They are very respectful of your time If you need to grab something and go. While my wife and I tried desserts, we are looking forward to trying their bread made in house, that is nourishing instead of filled with ingredients that should not be. They offer a military/veteran rate and their hours are very accommodating

No offense to the national chains like Starbucks or Dunkin', but I had been looking for a locally owned shop to buy some bagels in the morning, and I think that I finally hit the mark! I got my typical order of one (1) sesame-seed bagel, and one (1) everything bagel, and they were absolutely excellent! I can't really describe how, but as soon as I bit into them, I could immediately tell that they were freshly and authentically made, and were such a nice contrast to the bagels that I've purchased from the aforementioned chain stores. Furthermore, the staff was so nice and kind, and they seemed genuinely personable and happy that I stopped in. Even though I only got my two (2) bagels, they also had a mouth-watering selection of croissants, muffins, pastries, sweets, etc. on full display in the front. Finally, they had a nice outdoor seating area, which was perfect for a beautiful spring day. All in all, South & Salt was amazing, I'll definitely be back in the future, and I'd recommend it to anybody looking for bagels, coffee, or other bakery items!

We made the stop after taking a tour of the state capitol - which we also highly recommend! The place is huge with ample seating inside and out. And the setting? It couldn't be better! Especially for anyone who likes airports, airplanes, old buildings, trains, or just unique locations. The food... we ordered the Garlic Knots, Mediterranean Pizza, and a Pepperoni Pizza, and were not disappointed. The Garlic Knots - freshly made, good quality dough. We almost went back and ordered a second order of 'em. The pizzas? We loved them! My son said the bottom could've been a little bit crisper, but otherwise, the quality of the ingredients was good, and both tasted great. The Brews... we enjoyed two flights, not bad overall. Our favorite one out of the bunch was the ESB. It's their Red Ale, and it was a good one! The raspberry sour was also a pretty good drink. The other brews, not bad, but also not the best we've had. Overall, a great place to stop when visiting the city, and it's a great place for friends, families, old and young. I would gladly stop in again if I'm ever in the area.

We enjoyed some great beers and there is something for all types of beer preferences as well. They also have some wines available if you are not a beer person. The garlic knots were delicious with a honey garlic butter that elevated what I dreamed of. The pizza was delicious and not overwhelmed with sauce which I enjoyed. Service was friendly and quick! We will definitely come back next time we are in town.

Interesting that the food is ordered from the bar and you have to pick it up at the "food truck" in the beer garden. Just be aware. The beer garden is well organized and a great space. Plenty of tables and space to enjoy your evening. More activities and spaces to enjoy here. Definitely a place that will succeed. The staff was very professional, welcoming and warm. Definitely worth a visit, or three.

I also like…read moresharing my experience with others with food allergies to help them know if it's a good option. For someone who cannot eat wheat, there were not many safe options. Even the BBQ sauce contained wheat. I was still able to have a few things, but overall, the options were limited. The band was very loud at first, but they did turn it down slightly, which helped a lot. We originally went expecting an afterparty connected to an event I participated in earlier that morning. I've been to afterparties before, and they are usually in a clearly designated, blocked-off area for participants and sometimes families. When we arrived, there were actually three different events happening, which is great--but it made things confusing. Parking was also difficult, and there were no accessible parking spots available at the time since all three were taken. The venue itself has a main restaurant, outdoor seating, a food ordering area, and a separate bar. There was a sign pointing toward another building connected to the restaurant that mentioned the morning event I attended, so we followed it. However, something didn't feel right. When I asked staff for clarification, they weren't sure whether the area was for runners/participants or only for company staff. About 20 minutes later, we learned it was actually only for staff. The signage was very misleading, and I wasn't the only one confused. Even the front staff seemed unsure of what was going on, which made things more frustrating. The event coordinator wasn't available, so it felt like communication was lacking across the board. In the end, we still got our food and drinks and had a good time, but it was a confusing experience overall. I do feel for the staff who were put in a difficult position without clear information. Clearer signage would have helped a lot--for example, specifying the company name and clearly stating whether the area was for employees only or open to participants from the event that morning. Better communication in the event emails would also have made expectations much clearer about what was open to the public versus staff only from the start. Overall, it is still a nice place to hang out and enjoy food and live music, but the event setup and communication definitely need more clarity.
