The Audio Express store on Cactus Road in Phoenix has sold me many car stereo systems over many years, including a $2,000 stereo/ GPS navigation/back up camera/rear boombox speaker system. I am a loyal customer. Today, Audio Express staff went way out of their normal service to install a bluetooth headset in a motorcycle helmet. As I am unfamiliar with pairing the headset with my Apple I-Phone, their excellent staff not only installed the headset, but also spent alot of time pairing to my phone when I did not remember the phone password. They also spent time trying to contact the Apple store, and spent more time teaching me the operations of the helmet bluetooth headset. I appreciate the Audio Express staff going out of their way, above and beyond expectations. They really earned their $50 labor fee. Without their help, I would not have a bluetooth setup and would not be able to enjoy music on my motorcycle. Thank you, Audio Express for all your extra efforts. read more

I stopped by to see if they could install a hard wire kit for my dual dash cam. They cannot only install it but also rewire my dashcam to hide the wires. They were able to install it today and ensure I was available to get to my appointment by 3:00 p.m. To install the hardwire and rewire the dual cams it was under $500. It was well worth the drive across town for great service and the additional security of my vehicle. read more

Installers and the manager are terribl, stereo was installed half A_S. Manger and installwe never verified everything worked before it left the shop. I wanted to go back the same day but needed a day to cool off. The radio doesn't get any stations and it was never tested at least to see if everything work. Horrible business practice and crappy customer service. DONT GO ANY AUDIO EXPRESS. 75th Ave & Thomas OR ANY LOCATIONS. I called Nissan to see if they could install a remote starter on my 2020 Rogue. I was told they couldn't, so they referred me to Audio Express. When I arrived at the Glendale, AZ location, I spoke to Riker. He gave me an estimate of $500, and then he asked if I wanted the starter on a new key fob or have the remote added to my existing key fob. I decided to add the starter to my key fob. He looked at my key fob and checked the computer. Lo and behold, I didn't need a starter because my car had a remote starter previously installed and I was never told when I bought it. Chandler AZ shop... These guys are BAD business. They broke a dash part on my Acura NSX while putting in a sound system. It was in the middle of the dash- impossible to ignore. They claim "Sorry pal- old plastic gets brittle" Fact of the matter- it was fine when I took it in & broken when I picked it up. I've reached out to them several times hoping they would offer ANYTHING for my trouble. It took me $400 and 3 months to get a replacement part from Japan. I never expected them to do anything but make some offer of compromise. They have been NO HELP. And they do not respond to messages left or even the chat window on their website. Make sure you can confirm with them that they will install a stereo at the time and date promised Walked in to buy a new stereo and have some speakers I've already purchased installed as well. I told the sales guy I needed it installed today. First he said he couldn't do it today, but he could do it "tomorrow ". I told him I wasn't unable to do it tomorrow. He said he would go verify came back and said he would have it installed by 5 o'clock. I said are you sure he said yes I gave him my card to run $470 to do the work. He charged my card then walked over to a supervisor and come back to tell me they cannot do it today. So basically, he got my money to hook me and not do the work that day as promised. I told him "I had a feeling you were going to do that" refund my money. They kept trying to push me to coming back another day and I told him No. They're real pushy with their sales with a bunch of BLAH ..... I called on a Tuesday morning to get some subs wired. Sebastian made it a very easy to understand process and even stayed open a little late to make sure I would get my car the same day. However when I did get my car back it was very dirty. I work in a shop I understand it's not going to be perfect but grease and dirt on the seats and smudges all over the glass is not acceptable. I wasn't able to clean it with regular products. My detailer even struggled to get some spots out. Not to mention the setup barely works. I can get halfway through a song before the amp goes into protection mode. Sebastian did notify me I could upgrade my amp from a 4 channel to a monoblock to make the subs hit harder, however he didn't mention anything like it cutting out or straight up not working. Took my wife's Toyota there to have autostart installed so she will no longer get heatstroke everytime she tries to drive somewhere. 1. Took twice as long as suggested (4hrs instead of 2hrs) even with an appointment. 2. Went out to leave and the newly installed part didnt work. Went in and he suggested we were doing it wrong until he tried it and it didnt work. Wife outside roasting in the sun, no cust service, just excuses. 3. Kid upsold me on the better version [so the car wouldnt turn itself off when she ipens the door]. Kid was at lunch, manager told me that was inaccurate and he would talk to him. 4. Some douchy rep came out to enjoy our suffering, smiling at the conversation we were having with the manager like he found it comical. I hate spending money for a gift, having the service not work, then to have the recipient treated like she was stupid by a sales rep when in fact they had screwed up. I've been back and forth on the vanity of a remote starter, do I need one, do I not need one, is it a waste of dollars that I could spend on car payments, the mortgage or that gold tooth I've been looking at? These are tough decisions, but the summer months are upon us again and if I have to walk out from the grocery store and put my bag of ice into a 168° car again I'm going to throw this bag of water someone. The sales people at audio express showed me all the options for remote starting, with an alarm system, without alarm, with 2 way remote, with a one way remote, with the mobile app integration. There are so many choices, but I picked out the features that I wanted to outfit the car with and then went home to think about it some more. The next day I gave them a call to ask a few more questions, they had some time open and I dropped the car off for the afternoon that same day. My car was ready at the time they estimated and I was off with my same ride, just a bit "cooler" than before. My one bit of feedback would be to have someone give me a quick 5 minute demonstration on the new features so I could have asked questions. I was just handed the keys and aimed in the direction of my vehicle after it was ready. I'm no stranger to fun technical things; I went home and played with the new app and key fob to get it all figured out. Over all I'm happy with the result. Now whenever I am out grocery shopping I start my car while I'm in line at the checkout counter from the mobile app and the car is nice and cool when I get there. No more melted bags of ice or burned skin in the shape of a seat belt buckle for me. read more

