Ordered the aunty's green dream Coming to the area it's near the front of the place and the owner is VERY approachable. She's a nice older lady who has taken covid precautions into consideration by placing money into the money bin and avoiding physical contact at all times. In the aunty's green dream it contains the following Blended leafy greens, coconut milk, banana, apple, herbs, ginger & optional added agave. Flavor - sweet and slight hints mint but nothing too strong or overwhelming. The coconut milk and apple flavors shine here Consistency - smooth texture, might have small bits of fruits and veggies but nothing that'll stick to your teeth If you're looking for a healthy spot, aunty's lol green hut is a the spot! She makes everything fresh per order and everything is 100% organic. She gave me the remainder of my drink after I showed appreciation afterwards as it's near the end of the day and she didn't want to waste it. Will definitely come back!

The best hands down. I must recommend. It makes me want to move to Hawaii. North Sore

So fresh, and flavorful! I got the southwest salad bowl and it was everything I hoped it would be and more. Loved the bright bell pepper stuffed with beans, rice and avocado atop a bed of bright organic greens. I also got the rose lemonade which was awesome. I loved the salad so much I ate it before I thought to take a pic - I'll say it was deceptively small at first look but then unfolded to plenty of food to fill me up perfectly. Can't wait to try this place again when we're back.

Thought this place was A-OK! Husband got a coffee and I got an orange basil kombucha. The service was friendly and prompt, they have their own hydroponic herb garden and I saw the lady grab my basil from her garden before putting it in my drink which is awesome! The coffee though was just OK, tasted a bit watery. My kombucha was fine, but I couldn't really taste the basil and there seemed to be a significant amount of Apple Cider Vinegar in there. I like my kombucha drinks strong but the ACV made me cough and it unfortunately tasted like diluted ACV. The area is very cute though, a lot of lawn furniture. It's a part of the Giovanni's shrimp truck area in general, just across the parking lot.

Such a neat little spot! The ladies were sweet to me. I got a rose lemonade that was so delicious! A perfect mild sweetness while also being refreshing. They even put a little rose to float at the top in it. A very adorable touch.

This place is amazing! Homemade kombucha, crepes, power bowls, juices and smoothies are all made with fresh ingredients - some of which are grown by the owners. I got the Mediterranean bowl with babaganoush, grains, cucumbers, olives, feta and Kahuku-grown basil. The hubby opted for the breakfast crepe which came with spring greens, chicken sausage, egg, avocado, pesto and Parmesan atop a freshly made savory crepe. For drinks we had the lemon ginger kombucha and the orange dream. The food and drinks were so amazingly fresh, flavorful, and satisfying especially before/after a long day at the beach. The outdoor seating area is so cute too and makes you feel so relaxed and just happy to be in paradise. Special places like these make me miss Hawaii.

My hibiscus tea was very refreshing

I LOVE their food. I am hooked. I am not a vegetarian or vegan but the food is amazing. It is so flavorful and tasty that you dint even miss the meat. I tried the komboucha and it was strong for me. Definitely an acquired taste but if that's what you're looking for, this place has got it! I also ordered the Mediterranean crepe, the breakfast crepe and hibiscus tea. I would highly recommend all three it was so delicious that I think about it at least once a day. LoL It was a bummer I couldn't order my food ahead of time. That would be a huge help if we could do take out orders. Also it is advertised that they are open 9am to 7pm 7 days a week. Unfortunately I went on a Sunday and they were closed. I would love to see what their updated hours are so I can go when they are open. Definitely looking forward to trying other things on the menu!

They have kombucha, green smoothies, and sugar cane juice here! Great spot for your health conscious ppl! They also sell healthy gluten free crepes here as well. Great lil spot to try in the Kahuku area right next to Giovanni's shrimp truck.

This place is wonderful! Family owned business with lots of vegetarian and vegan options. The owner Aliitasi was very nice and we actually ended up exchanging contact info as we were leaving! Definitely recommend and definitely will be back! Possibly tomorrow!

Delicious! Perfect eatery for the herbivores - Ordered the Southwestern bowl with egg (apparently you can also add chicken or beef if you're an omnivore) - Super yummy and filling! Can't add anything else that others haven't already mentioned, so will just say - Eat here! Unlike a lot of other eateries in Honolulu, you won't regret it!

Loved this little oasis amongst the other food trucks. Trees and umbrellas created a cooler, relaxing atmosphere. Didn't order any food, but the fresh homemade kombucha was delicious!

