This Auntie Anne's is located in the Irvine Spectrum in the same part where the Barnes and Noble is. At the time they were out of (or unable to serve due to machine problems) the frozen lemonade specified on the window so my friend just used a buy one get one free offer from a coupon. (I decided to get that frozen lemonade at a different branch, and I felt there wasn't enough liquid for the purposes of quenching thirst but it tasted good). The pretzels we received were warm since it was made to order and they tasted pretty good. It is within range of the fountain PokéStop, but not within range of the gyms. One has to walk over. Auntie Anne's is a pretzel concept that's is a large chain mostly found in malls. This one specifically is in the Irvine Spectrum Center. I like coming to Auntie Anne's when I am craving a snack while shopping. My favorite item here is the pepperoni pretzel with cheese dip. They have several dips too but they aren't the greatest. It is a bit too salty. I wish they had nacho cheese dip lol They also have dessert pretzels too which are delicious. They have drinks as well such as slushee lemonades, flavored lemonades, and sodas. My favorite drink here is the strawberry lemonade. The customer service here isn't bad. They are pretty friendly. It is usually quick to get your food as it's being made constantly, however, if your item isn't available it takes about 10 minutes to get it. Went this morning around 1:30 to grab pretzels. Ordered a sour cream and onion and a pepperoni. Pepperoni tasted fine, sour cream and onion tasted awful. There was a heavy baking soda bitterness on the entire back of the pretzel, and upon trying to call back after leaving the mall, no one answered any of the calls I placed trying to let them know that possibly the entire batch of was bad. Let us just chalk the following up to what I am now calling the "Chief Factor": I was walking my dog around the Irvine Spectrum today and decided to have an order of pretzel sticks from Auntie Anne's. I left my four-legged friend just outside the entrance while I ordered my sticks and cheese sauce. The staff and owner asked questions about Chief, I think they were amazed how well behaved he was as he sat and waited without being tied up. I received my order and went to one of the tables nearby to eat. The sticks were fresh, delicious and shared (yup I feed my dog pretzels). Where this turns from a good experience to a great experience is when the owner brought out a pretzel dog for Chief free of charge. Chief was gracious enough to share half his pretzel dog with me. Like the sticks, it was fresh and delicious. Defintely two paws up! read more

The pretzels are really good, but the dipping sauces seem like a rip off. We didn't get any, but people ordering before us did, and they charge $.85 for a teeny-tiny cup about the size of the salsa cups at El Pollo Loco. One woman was handed the dipping sauce, and her response was "that's it?" I really like this Auntie Anne's location. The pretzels (the cinnamon sugar is my favorite) are really warm, soft, and delicious here, but there's a bonus - the service is great here too! Taking a break from my shopping at Irvine Spectrum, I stopped at Auntie Anne's. When I commented about bringing my son here later for pretzels and ice skating across the way, the employee smiled and handed me a couple of coupons for our next visit here. I thought this was very thoughtful! I don't usually get this kind of service at other Auntie Anne's locations, but I so impressed with both the pretzels and service here. I've been going to Auntie Anne's since I remember. They're always at the malls! So anyway - This one's located semi-across from Macy's. Small little place, the line will go out the door (if there is one). Good little snack. They didn't have sour cream & onion when I was there though. I feel like Auntie Anne's has slowly lost its quality of pretzels. Got an almond pretzel and the bottom was burnt - meh. I gotta say... Wetzel's Pretzels make fluffier pretzels. Food/Drinks: When I go to any of these types of pretzel places I always get the cinnamon bites. I have been here quite a few times, and each time their bites are really good. If you come during peak hours the chances of you getting fresh pretzels are high. I have experienced both peak hours and slow. During peak hours they are mostly always going to be hot, fresh, and perfectly sugared. Coming during slower hours chances of getting pretzels that have been in the case for awhile are high. Typically when they have been sitting the dough is not as soft, and it is not as sugary. Either way they are still satisfying and having fresh hot food is just a first world problem to be honest. Interior: It is very small inside. There is the registrar to order, pay, and grab your food. Then to your left there is the condiment island of napkins, straws, and all that stuff. To the left is potentially just a waiting area if you need to wait for your food or drinks. Other than that there is no room to sit or stand around. It is more likely to be clean during slow hours compared to peak hours, but most of the time I noticed that is due to the customers and not the business themselves. Exterior: Usually the line is outside when there is more than 3-4 customers. Being at the Spectrum shopping center there are seats all around to sit. Environment: of the 4 times I have came there was always kind and enthusiastic workers. One lady have sprinkled extra cinnamon onto the pretzel bites for me. Another was a teenage male who was getting ready to close, and he was very friendly. I dropped a quarter between the counter and the food case, and rather than ignoring it (which I said it was okay) he insisted to give me another quarter. Overall the workers are always smiling and welcoming. Overall: whether you get fresh or sitting food the pretzels are always good. Even when in the case the items are still at least slightly warmed. The service is very welcoming. It is just an order, pay, pick up, and leave process since there is no room. As long as the customers keep the island clean there is no problem with cleanliness! read more

Secondly, when she said she had to make the cinnamon sugar pretzel she acted like it was a long drawn out process so I decided to buy the ready made bites. Well apparently in her disgust she didn't hear that and started making the big one. After I told her I was trying to make it easy on her she continued to make them totally dropping them in the pan and making them like it was a chore. This is based on service for their lemonade mixers. I went into this location with my family and asked for smalls for all 4 of my drinks. After getting rung up at the cashier I noticed getting charged for mediums. I told them "these are the smalls right"? The lady tells me "oh there are no small sizes for the mixers". What?! Never ever stop by THIS AUNTIE ANNES! They have horrible pretzels, with low quality. They are so unsanitary, not using any gloves while making their pretzels and giving them to customers without gloves. The counter top was so dirty and they placed my pretzel on there. First I was impressed to see the young workers actually working hard, making pretzels, rotating product and cleaning the entire time I was there. This is actually a tough review for me. I think in general all locations pretzels are far superior to Wetzel's. I'm always amazed at people who like Wetzel's better. But different strokes for different folks! Whoever owns this particular location, I think it is a Korean man, is unhelpful, unfriendly and basically bordering on rude. He might have his children or other family working there and it always seems like they are under pressure to work, work, work, but that doesn't include good customer service. There is unfortunately a feeling of sadness about the place, as if they are chained back there. I've also had problems at various times due to old and slightly cold and starting to harden pretzels or pretzel sticks. The only reason I keep going back is when they are fresh and hot, in my opinion they are 4+ star. However, I don't take no guff from no one! If my pretzel is not fresh and hot, it goes back and I leave. I'm not waiting the 10 or 15 minutes I'm quoted for new ones. read more
