The 1 star is pretty much entirely for the service.. We've eaten here several times over the last few years. It's a convenient location, but service here is not great. When we arrived early for dinner to pretty empty restaurant, the hostess was visibly annoyed when we asked if one of the TVs could be switched to a Christmas NBA game. Our server was not great. When we asked for crayons for the kids menu, he immediately said "That's going to be tough, they're usually not around". There weren't any available. How is this ok at a hotel that caters to families? Not a great way ti make kids feel valued and welcome. My napkin was visibly dirty and it took a minute to get another one. As a public health nurse, I was really bothered by this. Cleanliness is huge. Our food was good, but the service killed the five sadly. They would greatly benefit from customer service classes given our experience and others noted in the reviews. $150 for this dining experience? In stark contrast, the service at neighboring spots like Nanea's Inu Pool Bar and Mauka Mokai restaurants have been consistently wonderful. I don't understand why there is such a disparity between these Westin properties. When you're paying $2,000 a night for a resort, this should not be the service you receive. read more

The food is pretty good, but not great. We had the pork quesadillas & beef ribs. Both are worth having again. Service was ok, even though they seemed to be overstaffed. Wine is marginal and overpriced. For some reason, Marriott seems to think all their Maui restaurants need to be sports bars. They could have a really nice lanai here if they tried. This review is just for drinks, but the classic mai tai from here was great! They give it to you in a to-go cup so you can walk around the hotel pool area, which is pretty with a little koi pond and garden. We walked straight to the bar and didn't have to wait at all. The mai tai was tasty and strong, but not overdone. The bartender was super nice and gave us an extra splash of rum when I accidentally spilled some of mine. read more

We've been in Maui for a week and ate out a lot. This morning we tried Aunties and ordered their special prime rib and eggs. Although it's a thinner slice it was plenty to share between two of us! It's the best meal we've had all week!! Very flavorful!! We also shared the açaí bowl with Hawaiian granola. Off the charts crazy good!!! And our server was Bon and he was so warm and friendly, which made our experience even better. Lovely hostess there too, wish I'd caught her name. I think it's important to recognize great employees! Very convenient for carry out when we were staying at the Westin Timeshare Villas on Maui. Food and service was very good.

Amazing food and great service. I had the prime rib which was done perfectly. My husband had the mahi-mahi which he said was delicious.

The only good thing about this restaurant is Kristen. The only one to have great customer service. The other employees couldn't care less about the guests. We have stayed at the Westin multiple times and have come to this restaurant countless times; through the menu changes and all. I would recommend ordering ahead and picking up to eat in your room or outside anywhere! read more

This is a poolside restaurant. Not what I was expecting when I was searching for a place that still sold poke on the island at 2pm on a Sunday (this was the 4th place we tried!). They did technically have poke, but it was premixed and $21/pp for a rather unexciting batch. We got it anyway, but if I had been cruising up from the pool looking at their menu this would not have been my first choice. The staff were very friendly and nice, and got us taken care of pretty quickly. I also took the opportunity to have a frozen adult beverage I saw some others nearby enjoying. I can't remember the name exactly, but it had Monkey in it (ChocoMonkey? Drunken Monkey? Something). It had Kahlua, banana, coconut, chocolate, and more, and it was delicious. Definitely recommend that one, and I bet it would taste even better poolside! read more

Auntie's was the closest poolside bar/sit down spot to us so this was our main stop most of the trip. Auntie's in my own personal opinion has a little more elevated menu than other bars along the way. More pork quesadillas and seafood options, which if you like all the more power to you. Drinks are pretty basic and are drastically different depending on who makes it. Some days it would be more watered down than others or they would pour heavy on the drink mixes making the consistency a little off. One huge plus of this spot was using the QR codes around the pool at the cabanas and sun shades to mobile order and have it delivered to your spot but I don't know if we just ordered at a busy time of day because it took almost an hour for ours to arrive. Overall Auntie's was an okay spot for us on our trip. Nothing to rave about but the bartenders were always friendly, it's a good spot to go to if you just want something close to the resort. read more

Auntie's Kitchen is a good spot for lunch and we enjoy lunch there about once a week when we're staying at the Westin Villas. The outdoor setting near the pool is shaded and spacious, and the menu contains several delicious options. My two favorites are the Kalua Pork Quesadilla and the Stack Wagyu Burger. The staff here are exceptionally friendly and cheerful and we always enjoy chatting with them while we are there. read more

Well can't beat the location and the service was actually on point. The trouble isn't so much that the food is bad it's just that it's not exactly great. The views make it worthwhile but the lack of flavor with the food sinks the whole experience. I get it it's only a hotel so how much taste can one expect. The issue is the cost to flavor balance to churn out limited value. Again, it's akin to getting a hot dog at Costco. Ok flavor but has bang for your buck! This has meh flavor and you are paying a premium for something that Panda Express hits out of the park. If you're just looking to chill with an appetizer and a brew then this is the place for you. If you're looking for lunch with the family and want to have a great experience then you might look for something that offers a bit more. read more

