The jury is still out. Good doctors don't always have the best bedside manner. The staff is super nice and attentive.

Pain. Dr. Epter always keep me, patient , waiting hours before my appointment. Has very poor bed side manner. Caused me more pain than I had visited him to treat me for. Does little to no follow up care after a procedure. Would not recommend him. His office staff is excellent, but can not make up for his behavior. read more

The most unprofessional experience I've ever had just happened with Dr. Epter at Augusta Pain Center. DO NOT EVER go to Augusta Pain Center. Also, turns out that he, Dr. Epter, owns the practice so there is no point to meet with the management after an appointment like I did. Dr. Epter at was argumentative and dismissive when he finally showed up in the room 1hr 20mins late, and stayed approximately 10 mins. I even pointed out his obvious attitude and he forcefully told me that "I've misinterpreted the situation". I'm honestly shocked at the audacity of this 'provider' and will never return. I will also make sure to tell everyone I can about my 'experience' today. On a good note, the other staff were excellent and friendly. I did xpost this on Google too. read more

The care I received was substandard. I had a surgical procedure for SI joint spacer that has left me worse than before I ever went there. The surgeon Dr Epter merely said "I guess you are part of the 1 or 2 that it didn't work for" then said there are no guarantees here"! He was rude and dismissive. It's been 3 months and I'm still not walking g properly and I'm experiencing so much pain that I didn't have prior to the procedure. I filed a grievance and my best suggestion is DO NOT GO TO APC (Augusta Pain Center) it seems to be a Meficate payment mill!! I now know to ever go there again for ANYTHING and to not recommend it to anyone for a human or a pet!!!if I could give them NO Stars I would!!! The staff was pretty much professional but the dr thinks he is GOD and attempts to talk down to you if you are not in agreement with him. He seems to be borderline e racist and dismissive to a woman patient. I don't know if he does this with men. read more

Such a clean office and friendly staff!!! All of my questions were addressed and answered in such a way my husband could understand them. Dr. Epter is such a warm and compassionate physician. Even though he has to find out where your pain is generalized at (causing pain) he is so empathetic about causing you any pain. He is an amazing physician and feel very comfortable being under his care. His staff, from the front check in to the nursing staff were so wonderful and caring!!! I would refer anyone with debilitating pain, chronic pain or pain in general to give this wonder and caring physician's office a call to schedule an appointment!!!! I wish I could give more than 5 stars but 5 was the limit!!!! read more

By far this office staff other than the office manager, Jeff are the most obnoxious incompetent staff that harass patients to correct their mistakes. The people in billing are the worst They made a mistake on my insurance claim and were going to force me to pay them before my injection next week. This is my third run in with them and seriously considering going elsewhere . They need to learn it's about the patient. With repeat patients they won't have jobs. read more

The absolute worst experience of my life with a doctor that is being paid a great deal of money to help find you some relief. I need to stop before I get any further and say that the staff including my nurse were excellent and very attentive. Dr. Better which is a complete oxymoron because he did nothing to make me better. He was rude made me feel ignorant and acted as if he was not listening. I am at my witts end with trying to figure out why I am in pain all over the place, and he concentrated on one area and blew off the rest. DO NOT GO THERE... There has to be other places. read more

This is a really great place if your having pain anywhere. They are all kind and some employees will even have you laughing the whole time. I am and will always be thankful for what Dr. Epter did for me. I had suffered for years with CRPS after crushing my foot in a car accident. I was disabled at the age of 26. Being a young teacher and runner, this was absolutely devastating to my daily life. I could barely walk around my school campus let alone run. I gained weight and was not living the active life I enjoyed. I couldn't do most activities without being scared that I'd fall and hurt myself. Dr. Epter helped me learn ways to mentally block pain as well as introducing me to spinal injections and the neurostimulator. He always remembered me and asked about my family specifically. He even remembered after I returned from staying in California for a year while my husband was deployed. The office staff was always kind and remembered my name and specific things about me when I walked in. It was so good to have a group like them to go to while being so far from family. I cried the moment my stimulator was turned on, it was the first time I felt complete relief since my accident. Dr. Epter absolutely changed my life! I am so thankful! read more

If you are having any type of chronic pain issues you really should get a consult with Dr Epter's team. I had been a patient about ten years ago but moved. Now that we are close enough for me to get here, I feel so blessed. Managing pain is hard and becoming even harder because of DEA regulations. The awesome thing about this practice is they treat the WHOLE patient. They have PT right on sight with an indoor pool for exercise and aerobic therapy. This is over all a horrible place to go. It is easy to get an appointment and they accept all kinds of insurance and make payment arrangements. On there website and over the phone they tell you about their many . to help you. On their website there are many wonderful reviews about Dr Epter. The problem is you don't get to see Dr Epter, you see Dr Nicholas DeAngelo who to me was horribly arrogant and uncaring. There is a psychologist on staff, Dr Shiff and it is mandatory to see him. You are given a long psychological exam and boath Drs suppose to work together as a team. I have bi polar and suffer terrible anxiety.Dr Shiff tried to help with exelent suggestions and relaxation exercises. Dr DeAngelo however... I can't even begin to explain how horrible my experience was. He did a nerve block procedure on the left side of my neck/scalp that was so painful I still have nightmares and panic attacks when I think about it. When I told Dr DeAngelo that not only did the procedure not work, it made my pain much worse, he got angry with ME! He had already put me on a dangerous narcotic pain patch that did not work when I told him before hand that I did not want to live on narcotics. When the block procedure did not work he insisted I stop smoking. When I came back the next MONTH and told him I had it down to one or two cig. A day he got angry and said I wasent complying. He would not even alow nicotine replacement. He told me I had to wait another MONTH to come back, and if I passed a urin test for nicotine,he would put me back on the narcotic patch. When I reminded him we were working towards a nerve stimulator he told me that it wasent going to happen and that the only thing he would do was the narcotic. I did go back the next MONTH and gave a sample. I just wanted help. When he told me I had to wait another MONTH! I was devastated. I had been kissing ass and bending over backwards for help and it was for something I didn't even want. In my opinion the only thing accomplished there was Medicare Medicare fraud. read more

Dr. Epter's office could not have been a bigger waste of time, energy, or money. This place will cancel your appointments, make you fill out 20 page first visit forms, a urinalysis that you have to PAY for, overall horrible bedside manner, customer service, accuse you of drug abuse, call you a liar, and refuse to acknowledge or treat your pain. The visit with the doctor itself was one of the worst I have ever had with a "physician". Claimed I never had any of the pain I discussed with them even though I was medically discharged from the military with multiple diagnosis of back injury and pain covering a span of 5 years. This facility and all of it's staff should be ashamed of themselves for masquerading as the farce that they are. DO NOT GO HERE. read more
