My Go-to place. The bloody dub is a must. It's a bloody mary that made me like bloody mary's. It is spicy deliciuos, but the waiters will not give you the recipe. I visited the place 50+ times and tried weasling the recipe out piece by piece, but feel I still do not have the whole thing. I'll just keep trying lol! The food is great! Always fresh and generous portion. The curious surprise are french fries; spiced with Indian curry mix - surprisingly delicious. My favorite are seared ahi tacos, seared ahi salad, crispy fish tacos, and the reuben. All are the bomb and satisfying. On the subject of service, we have gotten a prompt, professional service almost every time. One time we sat at the bar and the bartender forgot about us, which she admitted too. Really she was working some poor suckers down the bar. I just cracked up and moved on. But... it was one time out of tens of times we visited, so definitely will not hold it against the place that brings me so much joy! Thank you! read more

I've live in valley for 3 years and there new kitchen staff for winter 2019 - 2020 is terrible l. They over season everything to hide there terrible quality they prepared it at. For instance you might get an entire onion on your burger or will get a chicken sandwich and it be doused in curry powder. Irish food is good...isn't that an oxymoron? Not at the auld dubliner, we stopped in for apres ski drinks and appetizers and made it a meal. We started with the Irish bread, and brown bread- both spot on delicious, we moved onto the corn beef sliders which were out of this world, a meal in themselves, 3 small burger sized corn beef sandwiches with colman's mustard and wilted cabbage, may not sound great but they were TDF! Then we tried the quesadillas stuffed with spinach and mushrooms and a side of tomato salad, and cabbage topping-again scrumptious. Finally the sausage rolls with the british equivalent of A1 sauce and washed it all down with a round of guinness. No need for dinner after that, and the service was great. read more

Had Sunday breakfast with my son. He had a breakfast burger and I had the huevos rancheros. His burger arrived minus the bacon and cheese listed, and was DRY (overdone). My huevos came with a rubber fried egg and generally pretty poor. Add to this the glass for my OJ was all lipstick (we are talking major lip smack). I have eaten lunch here and it was okay. This was just a very bad experience. and BTW - as a sports bar it needs new larger TVs and more TVs. read more

This place is the bomb! Good food! Good drinks and they even pour Guinness the correct way! I've seen some really good music here like Karl Denson and the vibe is super fun after a long day on the slopes. The bartender Rachel is super! The food comes in generous portions. The touch tunes selection is super good with lots of awesome 90's music (even though some guy put in a $20 before me and chose terrible music). I visited this charming little pub for dinner during my first night's stay at Squaw Valley Lodge. My husband and I wanted to attempt to brave through the rain and walk there, but when the rain started pounding our faces, we chickened out and drive the .2 miles (if that) to get there. Since we were visiting off-season, the place was pretty slow. The bartender doubled as our waiter and was nice. We ordered the curry fries (I smelled the curry when I walked in and HAD to give it a try). I really enjoyed it - never thought to put fries and curry together - it's genius! My husband had to give it a few tries before it eventually grew on him. I ordered the shepherd's pie; on a cold, rainy night, it sounded like the perfect comfort food. My husband ordered a veggie pub burger. We polished off the appetizer of fries when the bartender came over to us to ask what we'd ordered because he'd forgotten! I guess that's what happens when you don't write things down... No biggie, it was more amusing than anything. The shepherd's pie had a nice slightly crusty layer of mashed potatoes on top which I really enjoyed. The filling was beef and lamb with the usual veggies and gravy. It was good, not great - I just don't think I'm a huge fan of lamb. The side of veggies that came with it were good, though a little on the oily side. The freshness of the veggies was great though; the green beans and various summer squashes had a slight crunch to them and the carrots were cooked perfectly (not mushy but not crunchy). When we were done eating and paying our bill, my husband noticed that the total on the itemized bill didn't match the credit card receipt. They had punched in the total from someone else's bill (a higher amount!) for our credit card transaction. The bartender was quick to fix it when we took it up to the bar to have it looked at, but thank goodness my husband is far more attentive than I would have been, because I wouldn't have noticed! Overall, a nice place to drop in. I can see it being a fun, packed place to be during peak season. Our company threw a karaoke night here during our ski trip. The awesomeness of the open bar led to my taking off my shirt while singing "Hit Me Baby One More Time." During regular hours, they also serve food. Before departing Tahoe, I came with some co-workers to chill for a bit. I tried hot toddy for the first time in my life, and thought it was disgusting. Then I was told to stir it up, and that made it slightly less deplorable. The spicy potato balls were tasty (I'm sure there's a joke in there somewhere). The buffalo wings were alright, but I think the Fireside pizza place has better. The sausage rolls were a little sweet, and the potato skins were decent, too. Overall, it's just decent/solid bar food. The service was reliable and friendly! read more

