Open while the stay at home is in place! Looking for a sugar fix? In need of candy, ice cream, or a sweet / cute gift? This is a great place to grab and go or phone in your order. They even have curbside pick up! Today's visit was not planned. We were driving by and noticed it was open. We decided to pop in to support this local business. It was similar to my first visit but the hours have been modified due to the pandemic and everyone (myself and bf included) were masked up. There were also signs on the door with social distancing and safety protocols. We ended up with a large size candy bag ($8.00) which I filled with Sunkist candies and taffy. Small bags were $6.00. When I went to pay, I received a small adorable "AusSam" reusable bag that they were giving away for their 1 year anniversary. Service was warm and friendly. This was a fun visit and a nice break during this time of the "sheltering in place." The grocery store, Target, and home improvement stores can get old... Keeping it short and "sweet." Don't let the unassuming storefront fool you. Behind the doors lies lies an adorable and well-decorated candy store with friendly and personable owners. Located in the heart of old town GH, this candy store is a great addition to the area and community. It has an old fashioned vibe and was clean and well organized. A large assortment of candies and a little selection of drinks were available for purchase. It was a fun store to pop into. I didn't buy anything this time around so based solely on the friendly owners and the store presentation, solid 5 stars.

Another delightful family owned addition along Old Granada Village. My daughter attends Mathnasium which is right next door and we have been patiently waiting for this shop to open. Today was our day to walk in and see the types of candies and treats they sell. They have a wide variety of candy choices to satisfy any age. You have the choice of buying in bulk ( large bags $8 or small bags $6 and you) or buying items individually. There is also specialty drinks and ice cream treats. I am looking forward to see what offers the business has (ie rewards program) and seeing it grow! Welcome to Granada Hills AusSam Candy!

AusSam is awesome! Sweetest owners, really helpful and just happy to help. Fun place to bring kids for a quick treat. Not many candy shops to go to anymore and this place brings back such a sweet nostalgia... located in Granada Hills where all the cute shops are up and coming. Wonderful addition! They have bags you can fill up for $8 bucks - as much as you can for the small. I believe $10 for the large...Pretty cool. I'm a fan of the idea and you can also pick from international candies to old school. Great for people with a sweet tooth! Glad to have stumbled in and will keep this place in mind when I'm bringing out some of my nieces and nephews.

    Absolutely adorable candy shop!!

Go! Just Go! The most adorable candy shop and right in our little Old Granada Hills. Every type of candy that you can think of, plus a few more! Candy from around the world and many throwbacks! The owner's husband was at the helm and couldn't have been any more pleasant! Kind and helpful. Support our local businesses!

    Necco wafers and Violet candy

I've been meaning to visit AusSam since I haven't been to a proper candy shop since the early 1970s in NY. I hoped that they stocked Necco wafers and Violet candy (childhood favorites) and sure enough, they have both! The store is immaculate, their prices reasonable and the owners are helpful and friendly. They even have homemade dog treats! I'll be back!

Cool blend of traditional, modern, and hard to find candies. Kind and knowledgeable staff - a new fixture in Old Granada Village.

Yes, we have sour belts in stock. We have packages of the original Sour Power Belts, Rip Rolls, and Airhead Extremes.

Do u carry imported candies and chocolates, thanks?

The historic shop has a charming old-fashioned feel, and the service was friendly, welcoming, and efficient. Every mochi tasted incredibly fresh, with a soft, pillowy texture that showcased the craftsmanship behind each handmade piece. **Sho-Mochi: 5/5** One of Fugetsu-Do's signature creations, the Sho-Mochi was a true standout. The vibrant blue mochi was incredibly soft and chewy, while the silky white chocolate ganache filling delivered a rich, creamy sweetness that melted effortlessly on the palate. **Strawberry Anko Mochi: 4/5** The strawberry anko mochi featured a soft, pillowy wrapper filled with a blend of strawberry and smooth white bean paste, then topped with a hazelnut chocolate ganache that added a rich, nutty sweetness. Unfortunately, the strawberry filling tasted somewhat artificial, lacking the fresh, vibrant fruit flavor I was hoping for. **Green Tea Mochi: 5/5** My love for matcha made this an easy standout. Filled with smooth white bean paste infused with matcha, it offered a pleasant balance of earthy, slightly bittersweet notes and subtle sweetness. **Mango Mochi: 5/5** Bursting with natural mango flavor, this mochi was wonderfully refreshing from the very first taste. Its springy chew created a pleasantly airy, satisfying texture, while the gentle sweetness rounded out the bright, fruity notes. Fugetsu-Do has earned its legendary reputation through generations of exceptional craftsmanship. From the incredibly fresh mochi to the diverse selection of handcrafted flavors, every piece reflects the care and tradition that have made this shop a beloved destination for decades. I believe their outstanding mochi shop is the keystone to all of little tokyo and it's a must visit when you are in the area. They have fruity mochi and you can sometimes get it filled with red bean. Recently, they've had a Shohei Ohtani special, where it's a blue mochi filled with white chocolate ganache. My favorite is their chocolate mochi as it's simple, chewy, sweet, and delicious. In my visit this weekend, we got this blueberry mochi that was filled with the same white chocolate ganache that was in the shohei special. If you look around their storefront, you might find some hidden gems on the shelves. I got a salted caramel kit kat bag that was not cheap; however, it's also pretty hard to find. Overall, this is a gem and a pillar in the community!

Galco's will forever hold a special place in my heart…read more This is the OG grocery store we would walk to in the early 80"s. When they had penny candy machines, a big taxidermy deer head and the kindest owner. He once gave me and my sibling a big paper lunch bag full of candies! I love seeing the original check out stand, the little upper office where the owner would stand and the old fridge area where it once held fruits and veggies now old school candy bars. If you grew up in highland park in the 80s, this was the local market. How I miss those days! Highland Park is so different now! Btw Galco's makes some of the best sandwiches! It has such a selection of candy from your childhood, and for kids, random unique gifts to keep them busy. but yesterday...all that flew out the window. I approached the sandwich counter and asked the person working (an angry woman apparently) what her favorite sandwiches are. After she took a minute to complain about how she had been making sandwiches all day and her brain is fried and she didn't really have any recommendations for me (and was seemingly annoyed at me even asking) she looked at the clock and advised that I was 2 minutes too late to order a hot sandwich. literally the 2 minutes she took to complain about her job cost me the sandwich. now, if it was my shop and a nice family came in and asked me my opinion on something and I took a minute or two to say the things that she said I would give them a sandwich and make that sandwich be the last sandwich of the day, but instead apparently my money wasn't green enough for her. She shut it down and two minutes later was out the door. she was rude, and honestly it just seemed that she didn't give an F. Today I called the store to speak with the owner and the person who answered the phone gave me the runaround. it was clear that either the workers didn't want to connect me with the owner or the owner doesn't want to hear the complaint. this place has gone downhill.
