DON'T MAKE THE MISTAKE OF CHOOSING AUDIO EXPRESS!!!!! I am writing this review to share my unfortunate experience with Audio Express that cost me thousands of unneeded dollars. I had a high end stereo system in my Tacoma that was to be transferred to my new Tundra. The bar was set high because I know what a high end stereo system should sound like and Audio Express did not have the "know how" to reproduce that high end sound in my Tundra. Through a series of very bad recommendations that caused 7-10 trips back to their shop for a patched and botched install, I wasted a lot of time and money to end up with my high end equipment sounding subpar. Audio Express was not capable of, or competent to, plan and execute the install. Later, recently, I also discovered the amateur sound deadening job they did that was not even close to what is required for high end equipment. Overall I spent approximately $8,700 and I already had top of the line 2-way components for the front stage (JL Audio ZR-650csi). Their focus on getting me to spend the most money possible has left me deeply regretting my decision to use their services. Any good car audio installer worth their salt will help the client not only choose the right equipment for their install but also help them understand the pitfalls they might fall into if the customer does not make the right choices with their system. In my case I was provided several bad recommendations in which Audio Express led me through the ringer. It was not until I sought advice from another installer that I was able to start getting on the right track with my stereo system. Recently I went back to Audio Express to try to give them an opportunity to make things right...they refused. In addition, they told I could sell the unneeded equipment on Offer Up. Wow...talk about zero accountability and workmanship. It does not matter that the equipment has been used for a few months because they knowingly sold it to me without care about its need and feasibility. I had to go to Kartunes and spend an additional $4,000 to fix the laundry list of problems due to the shoddy work and advice of Audio Express, please see the comparison pics below. Please don't make the same mistakes I did with using Audio Express. Keep in mind, they are going to try and respond this review with some nonsense response. They have completely lost sight of the customer and I recommend going to Kartunes where the customer comes first and the quality of the install is second to none! Scotty got me in on very short notice and worked around my schedule to get my alarm installed with the upmost care. In the past I've taken my cars to the location near 59th & Bell Rd, but they were seriously unhelpful the past two occasions I've visited. Scotty was immediately able to assist me and answer all my questions. Rather than give me the run around and trying to upsell me, he listened exactly to my needs and got the alarm I wanted. I came in to replace my old burned out stock head unit. I have not been in a car stereo store for over a decade. But it was as smooth an experience as they come here. I did not feel any sales pressure, and was able to browse the head units and ask questions. Manny helped me with my questions and explained to me other things as well. I normally would visit several stores to price compare, but i felt comfortable enough to make a decision right there. He looked up what he needed to order, and the overall price for it all seemed fair. Afterward, i went home to price shop and saw immediately it was a good deal. The install the next day went smooth and looks great. Afterwards, Manny walked me through the settings and set it up to my phone for me. But there is more here, because there was 1 other issue with my car. I had an ongoing parasitic leak (battery drain) I mentioned to them. Manny not only knew all about how to test for such a thing, but his team found and fixed the issue during the install. No bull, fair price, and a quality install. Worst workmanship in the world. $1 install is worth every penny... I was sold a used stereo and it had been returned with a CD jammed in it. Them the next time I made the mistake of going back for a alarm. Cracked my windshield stole me Sony camera and drilled 2 unneeded holes in my dash for alarm blinkers. You would think they would use the blinker that was there but that's to much thinking. Never again will I go there or tell anyone anything nice about this company. read more

I was debating between this place and another place nearby. I came over here to see what they can offer and was impress with their customer service. Bradley help me a lot since I wasn't sure what route to go. He show me what they have and didn't lead me in any direction. He did offer his experience which help me with my decision. After I gave them a budget, I started adding more and more parts. Bradley and the team did all they can to keep budget. If it was over, they offer to look for other parts to make it cheaper. Originally, I planned to go slow with just a few upgrade. I ended up getting the whole system put together. They even installed it the same day. The installation team was amazing too. After they tried to do what I asked, they sent me pictures of what it will look like and offer suggestion on fix or if I was really sure that was how it should be done. They even warn me of possible problem with my car that i should look into soon. I was glad I stopped by this place after I already made an appointment with a different company. read more

