Stopped in this afternoon for a late lunch early dinner. Place was very clean! My husband had the meatloaf with potato salad and fries. I had the rib eye sandwich with macaroni and cheese. Our food was delicious! My husband loved the meatloaf. He said it was very flavorful and tasted differently than any other meatloaf he's had. The fries were very well seasoned. The corn fritters were very good! The ribeye sandwich was very good. The meat was chopped and was very flavorful and savory. The Mac and cheese was really good. I didn't go in, but the outside is so cute, inviting you to their kitchen! Catfish delicious, breading NOT SALTY, you really taste the cat.. nice flavor of hot sauce, amazing coleslaw w/beautiful mayo/vinegar flavor, hush puppies bomb AF, almost like butter, mac and cheese, exactly like Grandma makes it... The greens are grown by there own hands, and were amazing! Tender w/a little bite, Not Glory greens! It's made to order, so you wait a few minutes, but well worth it! Fair price, large portion. This is a quick-service soul food restaurant. They just opened about 5 weeks ago, and there were a couple bumps in the ordering process, but everything else was amazing! It's a TINY lobby, with one high and 2 low 4-toppers. It's divey but new and clean. Counter service had a hiccup with the PoS system, but it all got sorted quickly. Food was served VERY quickly - I had the "A minor" ribeye sandwich. It was AMAZING! They also have a small selection of hot sauces, and I tried the Tabasco sweet & spicy, which added a great extra dose of flavor. Totally not needed, but just extra zing. The staff was very friendly, asking each customer his things were. I have high hopes for this place, and even though 4 miles is at the edge of my lunch range, I will definitely be back! read more

I really really wanted to give a good review on the food, since it's a local business. Deserve No Stars. This was missing all of the Soul from the Southern comfort dishes. I purchase to entrees. Catfish (fried toooo hard) ribs ( small and a little burnt), collard greens ( no flavor, need to cook longer) yams( watery and stringy)and Mac n cheese ( not baked)..AWFULLLLL!!!!, and it's a little pricey for the amount of food they give you. I wanted to try the restaurant before they close their doors for good, due to the owner managing other restaurants. The food has no love to it, maybe since they closing their business, they just don't care anymore. I had to throw it in the trash. Next time when I have a taste for Southern dishes, either I will cook myself or go to Chicago. This was a Bummer. read more

A very small place and somehow noisy. The catfish was very well done and delicious. The hot water cornbread balls were under seasoned. The seasoning on the French fries was oddly sweet, definitely wouldn't have those again. Fried cabbage was ok, but could have been cooked a little more. The tea was sweetened just right. I am super disappointed. I really wanted to favorite this place but I just couldn't. We ordered using Uber Eats since Aunt Tina's doesn't deliver to south Elmhurst. The "soul food split" with one meat, two sides and cornbread fritters contained generous portions. I took a bite right away of the cornbread fritter and was shocked at the sandy, dry texture. I guess that's why they sell sauces, I usually eat my fritters and hush puppies alone.Needless to say I didn't eat those. The grilled/blackened catfish was 2 meaty fillets. They were so extremely heavily seasoned that I had a hard time enjoying them. The cabbage also was highly seasoned mostly with pepper, and more crunchy that not. Lots of bacon pieces, good thing, it took away from the pepper that was blasting my mouth. The greens were spot on! Delicious! If I go back I will get the greens for sure. My husband liked his meatloaf a lot which had a glaze reminiscent of bbq sauce. He couldn't eat the cabbage as it was too spicy for him and he felt the green beans were just bland. The chess square was decent, like a gooey butter cake slice. I mean it was expensive because of the Uber Eats surcharges but even at Tina's Kitchen prices, not a great value for the few things we liked. read more

Very great dinner tonight picking up from Aunt Tina's! We ordered family meal with chicken tenders, pulled pork, fries, green beans and Mac and cheese. Everything was piping hot, well seasoned, and fresh! I would definitely return and get the same order, or try the ribeye sandwich which the owner mentioned is one of the fan favorites. There are a wide variety of options to choose from and I overheard they make their own sweet tea. I'm so glad this unique restaurant is now close by in Elmhurst! We always like to go to family owned restaurants. Aunt Tina's just opened recently and we thought we would give them a try. The moment we walked in we were greeted with a warm welcome. They have a lot of great food choices each unique in their own way. It is old time "comfort" food. I had the meatloaf sandwich and my wife had the ribeye sandwich both were served with fries which had very tasty seasoning. We've now been here twice and enjoyed our food on both occasions. The portions are generous and the food is delicious. The steak sandwich is superb. The seasoning mix on the breading for the chicken is so flavorful. Same for the fried green tomatoes - so tasty - a real treat. We've enjoyed everything we've tried and look forward to returning to try some more menu items. Also, you can purchase Chef Tony's seasoning blends at the restaurant. It's so good! This food truck opened a brick and mortar restaurant that doesn't disappoint. I've been there twice now since they have opened and have left happy both times. Can't wait to try it all! We could tell that quality ingredients and quality control are paramount here, hoping they are here for a long time to come. I first met Chef Tony and his wife at a cooking demo at a library. I had never heard of Aunt Tina's Kitchen before. At the event, Chef Tony asked everyone for their names. I didn't think much of it, however, both times I've now visited the restaurant, Chef Tony has remembered my name. Pretty cool. If you're looking for a place with incredible food and genuine warmth, Aunt Tina's Kitchen is it. The steak sandwich and chicken sandwich are my personal favorites. Just had to leave another review. We already are great fans of Aunt Tina's., but we brought some relatives visiting from Germany. They loved all the food and tried quite a few things. They liked the atmosphere. Thought the owners were so friendly and sweet. Made them feel like family. Southern comfort food is quite different from German food. But it was really a hit. I'm never disappointed when I bring friends here. Next on my list to try are a salad and the pudding. read more

Aunt Tina's Kitchen has delicious food. My wife loves catfish and it was terrific. We both ordered the soul food split, which includes a meat option and two side choices. Really wanted to like and support this business but I don't understand the reviews. I understand that they use spices but, I think it is too heavy handed. Steak sandwich was a bit off for my taste. The fries seemed sweet, so much so, that I asked if they were sweet potato fries. I can't remember what we ordered but was not impressed. Just went to this new restaurant during their soft opening. The staff was very helpful. The food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious. Our group had everything from ribs, Mac and cheese, cat fish, pulled pork and salad. We each had bites of each other's order. All items were tremendous. They have a some tables so we chose to stay and eat. Very clean and comfortable. Will definitely be back to explore more of the menu read more