A restaurant with spotty service, ok food depending on what you order, in the middle of a beautiful resort. I ordered the eggs Benedict. It turns another gentleman had the same problem trying to cut it that I did. I stabbed it with my fork in my attempt to hold it still to cut the muffin. The muffin was hard, along with the skin left on the ham, making it tough to cut. I did mention the eggs bebedict being tough to the manager. His question to me, what would you lile me to do? And How should the eggs benedict be cooked? Our server was took our order and we didn't see him again till he was dropping off the check. Breakfast buffet not worth $30. If you are a hotel guest you can choose to waive your daily housekeeping for a restaurant buffet voucher. The food is sitting in chafing dishes. On the day we visited potatoes wedges, eggs (plain and one with cheese and salsa), bacon, sausage and biscuits and gravy. There is a separate area with bagels and lox. And a sad fruit and yogurt display, with three pastry options and a random pancake chafing dish in the middle. The website advertises açaí bowl station- none in sight. Food coming out from the kitchen looks far superior. I would definitely order the breakfast loco moco. With a full kitchen inside your unit, why waste money on an overpriced hotel restaurant? read more

Food was overpriced and mediocre. The fish sandwich is mostly bread (ciabatta) with very little amount of tasteless grilled fish; comes with potato chips $28. A side of cold undesirable fries $12. The service was very slow. The ambiance is the only thing this pool side bar and restaurant has going for them. I will not go there again and don't recommend it for food. I didn't have any alcoholic beverage, so I can't comment on the alcohol. read more

Auntie's Kitchen was great! The food was really good. Usually on-site restaurants can be average but Auntie's Kitchen was better than that. We had breakfast and lunch there a few times this trip and each meal we got great, friendly service and everyone liked their food. We ordered loco moco, pancakes, the Kaanapali breakfast, and had lots of coffee for breakfasts. Lunch was burgers, salads, sandwiches, and the noodle dish, all good dishes! The view from the restaurant is pretty and the covered patio allowed for the breeze to come through without the heat. Tables and chairs were all big with plenty of space to move about. They were able to accommodate our large (6-8 people) party each time without issue. If you're debating about trying Auntie's Kitchen, go ahead and give them a try! They'll treat you well and you'll leave plenty full. read more

Absolutely amazing breakfasts! Came here last October and the breakfasts were delicious. Here again for another magical Maui vacation so we decided to dine here again. Same restaurant and same delicious breakfast! Got the breakfast burrito which is huge and packed full of eggs, cheese and meat of your choice. We also got a side of pancakes which has 2 huge pancakes (no photo as the kids devoured it). These have to be some of the tastiest and fluffiest pancakes we have ever gotten. Again, same as they were in October so consistently is very evident. Lastly we got the two egg breakfast which was a very generous portion size, 2 eggs, toast, bacon and a ton of potatoes. Service was great, everyone was super friendly and the view is second to none. We absolutely love eating breakfast here and will continue to do so on our trips to Maui. read more

IMHO Auntie's Kitchen is located within the Westin KOR Villas, where we always stay when we're in Maui. In planning and researching for my latest vacation here, I discovered that on Wednesday nights, Auntie's Kitchen offers a Kona Lobster Boil for $40. Know that I am NOT a lobster fan, but my husband and our guests are, so I immediately made an Open Table reservation for the four of us on the only Wednesday of our stay. As expected, there were three orders of the Kona Lobster Boil, and I ordered Uncle's prime rib dinner! The Lobster Boil bowl is filled with lobster, clams, shrimp, potato, corn on the cob, Portuguese sausage, local pineapple wine spicy butter sauce, plus a choice of spinach or kale salad. My 14 oz. prime rib (Maui herb rub, creamy horseradish, natural jus) entrée came with a side of (very) spicy black bean broccoli, and macaroni salad. It was very quiet at our table, as the lobster diners took their jobs seriously and meticulously ate through their meal. I doubt that I ate more than 3 oz. of my massive prime rib and the rest became leftovers for another villa-cooked meal. We were so full that there was no room for dessert. Yes we all left happy and satisfied! Bonus for us that the restaurant is on-property as we waddled back to our rooms! read more

With all the great restaurants here on Maui, we were definitely here for the convenience. Located poolside at the Westin Ka'anapali, it was an easy pick for a late dinner after flying in earlier in the day. Food was ok. Beef dip was pretty good. Pass on the poke nachos. The ahi Tuna was good, but the guacamole was grainy and gross. Saimin noodles were okay. Service was okay. Overall, mediocre food for $$$. read more