Audio express does good work, so this isn't a reflection of their work. I am a big believer in integrity, so I will give Audio express a chance to provide feedback. Several years ago, Audio Express installed a full system in my Nissan 350Z. Kenwood deck, speakers and a built-in custom woofer in my trunk. This was in 2016, approximately. My engine on my 350Z blew 8 months ago but my sound system was still working perfectly when it went out. I had a new engine put in and went I started it up only 1 front speaker was working. I thought the engine installer may have loosened wires or not reconnected somethings but I was in the market for a new deck that had Apple car play so I took it back to Audio express to have it looked at. I explained my situation and they agreed to look at it. They told me the solenoid or capacitor (can't remember which) in my Kenwood deck went out and it needed to be replaced. I agreed to have the work done but ended up finding the same deck at BestBuy for $100 cheaper. I went to BestBuy and purchased the same deck and had them schedule to have it installed. After Best Buy heard my situation they found it didn't make sense and diagnosed the vehicle. They found a few loose connections, tightened things up and everything was working fine, included the deck. I still went on and had a new deck installed but my issue is that either Audio Express was either being shady or they were incompetent. I don't it was their lack of competence. Bottomline, they lost a customer because of this situation. My advice to Audio Express: treat a returning customer well and they will refer other customers. Even 1 referral can lead to a lot of business. Instead, they lost a customer and bad news spreads a lot quicker than good news. I get it, times my be tough for businesses, but integrity should still come first. It goes along ways. read more

Home of the One Dollar My Ass.. is what they should call it. I was here about five years ago and purchased my stereo along with Sirius satellite radio (big Stern fan). After pricing it all together, it came to about $280-$300 with everything. They let me know it will take a couple hours to install. Since I work near the place, I just ask them to call me when it's done. I get the call and they tell me its done.. and the total bill is upwards of $550. I flip out and that's when they let me know about alllll the extra parts and fees they charge you for putting tons of crap in. They will rip you off. If you want good quality stuff, go to Crutchfield.com and order and have someone you know install it. Audio Express blows. read more

On a whim a year and a half ago my buddy and I decided we wanted VIPER remote starts in our vehicles. He called Audio Express and got a verbal deal on two units installed. While at Audio Express we started talking about subwoofer systems and flush with cash we inquired but were quoted a price that we both thought was a bit more than we wanted to spend. Then Josh the manager asked the salesman what we were planning, overheard us say it was too expensive and after he clicked his way across the computer screen the price for two remote starts and two subwoofer systems was dramatically changed....deal! It took several hours to install the systems to discover that during the install in my car an electrical short circuit disabled my headlight switch (2010 Ford FLEX). It required a visit to the dealership which involved a rental car for two days, but true to his word Josh handled everything. Last week I returned because the dub-amp quit working. It's under factory warranty. The replacement amp was back ordered and I am from Flagstaff. As it turns out I had to return to Phoenix today and called Audio Express. The amp has been replaced. I went into audio express after looking online for a marine stereo for my boat, and got educated information from Miguel, who worked at the Cactus & Tatum location. Not only did he explain why I should get the model and make I got, but was professional about explaining why I should pair it with certain speakers ... when I was ready - no pushing!! Because I had to leave town for a day, they also agreed to keep the boat overnight and do the installation, plus keep the boat in an enclosed bay for safe keeping. It was an awesome experience, and everyone was friendly and respectful .... not a rarity today, but certainly not as common as we all hope, and they met and exceeded all expectations. Everyone at this location was super helpful. I brought two cars in for some work. The prices were much better than going to a dealer. With one car it looked as if the amplifier in the trunk was kaput because the wheel well flooded. I was actually pricing out an entire new system that would have set me back about $400, but they suggested that we wait to see what happened when the amplifier dried out. It did and the the stereo system works flawlessly now. The other car needed to have the actuator replaced in one of the doors (which didn't unlock) so it wouldn't open. Do NOT trust these folks with your car. I have a 1946 Ford Coupe resto-mod that I took in to have an AMP installed. Everything seemed to be going fine until the afternoon when I get a call asking me "How to put the car in gear". The car is an automatic with a shifter in the middle like a modern car - and just like a modern car you have to push the button on the gear shift so it will move from Park to Drive. Nothing more was said - I go to pick up the car and pay - nothing more is said. I get in the car and go to put it in gear - the entire shifter falls over - completely unattached!!!!! I have no idea how this happened - and NOT ONE PERSON mentioned that my car was broke!!! No apology, no attempt to fix - NO NOTHING - Just a shrug and "The tech didn't mention this". I spent over $900.00 and brought in a perfectly functioning and driving car and got it back only to have it unable to even move. The shop that works on my car said that this absolutely the result of someone yanking it and forcing it to move without pressing the button - same that would happen to a new car if you forced the gear shift to move without pushing the button. Exploring the option of a suit against them to at the very least have them pay for the damage they caused not to mention time lost, can't drive the car, etc. If you are looking for Professionals - this is NOT the place. Would advise you take it ANYWHERE but here! read more