Only had corned beef items (tacos, sliders, rolls) and wings. Just in the Tahoe area for the 4th of July weekend. Stopped by this place on our last night out to avoid traffic the next day on our way back home. The Good: 1. Self seating during the day 2. Outdoor seating (it's a small little shopping village so this should go without saying) 3. The corned beef - lucked out on this one, really good. Glad we went this route. 4. Variety of "Irish" food throughout menu. The Okay: 1. Service - nice, attentive when checked on... sometimes that could be awhile 2. The food - this is somewhere between good and okay, will expand on food later. 3. The drink menu - expected a bit more from them in terms of selection though their selection was solid and had no gripes. The Food: 1. Corned Beef Sliders - corned beef was really tasty (4/5 stars), wasn't a fan of the hawaiian style rolls. 2. Corned Beef Tacos - again corned beef really tasty, other topping complemented. Needed more beef (3.5/5) 3. Wings - solid wings, not great, not bad. Very tender (3.75/5) 4. Cabbage Roll (corned beef) - my favorite. Cabbage with cooked right, i guess could have used a bit more uph regarding flavor but really enjoyed this (4.25/5) Would def be back if I happened to want to stay in Squaw vs Tahoe, which may never really happen but I was a nice experience. read more

I've sample quite a few Irish pubs in my time - so I feel somewhat qualified to comment on this place. Loud - we managed to get seated as far from the band as we could, but it was still loud - and when the band were taking a break, still loud - lots of shouting to hear each other - and there were only 5 of us. Dark - I've experienced candle lit places that were brighter. The above two things could easily be explained away by me being an old git - the food however could not. We all had different selections - I went with the Shepperd's Pie - it looked great on the plate, but the mash on top had a layer of undercooked sliced potatoes buried with in it, and the pie filling (a mixture of beef and lamb according to the menu) had lots of veggies in it and was fairly bland - I don't think you can claim the altitude as an excuse. Thankfully they had HP sauce on hand to liven it up a bit. The veggies on the side were massive pieces of grilled vegetables that were rather dry too. Beer selection was decent, service was OK, and the prices were high - but as we're in Squaw Valley, you can expect the latter. Good food could have easily overcome the other issues I had with this place, but it didn't. read more

I was so optimistic about this place because it was affordable (comparatively), and I was really looking forward to eating something tasty after an all day hike... We tried the corned beef and cabbage, and the pork chop dishes. The meat of both dishes were so dry we had to ask the waiter to leave the pitcher of water so that we could finish our meal. We should've known better -- it is a high tourist area so restaurants like these have no need to actually cook decent to well food. p.s. when I shared with the waiter how dry the dishes were instead of accomodating us in any way he proceeded to defend himself by saying "well I put in the order for medium rare..." and then walked away. I had to say to myself and partner, "Wow, really, is this guy serious?" Boo, two thumbs down for Auld Dubliner. I could have made better and I know nothing about Irish food. read more

Not a chance I'm coming to Squaw Valley and not coming here. Excellent service and excellent food. I was dehydrated from skiing all day and asked for the largest glass of water possibly. He brought me a pitcher. Most places won't bring a pitcher, they want to waste their time coming back and filling up my glass. I like the pitcher. My wife and I were hungry, but didn't want to stuff our faces so we split the Spinach & Artichoke Dip and the French Dip w/Fries. Huge pieces of artichoke in the dip. My only problem with the dip is there were also big slices of water chestnut. It's a surprise when you think you're biting into an artichoke and you get the water chestnut instead. The chips that came with the dip were very good. No Tostitos here. The French dip was big and the Au Jus wasn't too salty. The fries were tasty. I'm coming back. read more

A fun place to grab good food at the Village at Squaw. We stayed for 4 days and went by every day either for a drink or lunch or late night stop. I came here for a snack and a beer in the middle of the day on a non-snowy, not-cold Saturday. The bar was actually crowded compared with how the rest of Squaw looked. And when I say "the bar was crowded" I mean, there were only three seats left open at the bar. But if you actually wanted to sit down at a table, you pretty had the entire choice of a restaurant. They have a brilliant selection of beer and awesome Guinness paraphelia everywhere. The place is decorated beautifully, like a traditional Irish pub. I grabbed my Guinness (sometimes you just have the hankering for your favorite drink) and ordered the curry fries, ahi tacos and baked potato. The food came out fairly quick (I guess that happens when not many people are ordering food). I really liked the baked potatoes, the ahi tacos were really good, but were missing something, maybe more salsa. The curry "chips" were not what I was expecting. I never did figure out the seasoning, but it was a combination of a salty and sweet flavor and the curry was a golden Japanese curry. I enjoyed a few pieces, but it was one of those flavors that just got old after a minute. When I'm back in Squaw and there's enough snow to ski, I'll be sure to work my butt off all day and then visit the Auld Dubliner for a nice cold beer. read more