Breakfast is ok, I'd say skip the buffet and check out Dukes's about a half a mile away. I did get the Loco Moco and it was good however and I appreciated that it came with fried rice. If you're looking for something mid-day, order the Turkey Club. This was so effing good I want another as I write this. It was on sweet Hawaiian bread with bacon and spam (don't judge). $16 and came with macaroni salad. My husband and I shared this and it was so surprisingly delish. I wanna re-create it when I get home but will probably back out and just salivate thinking about the one at Auntie's. 3 stars just because it's a-ok for ambiance/variety and HH was a joke (25% off apps that are already hotel priced, i.e. inflated). read more

The first thing to mention is how kind and gracious the staff are! They made my visits stand out. I came by twice during my stay, as one of the on-site restaurants the convenience was unmatched. For breakfast I enjoyed the loco moco, so filling and flavorful! Another day I had lunch and went with the daily special which was garlic shrimp, so ono and plenty of garlicky buttery sauce. The restaurant is open air so it's very comfortable with the shade and trade winds. The view is lovely, it looks out over the pool and gardens. Server was very nice BUT not attentive at all. If you eat early you do not need reservations. My meal was good, short ribs, on the tougher side but flavor was decent, the rest of the family had food that was bland. Really not a fan of this place, basically a pool bar, very underwhelmed for being on site at the Westin, had pool goers walking right in between tables, while we were eating, dodging tubes and towels, who in their right mind thinks that's a good idea, nothing gets done about it. It can be really good then not great but I don't always expect a pool bar restaurant to be great food so it's expectable in my book. The staff is great. This review is likely the result of covid restrictions, however, this is a very basic spot. Spent 10 days here and basically got one of everything on the menu. Cesar wrap is essentially something you could get from the grocery store (they are pre-made), chicken tenders only come with three/no sides and they are very greasy, carne asada fries are pretty dry. Best purchase was probably the Ahi poke bowl- but to reiterate, could have only been because it was the only fresh item on the menu due to covid restrictions, and this is nothing to punish the hotel about. read more

Came here for breakfast. Located at the Westin (south side) Wish I could give this place more stars but I just can't... 1. Service- service was "ok" at best. Entered the restaurant and we were sorted right away. The waitress (I forgot her name.. it started with an A...) approached us and took our drink orders right away. When she came back with our drinks she took our food orders. We received our food. And that's where the service stopped. In the middle of our meal we were asked once how was our meal and that was it. No refills on our water and I had to ask for more coffee. 2. Food was 1 Star- I ordered the Kaanapali beach breakfast. Eh... And for $18 I thought it was a total rip off.. this meal came with 2 eggs, potatoes, 1 piece of toast, and 4 pieces of spam (you have a choice of spam, Portuguese sausage, or pork belly). Eggs did not appear fresh. Toast was not toasted at all... the best part were the potatoes I guess. 3. I also informed the waitress that there was an eyelash on my spam and she did not do anything. She did not even apologize nor did she offer to change my meal out. This itself showed what kind of restaurant this establishment is. Needless to say I will not be coming back to this restaurant. **take your business else where ladies and gentlemen. The current chef is terrible. He/She could not figure out how to accommodate an allium allergy. Shameful. No chef should be so completely wedded to garlic and onions that he/she cannot figure out how to create food that doesn't rely on those crutches. The waitstaff was awesome. I ate here a few times while spending a week at the Westin Ocean Villa Resorts. The positives are that it is super-convenient and the view is excellent. You can't beat sitting on a patio watching the boats in the ocean, the swimmers, etc. Very lovely. Also, the Island Saisim dish is really good. I included a photo of it. It's one of the best things I ate while on Maui. Lastly, the servers are extremely nice and accommodating. On the negative side, the cocktails seemed very weak to me. The one I ordered was supposed to have two shots of rum in it and I guarantee you that it did not. I know what two shots of rum tastes like and this wasn't it. It was more like fruit punch. We went to Auntie's Kitchen straight from the airport. The hostess asked if we had checked in and when we told her we hadn't she quickly brought us water and found us a table outside. Soon after, our server came by and took our order for food and drinks. We had the catch of the day which ended up being ono fish (wahoo), poke and drinks. Everything was delicious. Service was fast and friendly. If possible sit outside facing the pools, the best on a sunny day. read more

It's an average chain hotel poolside restaurant. I went here a couple times over the course of a week (mostly out of convenience as I was staying at the property) and tried a bunch of stuff. TL;DR: Food is slightly better than expected, drinks are terrible, and wait times are long. Kalua pork quesadilla - surprisingly good, served with crispy french fries. Greasy, but hit the spot. Corned beef hash - wow! this was super tender and a huge portion. Macadamia nut pancakes - nice and fluffy. downside is that they give you 2 small, cold packets of butter for the massive stack of pancakes. Piña colada - very icy and watery; do not recommend i was in a rush one day and ordered a side of fries to go - thinking it would be 10 minutes max given it was an off-peak time and there were only two other tables, but nope - it took almost 40 minutes to bring them out and they forgot to bring the extra sauces that I paid for. if I'm ever at this property again, I might order from here out of convenience, but I definitely wouldn't go out of my way to come back. read more