I had to give this location 5 stars. I don't even know where to start lol. First 75th Avenue and Thomas never go to. The worst location with audio express. I purchased speakers for my car front and rear including the tweets I also bought an amplifier for them. Well...driving home I realized all the sounds were not there the Songs sounded empty there were vocals that were not there and certain sounds. Come to realise all 4 speakers were playing off the left channel only. When I called 75th Avenue in Thomas location they Were already Up for a fight telling me that I will not get that quality with the system that I have unless I buy some extra amplifier 1st of all I spent $1500 on a high and sound system and there tell me I can get stereo sound?!?. So I called the location on 23rd street in Indian school and boom Scotty karate to the rescue. He was looking at what I bought he said That it's impossible that they could not give me stereo sound for the high end sound system that I got. So I picked up my car took it to this location and everything was solved no extra cost for parts come to find out they had wires crossed in the wired my car totally wrong. Think you Scotty karate for coming to my rescue the best customer service I have ever experienced. So the technicians on 75th Avenue and Thomas need to be retrained because I was told his top technician took a look at my car in that I need extra amplifier to get stereo sound freaking ridiculous. read more

There was an item associated with configuration of the receiving RV GPS unit that I said I would do. I needed to know why my viper alarm and remote start was not working, took it to several shops who just said they would need to reschedule, I called this location and they asked.me to swing through to try one thing, they at least attempted to look at it real quick and reset the alarm transmitter and receiver. It worked! Sometimes 5 minutes its all takes to gain a customer, I will be returning to more work done. The customer service is genuine and good! read more

I recently purchased a BMW and didn't realize how much of a nightmare it was when it comes to installing an aftermarket car stereo in it, so I took it to a local car audio shop and was denied service because of the iDrive feature on my car. Thankfully, when I called Audio Express, they were eager to help me solve my issue and were able to find a way to integrate my audio and video media devices seamlessly with my iDrive. They were informative, helpful, and even offered suggestions to make the finished product even more seamless. I ended up using them again a couple weeks later and their manager was really helpful in offering me discounts on their products and working with me on a fair price because they valued my business. Hello. I recently visited the cactus audio express location.  I spent over 1300 to add a sub. Amp. And replace the four stock speakers. The rear doors didn't have speakers from the factory.  I was quoted a higher price of 2200 to do this work with higher end speakers. 5 channel amp. Rear door speakers. And hushmatting all five doors.  I decided on the 1300 quote that included hushmat on three doors. After getting the vehicle back I did feel the sound was not right with no speakers other than the sub behind me with the way it is set up.  I contacted Sam the manager at the cactus location and explained to him the dissatisfaction and felt it needed more surround sound and how much would it be to get the rear door speakers installed? I reminded him I did just spend over 1700 with the remote starter install.  He quoted 2400 to install a five channel amp new power wire. Rear door speakers and hushmat the remaining 2 doors.  Now, the front doors and trunk are already matted and I was originally qouted 2200 to do this same job.  So why was I the unsatisfied customer given a quote for 200 more than what I was originally quoted to do the entire job.  It's obvious to me this store cares nothing about the customer and only $$. My sister was going to bring her car there and my brother in law was excited to see my remote starter and was ready to bring his car in as well.  They will not now and I Will not return. do not shop here. read more