Was in for NYE with a group après Snowboarding- Quite a cozy refuge from the bitter chill of Squaw Valley. Had good service from the bar while waiting for our table, the place seems well run and was staffed up properly. Had the Chicken "Boxty" which was a "potato Crepe" filled with a thickish Béchamel sauce with particulate of chicken. Was advertised to have Thyme, among other flavors which I could not detect. It was not bad, just not what I expected. Could not finish it. Other member of our party had Corned beef & Cabbage, which was really good, but was a tad dry (no broth), another had the Shepherd's pie, which was pretty good. All in all a solid place to get your Irish on. read more

I liked the atmosphere... it's a Pub & Restaurant - so it's what you'd expect. The waiter was awesome, great service, super friendly, never pushy, always helpful. The food was fine - nothing out of this world, but I wouldn't turn my nose up at it at all! Fish & Chips dinner was huge - pretty thick batter, for my taste - but you can peel it off. Fish was good! Those Irish Won Tons are pretty epic. Think of Irish Sausage Rolls... but in a won ton rather than puff pastry. With a sweet & sour chili sauce. Yum! They make a mean Irish Coffee... Just when I was starting to think that restaurants in Tahoe lacked service and taste, the Auld Dubliner blew me away! I probably never would have come to this place, but Restaurant.com had a pretty sweet deal on a $25 gift certificate and I had a hungry uncle in town, so we opted to make the drive up to Squaw Valley and try it out. We were seated promptly, no problem. Our waitress (was her name Kelly?) was UBER friendly. Smiled constantly and made great recommendations. I wanted to try the Irish Cider, but I guess the keg was out of tap, so I settled on a Mirror Pond (so Irish, I know). We ordered the jacket potatoes for an appetizer. I wish the menu had mentioned the bacon (as two of us don't really eat meat outside of fish), but we didn't care too much and just scraped it off. They were great! Melted cheese in a perfectly-baked potato fry with delicious ranch dressing. For our meals, we got the fish sandwich, fish and chips, and the salmon boxty. Let me tell you: that salmon boxty BLEW. ME. AWAY. So rich, so beautifully presented - SO SO TASTY! The veggies were steamed and seasoned to perfection and everything was coated in the right amount of sauce (was it a curry?). I've never heard of boxty, even when I was in Ireland, but I trust that it's dead-on with whatever authenticism they are going for. My fish-n-chips were equally as good - crispy, not soggy - and the fries were great! The homemade tartar sauce has the right balance of lemon-juice and seasonings. It's probably the best tartar sauce I've ever had, actually. My uncle seemed to enjoy his sandwich, as well. Our waits for anything were non-existent and the staff was very courteous. After paying the bill, the waitress made a point to tell my boyfriend and I about local's night on Monday nights (apparently the menu is half-off on all food!), so I know they'll be seeing us again, soon. The food is too good to stay away. All-in-all, the bill (before tip and before our gift certificate) was $60. That's not bad for two beers, a soda, an appetizer, and three entrees. Also, since it's good to note, they had a pretty impressive selection of Irish whiskey. We weren't feeling that alcoholic, so I can't vouch for it, but the menu boasts a variety. read more

After a day of hard skiiing or boarding (or drinking hot cocoa and watching others do the previous)... this is a great place to unwind. The curry fries are delish, and my fish & chips were super yummy. (The fish is battered in beer... can't go wrong!) My boyfriend's corned beef & cabbage was also good, but not as yummy as my fatty meal. The evening was completed with entertainment, singer looked like a Berkeley transplant (an old hippie crooning fabulous 70's tunes... with a smattering of 80's for variety)... I HIGHLY recommend the specialty drinks... especially the "Nutty Irishman" ... a reinvented Irish Coffee and a perfect way to end any meal. The fish and chips are absolutely the best I've ever had, and I'm a fish and chip connoisseur. Big and fat pieces of cod, beer-battered, crispy crunchy and just the right amount of grease. My boyfriend's corned beef sandwich looked great, too. I wouldn't call the atmosphere kitschy, but I guess it's as kitschy as a place in Squaw Valley can get.