The best coffee I had on the island! I'm not even joking. I'm not sure where they get it from but I think they said Kona and it was an espresso blend but anyways it was crazy good. I'm not a black coffee drinker but I could drink this black. The mixed it was some coconut milk for me and it was so amazing. By the way it is strong and had me feeling good afterwards. Perfect pre beach drink ;). Parking was not an issue here and I loved the lounge area under the shade they had for their customers. I was covered so it helped when it was raining for a second. I didn't try anything else here but if you are looking for a good roast then give them a try.

Aunty's lil Green Hut is my favorite stop when passing through. Their food selections are both healthy AND delicious.

Enough visits that this is no longer about catching them on a bad afternoon, ordering the wrong thing or failing to understand what the place is supposed to be. I've tried the different shrimp, stood in the lines, eaten at the tables, navigated the parking, brought people here and returned because, for a very long time, Giovanni's was simply one of those places you went when you were on this side of the island. At some point, repetition becomes evidence. The truck itself has become an artifact. Covered in signatures, battered by time, photographed millions of times. There was probably a period when all of that felt charming. Now it mostly feels tired. There is a difference between patina and neglect and the surrounding experience has increasingly crossed that line for me. Flies, crowded tables, overflowing activity, rough parking, heat, trash nearby. You can romanticize rustic only so far before rustic starts asking for a pressure washer. Then there is the service, which has consistently been the hardest part for me to understand. I don't need anyone performing hospitality like they're auditioning for a resort commercial, but basic warmth costs nothing. Too often the interaction here feels impatient and transactional, as though the customer is somehow inconveniencing the operation by showing up to buy the food. After enough visits, you stop calling that an off day. And then there is the plate. The shrimp itself is actually the least offensive part. It is generally cooked reasonably well. Tender enough, rarely destroyed and when you get a good batch you can understand why this formula became so popular. Everything around it drags it down. The rice has repeatedly been soft, clumped and bordering on mushy. I am annoyingly particular about rice, but rice is not some decorative substance placed beneath the main event. It matters. When half the plate is rice, screwing it up is not a minor detail. The garlic is abundant, certainly, but abundance and care are different things. It often arrives more like a wet mass of processed garlic than the fragrance and texture you get from properly chopped fresh cloves. Add the butter and oil and you certainly get intensity, but after several bites the whole thing becomes heavy rather than interesting. The little salad on the side generally feels like an afterthought that has been waiting for someone to remember it. And that is ultimately my problem with Giovanni's. The entire experience feels as though its reputation arrived at the destination years before the restaurant did and everyone decided there was no longer much reason to keep improving. People will continue coming. Of course they will. The name is famous, the truck is recognizable, the photographs are practically mandatory and nostalgia is one hell of a business model. I understand it because it worked on me for years. But strip away the mythology and ask a brutally simple question: If this exact plate came from an unknown truck with no history, no signatures and no reputation, would you still wait in line for it? I wouldn't. Two stars. The shrimp can still be decent and I have too many memories here to pretend the place means nothing to me. But nostalgia should bring you back to a restaurant. It shouldn't be responsible for making the food taste better. I kept returning because tradition can turn habit into taste. I'm done confusing the two.

My husband and I had the jerk chicken one and it was full of flavor! It had just the right amount of deep fried crunch on the outside and spicy jerk flavor. You heard right, a peach mango rub (made from scratch by Chef D, the owner ) that one would typically put on a slow roasted or smoked meat was thrown on some hot crispy fries with a barbecue drizzle sauce.... Mm mm good . Speaking of the owner, he was serving with his daughter, and their "up" spirits and welcoming smiles created a fun but family atmosphere... great ambiance! Truly a hidden (but not so hidden) gem!…read more We randomly stopped by this place on our journey of exploring the North Shore. Upon a quick search, some people said they prefer this spot over another popular shrimp truck. Happy to say it was one of the highlights of our trip! The staff was very friendly and helpful. After ordering though a window, you wait for your number to be called and pick up the food. There are plenty of seatings around. We got the famous butter garlic shrimps and the salt and pepper shrimps plates. Both were delicious with great shrimp texture and freshness; however, we both agree salt and pepper shrimps are heavily underrated. Another bonus point is that the shells on the salt and pepper shrimps had a slight crunchy texture so I did not have to peel them. So happy to have found them!

My niece tried the spicy garlic shrimp, and the rice ended up being spicier than the shrimp. Tanaka seems to have steady traffic from tour groups, with visitors coming and going throughout the day. If you're a fan of Romy's, you may leave disappointed.
