steep markup for that part. However like I said he was very reasonable on the labor which I would say accounts for the markup in the price of the part except (assuming Hawaii's tax laws are the same as others) i ended up paying more in taxes than if it was a labor charge. read more

I first met Audie and his wife Anne years ago when I had a VW Jetta, and my CV joint was making noise, and my AC wasn't working. I was told there might be a leak in the tubes that would be really expensive to fix and not worth the money, and the other company's quotes to fix my cv joint was WAY out of my budget. Someone suggested I check them out. I called Audie, and he was really nice on the phone. He told me "Das easy, don't worry about um. Bring um down, I'll take a look and we'll go from there." I was uneasy, and nervous because he wouldn't give me an estimate on the phone. He said it could be different things, and he didn't want to mislead me. At the time my husband and I worked constantly to support our living on our own, and we didn't have a lot of money. I was worried about how much it would cost, back when a hundred dollars made the difference between eating or not. I took it down, Audie and his family were there to meet me. He shook my hand, took a look at my car, and fixed my joint for about a hundred bucks under the lowest quote I got from the other guys. Then he did something awesome. He re-charged my a/c and put dye in my system. He said: "If she works, she works, you don't owe me for it. If your a/c dies out again, bring it back in and the dye will show me where the leak is. Then you can pay for the repair. Deal?" Definitely a deal. Over the years, Audie and his family have always guided me in the right direction, informing me of when I could get the cheapest part, and when it was advisable to get the more expensive part. He has a great deal of knowledge, and the little differences between car makes and models depending on the year - which parts are interchangeable, and which aren't. They have done work on my Jetta, my Rabbit, my husband's Ford F150, Toyota Rav4, Ford Ranger, my father's fleet of trucks, my sisters cars, and several of my friends. I have had mere acquaintances go out of their way to come back and thank me for referring them to Audie. Someone even made me banana bread once! Over the years they have become almost like family to us. They always ask about the kids when I come by, and know everybody by name. The entire family is licensed as mechanics, and they have always done exemplary work on my vehicles. I trust them completely, and that's a hard thing for me to say about any other auto repair shop. DON'T waste your time or money here. THIS COMPANY WILL RIP YOU OFF!!!!. Had my alternator fixed here ( at least I thought I did), only to find out the alternator is defective. Same day after picking up my car, the battery light on my console came on. Took my car back only to be told I had a shortage somewhere. Had alternator replaced again by some one else, guess what?? ??? Alternator was defective Battery light off!! Shame on you!! What if I my car had stalled while I was driving? read more

If you want to go to a mechanic who will take care of you and tell you exactly what you need and give you a reasonable price go here if you want to be ripped off go other places, I only go to audies when I need repairs he tells it like it is and never over charges!! Well took my vehicle for some electric work to be done so I could pass inspection. After Audie keeping my car for 3 weeks!!! After much persistence from my husband he told us what he thought might be wrong and would call back with quote. Never heard from them again. Don't waste your time... unprofessional, kept saying they were so busy but yet took my car in and agreed to take on the job they never even got started with. Then when my husband went to pick it up and pull from their lot they were rude... like we were the ones who had done something wrong. find somewhere else to take your vehicle.
