It may surprise some to know how many times I've hung out in Pittsburgh in the last 16 years or so,…read morebecause I've never been to a Primanti Bros. before. But then again, I am vegetarian, so I didn't think they offered anything for me. I've looked at the menu online more than once, and didn't see any sandwiches designated vegetarian each time. But I was meeting a friend before a concert on the RMU campus, and this was conveniently located 1 mile away, and it had food and beer. I kept an open mind and figured, I'll just modify one of their sandwiches. When I arrived, I learned they also have a pizza option. But I still thought... when in Rome... There was a black bean option listed on their wall menu, but the waitress double-checked for me and we learned together that they use to offer that option, but no longer do. Damn. There was however a cheese (no meat) option on the menu, which I was surprised wasn't on the online menu. But I'll take it! Their sandwiches are interesting in that instead of sides of french fries and cole slaw, the sides are just stacked into the sandwich to make it a quick easy convenient meal! The draft beer selection was good, the sandwich was decent enough, and the service was great (weekday evening). In the end, I am not sure I'd run back for my one sandwich menu option, maybe I'd try their pizza, or go for some sides, or just stop in for a beer on my way to my next show. I enjoyed the vibe and most everthing about the place, but the sandwich was just okay.

I just was not thrilled. You definitely have to expect a weird experience if you want to enjoy the food here. I also ordered a slice of cheese pizza just in case I didn't like the sandwich. Unfortunately I didn't like the pizza even more. Lol. Live and learn. I still get three stars because there were totally nothing wrong with the Pitts-burger except I didn't like it. The pizza was not good though. The customer service was pretty decent though. So pops for that.

While I had no problem getting to the terminal, I arrived 3-1/2 hours before my flight. Not only did I have an espresso martini at 5AM at the appropriately named Martini (review: https://yelp.to/FLBmD_s2iS) but I decided to have breakfast here because frankly it was the one spot that was open earlier than the other airport eateries. I ordered a much needed $2 Coffee (Photo 2) and the $14.88 Western Omelette (Photo 4). First things first, I noticed only later that I was charged four dollars more without any explanation on the receipt. I should have noticed, but did I mention I already downed an espresso martini? The eggs were strangely overcooked with a paucity of ham and a strange texture to the cheddar cheese. Why didn't I rate it one star? The two slices of Italian toast and the crispy home fries improved the dish. Marginally. FOOD - 2 stars...not what I was hoping for AMBIANCE - 2 stars...just an airport space SERVICE - 1 star...was it a mistake or a nefarious act?...check your receipt before you sit down! TOTAL - 2 stars...very pricey for the level of quality or lack thereof RELATED - Exploring Pittsburgh? Here's a collection of places I've visited and reviewed: https://yelp.to/ErIIhZsER0

OK. In fairness, I did lookup whether lettuce belonged on a traditional gyro and it does NOT. Fair enuff because there was a wee bit of lettuce, and, by wee bit, I mean traces, not even a 1/16th of a leaf. So, before I complained here about a lack of lettuce, I wanted to be sure of the intention. Soo, fine. But, still, it wasn't a sandwich worthy of a place saying they do Greek fare. I've had way better at Orthodix Greek church festivals.

We were coming home from the Pittsburgh Airport and the convenience of the Robinson area is unmatched. Luckily my wife thought of Piada and well... now it may be our airport trip go to! The fresh ingredients, the made to order meat options, and the efficiency of the handcrafted food... Piada is what all other "fast" foods wish they could be! We both ordered an Avocado Rolled Piada with Crispy Chicken and fountain drinks. I tacked on a Spinach Artichoke Piada Stick as well. The process of watching them create the rolled piadas is artistry. The dash of oil and spices, the attention to spread out the toppings instead of just dumping them in the middle, my wife even asked for less tomatoes from the corn mixture... and the employee did the best to separate them out. The food is AMAZING!! The toppings were all fresh and crisp, the chicken was juicy and hot, and the piada was perfectly constructed. The new Spinach Artichoke was like having a constructed spinach artichoke dip. No need to dip though... just take a bite of this delicious wrap! Even the fountain drinks were a pleasant surprise with multiple fresh brewed teas to select! The store is very modern and clean with cute Italian Street decor and plenty of options to sit from bar tops, regular tables, high top tables! They really aim to make the dine in experience worth your while too!

I will definitely be trying again as they have a solid menu. I loved the chopped salad with avocado and grilled chicken plus loaded with all kinds of goodies. The dressing was amazing. The salad was one of the best chopped salads I've eaten. The portion for a large is more than enough as I knew this would be my dinner as well. Service was great and they were busy. I enjoyed the perfect mix of dressing on the salad. Also ordered some of rhe bread sticks which everyone enjoyed.