Don't waste your time. They tried to sell me something that I didn't need for a Viper alarm. Some sort of an adapter for the alarm to communicate with my car. That alone was almost $150. The alarm was a little over $350. Don't get me wrong about the sales guy. He was really cool & nice however he was doing it to rip me off. They didn't have any available appointments for about 2-weeks. I looked around town & got the same 2 way Viper alarm for way less & I didn't need that extra junk adapter! Not only that I was able to get power door locks! Go to Cardinal Stereo in Glendale! Word. Oh... don't try returning stuff at audio express. They will ONLY give you store credit or a straight up CHECK! This dude gave me a refund of about $22.00 Not only that he told me NOT to cash it. I had to deposit it for the funds to clear. read more

Worst install experience of my life. Lies followed by lies followed by more lies. Ben is a new employee that doesn't know better yet. He is a very nice guy. But the manager, Kevin is incompetent to say the least. Everything he told me was a complete lie. They charged me for an install and never completed the install. They refused to call or communicate with tech-support on the stereo brand that that I paid them to install. They basically pretended to install it. But didn't, then charged me $1,800 anyway. Kevin told me that he emailed tech-support. I asked him to forward me the email please. But Kevin refused to forward me the email. He said I should just believe him. The company who makes the stereo says they never received an email from Kevin or Audio Express regarding my vehicle. They said the only person that contacted them was me. When you first walk in the store, you must ask for Scotty Karate to help you pick out the best no matter if you have a small or big budget he explains things for dummies like me that don't know anything about gear. Friendly and out going and loved walking around listening. Nothing against the others I'm sure they aren't bad, but Scotty kicks ass got everything picked and had some small issues in the gear being installed but props to the store manager Kevin for making things right by taking a percentage of the bill off as soon as he realized there was some issues. So stoked I get to write this review, I have been having no radio in my mini cooper for years now. And you read that correct, it's been years. The guys at audio express were able to remove my old pos factory radio that fried and nobody was able to diagnose, even mini. They got me set up with a 7" Sony display and wired my trunk for bass and I couldn't be happier. They did phenomenal work and the homie Adrian up front did a great job keeping me informed and staying in touch with what was going on during the install. Great communication and great work. The team at the Cactus Rd shop provided me quote to replace my headlight assembly for $199. I proceeded to procure the hardware at a cost of $300 to myself. I scheduled the work to be done 3/23. This work request was seen by two AE reps and they did not report or bring it up as an issue until I was onsite. When I took my cart in for work, the AE team said it would be a 100% increase in costs. As I am living on a fixed income, I do not have disposable cash laying around. I would have hoped they would honor the quote, but to no avail. They did not even offer to spilt the difference of the increase. I consider this a very poor business model to literally do a Bait and Switch on costs. I can assure you I will not have a positive recommendation for this company. I had a system put in my Harley Street glide system worked great. A few months later I noticed some crackling in the speakers and so I took it back after work 430ish pm. Not only did they remember me by name they took the bike in the bay fixed the problem and had me out by COB. Three hours later I Uber back over and its not working. I tell the manager who talks to the installer and he promises to fix it the next day. Drop it off the 2nd time, uber away and back 2 hours later and ITS STILL NOT WORKING! They run through every excuse you can get and I tell them this is ridiculous. Guess what - NO REFUND. Wasted my time, $130 for the install and $60 on ubers. Drove to The Big Chain place at 20th and Camelback- Bam! Done in 30 min for half the price. I had originally shopped @ the AE off Rural and 202, and purchased a JL Audio system front to back w/ sub and all for my 2013 F-150. A manager that is no longer employed there, had told me that if I was to purchase a 'lifetime warranty' for the system, he would only charge me for the year warranty, and 'guarantee' the lifetime coverage for everything. In order to make a sale, he gave me false information and lied about my coverage. My sub blew and I was in a pickle.
