    14. Club Sandwich
    Raymond L.

This is a nice mom and pop shop located near office buildings. We came by during lunch and it was very quiet and peaceful. The club sandwich had a generous amount of deli meat, but the overall sandwich is mid at best. The bread was soft and lacked any type of a crunch (a Dutch crunch without any crunch). The sandwich was on bland side with hints of salty taste. Overall a decent sandwich with no wow factor

Ask for the veggie breakfast burrito! it's the best. I love having this for breakfast in the morning. Every ingredient is so fresh. Best fresh squeezed, orange juice. I love coming down to the sandwich, shop . Customer Service is amazing. Great variety. Love the owners so nice and accommodating.

About the size of my palm & conveniently right next to the register - so hard to say no to!!

FRESH options abound! Hard to decide as they have so many GREAT salads, great sandwiches, and several great daily specials - all freshly made/made to order! And at extremely reasonable prices (easily more expensive and not as fresh elsewhere) - you just can't go wrong here for breakfast or lunch! I am a regular here as it is located within my office complex and I have never had a bad or disappointing meal. Everything is fresh & made to order, and if you want a particular variation or something special - just ask! They are always friendly and happy to accommodate! You may have to wait in line if going near or during the Noon lunch hour, or in the morning depending on what you order, but it's worth it. And they usually have something delectable near the register to appeal to your sweet senses - usually it's really moist banana bread, but this day it was chunk chocolate chip cookies - YUMMMMMM!!

Freddie's hooks it up with the most densely packed sandwiches with top quality deli meats and freshest veggies in the area. They have over 20 different sandwiches on the menu, but the owners are very accommodating and will customize sandwiches for you just the way you like. They also have plenty of bread options for you as well. Freddie also has plenty of vegetarian options and specials on the menu. When I don't feel like eating meat, I can get a delicious veggie sandwich or falafel sandwich/salad. Weekly they also serve up some interesting lentils with grilled onions lunch special with a side of plain yogurt and zesty cucumber salad. Finally, if you're in a hurry and want a good and cheap breakfast burrito, they sell $5 breakfast burritos that are made to order with fresh eggs and your choice of chorizo, bacon, or ham. Fresh eggs for the win! Owners are super friendly and will help you satisfy all your breakfast and lunch cravings.

Can I say MEAT!!! I was looking at the reviews deciding if I should check it out, not many photos, but I can definitely say if you love a loaded sandwich with meat this is the place to go! I will be a returning customer when I visit for work. I could barely get full bite with how thick the sandwich was. Try the Dutch bread! I got the club sandwich, had turkey, ham and bacon and veggies simply delish!! (Right next to FedEx)

We tried…read morethis place once after being unsatisfied with the sandwich options in the surrounding grocery store delis, and this exceeded our expectations. The shop is a standard deli with a few tables inside. The service is fast and friendly, and the ingredients are fresh. The best part about these sandwiches, though, is that their sourdough has a crunchy exterior. The sourdough I've experienced at other sandwich locations tends to have a softer outside, which leads me to typically offering Dutch crunch instead. At West Coast Sourdough, though, their sourdough is just as crunchy as a Dutch crunch elsewhere, giving me both the texture and flavor profile I desire. If I'm looking for a basic deli sandwich on a quality sourdough roll, it's always safe to assume I'll be going here.

Whether you're ordering to-go or eating in, the food is always piping hot and consistently flavorful, never disappoints! Our go-to order is the clam chowder with a sourdough bread bowl, which is hands down the best. I recommend getting the bread bowl on the side so you can enjoy the bread and chowder together. The clam chowder is my favorite, perfectly creamy with generous chunks of clams and potatoes. The bread bowl is the highlight, fluffy and crispy at the same time. Yum!

The location of the store seems a little far away because it's in the corner by Safeway's gas station off to the side, so I imagine some people miss it. So keep an eye out for it next time you're in the mood for some hot subs. Chris, the owner, was so kind and explained everything to us. He was patient, informative, and professional. It's nice to see owners work at times and treat their customers so genuinely! So thank you, Chris! The store is honestly decorated so well. There's details everywhere on the wall, and it's all dedicated to San Jose culture and first responders. The ambiance felt local and cool. Now for the food, my husband ordered the Build Your Own Sub with Pastrami and it was delicious! I ordered their new and off the menu French Dip sub with aus ju and IT WAS SO GOOD. Highly recommend to get it now while they have it! Special notes: - All subs are served hot! - They have a hot sauce bar with unique sauces all leveled off from (1-10). 1 = mild and 10 = spiciest! Affordability: both of our subs came out to be around $20 for two large subs. Some people may view the prices as pricey, but if you get a large sub it's definitely worth it. Check out the photos for reference (I don't think the photos do the large size justice though because they are HUGE) and give Firehouse Sub a try for yourself!

Thought I'd give it a try. I like sandos....err subs. I placed an order online and picked it up without any issues, just the way it should be. My order was ready and waiting for me when I got there. The venue at the corner of a newer shopping plaza. There is a decent amount of seating inside and outside as well along with plenty of parking around. #Sandos: ~ Hook & Ladder - 3.5/5 The most basic one...I think. Smoked Turkey breast, Honey Ham, and melted Monterey Jack cheese, served with lettuce, tomato, onion, no mayo for me, and deli mustard with a pickle spear on the side. The sub were just okay for me, nothing amazing. ~ Firehouse Steak & Cheese (Large) - 3/5 Looks much better in the brochure. It's fine, tasted OK. Nothing to brag about, don't let the sando sit around. Make sure you finish it all at once or it will get soggy... may be its because of the oil and vinegar dressing I opted for? Not sure... The wheat bread is a tad too sweet for my liking and the white bread is just plain and flavorless. I do wish they provided options like Sourdough or Dutch Crunch, which also happen to be healthier for you. I wanted to complain that they were expensive but then realized that's how it is everywhere now. That food inflation is no joke... I'd stop by if nothing was around. Not so sure I need to try other items on the menu.

The grilled chicken was tender and juicy, while the fish patty offered a unique savory flavor and texture that was equally satisfying. Every sandwich was generously filled with fresh cucumber, cilantro, and crunchy pickled vegetables. I brought them home and enjoyed them with a fresh cup of coffee, and they still tasted fantastic. Great quality, generous portions, fast service, and very reasonable prices. It's easy to see why this place has such a loyal following. We ordered several sandwiches to-go for my parents, and I really appreciated that they packaged the vegetables separately from the bread so everything stayed fresh and the baguettes didn't become soggy. Pro tip: When you get home, lightly toast the bread in a pan or toaster oven and keep the vegetables refrigerated until you're ready to assemble your sandwich. It tastes just like it was freshly made. Highly recommend! I'll definitely be back whenever I'm in the area.
